6421  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is way down today on: July 11, 2019, 04:12:20 PM
Do you know how to protect your cryptocurrency from whale ‘rinse and repeat’ trades?

yes i do, when price is down, you buy instead of sitting around crying about the little dip we had. that way when the whales sell you buy and increase your size to eventually become a whale.

This one, why don't you just relax and not panic and just buy in every dip. I guess this is another classic example of a newbie panickng when there is a slight changes in the price and their portfolio's value dwindling as per USD. To the OP, just relax we are already in a bullish market, you just need to learn to control your emotions and have mental toughness.
6422  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does Facebooks's Libra cause the growth of bitcoin? on: July 11, 2019, 03:59:27 PM
For those who thinks Libra causes the growth of bitcoin, where was Libra when we reached 20K high? When 20K high happened? Soon after halving which caused stable 600$ which then reached unbelievable (at the moment) 1000$ price and this positive which was lit caused further rise where we finally reached 20K. Ok, imagine libra causes growth of bitcoin, you may know that there is some issue between facebook's libra and us government, what if Libra will dive and bitcoin will continue to grow?

That is right, we are already in a bull-run even prior to the announcement of Facebook rolling out their Libra coin. That's why is really it's really inappropriate to say that with all the news about it is the main driver for pushing the price higher. Bitcoin has been here, seen the worst, the only factor that can really affect the market is the supply and demand and not this so called coin.

The funny thing is when the price took a dip in the last 24 hours, media are also blaming it to Libra, because the US lawmakers or the Feds wanted to run a full investigation on it.
6423  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-07-11] Bitcoin Price Slips 10% in 24 Hrs as Fed Raises Facebook Libra... on: July 11, 2019, 10:51:10 AM
The funny thing is, they said that Libra is the main factor why the price of Bitcoin suddenly surges past 5 digits and then they blame it for the sudden slip in the last 24 hours? LOL.

We have seen this pattern in the last couple of months,, I guess that $13,000 is a big mental barrier for most investors and speculators, that's why when he hit it, selling occurs. I don't think that it has something to do with the Fed or US law makers concern. That news is already out since the last week of June so there is no correlation what so ever. It's just simply booking profit at $13,000 and then buying in dip, rinse and repeat.
6424  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Blockchain Replace Banks? on: July 11, 2019, 10:41:17 AM
Not gonna happen, we love blockchain technology but I don't think it will totally replace or make bank obsolete, simply because banking system is a business, no one would allow their business to be swept just because a new technology emerge.

Right now banks are seeing the potential, that's why even banking system around the world are totally split as far as crypto or blockchain goes. There are majority who sees crypto not a competition but rather a model wherein both banks and crypto's can exist. While on the other side, there are the old and traditional way of thinking, crypto is negative and disrupting the banking ecosystem.
6425  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin seems to drop faster than rises on: July 11, 2019, 10:34:12 AM
It seems to me that while BTC clearly goes up over time, the drops seem much more steep eg x 2 or 3 than the rises almost always.

Why is this?

It seems the one predictable thing about BTC.

Most assets trade like that. It's not particular to the BTC market. There's an old adage about it: "The market takes the stairs up and the elevator down."

Right, so for newbie traders this is an eye opener for them, FOMO'd and then got burned easily. So they can either stay and learn from this experience and continue their journey, so simply exit. But for those who have been in this market, it doesn't surprise them at all. It is how you react and take advantage of every spike and then buying in every dip, win-win situation.
6426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao vs Keith Thurman on July 20 on: July 10, 2019, 08:02:20 PM
I initially thought that Manny Pacquiao doesn't want any of his son to follow in his footsteps, specially inside the boxing ring. So I'm surprised that he allowed his son to go side by side with him in his training regimen.
It's just training but i doubt that Jimuel will turn pro as Jinky (Manny's wife) is against the idea of Jimuel boxing. For me it's just television exposure as Jimuel is into showbiz in the Philippines.

That's what my initial thought too. Jinky is very protective that's why I was surprised to him training and then some video of him fighting. Jinky knows Manny's path to boxing greatness is not that easy that's why she doesn't want any of his boys to turn into boxing. But being a actor in the Philippines? another disastrous career.  Grin

@darklus123 - I think that was the plan after all, chase big money fights, including Spence or even Terrence Crawford. So let's see if Manny's body can hold up and still go with this young boxers right now.
6427  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Crypto Cold Wallet on a smartcard NFC/Contact on: July 10, 2019, 07:37:31 PM
Please secure your website first, people won't simply trust anyone who is fairly new in the market.

Second, what are your advantages on existing cold wallets in the market?

