641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme. on: November 17, 2023, 02:07:14 PM
...it is your bitcoin investment that will turn your life around in future and you will be happy that you invested and hodli for a long term and you could meet up your bitcoin target.
Bitcoin investment will hedge you against inflation and give you some return on investment, but will not "turn your life around" or get you rich. If you have a source of income, converting your spare cash to bitcoin will help you protect it from inflation, if you do not, bitcoin cannot help with that.

Bitcoin is not altcoins that can be hype,
Bitcoin is not built on hype, but it is a consequence of its features. Decentralization and security is enough to get anyone excited.

642  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin and option for low- and middle-income countries [Fees & Costs] on: November 15, 2023, 07:41:06 PM
Absolutely, but people in countries where salaries are higher tend to:
1. use banks a lot.
2. don't really care about the remittance cost because it doesn't look so scary.
...
1. I think usage of banks is not directly or strongly correlated to the economic status. Not considering the unbanked I will assume both high, low and middle income countries use banks to the same extent.

2. I can flip that to show that those is low/middle income countries do not engage in international transactions often and if they do. they find themselves on the receiving end of the transaction where they do not worry about the remittance cost.

643  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: November 15, 2023, 07:32:49 PM
...City is an important team and they have a star like Haaland, but I still do not think they will let Alvarez go.
They surely will not. He is a versatile player who can replace Halland a center forward, and can also replace Debruyne in the middle of the pitch and take to both positions like a duck to water. He is creative and young meaning he will cost so much for any team that wants to sign him and City will only consider a deal if the player is willing to leave.

Guardiola is not a coach that holds on to players who want to leave, but he will do his bit to keep you content with the team especially if you are a mainstay in the club.

644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Casinos with Online and Offline version, Are they the same? on: November 15, 2023, 07:21:54 PM
Perspective plays a huge role in this. Online and offline versions of platforms are one and the same, with the same values and mode of operation, what changes is the customers and how they perceive the platform.

- Physical players will attribute majority of any issue they face to the short comings of the staff they meet at the outlet and less to the general company itself, but in the online version it is all targeted to the business.

- Also, it is difficult to carry out routine scams like defaulting on payment in a physical outlet, cause the customer is there in person, but online is more complicated. The team can block them out and ask customer care to keep repeating the same generic text to them till they get tired.

- Lastly, this forum is not the standard for online perception. 1xbet and 1xBit has a bad rep here, but the rest of the internet does not really care for what they do.

645  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Avoid trading crypto in real person. You can see this now on Binance. on: November 15, 2023, 07:12:41 PM
I would not tell people to avoid face to face trades, what i'd tell them is to follow certain precautions: do not meet random people on social media and meet up with them for a face to face trade, you will definitely be robbed...
This is exactly what happens when you make a face to face trade. A media (could be a decentralized or centralized exchange) connects a random buyer to a seller. They do their basic checks, but this does not accommodate the intent of any of the parties.
This creates an avenue where one can be jacked; $5 wrench attack, or tracked back to their home.

Going along with a friend is a good idea and can help to some extent, but much better to go with a more assured alternative.

What about this legendary member Rath_ for his helpful posts on lightning network.
The user was last active four months ago and posted last almost 8 months ago, a tag will not draw their attention.

Alternatively, someone can re create such useful threads and fix the broken links.

The PGMOL has announced that they will be releasing the audio recording of the controversial goal that handed Arsenal their first defeat against Newcastle.

I am not really excited to hear what led the refs to arrive at the decision that caused them to stick to the on field decision, it is probably them explaining and rationalizing the decision. It is not a clear and obvious error like the offside against Liverpool and is open to interpretation based on how you view the incidence.

648  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: November 14, 2023, 05:45:30 PM
Arsenal is ready to hijack Newcastle’s loan move for Ruben Neves.
With the suspension of Sandro Tonali. Newcastle will most likely go all in on on the transfer since they have lost one holding midfielder already. Arsenal may not bring as much to the deal as Newcastle will, and it might all go down to the players final decision.

