Paycoin made a name for itself in few days. I can't think of any coin that has done it in such short time. Call it ponzi, call it scam or whatever you want but it has achieved what all crypto can only wish for in such short amount of time.
Fat pockets for a select few. I guess you're right...it went exactly as planned

iGotSpots, I need help.... I just downloaded the wallet from the website and installed it. It downloaded the blockchain and said up to date. Checked the blockchain and I am up to date with block 105648 I sent some MMXIV from Bittrex (20.74562742), confirmed the Email and it says completed on Bittrex. Transaction ID: 74cc1657480b3cc2be98ea2063443488e4821c3ca7df989811fc8de56424fa2e wallet address: MseyxVPn2YuJ5tmdyffUQhDYPoMxFfFQdf Nothing shows up in my wallet and transaction ID does not show on block explorer. Also when I type in my wallet address on the block explorer it says Address not seen on the network. Wallet says it has 6 active connections to the network. Getinfo is { "version" : "v1.0.8.0-g135dd35-beta", "protocolversion" : 60080, "walletversion" : 60000, "balance" : 0.00000000, "newmint" : 0.00000000, "stake" : 0.00000000, "blocks" : 105648, "moneysupply" : 7021.37875200, "connections" : 6, "proxy" : "", "ip" : "70.72.39.245", "difficulty" : 3.86673169, "testnet" : false, "keypoololdest" : 1420158523, "keypoolsize" : 101, "paytxfee" : 0.00000000, "errors" : "" } Where are my coins and how do I get them into my wallet? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) I am slightly panicked here...do not want to lose them Sometimes Bittrex withdrawals are delayed for some reason. Don't worry, as long as the address is correct they will come through

Thank you, I did not know that.
Every time I start to feel bad for being mean, you say something else snarky. I feel bad now. Let's start 2015 off on a better note

Some people in IRC are renting and pointing the rigs at the Scrypt port at pool.mmxivcoin.comJoin in! The more miners we have, the more everyone will make! Just mining on the pool automatically enters you in a random MMXIV giveaway. Random addresses will receive random amounts to say thanks for mining with us ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) How does that math work? I thought all coins mined were sold and then converted to M-Coin. How will my earnings go up if more people mine? Isn't my reward going to the same proportionately (in theory)? How are payments adjusted according to the total hash rate? And are you calling it MMXIV again now? More hashrate = more blocks found = each share is worth more MMXIV Yes, but if blocks found is proportional to hash rate (and it is) and shares are proportional to hash rate and payout is proportional to shares earned, then I see no way to earn "more" if more miners join. If for example today I earned 1% of all shares, and the pool earned 10 M coin, I get 1% of the 10 M coin, or 0.1M. If the mining doubles tomorrow (but my rig output remains the same) and as a result I earn 0.5% of all shares and the pool earns 20 M coins, I get 0.5% of the M coin which works out to be the same amount, 0.1M. Please don't mine on the pool if you really are this stupid Please someone explain where I am wrong. If I am wrong I will admit it. I am trying to understand. The ratio of finding a block to increasing hashrate is multiplicative, not additive. Double the hashrate will find more than double the blocks. This is why pools are successful

hmm... depends on how much you've mined. got ~1k each of both last shifts by throwing my aux 6x750 rig some couple hours every other now and then over the last few days... however, multipools are just a nice convenient thing. you might make better deals when you cherry pick coins and trade them yourself to buy a bag of balls...or you let the pool do the job... that previous shift was a little long so I as well became cautious but remember... holidays ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) btw. one has to witness the moment when those bucks go staking, what a drop ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) ... after that very moment it all so clear why they're called <snowballs> I'm referring to the 8,680 total BALLS paid out for the entire pool, in the shift history - not just mine. Shift ending Sun Dec 21 was only 2 days, found 1/4 as many blocks and paid out 20,792 BALLS 6 days is the longest shift the pool has ever had, and paid out pretty miserably compared to other 1 or 2 day shifts. I am guessing we are mining the wrong coin - mining BTC would have paid out way, way better Not all coins are traded on one shift. You will probably get payments for that shift over the next few shifts even if you stopped mining now. Each different coin mined has different confirmation times for mined blocks, etc This is my guess, ThePeePs is the only one that knows for sure What Spots said is correct. You also have to keep in mind that the prices of the coins being mined change too, so it's not always the same... I too was very disappointed in the payout. I was hoping to see a nice buy up (to kick up the price) and a nice large number of BALLS to be paied out.. ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) Sadly that wasn't the case. I checked and we didn't go on a fork of any of the coins, so it may have just been a bad few days of mining. I've had rentals that still got paid for 2 or 3 shifts after they ended

