6441  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In what ways Bitcoin is different from traditional currencies? on: September 20, 2019, 10:01:32 AM
The decentralization nature of bitcoin has to be the most important feature it has over all traditional currencies. The other features aren't much special anymore as we have traditional currencies which can be transacted digitally and some are been operated on the blockchain in the form of stablecoin although they aren't as decentralized as bitcoin.

When it come to fast transaction, bitcoin is no longer leading the charts same goes for fees and most of the rest features although the fact bitcoin is totally decentralized, has limited supply and its transactions are irreversible without the knowledge of the other party is the advantage bitcoin has as a currency over other currency, be it traditional (fiats) or digital currency.
6442  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is there any reason to day trade anything other than bitcoin? on: September 20, 2019, 09:43:56 AM
Most altcoins are more attractive to the newbie traders trying to get lucky. Trading altcoins, you need to be a very vigilant trader and time aware.

You never know when the pump or dump is going to end and when the project owners are going to sell out their tokens.

That's why in my opinion altcoins are the most interesting coins to trade. The industry (altcoin industry) is so unpredictable that if you're at the right place at the right time and make the right decision you can profit massively than trading bitcoin. Trading bitcoin isn't that profitable with small capital like altcoins although you have to pick the correct period to engaging in trading them.

The current market period doesn't encourage Altcoin trading neither does it encourage investing in any random project out there. We're in the season of bitcoin trading, while holding your altcoins with hopes of future price increase. Very soon the bitcoin market will experience mostly uptrend as we build toward the halving of block reward incident then trading will become less profitable compared to holding.
6443  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do not ignore the small profits in Bitcoin investments. on: September 20, 2019, 09:30:11 AM
A lot of people make the same mistake by being too greedy, and ignoring the small profits and not using the proven recipe for success in Bitcoin by buying low and selling high.

They're not been greedy instead acting smart. Day trading or trading in general isn't an activity everyone's can partake in. Sometimes it can favor you although majority of the time it won't. Investing is quite different from trading, if you're trying to encourage forum members into trading for profit then you first have to emphasize on the importance of acquired the required knowledge and skills needed to profit from trading.

It's quite tempting to try to profit from the small gains whenever you see them but if you inquire from those who have been in the industry for quite a long period of time, they'll review "Ignoring the small profit" is quite the best decisions you can ever take as history has always proven, "hodlers profit the most with less stress".

6444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many gambling sites are you playing and do you use the same strategy on: September 20, 2019, 07:37:03 AM
Currently the only gambling platform I'm on is the premier league prediction game carried out through the Superbru platform. My strategy isn't quite working great for me as I'm currently standing at the 2nd to last position although I joined two weeks late compared to others still that's no excuse for my poor performance so far but I'll be working on that anything soon.

Previously I have been relying on the wide card, giving unfavorable teams a chance to prove themselves but not much have impress me. Starting this week I'll be applying a different approach and hopefully my success rate will improve.
6445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: September 20, 2019, 07:23:17 AM
Chelsea vs Liverpool should be a great match. Both teams lost midweek although you could say both possibly didn’t deserve to lose. Chelsea missed a penalty which would have made it 1-1 & Liverpool conceded a penalty which shouldn’t have been given. I really don’t understand what is the point of VAR if it doesn’t change wrong decisions.

Any way, I think Chelsea vs Liverpool will be a close one, maybe a draw.

I foresee a total of five (5) goal in the match don't know or can't predict exactly how it would be divided but the advantage is in favor of Liverpool. For starters they have been the impressive team this season winning five game out of give while scoring an average of 3 goals per game. Therefore scoring 3goals against Chelsea won't be a problem unless the miracle of Stamford bridge comes to our aid.

Chelsea on the other hand are capable of scoring 2 or more goals considering the impressed form Abraham and Mount are currently in. Hopefully will can force the UCL championship to a draw as we'll be having the home advantage factor or possibly take the whole three point with a 3:2 win although losing to Liverpool won't be anything to be ashamed of nevertheless I'm expecting a wonderful performance form Chelsea. This will be liverpool's first big test of the season.
6446  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Altcoin give-away rule results in temporary bans. Read before posting. on: September 20, 2019, 06:20:55 AM
With this rule, the forum is actually doing her users more good than harm. The creators of these altcoins giveway threads, take advantage of the worthlessness of their tokens to get free works done just like airdrops and most bounty campaigns. It still surprises me why people would apply to participate in a giveway where the guarantee of them getting the value of their work done isn't assured and if they were to recieve the tokens, the value (as promised won't be guaranteed).

