641  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Resist trending attractions claiming potential of rewards in the BTC industry on: February 08, 2024, 11:03:55 PM
I supposed this statement have been made over a million times that "Bitcoin is not a get rich quick scheme" So when people get convinced with such ponzi scheme scams it's solely due to lack of information (Bitcoin knowledge) and this forum is probably meant to enlighten such newbie or beginner on how to handle such issues never to fall victim of scams. Perhaps introducing people who are interested in crypto related things to this forum is absolutely not a bad idea or does not harm rather it profits them because they will get more knowledge as soon as possible. except you're probably talking about introducing people to trading which is probably or certainly a bad idea because whatever happens after such action will be blamed on the referral.

The more people starts realizing that they can't get rich over night the better. one question I usually ask ponzi scheme scammers is, if you have all this knowledge of making me this amount of profit over a period of 24hrs why didn't you make use of the opportunity and make your self more rich? this question scares them away as soon as possible because they don't have a good answer to it.

According to one of our mates " untill the prime suspect is cought everyone is a suspect" if this is also applied I guess the issues of get scammed will be reduced.

Lucius you have probably made my day with your tough and soft truth here. You hit the point one after other and lift me less words to say.

Anyways I will still have to contribute a little to this, I totally disagree with OP on this statement below
Quote
I believe as Bitcoin HODLers, we should welcome more money-printing because Bitcoin will absorb some of that excess liquidity, and make the price surge.
because I will not be happy to see people suffer for the sake of few of us here that are Bitcoin enthusiast. although it will increase the rate at which Bitcoin will be need to cope with the inflation but it's not still a very good idea for me. imagine how hard life is for the poor mass in some areas or countries and how it will be if this inflation keeps going. No I don't welcome more money-printing because it favours me but want the wellness of the masses which we are still among.
643  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Misplaced Priorities Of Some Citizens. on: February 07, 2024, 09:33:08 PM
When I first read the title I thought it had something to do with the current celebration in Nigeria lol 😂

I have recently noticed a high level of awareness in Nigerians concerning the rate at which we try to compare ourselves with the imposed cultures that we are lacking behind. Africa's are aware of all the evil this people did years back and with the level of agitations I believe that most people will start backing of from the churchy believes and rather get to work on themselves than go to church to pray die by fire against their laziness. In Africa we have our own development and technology but this people took this techs from us and labeled it evil or demonic while they take it away to enrich themselves and there government. They gave us a book that has power in it which is bible but the initial purpose of release this book was to soften our hearts not to react when they take our resources. they brought in their right hand the bible/quran and in their lift hands guns, weapons of mass destructions that was leftovers of the world war 1 and used it to take our resources, when people like king Jaja of opobo and Nana of isikiri disagreed with their proposal of milking our Nigeria natural resources they used forces killed the securities etc and use us against ourselves to distract and gain power over here.

what am saying is if the natural technologies had wasn't taken away Africa (Nigeria) would have emerged as the world power.

Op do not think that we Nigerians are not trying, we all are but the root are strong to pull out but in less than no time it will surely be over. Have you heard of the Nigerian man who made some beautiful technology like cars for over 50 years of his life and proposed a car factory or industry but it was discriminated by the whites, president of other European countries came and inspected our own ideal and said it was bad that if the tech continues people will die but people the man disagree and went ahead with his dream few days later, the factory was set on fire and everything burned down. who do you think was responsible for the destruction of this Wonderful idea? it was this same white men that bought some young men with money to destroy the company because they knew if Nigeria continues with only one tech it's over for them.

Have you not also heard about Nigerians who did so well in techs abroad and the countries refuse them to come back and create they ideas over here? we have now gotten to the highest level of awareness and I believe religion and every bad leadership will leave our way soon.

There more histories I would love to share with you to show you how far we have come into techs but they use our leaders to surprise this ideas and promised them forever rulership and not leadership. go and also listen to ex president Jonathan who refuse this rulership promises and how he was threatened by Barack Obama and other country presidents which are the world power and only him can not defeat them when our own had rebelled us just for his selfish gains.

Be at alert Nigeria is coming back for his deprived right and as soon as Nigeria gets it back the rest of Africa will be elevated because Nigeria is the giant of AFRICA that supports it's little brothers and sisters to grow.

The meaning of my username is the church era is gone which I turn to Churchillvv ( the churchill is down). we believe in God not religion anymore.
644  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Try all your best to gain knowledge on: February 07, 2024, 05:44:17 PM
Knowledge is very important but university education or reading and writing is not exactly the complete knowledge. infact knowledge is getting aquatinted with some level of information, a mechanic is knowledge on what his doing but not literally educated so there is a difference between knowledge and being educated.