Arsenal’s sporting director Edu is known to be a long-term admirer of former Wolves star.
He will be a very good fit into the style of play of the goonerz.

649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin and option for low- and middle-income countries [Fees & Costs] on: November 13, 2023, 06:32:17 PM
I do not use it for cross border transactions cause those I regularly transact with are not exactly excited about the prospects of bitcoin and refuse to use it, even for the singular purpose of receiving.
On a more general perspective, Bitcoin is cheaper and faster than other cross border channels for money transfer. For everyday expenses the transaction fee can be a burden ads it is now, but for larger transactions to farther distances it is the ideal option to use, showing that bitcoin can be scalable depending on how it is used.

This feature is not limited to low and middle income countries. Anyone who engages in international transactions will appreciate using bitcoin as the channel.

Anyway. United won, but were outplayed at least half the game. I feel like I wasted my afternoon watching that...
Do not worry too much, Arsenal will make it up to you later in the evening  Cool

Good on Manchester United to give me an exact score result, I do not mind much for their performance but just expected they will squeeze out a victory.

651  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ballon d'Or discussion and odds on: November 04, 2023, 02:57:03 PM
Stop lying, I’m not writing about one year (or tournament) when everything can be attributed to randomness.
This is where you mixed it up;
Exactly! Plus Sneijder, Forlan and others who in different years were stronger than Messi, but they did not receive a prize, but he did.
You mentioned different years, but was talking about the exact same year.

The rest of your argument is just you sharing your personal opinion and trolling, so no need pursuing the argument with someone who is not objective.

652  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ballon d'Or discussion and odds on: November 02, 2023, 08:15:55 PM
Exactly! Plus Sneijder, Forlan and others who in different years were stronger than Messi, but they did not receive a prize, but he did. That's right - Messi is an ordinary player who was promoted by corrupt officials.
You are confusing the exact same year, 2010. Your entire focus seems to be on the world cup so I assume that is the year you are talking about.
Stop mixing reality up to suit your agenda.
Then explain what you mean by "stronger"? I have already mentioned that reality is not what you think but what it is. So you do not simply say team A is better than B and that becomes it.

Also, did those corrupt officials score the goals and create the assists he made?
Did they break the records he broke and create the magic he did on the ball?

It’s good that you talked about reality, because it was in reality that Xavi and Iniesta won the World Cup and two European Championships in just 4 years (a legendary achievement) and Messi failed without them.
Totally different National team sides. Your points are really showing you to have a poor perspective of football.
Spain had a complete team at the time and had a great manager. Argentina on the other hand simply had lots of good attackers but not a complete team.
Messi is not a national team, neither was Xavi or Iniesta, and as good as any player was they need a system to function.

Yes, yes, you can repeat all this many times, but why can’t you explain what happened in the period 2008-2012? Xavi, Iniesta and Messi have the same achievements at the club level, and are absolutely cosmically different at the national team level. At the same time, Messi collected all the awards even though he was monstrously worse than Iniesta and Xavi.
You are the one repetitively comparing Xavi and Iniesta to Messi and linking the glory days of Spain. If I wanted to indulge your ridiculous argument, I will say Xavi and Iniesta failed at 2014 world cup, while Messi got to the final and won the golden ball. But it still balls down to the team, Spain at that time had reached an epoch and could not go beyond it till they had a change in system.

Monstrously is a heavy word, does not fit anywhere in this conversation really.
Answer one question honestly, Do you think personal achievements are determined more by "personal" performance or team performance?

653  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ballon d'Or discussion and odds on: November 02, 2023, 06:37:51 AM
in the period 2008-2012, Xavi and Iniesta won at the club level everything that Messi won + the World Cup + 2 European Championships.
So did Sergio Busquets, so did Pedro, so did Pique, so did Puyol, so did David Villa (after he joined).
You are yet to explain how Xavi and Iniesta are personally better players than Messi. Football is not based on your perception, but on reality.

