not sure i understand exactly what the point about bitcoin in this story is.
we should subtly nudge and hint about bitcoin but not go into any detail, when introducing it to someone? If you can convince a store/a person to accept something that isn't cash (like the $50 Silver Bullion), it's easier to make them accept Bitcoin as well. That is what I got out of this whole story and it makes sense to me. It's not so much Bitcoin related, but pushing people away from cash money is always a good thing. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) In The Netherlands we have something like this as well. It's called " Zilveren vijfje" and they are made at least once a year. They often celebrate memorable (like our new King) or sad moments. A " Zilveren vijfje" can be used as legal tender and it happens from time to time, but most people use it as a collectible, hahaha.

Are you sure you don't mean provably fair? Since I never heard of probably fair (which is a stupid name as well).. Anyway, provably fair means that you can verify that a website hasn't changed the outcome to something which is more prefered by them (for example, you losing the bet). For more information you can checkout this website: Provably Fair Bitcoin Gambling Explained - Bitcoin Reviewer.

Yeah - if you want to "watch" a thread you don't need to post in it - you can just click "watch".
OMG I just posted twice in a row in the same thread. I'd be accused of trying to increase my signature payout if I had a signature, but after my last excursion into paid-sig land I don't want to go there again... Don't give up hope because of something like that. I can post as much as I want with my current signature without being afraid that I won't get paid or be punished. I have a gentlemans agreement with the owners of BlockTrail and we discuss stuff if we think it's necarrasy. I get paid biweekly and the amount of BTC I get per post is quite high. You just need to find the right people to setup something like that. I was contacted by them because I'm active in the dutch section of the freenode server and because one of the owners is one of the people I talked to quite a bit.

Why would one want to purchase such an account? I get that buying a Bitcointalk account is profitable, but a Reddit account? How could you use that in your advantage?

He always asks for some kind of small payment from you first. He pretty much does not outright give things away for free. Not true. He often send stuff before asking the payment (check his trust rating for proof). I always got my stuff before he ask me to pay me (if he asked at all). If for example he would come back when he is unbaned and tell people to send him 1 BTC and he will return 3 BTC, how many people do you think will take up his offer? Probably a lot. What do you think would happen when they take up the offer? I am guessing nothing....as in theywill not get anything in eturn The doubling service was a one time thing for friends only. It just got interpreted the wrong way. It was meant to be a joke to give people some free BTC, but it backfired (as you can see). To be clear: This is my interpretation of things he said to me in private.

I agree with ACCTseller. He broke the rules and gets nothing (if it was up to me).

I think I know the answer already but I guess non-PD folks cannot be moderators
Well, I guess not since Stunna ignored the question. I would love to apply, but oh well.

Whether or not it's a scam depends on how they advertise the service. There are plenty of threads in the Gambling section advertising a Ponzi-gambling-scheme without trying to cover up the fact that they're a Ponzi scheme. These to me are perfectly fine gambling opportunities (assuming of course that the operator sticks to the advertised rules).
Then there are websites that claim to be a normal investment program (such as Cryptcominer and Bitcoin-Trader), but that are in fact Ponzi schemes. These to me are pure scams, since they try to trick people to invest under false pretenses. Of course, these websites also draw in people that are aware that it's a Ponzi scheme, but try to get in early for a gamble, but these sites primarily thrive on misleading people. Well, you definitely have a point there. I was talking about Ponzi's that state that their are Ponzi's, just to be clear. Cryptcominer has an asterisk because they trick people into their Ponzi scheme. Also, I hope that I'm doing a good job, with this topic, in your eyes. I do my best to keep everything updated and nicely organized.

I highly recommend everyone to not download this program. Why? - A newbie account posted it
- The only positive response is from a newbie account
- The scans from virustotal show it's highly suspicious
Download this at your own risk (you are stupid if you do ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) ).

It is a gamble but at some point that gamble turns into a scam and that's the way it was built from the start. They're designed to fail, but most just end up scamming long before the ponzi ever collapses naturally. Of course it's a scam, I never said it wasn't. But, in my opinion, it's a gamble to participate in them and hope that you get something out of it.

Well, I would lie if I said that I haven't played with Ponzi's. I saw it as a gamble, accepted the risk and joined one (from which I made quite a lot). The problem with Ponzi's is, you earn something from someone else (who else expect to earn something from someone else). If you lose, you lose, it's all a gamble if you ask me.
