I think you should focus on improving your English first.

I think the user is asking if this is allowed to post the same in different local boards, for the link he provided is from a user posting in English in a Japanese one.
But it is a guess, his thread is so badly written that it seems "encrypted"

That's because he want a merit. Nowadays most people focus on earning merit, whining about it. Some are creating post that looks like helping but it's not, there is a search feature of course that would help and the op double post the thread.

Jajaja you totally lose the sarcasm in there...

To the OP, I told you: this post probably belongs to Beginners and Help, but whatever. You can move/delete or lock it.
6464  Other / Meta / Re: Sub/Child board for Account Issues on: July 06, 2018, 04:48:53 PM

Suggestions and Opinions are open Smiley

I do think meta is becoming messy. The incoming shitposters being banned come back and post about their ban, so, as more banned accounts we have, the more crying-for-the-ban post we are going to have.
So I totally agree with the idea.
Given the actual state of the forum and the number of banned accounts we can have per day, a dedicated board is becoming to be necessary from my perspective. Besides, there is an actual problem with hacked accounts, but, for those ones maybe this is fair for them to write in meta, because it will have more visibility and also some quotes from other users that can give credibility to the hacked one.
Whatever the admins decide, the state of meta need some solutions as fast as possible, we all are seeing how, step by step, this board can become another spam-fest space.
The process is always slow, but it is going to happen if measures are not taken, I'm afraid. If we get used to seeing this kind of post in here, if we just allow this, then it is probably going to become more and more "normal".
To "normalize" a bad situation means always the beginning of decay.

USER: MatyasZaborszkyScam BANNED
Profile: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2164546

The user is copy/pasting all over the forum, in English, Spanish, and even the French board...

Some examples:
BTC/USD Medium-term Trend: Ranging

Resistance Levels: $6,100, $6,200, $6,300
Support levels: $5,900, $5,800, $5,700

Yesterday, June 27, price of Bitcoin fluctuated between the resistance level of $6,308 and the support level of $5,820. Today, price of the cryptoasset had been sustained above the $6,000 price level. Meanwhile, MACD line and the signal line are below the zero line which indicates a sell signal. Also, the 12-day EMA and the 26-day EMA are neither above nor below the price bars of Bitcoin which indicates that the cryptoasset is ranging.

As the cryptoasset is range bound, the possibility of a breakout is imminent. Traders can adopt the use of pending orders to trade the market. At the resistance level, you can place a ”buy stop” for a bullish breakout. Similarly, at the support level, you can place a ”sell stop” for a bearish breakout.Meanwhile, the relative strength index period 14 is level 46 which indicates that price of Bitcoin is in the range bound zone.

On the 1-hour chart, the price of Bitcoin is in a sideways trend. The MACD line and the signal line are neither above nor below the zero line which indicates a neutral signal. Also, the price bars of Bitcoin is neither above nor below the 12-day EMA and the 26-day EMA which indicates that a sideways trend is ongoing.

What is your opinion about this?

Decentralized energy platform ImpactPPA announced at Consensus 2018 in New York City that it has partnered with the Indian government to re-energize India’s cottage industry.

Under the auspice of the Honorable Minister Shri Giriraj Singh, ImpactPPA will be working with India’s Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to carry out the government’s Bhartiya Harit Khadi Gramodaya Sansthan (BHKGS) initiative. Translated roughly as “Indian Green Cotton Textile Village Development Organization,” the initiative will push to introduce some 50 million jobs for female workers in India’s more rural states.

Starting in Khanwan village in Bihar, the program plans to install textile looms in the homes of women workers. Per the partnership, ImpactPPA is charged with delivering renewable energy to power these looms, using the Ethereum blockchain to manage supply-chain logistics for the initiative.

“It’s an honor to work with the government of India to deploy out technology solutions,” Dan Bates, CEO of ImpactPPA, said in a statement. “A project of this scope clearly demonstrates that the use of renewable energy and blockchain technology has reached the mainstream. This partnership perfectly aligns with our fundamental mission to help improve quality of life with energy as the engine for social good and greater economic justice.”