Messi completely failed without them at the 2010 World Cup and was an ordinary player at the 2011 Copa America. But during this period, Messi received 4 Ballon d'Ors, and Xavi and Iniesta zero  Grin
Messi has won 3 balon d'ors without Xavi and Iniesta and 2 without Barcelona.

Liverpool was the perfect club for Bellingham's legacy to develop - especially under Klopp.
He would have thrived in Liverpool, but I feel Real Madrid is a much better team for his development and ambition as a player. Madrid is a team with a ruthless winning mentality and he is growing to feel the skin he has found himself in.
I forgot it was EFL cup week and placed my bets ahead of time, rather than wait for the outcome of today's matches. I barely change ky picks cause I want to trust my first instinct, so whatever happens tonight I will go with my original picks.

I am hoping there will be no upsets.

655  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ FOOTBALL: EFL Carabao Cup 2023/24 Season (English Football League) on: November 01, 2023, 07:02:56 PM
Arsenal surprisingly are fielding a strong squad for tonight's fixture, what is more surprising is that majority of the players did not feature in the EPL weekend match, showing that they are building some strong squad depth with their recent acquisitions. Arteta will need to manage the squad well to keep the players happy and also introduce the new players into the team at a decent time.

Liverpool made more rotations cause they are playing a weaker team and have a better chance to win.

I predict the expected teams to win tonight, including Chelsea and Newcastle.

656  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: "change password frequently" on: November 01, 2023, 01:14:20 PM
Do you change your passwords often? If no, have you been hacked?

What's your opinion on this security measure?
I do not change my password often and have never been hacked.

I do not think people need to change their passwords at all if you chose a secure mix of characters. You just need to have a secure back up for it. The only upside to changing your password could be to log out any unauthorized access to your account. A hacker can get your email and password and be accessing your account with you without changing anything, if you change your password, they will be logged out.

One of the reason of changing your password regularly doesn’t necessarily mean to avoid getting hack but you might also forget it. Imagine you been logged into this account for so long like a year and something happens to your device which it was logged in, there is possibility that you might have forgotten it since you don’t actually use it often.
You should not rely on memory to remember sensitive passwords and other information. Backing up different passwords at different times can also get confusing, other than that, it is a safe process and could provide more security.

All these are words, but in fact Messi without Barcelona is an ordinary average player.
Messi without Barcelona did not exist so we cannot make any assumption on what he was or would have been. The closest we can use is his National team and Messi without Barcelona in this situation is a,
- World Cup winner,
- Copa America winner,
- Olympic gold medalist,
- 2× World cup Golden ball,
- Two times world cup finalist.

A very fine record if you ask me.

If you watch football, then you must have heard about Iniesta, Xavi and others who were consistently better than Messi (and achieved the greatest achievements without him, while he failed without them) but did not win a single Ballon d'Or.
On what criteria are they better than Messi?
And what greatest achievement are you talking about, world cup? Yeah, he has achieved that.

658  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most you have ever lost in one session? on: October 31, 2023, 07:43:48 PM
People who stake very high amounts do not usually go public with it. They are private with their finances and transactions which leads me to feel this post is something that never happened.

Even if the story checks out, it is not safe to talk about your financial transactions in a public forum like this. Scammers can use that to get a rough idea of your worth and make you a target for scam attempts.

659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ballon d'Or discussion and odds on: October 31, 2023, 07:25:39 PM
In general, it’s sad that Messi could have gone down in history as a great athlete even from “one team,” (far from the best, but at the level of Thomas Müller, Totti, etc.) but he went down as a great thief.
This is quite the take on arguably one of the greatest players that football has ever witnessed. Putting Messi at the level of Totti and Muller clearly shows that you do not watch the sport at all or you support a rival club/player which makes you blind to what goes on in it.

I am not even a fanboy, I just watch football neutrally and call what I see. It is debatable whether Messi won this Balon D'or just as the one that Modric one and some Ronaldo won as well. That is football, fans have their opinions and can go extreme with it, but saying he "could" have gone does as a great athlete... is ridiculous.

