I don't see "t" in the equation.
Nevermind. I see it.

C= P*t*c

Thank you!  While looking to find the t, I realized that I forgot to use the power factor!
My post has been edited to include that constant.

Just for the record, the scientific term for the fear of flying is aviophobia

This is a correct notice, but the word "Aerofobia" is present in many Dictionaries under "Fear of flying".

Better to say, that i chose not to use this mode of trasportation.

That whole diatribe was an attempt at humour.  Fear of being blown...  Я женат!!  Ah, forget it.

6543  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Aerofobia on: December 30, 2016, 08:47:14 PM
I need to say, that i have no fear to fly on aircrafts. I consider them unsafe and extremely dangerous in case of problems.
I feel, that i will newer fly again.

Just for the record, the scientific term for the fear of flying is aviophobia but could also be aviatophobia or pteromerhanophobia.
The term aerophobia refers to a pathological fear of draughts of air or fear of being blown.

I am trying to figure out a formula that will work with different scenarios
btc stable up or down.

The formula is not that complicated.  Here's a list of variables in the equation for your profit:

  • Bitcoin value
  • Bitcoin difficulty

Everything else is fixed.

  • Electricity cost

Of course you are purposely being vague about the details of your deal which is the thing that actually sets you apart from other miners.
Let's look at this in terms of 14 day periods (about the same amount of time as a difficulty retarget period)

Fixed

Bi = number of Bitcoins mined per initial period (22.04 - trust me...)
t = number of hours per period (336 - trust me 'cause I'm not showing all the math)
P = power required (according to Bitmain Specs 194.922 kW) for 153 S9s
c = Cost of electricity  per kWh (you know it but wont say)
di = Initital Difficulty (317,688,400,354)
fp = power factor (efficiency of power supplies)
C= P*t*c/fp total power cost for one period (this is actually fixed but you haven't told us the value for c)

Variable

Vc = current value of Bitcoin
dc = Current Difficulty

When Bi*Vc*(di/dc)-C → 0; shut down the miners

That's the simplest math.  If you want a more detailed analysis - you'll have to pay.

Send me an address.  I'll trade.

Sweet.  It's the addy Ive had staked since last year. 1As24mzicrYQLXDEWKGQ8ZjeyvYhgWLRAx

PM me your details and I'll send the PP.  Specify how you want it sent, f/f, business,  etc.

Crap!  I messed up on the fees.  I was trying to use 21 incs bitcoinfee website to figure out the required fee and I was low by a factor of ten.  Satoshis/byte... 1024 bytes in a kilobyte... Anyway, the txid is:

a924a43f8913943eaf92d62b6f15d731a763c32556e0de09d67c898e3740d641

I'll wait and make sure this thing goes through before I send the PP link.

Looks good to me!  Tell you what.  Send me your info and I'll send the PP.  If the transaction gets shot back to you, I will trust that you'll resend it (if you don't, I'll remind you).

That's awesome! Thanks.  PM on the way.

That is so awesome.  They guy's website subscription was saved by an almost selfless individual.  It's like a Christmas miracle... but what really brings tears to my eyes is that somebody has to pay so much interest for such a tiny loan!  Remember the interest break I mentioned not all that long ago Lone Shark?  This could have been your moment.  Could have been...

I wanted to pay the extra :p no problem paying $2 extra for someone who trusted me enough to give me a loan based on blind trust. (risk vs reward? hehe)

anyway it wasn't my site subscription, it was a subscription on a site :p

Dang!  I like my version better Wink

Hi All,
I set up 153 13Th/s  S9s just over 10 days ago and I am trying to optimize earnings/profit. The machines are on track to get over 45btc first month.  I do not need to cash earnings right away or near term.
I am getting Bitmain's power rate since it was prepaid for 6 months. (not going to mention the actual $ amount per kW not to start another topic)
Please advise on what percentage to sell and when given the current environment. I know it is not a simple question with too many parameters in play like difficulty/hash rate and btc price.
In other words how would you do it based on previous experience?

You used Hashnest or you took delivery of 153 S9s?

I'm looking for a application of widget that I could install on my windows computer that will show me bitcoin value live with some stats or graphs or whatever.
Like the one on coindesk website, is there any?
Please do suggest whatever you use for this purpose.