The project estimates that its female workers could generate 8,000–10,000 rupees (~$115–145 USD) a month right out of their homes. This would mean that some families could experience a 60 percent increase to their monthly incomes, as the joint monthly income for families in some of India’s poorest villages just barely clears 7,000 rupees ($~100 USD).

Come June, the program expects to unveil the first iteration of its project, ushering in the milestone with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The inaugural facility in Khanawa will consume 100 KW of energy provided by ImpactPPA, as well as 2 KW systems to deploy the facility’s solar-powered looms.

“Having worked with the government of India on various solutions and projects for social impact, this alliance is a game-changer,” remarked Aradhana Singh, CEO and managing director of Sarang Services Pvt. Ltd., a company serving as India’s domestic partner for the project. “We are thrilled that ImpactPPA will be the provider of energy and blockchain technology and services for the project, bringing tangible economic growth opportunities while advocating women’s empowerment.”

ImpactPPA’s Mission and Story
With a history of providing renewable energy to underdeveloped areas for over 10 years, ImpactPPA wants to cut through the bureaucratic processes that it claims keeps clean, reliable energy from circulating in areas that need it most.

ImpactPPA plans to cut through the red tape of centralized NGOs and governments with its distributed platform and token (MPAQ). Through a combination of blockchain technology, smart contracts and its SmartPPA energy protocol, the project will streamline energy financing by allowing anyone to submit a project proposal to the network for consideration. Community members can then vote on which projects should see funding with the MPAQ token. If approved, ImpactPPA can then easily deploy energy to electricity anchors, called smart meters, whose data is connected to the blockchain.

ImpactPPA believes that its tokenized model can free energy innovations and electrical infrastructure projects from outdated financing processes. Most of all, it seeks to serve the underprivileged and destitute, as it envisions a future in which energy projects can easily enter into poorer areas thanks to a decentralized, global approach to funding and approval.

When I looked at the article in the reference, it looks as if he has just copied chunks from it, and not marked them as quotes. He hasn't added any discussion points or observations either.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4580374.0

This type of thread is becoming a bit annoying. It's getting to the point that you have to do some research before awarding meits. I wonder if it is worth having a 24 hour cooling off period for merit awards. This would allow merit sources to award merits a lot faster, and they could reverse a bad decision based on subsequent comments in the thread.

I don't feel legit to merit copy/pasted articles. If the user had introduced the article, plus a discussion, it would be a "nice one", but it is kind of lazy to just use ctrl+c/ctrl+v and expect some reward for that.

You are trying it TOO HARD. You are posting the same topic in more than one board which is unnecessary. I do not think this topic worth posting on two boards since I do not find any value at all. It's just another junk TBH. You never bothered to use the search function of the forum before composing the topic. Please don't do it again.
Sorry for double post. Because idk where it to be on Meta or Beginners sub forum.
And yeah, I already edit the post https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4608592.msg41604520#msg41604520

The post doesn't belong to meta, but to beginners. Meta is about forum discussion, if you want to make a guideline, then post it on the beginners.
When you make a duplicate post you are breaking the rules:
12. No duplicate posting in multiple boards (except for re-posting it in the local language boards if it's translated).

Also, if you think your post belongs to another board, you just move it, not copy-paste the whole thread in different ones and then edit one; if you don't want a post to continue existing, then you lock it or delete it (depends on the board permissions)

Gave YOU one merit, sir.   This bullshit posting just for merit has to stop...

Well done, sir. Thanks, sir.

Also, it is so easy to detect all the merit-seekers... This is so evident they just want to earn some merit that I beginning to develop an eye-cancer every time I read this kind of shit.
6469  Other / Meta / Re: Idea: Courses on: July 06, 2018, 02:29:54 PM
- Open a full contest of teachers in here, as well as the new board (maybe can be restricted, I don't know, maybe global, for there are also good newbies in here).

theymos likely has some decent contacts outside of the forum which would be willing to contribute, and write some of the content. Some well respected ones at that. Not all of them are here on the forum anymore unfortunately. I'm not sure what you mean by contest, however its likely not the best option. What would be better is if anyone has an interest in writing some of the content or contributing other ways such as proof reading they could contact theymos privately, and he could then approach these users if he deems them capable. If we introduce a contest where people can vote etc then I fear the it would just turn into a popularity contest, and not who is the best option. In fact, theymos could probably draw up some questions or ask the applicant to demonstrate how they would explain certain aspects. By this he should be able to gauge the technical ability, and knowledge of the user. Maybe, he could pass the responsibility of this onto some of the mods that are knowledgeable in the specific subject. For example,  achow for subjects relating to Bitcoin.