For those who aren't aware of the rules, that's just them been ignorant as the rules is clearly outlined on the Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ and also pinned on the altcoin discussion board. It's quite time people that taking responsibility for their mistakes as the forum can't be blame for not sending an earlier warning.
6447  Economy / Reputation / Re: Need community input. on: September 19, 2019, 11:41:08 AM
If you can do this and do it right then kudos to you. What many people fail to understand is the experience and tools used by most experiencing scam busters aren't available to the average Joe out there. Another possible solution would be to outlined in guidelines and steps on how to identify these scams then let the managers do it themselves through your guidance. Although your experience is sometime that would give you an advantage over others (average bounty manger out there) in regards to identify the scams faster.

The problem with most cooperation between different individuals is the monetary motives of each of these individuals. Just hoping, if this idea finally comes into reality it wont be bought like every ICO/IEO, scam rating platforms out there. Hope you won't let bribes overshadow your judgement of which campaign is a scam or not. If you can put that to check then I'm in support of the idea.
6448  Economy / Marketplace / Re: What’s Stopping Crypto Markets from Entering the Mainstream on: September 18, 2019, 08:06:17 PM
What do you think is the real reason Crypto is not becoming Mainstream?

Lack of trust, would be the obvious answer but when you come to think of it, bitcoin has already done quite well for itself over the years. It's steadily becoming a house hold name in just 10 years of existence. The like of bitcoin bonds, future contract trading and soon to be approved "ETF"are already mainstream material. Which means bitcoin is becoming mainstream as the day passing by.

Although bitcoin isn't yet where we thought it'll be by now, it success story has proven there's more room to achieve even more greater success, which achieving the mainstream attention is one of does. The approval of ETF could take the currency to another whole level of success. Let's give it (bitcoin) more time to continue proving its worth, maybe more 10 years.
6449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Nigerian crypto educator returns $80k in bitcoin recieve by mistake. on: September 18, 2019, 07:22:42 PM
This threads is as a respond to the numerous replies on my previous thread; Sad News: Kidnappers now requesting bitcoin as ransom in Nigeria proclaiming everything Nigeria is been associated with negatively. The actual truth is the good/positive incident aren't been circulated like the negative news. The media are mostly interested in painting the country bad. This incident of a bitcoin entrepreneur returing 7.8 BTC (worth around $80,000 when the transaction occurs) is an example we do have good individuals among us. I did follow the development of the story when i saw his tweet informing about the mistake although I'll be linking you guys to a more reliable source.

Keith Mali Chung — the co-founder and president of African blockchain firm Loopblock Network — has returned almost $80,000 worth of Bitcoin (BTC) mistakenly sent to his wallet.

Chung — who goes by the Twitter handle of “Bitcoin Keith (The African Bitcoin Bull)” — tweeted about the incident on Sept. 12:
“I received huge sum of BTC from an unknown sender and it’s definitely a mistake from someone I must have had transaction with before, Kindly DM me time of transaction, your adress and exact digits sent..
thank you. Kindly retweet”

In a further update on Sept. 13, Chung revealed that the exact sum of apparently accidentally transferred Bitcoin was 7.8 BTC — worth $79,482 to press time. He also indicated that the sender who remains anonymous had responded to his request, meaning he was able to return the funds. He explained:

“In Africa, which is where I am situated, 80% we transact Cryptos through WhatsApp escrows and someone who himself and I had business in the past made this huge mistake of sending 7.8BTC into my blockchain wallet. I spread the words round & he reached out.”

Chung’s actions earned him significant social media acclaim and even the moniker of “African/Nigerian good samaritan” on crypto Twitter. Had he failed to identify the sender, he had pledged to donate the accidentally-gotten proceeds to Binance, which organizes a series of philanthropic projects via its charity arm, Binance Charity.

In conclusion, Nigerians are enthusiast of this currency (bitcoin), Any Nigerian who have encounter the currency and invested wisely can testify it has had more effects in their life than the government had during that timeframe😁 all I'm trying to say is we mean well towards the adoption of the currency. Although this is a story of just one individual, there are many of us out there who would had done the same.
6450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sad News: Kidnappers now requesting bitcoin as ransom in Nigeria on: September 17, 2019, 09:36:59 PM
Sadly you are making it sound like Nigerians are kidnapping people because bitcoin now exists.