You should at least learn how to market your product here in the community. Maybe offer discounts or something so that they can give you a honest review.
6428  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance glitch revealing next coin? on: July 10, 2019, 07:26:21 PM
I cannot find any Binance news announcing that they are going to list UKEY. But I can't be certain if this is a glitch on their system or what and the first time I have heard about this so called "glitch". Someone says that he has saw this phenomena before but I still have my doubts. Anyways, I'm not into this coin, so my only advise is just be careful, if you are going to ride, put a exit plan, so that you won't get trap, once the pumpers are done with their thing.
6429  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: July 10, 2019, 07:15:13 PM
So we will see an epic semi-finals for this years Wimbledon. It will be Federer vs Nadal, winner facing Djokovic vs Bautista Agut. Who you guys think will win this match? Federer lost the first set against Nishikori but dominated the last 3. While Nadal just steam roll Querrey which I thought will give Nadal a run for his money. I'm seeing a five setter between the greats, and I'm leaning towards Roger here and win in a dramatic fashion.

@Daniel91 - Yup Bautista-Agut seems to have the tools to bet Djokovic, so it will be a very intriguing match as well. But I will go with Djokovic here, he won't allow Wimbledon slip, this is a big tournament wherein the big 3 is on top of their game.
6430  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: remember that time satoshi Created a p2p e-cash sent directly from one party to on: July 10, 2019, 07:05:16 PM
P2P is still alive as far as I know, there are people who do transactions everyday using their Bitcoin. So if you look at the early days, price just started around less than $0.01 then slowly gains momentum, skyrocketed to almost $20,000. So people started to see things in different angle, they saw that they can really make money of out this market and this is the main driver.

But it doesn't mean that we can't used Bitcoin for P2P, maybe it's not as we wanted it see being an speculative asset. Adoption is slow, not all merchants are accepting it, but I think we are slowly getting there with LN implementation.
6431  Economy / Speculation / Re: Analyst claim Bitcoin will easily surpass $15,000 if it gets $10,000 on: July 10, 2019, 12:15:08 PM
This was a prediction that striked the market when the price was close around $9500. Further after crossing we've reached value close to $14000 and has undergone price correction. Now the prediction is related to the $15k, crossing $15k will easily let the market price of bitcoin reach $20000+ value. Every prediction won't coincide with the reality. Let's hope the good market move takes place at the earliest.

Yeah but we just breached the $13,000 barrier again. So there might be a new set of FOMO that might push the price to $14,000. But I'm not expecting a sudden jump to $15,000 yet. Maybe we can see smart investors booking their profits at $14,000, does make sense. If that happens then it might takes some months again to try and retest certain price until we reach that $15,000. It's not gonna be an easy ride, that's for sure.
6432  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-06-22]Russian Ministry of Finance Considers Allowing Cryptocurrency Tradin on: July 10, 2019, 11:50:24 AM
Nah, I wouldn't take Russia seriously, they have been in the crypto in the boom in 2017, they didn't do anything, and what you think that they will suddenly change their mind? Everything should be taken with a bag of salt, they totally contradict themselves, and you don't know who should be the single agencies that will take care of everything related to crypto. I will stand on my believed that there will be no regulations or even consideration anything that relates to crypto in that country.
6433  Economy / Economics / Re: Money, crypto, IEOs. Infographics on: July 10, 2019, 11:40:47 AM
What do you expect? Investors are really looking for the next big thing in crypto, so obviously there's a lot of hype around these so called IEO nowadays. I mean the whole business models challenges what we perceived initially. So ICO are really exposed big-time, investors are now shifting to the next new model, but the same exact results, making more money for them.

But some drawbacks are just only a few investors can really participate. Haven't heard some average Joe's putting as little as investment as they can and turn it big in IEO's. Plus, launchpad should also stop this sort of "magic selling", tokens sold in less than a minute?
6434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao vs Keith Thurman on July 20 on: July 10, 2019, 08:34:05 AM
Going back to Manny, I saw on local TV that he is training together with his son Jimuel.

So he is training his son to follow his foot step? I think that's a lot of pressure for the son as his father will soon become a hall of famer and a legend.

Good luck to him -  Grin

I initially thought that Manny Pacquiao doesn't want any of his son to follow in his footsteps, specially inside the boxing ring. So I'm surprised that he allowed his son to go side by side with him in his training regimen.

There could be a lot of pressures, just look at Chavez Jr, he did try to be like his father. In the beginning he was very successful, however, when they step up on opposition, they see the Chavez Jr doesn't have the skills that his father has. I'm not saying that Jimuel will not be great, but it's going to be difficult to follow what is father did to boxing. So let's see, and I'm sure many will follow this kid's career.
6435  Economy / Speculation / Re: somebody pulled the flush yesterday on: July 10, 2019, 08:17:27 AM
Thus it looks the final run is going to happen?
Setting into another huge jump yesterday will link into my mind that people aren't selling it low but keeping their BTC at their hands instead. As we look into another bull run, it is an absolute help to the market. But might FOMOing will soon to rise in the coming days.

We are trying to break the $13k barrier again, remember the last time we touch it, we didn't even last, in less than 24 hours, the price dip, indicative there people are simply trying to book for their profit. Of course FOMOing will always be there, but they are inexperienced, that's why they panic when the price seems to go down and seeing their portfolio losses in relation to USD, they simply pull the trigger.