I think this is a Babel tower problem, sorry about that. English is not my first language and I am kind of asleep today:
- By "contest" I was meaning just to encourage the people to write useful things. For instance, if you an English teacher, then you will write something and, in the case to be good enough, well, it could be a part of the site. "Contest" is definitely a word I misused.

What happens with the shitposters? Well, if someone just inscribes into a course and don't make their best, then they will remain in here as trainee forever, and it is going to be as remaining as newbie forever, so they need to try harder.

I don't think implementing another restriction via requiring users to take a course in order to rank up is the best idea. The merit system is already in place for doing just that. Courses should be optional, and have no bearing on rank. Instead, you get a cool badge to display that you've successfully completed a course!

However, having said that there's been talks about requiring a user to complete a mini quiz to complete registration. I guess that might be able to tie into this idea, possibility.

I neither meant the courses to be obligatory, but a "plus" also in here. For all those willing to learn, it will appear in here that that are already taking the courses. That's all. Of course, it must be optional, but with a "reward" in here, so they want to work harder.

About the mini quiz, I totally agree, it could be about the forum rules.

Thanks for the quote, sometimes I find difficult to express myself in English, I must take the English course, if created  Wink

I think bitcointalkcourses is too long. I'm also a fan of .coms. If Theymos wants a domain name, I'll hve a look to see what I've got, or I can look for one.

The other alternative is to use a subdomain like courses.bitcointalk.org. If you do that, then make sure you pick up the name without the dot to avoid it getting into scammers control.

Jejee. Totally agree. It was just an idea, but you are the domain master in here  Cool
A subdomain sounds great.
6470  Local / Primeros pasos y ayuda / Re: Cuando en el foro le ponen el Candado (Locked Topic) Que Significa ?? Gracias on: July 06, 2018, 02:15:45 PM

6471  Other / Meta / Re: Idea: Courses on: July 06, 2018, 01:55:48 PM
What a beautiful idea, even if it doesn't help those who are not willing to learn, there are others (included me) that will appreciate this. Some basics:

- The domain  Bitcointalkcourses.org is not taken. Maybe to create a website (official) it the best way to manage this.
- We can create a board in which the contents of the courses are divided and everyone can participate in a thread, for instance, in order to generate a good article about a specific theme, once the article is approved, then determinate people can shape it and upload the approved content into the website. This board needs to have some rewards, of course, in order for the people to try their best. Also, the users that created the thread will have some recognition in the course's website.
- If you want to take a course, you will need to use your same account name, it is important due to the next point:
- We can implement a system  of achievements, and organize the courses step by step, with a final trivia, for those who achieve a complete course, we can implement here in the forum a tool that shows it, for instance (trainee, first level, second level, tech expert, graduate, bitcoin genius...), it can be under the actual rank of the user, for instance: Newbie/trainee  /Newbie graduated/ Hero/teacher...and it will help the people to rank-up, in case they achieve the graduate level, for instance, and as well as their participation in here is a good quality one, he can rank-up, I don't know, to full member as much, maybe. It will encourage the people to participate and, probably, help the forum to, at least, knowing who has made the effort and who doesn't.

In order to make this a reality, I think the best path can be:
- Buying the domain, and making it look pleasant, nice.
- Open a full contest of teachers in here, as well as the new board (maybe can be restricted, I don't know, maybe global, for there are also good newbies in here).
- Organizing the web by themes and achievements, and launching contests or information in here, once a course is completed, we can make an official announcement in the forum and encourage the people to take that one.

I do believe that the system of achievements and titles can really encourage the people to be a part of this. Also, if, by learning, they will change something in their profile information, as described, it probably will be a success.
What happens with the shitposters? Well, if someone just inscribes into a course and don't make their best, then they will remain in here as trainee forever, and it is going to be as remaining as newbie forever, so they need to try harder.