auroracoin was likely the biggest scam so far
... paycoin comes close to that now ...

Yes you can Are there any real-world examples of people who live off securing the networks and processing the transactions of PoS blockchains?
Maybe the guy(s) that run just dice staking mega clams, or cryptsy owners staking other people's coins. Probably not if you're just an individual staking your own personal stash tho. Cryptsy has always staked your balances on top of fees. Double dip

...haha ...left my wallet running and that amazing thing won't stop dropping blobs of coins like a ticking snowball cannon ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) ... that was no joke with the 1000%...duude, lol... first wallet I voluntarily leave open and running for staking. I'd say, mission acomplished... award for some serious user entertainment... could have as well named them 'tribbles' btw. nice way how that diff chart resembles the snowball 'heartbeat' 6 day shift on the multipool and only 8,680 BALLS paid out? Did something go wrong? I was expecting about 10x that, especially with the price drop the past couple days.
X11 pulled in a cool 40k ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) yup... was pretty surprised myself as I gave the pool like 10 maybe 15 percent mining time at most, and nothing when the shift exceeded 3 days... and I went away with ~1.6k balls... and after watching them doing their stake-thing... holysht... well, one can call it a one trick pony... now, with some dead serious bad ass mofo molahplicator trick and a half ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) I take it that means you enjoy it? ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

I will never understand why you guys are undercutting each other by like .005 BTC each with dust. You could be making triple that, it was .03 earlier

Who cares? Eventually even geniuses stuck in old ways become outdated and irrelevant

People got robbed. Again. For not personally securing their wealth. You guys really need to stop leaving coins on sites. Some will rob you blind and others (Cryptsy) will just stake your balance and double dip making money off of you on top of trade fees, dumping the coins and lowering everyone's holdings
Leaving coins on exchange gives you two options: robbed quickly, or slowly bled to death

it seems to me with the new wallet I'm staking quite as much.. am I jumping the gun here or is there something to this?
Nothing of the sort has changed. If it did, there would be a fork and the two clients would no longer talk to each other

Mintpal is goxxed, there's a little chance to get your coins back, better to let it go. I feel sorry for your loss, sometimes we learn something in a hard way
think before writing. Check the thread for my last two comments. Everyone will get their altcoins back. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=824211.msg9993288#msg9993288i hate negative people who give in immediately . I really hate those weak people who constantly claim nothing could be done and everything would be lost. Just go away with your despair. If you have nothing else to say than "we have no chance to get the coins back" then better shut your mouth because you're of no help and you're actually wrong! This case is different because the person sits in front of the judge already. Don't mess this up or they will rob you blind in the future again because you let them get away with it. Get your coins back you weak sheep or just STFU! I'll loose my mind next time i see a comment like this, seriously! You weaklings disgust me. You're literally inviting people to take your money from your with you way of thinking. Grow some balls! Be angry! Use your brain! Nothing is lost. You can prove what adresses belong to mintpal exchange and you can prove your transactions from and to mintpal. All balances can be told. All coins will come back because they can't be stolen. You can not steal a single cryptocoin the very moment you aren't 100% anon - and that guy is actually in front of court already. So please, please spare us your desperate comments and your messages of helplessness and defeat. Seriously. These comments admitting defeat hurt my brain. Funny that someone with your username can argue so vehemently against what it means. Irony is never in short supply here Anyway regarding the stolen coins...you're fucked