A knowledge applied in the right time makes one rich, although I see sentiment in you speech more like getting paid here or wearing some signature campaign makes you different from others, but to be since you're just opportune to be here and others who trade too are opportune to make money via trading.

Knowledge is vital, whether it's educational knowledge or skilled knowledge it's very important and being a thinker makes the difference that brings in money.
i just leant some thing new today which is challenges creates channels, channels creates chances, chances creates change. this means that everyone has the power to become rich if only we can make use of our challenges.
645  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Isn’t it better late than sorry? on: February 07, 2024, 05:06:57 PM
I once had this feelings when I finally got to know how far Bitcoin has gone and  I always wish I was there with those who got involved from the on set. it's better late than sorry, so i jump into it and I think I'm gradually fitting in so you too can do it.

all you have to do is make use of the link provided above and dig in, along the line whatever you don't get you can come back here to ask questions or better use the forum search engine to see if such issues has been discussed before.

If you have job you can start small with DCA and eventually you will hit your target and never be sorry again.
646  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A student investing in bitcoin? on: February 07, 2024, 04:15:47 PM
With evidence shown above it means you already have Bitcoin or have had it before, but the question that you asked if you should invest your savings is probably what I will only answer here.

Bitcoin Investment has some little things to put consideration before investing in it. which are investing only what you can do without for a long time, you should also have a good cash flow (a job that can pay you on a weekly or monthly basis in order for you be able to purchase), should also have an emergency funds that can cover up your six months unforseen expenses and lastly consider a good wallet to store your Bitcoin. additionally there are ways to buy or strategies to buy Bitcoin but it's most preferable to use the DCA method which you will come across soon.
647  Economy / Services / Re: Hello Im new here and i can help you with privacy matters on: February 07, 2024, 03:59:59 PM
Well thanks for offering to help out with KYC matters but for privacy to be true privacy then every detail of it should be private. I have to use the term private for you to understand that is personal thing that nobody needs to have your information or know your ways around what you do.

But why will someone need to have KYC issues solved by a total stranger does it not sound insane? there are non kyc exchanges that you can use if your not convenient with KYC exchanges.

I love privacy but not your kind of privacy.
648  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rich or poor gambler, who should risk more? on: February 07, 2024, 03:39:21 PM
This topic is similar to rich or poor who looses more in gambling and Why the rich win gambling more than the poor topics. I expect same ideas to be translated here. Arent you people tired of discussing the same thing over and over again? Dont try to cheat the system. Poor and rich both lose, win and risk identically, based the amount they bet in ratio they earn. Dont try to beat math. In % equivalent, 10 our of 1,000 is the same as 1,000 out of 100,000. The one who got engaged in gambling already is under risk. It does not matter who you are, rich, poor, experienced or not, everyone is under the risk.
I have been reading some response since but none got my attention as yours because it's exactly why I'm thinking. What should keep reframing topics and put them back to be discussed. It's that not spamming? Am still a newbie maybe I don't really understand what this happening in this board.

For the op, the social strata places the rich in every equation high than the poor. Whatever the rich and the poor has to do together the rich will always remain more successful than the poor because they have more capacity to do something the status quo poor people will fo but with high portion. In gambling as said above if my 1% is $100 and i stake it on a particular bet and someone else 1% is $1000 and he or she also stake on the same bet who wins more ? Of course the rich so the rich take same level of risk with the poor but the capacity makes the difference.

Your highest level of risk tolerance could be where the level of risk tolerance of the reach starts. It's vice versa.

Emergency funds savings set aside specifically to cover unexpected expenses or financial emergencies. These funds are typically taken process can be followed DCA.Financial experts often recommend having enough funds in an emergency fund to cover three to six months' worth of living expenses although the exact amount may vary depending on individual circumstances.

This funds in that they have set aside to provide financial stability and security at-least 10% or 15% BTC. It's are often used in a broader sense encompassing savings set aside for various purposes beyond just emergencies.Reserve funds may include savings for future large purchases, planning to expenses or to cover fluctuations in income or expenses and also can be used strategically to maintain financial health and stability over the long term.

Float can delay between when a check is written and when it clears from the issuer's account float effectively can provide opportunities for cash flow management and may allow individuals or businesses to earn interest or other benefits from the temporary use of funds.
emergency funds and reserve funds are savings set aside for financial stability and security with emergency funds specifically designated for unexpected expenses while float refers to the time delay in financial transactions. Each concept plays a role in ensuring financial health and stability in both personal and business finances.
To you (smelody), your quote took forever to scroll pass, it's not useful to quote the whole post instead you should just quote only the few lines you wish to elaborate on.