A practical example:

I am a Newbie, and I decide to take an English course at the Bitcointalkcourses.org, so in my profile, once I'm inscribed, it will appear something like this: "English trainee" on my BT profile. Once I get my first grade (lets say we can manage 5 grades of English), in my profile will appear: English level 1!!
Suddlenly, I decide to take the course of "Basic programmation", so it will appear in my profile: Basic Prorgammer trainee, and then, once achieved, it will change to "Basic programmer".
By taking a look at my profile, the people will know that I'm trying my best, so I try to take as many courses as I can.
Once completed all the levels, for instance in my profile will appear: English graduated, or English genius, if we want this to be a little funnier.

That's just an idea. My girsfriend teachs in the university and she's standing by my side know telling me what to write  Cool

@seoincorporation Hi

I have a question if you don't mind. How to rank up please Huh

ok, I am out
Cheesy are you ok??

<...>

Totally agree. I've seen shitposters from all over the world. I am from the third world and to me was really difficult to learn English, I've learned by myself how to write more or less properly, by reading a lot, by studying the grammar, and I is still kind of difficult for me to write some complex insights in English, to be honest, sometimes I spend a lot of time in one single post or quote.
To me, the reasons behind a shitposter are not from my concern. If they want to earn some bucks, they know how and were, they don't need to come here and cry because they want merits too.

The central issue is about the Meta (for now). There are other boards falling fast into a spam-fest, but if you divide your problems, you have more probabilities of finding a solution. So maybe a good mod in here will serve to the purpose of stopping all those unnecessary threads coming and coming each day (I just took a quick look and they are some more just today).
6474  Other / Meta / Re: Please, mods, stop this on: July 04, 2018, 06:20:19 PM
That's about I'm concerned: how to report?
Hit the report to moderator link as soon as you see these kind of topics. In the comment section you can write something...
- Repeated topic no use. ref: xyz url
- Useless merit begging topic.
- Broken tap recorder. Moaning against merit with nothing new.
- Few line shit topic creator with no insight.
It is what I try to  do.  Wink

No, over time those locked topic will buried forever.

Yes, but new ones are going to come. To me, the issue is: if we allow this kind of shitposts in here, more are about to come. Locking them still gives other's the opportunity of reading the thread and gives "ideas".
That's why I don't completely like the "lock" idea, for it is not a rare problem, it is happening more and more each day. Are we going to have a Meta full of locked threads?

I do think that people who are posting here about their ban with a newly created account is within their rights given by the forum rules and is not breaking any rules based on this rules/guideline created by mprep:

Agree, but I think this rule is kind of old for the current situation: as more shitposters, more banned accounts, so maybe the option they have of coming in here to try to recover their account is no longer useful, given the situation.
Besides, they also have the possibility of sending a PM and to try to explain their motifs (if any). Whatever, it looks like an "old" rule that might be changed.
Maybe we can have a board dedicated to banned accounts, how knows.
6475  Other / Meta / Re: Please, mods, stop this on: July 04, 2018, 06:06:41 PM

I can't recommend any solution for now but maybe moderators has something to do with it. This is a serious problem.

A mod to the board? I think this might be a great solution. Maybe LoiceV? Vod? I have many members in mind and I'm sure they absolutely are going to do a great job in caring the Meta.

Its not just the Meta board almost all boards are being over run by spammers currently and to be honest I see a lot of people leaving and if it carries on there will be no point in opening a thread anywhere other than serious discussion which currently does not have enough people active there to have a discussion.

More moderators are needed

The Serious Discussion board is also becoming another spam-fest. I'm afraid that the only one left is the Ivory Tower, but this one is quite silent.
Agree: more mods are needed given the current situation of the forum.

===> I guess reporting these kind of posts are a bit tricky for the reporter. There are no specific instructions so, your report may end up unhandled or the worse case is bad report (not sure 100%).

===> Locking them could be a good solution once a mod notice it. Can be trashed as well but in that case the funs we do will be ruined LOL

===> Since we do not know the real workload for the existing mods and admins so, it's hard to answer. I guess it's admins call.