This thread for this gadget

6553  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 50$ Gift Card Giveaway for DEAN & DELUCA on: December 30, 2016, 12:34:57 AM
If the project you were involved in was designing their website,  I would like to point out that if you scroll down to the New Year's Eve entertaining section there is a spelling error associated with DEAN & DELUCA Extra Sharp Vermont Cheddar.  It says "Etra".  I would also like to point out that even with a free US$50 gift card to the site, I can barely afford a regularly priced Stollen?  ! That's the only thing I saw that interested me so count me out.  Nice giveaway though.

Edit: Maybe you could send it to sidehack on my behalf if I win - he could use the... OOoh wait!!  The black lunch box with Thermos just caught my eye.

I'm serious, I could use that for work.
6554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is Bitcoinacious. coming best for ? on: December 29, 2016, 04:46:02 PM
Hello everyone,

I just registered a bitcoin related domain name, Bitcoinacious.com and need some suggestions on what the domain name should be best for.

It should probably be about something abounding in Bitcoin I would imagine.

IMHO a site with that name should include at least all of:

  • Short description of Bitcoin
  • How to send and receive Bitcoin
  • Where to spend Bitcoin (subdivided into digital and physical locations and also by geographical location)
  • Best ways to obtain Bitcoin (again, subdivided into digital and physical locations and also by geographical location)
  • An animated Bitcoin transaction display or a ticker tape display
  • A Bitcoin news ticker
  • Bitcoin block explorer
  • Bitcoin technicals - network hash rate, current difficulty, no. of coins transacted in last 24 hrs
  • How to avoid scams
  • one of these: as paid advertising of course
  • special guest interviews of unsung Bitcoin heroes such as sidehack

It has to be teeming with everything Bitcoin.  I'm sure there are many more things you can include.

What does You calling as "muslims" the jihadi salafists sectants?
They are acting against the Quran.

I have no idea what you just said, but that was a joke. Maybe you didn't take it as one but, trust me, it was a joke.

6556  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I have access to electricity free of charge, how should i mine ? on: December 28, 2016, 09:53:24 PM
Ok so i have been offered the prospect of free electricity and am thinking about buying some mining hardware, what is currently the best hardware and what else should i be thinking about?

thanks

If you look down below your topic in the mining speculation thread you will see many topics very similar to yours.  Read those first and then ask your questions.  So may people come in here without giving ANY information other than "I have free electricity" and "I'm thinking about..." which is far too vague.  Nobody can properly advise you until we know if your parents are paying for the "free" electricity or it's your landlord's problem; which will eventually become yours.  It might also be some other problem like the one that caused ChineseSaviour to sell the farm.

Household voltage? ie 120 or 240
 Climate? tropical/arid/subarctic/icecap
Space? separate room or will they live with you
Noise tolerance? your own/your neighbours - how close are they?
 Money? What's your budget?

6557  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Could someone explain this to me? on: December 27, 2016, 08:59:23 PM
Hi I'm really confused about venmo at the moment so yesterday i thought it was unreversible and so many people on this forum said it's worse than paypal .So I was wondering what makes it reversible ? Is it if you pay by credit card?

What if someone pays you via a verified bank account , is that considered reversible ? Really need help understanding this

update:I'm not talking about naming the transcation "here's 40 usd for btc " i'm asking if it was labelled " here's 40 usd have a great christmas" and paid with a bank account how is that reversible?

Not as well as this article.
6558  Economy / Economics / Re: Big Crash coming on: December 27, 2016, 08:46:06 PM
Just to let you guys know a big crash is coming in 2016 in the economy. There is going to be a huge financial crisis but it will be worse than 2009.

The bitcoin price will skyrocket to over $10,000. However  bitcoin will be banned in all western countries. If you are reading this living in the west you should make preparations to move to Russia or China they are the only places you will be safe owning bitcoins.

The crisis will be so big it will destroy entire countries and in 2017 there will be a civil war in the USA, UK and western europe. After this the world will never be the same again it will change so much by 2020 it will be unrecognizable compared to today.

May all of your economic crises be as bad as they were in 2016.

I'm calling it early: Prediction Fail
6559  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin vs Gold on: December 25, 2016, 12:43:55 AM
If you move this to the Economics section, you will get more exposure and possibly a greater response as some users ignore the off-topic section.
Bottom left of your screen you should see the move topic link.

Careful not to follow in Sir Alpha_Goy's footsteps and start talking about silver though!  Rumour has it that can result in a permanent ban from the forum Wink  Just messing with you -  it won't.