Although you're a newbie so it's understandable but you should take note henceforth.

Additionally, I guess you didn't get what exactly JayJuanGee was trying to say or you are probably omitting the point. I will buttress in order for you to understand.

There are some of us here in the process of accumulating Bitcoin we tend to see opportunities of selling out our bitcoins in order to accumulate more but this narrative of some is quite wrong. what JJG is trying to say is the idea is not all wrong but for most of us at this stage it's very inappropriate to practice such because we may not still be in the position to sell in order to accumulate more. At this very earliest stage of accumulation we shouldn't be thinking of selling to buy more except we have acquired some certain level of knowledge in the accumulation practice or even gotten a good stash of Bitcoin which might take some years to get to such level.

At the end what his saying is its best to practice buying the dips and hold which is the context of this thread, DCA which is buying bit by bit with some designated amount from your income that would probably never affect your daily cost of living, and Lump Sum buying than go into some strategy of buying to accumulate more that is more risky for this very early stage of accumulation of ours.
650  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please stop asking for "legal tender status" on: February 06, 2024, 11:33:06 PM
The legality of Bitcoin doesn't matter to me as far as I can do what want with it. the only difference is it's not accepted for some transactions. the truth is Bitcoin works viz vice with the current currency of any country.

legal tender doesn't really meant it most be accepted for all transaction but at least it's recognized by the law or it passes through the law for its use in the country. Bitcoin isn't a legal tender but it's not also illegal so it's just a misconception in the term legality.
651  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy bitcoin now? on: February 06, 2024, 11:14:54 PM
Of course you should buy now. who knows what will happen tomorrows, it could go up or down so make use of opportunity now.

Since there is no bad time to buy it's always a good time to enter in to the market, Bitcoin price is 43k-ish now it could go up or down at any time so whenever you meet the market you could just buy because you don't know the next move.

buying the dips is also a very good ideal but why wait for the dips when you can start little with any sensible amount since bitcoin is volatile you don't know if it will keep going or it will dip for you to buy. One good thing about the buying the dips is it serves as a discount to you. you buy cheaper when it dips and that will increase your potential stash.

If you're planning to hold for long term, you just need this three things 1. a good cash flow 2. an emergency funds that can cover up to 4 to 6 months of your expenses and 3. use the three popular accumulation strategy i.e Buy the dips, DCA and lump sum and DCA mostly if you have the three things fixed up then you're good to go.
652  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: February 06, 2024, 11:00:07 PM
But OgNasty, how will you know if one is completely doing the challenge here? I'm starting from tomorrow but how do you know I'm keeping up with your challenge.

I don't care if people keep up with the challenge or not.  I only care about letting them know it's going on so that they too can become stronger individuals.  If you want to fake that you are participating, I'm fine with that.  You are only depriving yourself and with faking it maybe you'll inspire someone else in the process, so I still see it as a positive.
Yeah, it's about personal life so whether one fakes it or not it's really no big deal. For me I'm in to the challenge because I already had intention of building my body so this is just one big opportunity.

It's a win- win process. If I participate I win.
653  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: February 06, 2024, 10:44:44 PM
I'm still a newbie and I'm getting a stash according to my capacity right now and I will love this speculation to emerge, I want it not just a speculation no more but reality.

Well for the 100 pushups per day, I will go into it fully because I'm still very young and I have always wanted some thing encouraging to boost my exercise but with this challenge I'm probably going to achieve both Bitcoin and a health body. And the ideal of breaking it down can help me achieve it, maybe I will be hitting 33 in the morning, 33 in the afternoon and 34 in the evening so I'm good to go.

But OgNasty, how will you know if one is completely doing the challenge here? I'm starting from tomorrow but how do you know I'm keeping up with your challenge.
654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The US Government wants your Bitcoin Miners!? on: February 06, 2024, 10:27:09 PM
After knowing the density of indirect rule of this government or the US as whole in my country I kept wondering to myself what is really the intention of this few people who calls themselves the elites.

The government under the leadership of this elites are just increasingly trying to control the life of everyone directly or indirectly. what exactly are all this details that are required from miners going to do for them, the taxes people pay isn't enough for them, now it's to indirectly control Bitcoin related stuffs that is their sole desire. I pity the citizens of the US who discriminate others who migrates to the US for greener pastures, because if they start getting informed on how they have been manipulated for so long now they will seek freedom or even what to leave such places.

Imagine the US government succeeding with this enactments and as a result makes a rule that will seem so hard for bitcoin miners to keep mining Bitcoin, that will be a catastrophe in the Bitcoin world and with this intention can indirectly manipulate the market to their favour.