May I rephrase that statement of yours, "Kidnappers in Nigeria and not Nigerians are kidnapping" because your statement sounds like you're referring to all Nigerians as kidnappers, which weren't as thia activity can be found in every part of the world. Now to clear you, the thread was created to express my worries on the image of the currency in the country. When things like this happen we the enthusiast pay the price like i explained in OP. The cash ransoms are sometimes traceable especially when the police are interesting in apprehending the suspects involved but with bitcoin that's almost impossible.

The thread was created to highlight this issue, thought I'll get some replied close to potential solutions to this problem. Seen some interesting suggestion like blacklist of address and any address associated with that account to prevent this guys from profiting from the anonymousity of bitcoin but doubt how effective that'll be.
6451  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: September 17, 2019, 02:06:00 PM
We'll be meeting the best team in Europe (Liverpool) and probably the best currently in the premier for our next game. It won't be a shame if we lose...
If Chelsea can beat Liverpool, then they are real contenders for the title.

I don't think anyone is expecting Chelsea to contend for the title this season. The main goal is securing a spot in the champions league next season which can only be done by ending the season in top 4 or winning the champions league.  Anyone expecting us to win it all this season is day dreaming although it's football and anything is possible.

Lampard will need more that 1 transfer window before we can start demanding he brings the premier league title home. For now we have eyes on other cups he can probably win to complement the wonderful season i foresee him having.
6452  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Cock Fighting on: September 17, 2019, 01:49:08 PM
Anyone here tried to gamble with cock fighting?
And maybe you know some websites that accepting Bitcoin.

In my geographical location, I don't think we have such online platform although that doesn't mean we don't gambling on cock or other animals fighting. We do this manually, we gamble on all type of animals ranging from size to size. These fight are hosted in fight club built just for that purpose.

Bets are place then the animals are released from their cages sometimes, the fight result to death other times the defeated animal gives a signal either through their posture or showing less interest in the fight.
6453  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most of gamblers are rich or poor? on: September 17, 2019, 01:35:42 PM
Depends on the game you are using to determine the results of poll. First you have to understand both the rich and poor gamble. The poor gamble with the hope to become rich while the rich gamble with the mindset of just catching fun sometimes or to double their riches. Hardly before you see a poor man/woman gambling just for fun. Therefore considering most gambler game to make profit then it's save to say, majority of the gamblers aren't rich so gambling to earn extra income or with the hope to become rich.

To back my statement, just try observing the game which record mostly rich individuals gambling like Golf and that of the poor (plus middle class) individuals like soccer (although both categories of financial status can gamble on both platforms) you will observe there are more individuals on the soccer platform trying to profit unlike the golf platform.
6454  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sad News: Kidnappers now requesting bitcoin as ransom in Nigeria on: September 17, 2019, 10:50:59 AM
lol. Your screenshot shows that the ransom was asked in 2018. They are not realy smart to ask for BTC, it is easily traceable . If they were smart they would ask for some crypto which is privacy oriented.

Revisit the image, that's a twitter account that tweet facts about Africa. All the account is trying to points out was that something similar happen in 2018 in South Africa. Then the account tweeted the recent incident of kidnappers demanding bitcoin in Nigeria, 2019. Read the OP clearly also, i have already inserter links to verifiable sources of the development dating back to 2018 when CNN first reported the news of kidnappers demanding ransom to be paid in bitcoin in South Africa.

Also included the link to the recent reported incident of kidnappers (in Nigeria) demanding ransom to be paid in bitcoin (which has already been paid).
6455  Other / Meta / Re: Special badge for signature campaign managers? on: September 17, 2019, 10:29:54 AM
Before you suggest for the forum to acknowledge signature managers, you first have to recommend the moderation of signature campaign, which type is accepted on the forum, rule for signature management and all that. The forum can't acknowledge them if that sector isn't been moderated. The moderators, admin etc have an outlined guideline that give them an idea of their duty that's why they're been recognized with tags.

The signature mangers just like merit sources are like every other regular users of the forum meaning the need for recognition isn't necessary. Anyone can become a merit source, anyone can become a signature manager but not anyone can become a moderator (adminstrative forum user). You have to meet some certain criteria to become a moderator but it take only the approved of the project been promoted to become a signature manger.
6456  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Could you recommend me educational websites to learn cryptocurrencies on: September 17, 2019, 09:59:18 AM
You're in luck as the forums users have provide different guidelines which can assist any individual to have an idea of what bitcoin and cryptocurrency is all about. You can use the search button above and get all the necessary information you need. The informations on the forum are more accurate as the compliers of those information already has an ideal of what to search for and incase there is a wrong information, we have members who'll notify the OP to remove such information as they're misleading.