660  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP][banned mixer] Mixer Review#2| 6mBTC+50% OFF | Bonus 10mBTC & 10% OFF for ALL! on: October 30, 2023, 06:47:52 PM
[banned mixer] Mixer Review Program #2
Bitcointalk username: un_rank

Finding [banned mixer]
This is my first review of the [banned mixer] website and its functionalities. Before I get to the actual review I tried the possibility of someone not from this forum discovering the website, I searched across different search engines:

- Google,
- Bing,
- Duckduckgo.

...and I used specific keywords on all of them "Bitcoin mixer", "Best bitcoin mixer", "safe bitcoin mixer", "Bitcoin tumbler".
None of my search results (1st page) showed the tumbler website or a ranking where it was mentioned, but I came across a couple of competing services.
I am not giving the team any sticks for this cause SEO rankings take time to grow organically and the team could already be working on it behind the scenes. This is just the perspective of a user trying to find the a mixer to use randomly.
To the review;
Website Functionality
First I am testing out the overall website functionality and how easy it is to navigate.
● My first impression is that it is a decent website which works great on different browsers on mobile or desktop.
● There is an image in the front page which gives the impression of a video with a play button but does not lead anywhere, that could be confusing to first timers.
● The "Last Articles" could be better written as "Latest Articles". The word last always has an undertone to it that does not encourage others to delve further.
● Overall, I feel the website could be designed better. The 4 Hallmarks could be better positioned for the reader to see that as the first or second thing on the page, no the read more section. Things like that gives confidence to the person visiting the site for the first time and should be difficult to miss.

MIX 1
I am using Firefox version 119.0 on desktop.
Security level - Premium
Service Fee - 3.99%
Amount sent - 0.0015BTC
2 receiving Addresses.
Delay time between the two addresses
~ 6 hours 45 minutes
~ 3 hours 5 minutes

Pros
● Majority of the previous suggestions and complaints has been corrected already, which shows responsiveness.
● The site synced really well. In real time in recognized the incoming transaction and the confirmation was recorded almost immediately after it got the first confirmation.
● I manually calculated the fees paid along with the final payout and the fee calculator gave the correct figure.
● I monitored the first transaction, it was sent out instantaneously after the delay time elapsed which is a faster response time than some other mixers.
● The transaction was sent with a feerate of 11.4sat/vbyte, which got confirmed at a decent speed. Not too fast or slow for the current network status.
● Using two different explorers, it gave a high privacy rating.

Cons
● The service fee is competitively high. It could be one or two percent lower to attract more users.
● I think there should be an option to manually choose the exact feerate you want on the receiving transaction or to choose between, low, medium or high priority.

MIX 2
I am using microsoft edge version 109.0 on mobile
Security level - Standard
Service fee - 2.20%
Amount sent - 0.0011BTC
1 receiving address
Delay time - 0 hours 16 minutes.

Pros
● The website still worked seamlessly, did not give off the impression that the team was prioritizing the desktop version which I get on many websites, including yours truly.
● Cause there was no much difference all other pros from the first mix apply here.

Cons
● I noticed that the response time was slightly slower on mobile than desktop using the same internet speed (could be from my end, cause I did not clear cache to try again). But the sync time was still decent to record when the transaction was made and confirmed. The desktop view on the mobile phone also worked neatly, although it highlighted the large "play" video just sitting at the center of the screen which I talked about earlier.
● The standard privacy level gave very similar results to the premium which was used in the first mix.

Suggestions;
The website is great and has improved a lot since it started this review campaign which shows the team is really motivated to work and improve the website, but here are some of my suggestions for how it can be better;

● The letter of guarantee should be highlighted more. It is very easy to miss after using the mixer a couple of times and will save users time if they are always reminded to download it in the event of an order issue.
● I will keep this open and add more suggestions as I mix tweaking the features more.