So it's going to cyclical, more FOMO, wise investors book their profit. So let's see if they FOMO at $13000-$13500. But then I wouldn't surprised if we see another pullback after that.

6437  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: July 09, 2019, 11:05:17 PM
Nadal, Federer and Djokovic are all through to the next round. Nadal looked good in he's match with Tsonga who I thought might give Nadal a tough match but it wasn't to be as Nadal won easy in straight sets. Same with Federer who won in straight sets, Djokovic had to fight it out for the first two sets but won the remaining two easy. Its looking like it will be either one of these three in the final once again.

The top 3 are through to the next round as they won against their respective rival at ease, taking 3 sets. So they are now moving to the quarter-finals. Hard to predict as this three players are really playing high level tennis above the rest. Raonic lost though, but Sam Querrey won in a hard fought 4 setter match. Interesting to see how can he progress.

I think the curse of being the women's number one continues, as recent number one women's, Ash Barty have lost world number 55 Riske, 3-6 6-2 6-3. Riske will now face a resurgent Serena Williams in quarter-finals.

Yeah the top 3 look in very good form heading into the quarter finals, they won all their matches easily but now its coming down to the business end so we'll see how they go. Raonic lost an epic 5 set match after winning the first two sets, he was one player I thought could challenge the top 3.

Yeah its a shame that Barty lost but Riske does have good form against her as she beat Barty at Wimbledon last year I believe or it could of been the year before so for me it was no surprise to see this happen. Maybe its Konta's year to win her countries Grand Slam? after she fought back well to beat Kvitova who was no easy opponent.

Unfortunately, Konta wasn't able to maintained her momentum as she succumb to Strýcová. It was a good first set, and it looks like Konta has a total breakdown on the second and lost 6-1.

Serena bet Barty's conqueror, Riske. So a semi-final has been set between S. Williams and Strýcová. I will go with Serena here. On the other side of the bracket, Halep vs Svitolina, I'll go with Halep.

On the men's side, I think Federer and Djokovic will go through the next round. But Nadal will have a tough match with Sam Quarrey, who looks like had gotten this second win.
6438  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What are you looking in a DEX? on: July 09, 2019, 10:43:45 PM
How can a centralized dex be a dex?  Huh Am i missing something.

I thought binance was developing a dex, but other than a few articles i can't find anything about it anymore.

https://www.binance.org/en/trade/BZNT-464_BNB - It's the .org - is this DEX fully "decentralized"? Is it worth using over the "normal" binance? Doesn't seem to have a lot of pairs or volume yet.
Looks better than any of the decentralized exchanges i've seen so far though.

Right only few trading pairs right now, but it seems there's a pipeline and they are slowly integrating tokens/pair listing. Here, you can check it out, (https://twitter.com/binance_dex?lang=en).

Definitely, we should look at liquidity, only as far as I know DEX offer only a small set of options and pointed up by @timerland, That's why newbie and experienced traders still prefer trusted centralized exchange today.
6439  Economy / Economics / Re: If a pyramid runs forever, is it still a pyramid? on: July 09, 2019, 10:21:15 PM
I think there is no pyramid that will run forever, either they get bankrupt in the long run or they get stopped by the government.

This one. I don't think that an illegitimate business can run forever. Sure they can hide and camouflage it, but sooner or later they will be unmasked.

I know some long run ponzi scheme which ran for 5 years already with millions of members, they give a return of at least 30% per month and they have a lot of business under the name of the investment scheme, there was no complaint from clients but the government sees this is a big risk as they offer a big percentage which they cannot justify properly, the stand of the government is no investment can give you a consistent 30% per month.

The government job here is to prevent if it's still possible so stopping a ponzi could end it's operation abruptly.

That is the big factor here, the government, in our country I have heard a lot of pyramiding scheme since I was a little, and no matter how they try to hide, it will eventually fall. Either the people behind the bottom is the scheme complain because they have not received their commission, or the government will step in and crush the scheme for good.

And the loser? Those investors who fall for this kind of trap and nothing has changed for the last 40-50 years.
6440  Economy / Speculation / Re: Billionaire wants to buy 25% of the bitcoin supply on: July 09, 2019, 10:14:37 PM
I wonder how that would affect things. The average person would not like some dude owning 25% of the supply.
Even the rich people who let's say can afford to buy, but I doubt they will risk their money for that big supply in bitcoin knowing that's a risky investment.

On the contrary some average dude would love to see something like that to happen, why? Because he knows that the price will pick up, his portfolio grows and everyone is happy. On the downside, he can be a big player, a whale than can manipulated the price in his favor. If might not be that easy to do, but having such enormous amount of Bitcoin is definitely a plus for him.

Those whales has deep pocket, and I'm sure they own their money through investments so they definitely will factor in the risk, if ever they wanted to join the fun in this market.