PS: You got the attention of any of the mod. 3 out of 4 topics are locked now  Smiley
That's about I'm concerned: how to report?
By locking them we are only going to have a lot of locked ones, which, still, is "messy" to the board navigation.
Yes, this is an admin's call, I do feel we need a moderator in the meta board as soon as possible.

Let's do some noise then.
6476  Other / Meta / Please, mods, stop this on: July 04, 2018, 05:23:58 PM
Recently the meta board has become a beggers fest, either with threads related to the recovery of some banned accounts, or a constant seek of merits.
Some examples just picked from the last couple of days (!!!):

- Another guy complaining about how difficult is to achieve merits even when his/her post-history sucks:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4598892.0
- A guy crying for recovering his account at the same time he's evading the ban: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4596963.0
- Another thread about how to rank-up: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4570495.0
- One teaching us how to earn merits by copy-pasting other ideas and making a pathetic compilation: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4590585.0
... and the list can go and go "to the moon".

The Meta board is one of the favorites to get involved in passionate, thoughtful and great debates. I'm afraid that, if we continue this way, this is going to become another spam-fest board, and I'm sure no one wants that.

So I have some questions:
- Is it ok to report to moderator this kind of posts?
- Is locking them enough? I truly believe those ones need to be trashed, to be honest.
- Do we actually need a dedicated mod in here?

What do you think?
6477  Other / Meta / Re: Merits "a penny for your thoughts" on: July 04, 2018, 05:11:05 PM
Yes sir, im considering this bounty as a work. Because this is my bread and butter for my family.

If the forum is already "your bread and butter" do not be so stupid and do not ask for more. You can be banned for your actions, loosing then your family's bread.
I think you are already sucking enough from the forum, you are already earning some bucks in here, is not enough? Why do you come to Meta to ask for more? do you want the cow to get drained or your account to be banned?

I agree. This is a serious threat, it's more likely virus is starting to spread through all boards of this forum. Moderators should not disregard this situation.

Yes, and also, how stupid from the OP to drag our attention into his/her shit activity... I just can't understand how people can actually be so ... (don't even have a word to describe this)
6478  Other / Meta / Re: Merits "a penny for your thoughts" on: July 04, 2018, 04:57:34 PM

By looking at your post history, like OP I also gave up scrolling after seeing lot of bounty reports. I don't even know if you still got some good post remaining to challenge seoincorporation to review your posts. You will only end up reported with what you were doing.

It is annoying when someone asks for merits, even putting you into the work of searching in between a lot of crap. If he thinks he deserves merits for some of his posts, then he should ask on the correct giving-away-merits threads... But begging... it is against the rules and also annoying as hell. I've reported him as well.

Yeah, it's not really fair that even Meta section is now getting compromised by shitposters. Meta section is the only place I usually hang out as discussions are pretty good here but these days, shitposters are starting to conquer it.

Seriously, that's enough. I think this is time to take some action about that, we don't want the only decent board to become another shitposters-beggers place. It is kind of sick to find each day these kinds of posts, please mods, seriously, do not let the Meta board become another crap one.
Maybe we need to be more active in reporting threads like this one in order to make our point.
6479  Other / Meta / Re: Merits "a penny for your thoughts" on: July 04, 2018, 04:31:22 PM
Hi there.
Well, I 've spent some of my time in looking for just one decent post in your history, but all I can see are infinite bounty reports and some "Bitcoin to the moon".
If you want to earn merits, try harder, try to contribute, try to write more than a line of nonsense words or bounties.
I just can't understand why are you complaining about the merit system if you can't even be a constructive part of the forum.
Try harder.

Do you mind taking a look at mine? Beside bounty never-ending reports, I've got some serious posts though.

Are you seriously begging me?? Of course not. Ignored.

Another guy complaining about Merit System Smiley
How can you be able to receive merits? And how can you be able to create a good quality of post if you won't even try? Just look at your post, it's way too horrible to give Merit any of them.
I gave up scrolling after seeing those bounty reports.

Yep. I've reported this. This is annoying to see how the meta board is becoming a shitposter's begging place... PLease, mods, take some action...