Having said all this, this thread; 5 Resources to teach Average Joe about Bitcoin. is the most details guidelines i have encountered on the forum. Hope it serve the purpose of your interest. Welcome to the forum.
6457  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: {Warning}: Ledger Phishing Attempt and Clone Website on: September 17, 2019, 07:09:17 AM
I do understand security should be a personal business but that doesn't mean the advertisment big houses should show less concerned towards the safety of its users. What stop Google from reviewing every ad to reject potential harmful ones before they approved them for display.

Browsing through sites you will encountered hundreds of ad usually associate with Google AdSense which could be dangerous to devices or wallets. Somehow I feel this ad platforms are not doing enough to protect its users. If they were doing enough couple with the extra personal security measure from her users, we would had been recordings less number (or probably no number) of victims falling prey to this scams. Anyways good job OP creating this awareness.
6458  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Sad News: Kidnappers now requesting bitcoin as ransom in Nigeria {Gov might ban} on: September 16, 2019, 09:16:16 PM
It's quite a sad time to be a bitcoin (cryptocurrency) enthusiast in Nigeria. While we're trying to spread the positive benefits of the currency across the country and Africa continent as a whole irrespective of the government showing negative signs towards the currency, we have recorded some set backs. Each time we take one step forward the bad eggs of the nation take advantage of the hype and leverage on the anonymousity of the currency. First it was the news of Nigerians using the currency to defraud foreigners, since it was easier and they can't be tracked easily. That development lead to a serious attack on account associated with bitcoin transaction irrespective of your source of income. Some accounts  were reportedly frozen while others were blocked for some days (can't confirm this though since I wasn't affected directly).

Recently, the kidnappers are using it to stay anonymous and avoid been traced. The first time such incident was recorded on the continent was when some Kidnappers requested a random of $120,000 to be paid in bitcoin to release a 13yrs old teenager in South Africa.{CNN reports} now the Nigerians (kidnappers) are buying into the idea of using the currency for their dirty operations. It worries me because what ever Nigerians are engaged in an activity be it good or bad they do it to the extend it becomes a trend which will definitely bring about more regulation and probably a ban on the usages or association with the cryptocurrencies in the country.

The recent development [Kidnappers free Abuja victim after ‘$15,000 ransom paid in bitcoin] will definite damage the image of the currency in the country and around the whole especially Africa, if it becomes a trend. What are the possible solution to avoid this trend becoming an easy way out for the kidnappers thereby spoiling the currency image. And what's your take on this issue.

In other positive news: Nigerian crypto educator returns $80k in bitcoin recieve by mistake.
6459  Other / Meta / Re: Why my acccount banned, RACIST FORUM on: September 16, 2019, 08:04:38 PM
Cryptopreneurbrainboss (hope I got that right) is Nigerian if I'm not mistaken, and nobody seems to have a problem with him.

Yeah you got it right this time around lol, kudos. Users like OP are the reason most of us get picked on adding to the reputation the country already has. The OP history isn't encouraging and i wonder the reason behind most of his comments. If I was to dropped my view on the OP accounts I'll say, he/she (probably he) just wants attention to himself A.K.A troll. The choice of his username and the things he goes around the forum writing just points to that direction of him been a troll seeking attention.

Just have to change my location to something different to minimize the attacks i have been receiving mostly from trolls for been Nigerian both via replies and on my trust page (don't care cause they're untrustworthy and don't affect my account). Still keeping the Africa heritage but not denying the fact I'm a Nigerian openly. The OP is only trolling. The reason behind his ban is probable ban evasion and not the racist thing he's claiming.

De Gea signs new four-year deal with Man Utd

Just saw this news during the build up to Aston Villa vs West harm game, De Gea has already spent 8years at Manchester United don't think this was the right decision for him. Manchester United aren't on their best form recently meaning, the chances of them winning any trophy be it this season or next is unlikely. He would had been far better playing for a club ready for his talent during the next transfer window.

Haven't read the article to see the reason behind this decision but I don't buy into it. What's your take, was it the right decision or a mistake he'll regret sooner or later.