All I wish is for all their indirect fights against Bitcoin to fail but anyways we will keep watching and playing our role in Bitcoin for it to keep getting stronger.
655  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling mistake repeated by the gamblers on: February 06, 2024, 09:23:22 PM
You're absolutely right buddy but let's be rational a little bit, greed and over confidence play some good roles in ones gambling life to some extent. as some people have said that if you gamble with a minimum percent from you income you could use it however you wish in gambling and we all know that gambling solely depend on luck which equally means that if one be greedy to an extent of taking some kind of risk in gambling like staking on high odds on bookies or staking multiple choices with the confidence that you can win whatever you gamble on. at this point one could be lucky enough to experience at least once among the many times one could try such risk one at least most get lucky and as such the potential win or over all profit could be so huge that it can settle your losses and even to a 5X of your income if not more.

Note: that this is just my imaginations not reality but if put to work could be come real.
656  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Help me understand this apparent contradiction between bitcoin and inflation on: February 06, 2024, 09:32:09 AM
But if bitcoin is a hedge against inflation then shouldn't the bitcoin price rise when inflation goes up instead of going down?
This most times are biased based on your location, but when it come to global economy what makes Bitcoin price some times falls along side with the inflation is likely as a result of monetary policies taken by the federal reserve which in turn tightens the whole situation for investors and as such Bitcoin price may not or may fall only for some time (very short period) before it then makes a price correction.

I'm guessing the answer would be that inflation causes bitcoin price to go down in the short term, but in the long term causes it to go up? If so then why?
Let's say, it's because after some short period of tight monetary policies (regulations) the Bitcoin price tends to correct itself against the inflation and with investors finding solution around the situations the market will begin to set forward with it's activities and with that little price fall some investors has a taken advantage of it through buying the dips and the demand for Bitcoin increases over time so the price sky rockets for a long period.

Infact as we know Bitcoin is volatile, so after some depreciation what next is appreciation. so soon after the inflation must have cost a little price fall the next thing is price increase and it tends to last for a long time.
657  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The pleasury confussive lives of the youths in the society. on: February 06, 2024, 02:08:01 AM
To be honest man I think everything you wrote here is so biased. maybe this just your feels at this point so you decided to pour your mind with this thread. on a personal level I suppose it's irrelevant to some point but at some point it's important too so I would keep up with it.

There is a 95% tendency that guy's who cheat abuse woman (with words) are all based on fear. every guy had this one girl who he loves and gives all his heart to so at some point the girl feeling her beauty because other guys admire her too will deviate and shatter the heart of this young men as such they will rarely play loyalty to any girls so you see them trying to prove themselves tough guys hence abuse woman who maybe resisted their interest.

The life in which the youths live is balance from my perspective, the women play their roles and the men same too but because we are all biased to our desires we tend to see all other behaviors as ill behaviors.
658  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How would normal Nigerian survive naira inflation on: February 06, 2024, 01:52:26 AM
Actually Nigerians are going to survive no matter what, let me enlighten you a little bit. did you know that even if you're not part of Bitcoin you would have survive the inflation? yes because we are build that we. Nigerians can survive anywhere in life so this inflation is just one of the things that Nigerians will survive. there is a popular quote that says "No matter the price of rice we go still chop" you what that means? no matter the situation we will still survive and the situation in the context is inflation.

Although Bitcoin would have been good to rescue us but not everyone will be part of it. So right now there can't be a specific or fastest as you said solution to this because of so many reasons and the reason are rooted deep down so it's hard to uproot them but we will surely do that.
659  Other / Meta / Re: Chat Board on Bitcointalk on: February 06, 2024, 01:20:57 AM
Sorry to say this yours too could be considered unnecessary because there had been alot of threads asking similar questions.

If you want to keep the forum clear from unnecessary threads you can use the report button, it's very much appreciated if you see topics that are not necessary you can report them and moderators will take not of it, if possible delete them that way irrelevant threads would reduce.

If we chat board I guess the forum already is a chat ground that people discuss (chat) globally.
660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 8 Red flags crypto Investment, Avoid when you see this on: February 05, 2024, 11:30:19 PM
Among the 8 red flags of crypto scams I still believe that some of this projects surpasses this stages of we considering them scams and yet they are scams. Some scam crypto projects are working tirelessly to prove otherwise by bring an ATH that will attract investors then it starts taken a fall and hence they use Bitcoin as an example for hope of this project to reach its ATH again because Bitcoin did same too.

Another scam I can't probably fall for is the ponzi scheme scam. I always considered every project that promises some too good to be truth return as scam be cause I know nobody is here to loss so why will a project promises all this at there loss, that's the greatest red flag for me.
