6541  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is REALLY going on with Bitconnect right now?! on: February 12, 2018, 03:05:54 AM
I have suffered from this company like many people. At the moment when I realized that BCC SCAM I could not log into my account because the network was overloaded! I lost all my money I invested in the BCC and it was a great lesson for me, the thirst for fast money turned out like always a loss!

Thank you for sharing!  Hey we all do stuff we regret but learning from it and getting back up and fighting forward is what it's all about.  What does your account look like now?  Can you trade in BCC tokens for BTC at all?  Are they trying to get you to buy in to BCCX?

If anyone is having any doubts at this point- this article is the first I read that made a ton of sense so maybe it'll help you -https://steemit.com/scam/@thegrinder/the-bitconnect-scam-exposed
6542  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is REALLY going on with Bitconnect right now?! on: February 12, 2018, 03:02:22 AM
I have been fighting against this scum for a long time.  I hate seeing people fall victim to such evil.  I got in to the financial industry so that I could try and help from within and have blogged relentlessly to try and educate those on how Ponzi schemes work and why BCC was one.  So now that BCC pulled their exit scam ..the news is insanely vague.  Millions and millions and I've even heard up to a billion were stolen in Bitcoin from investors.  Why is there so little news on this? This is a massive deal and I've heard not a thing in national or world news.

They are clearly planning or running an ICO right now ..BitconnectX.   They look to be ramping up to try and do it all over again.

Can any of you here help share your story?  What happened exactly when they announced the shut down?   What does your account look like right now, functionality wise ? Etc..
Just move on dude, bitconnect is holding the title of being the biggest scam in the crypto history people are the ones to be blame because they knew it from the start that this is a ponzi scheme, but they didnt listen to those people who warned them if there is anyone to blame its them who didnt do research before joining.

"just move on dude" Why don't you just move on from this forum? Bitconnect is still up and running and planning their second go-round to do this all over again.  I will not move on, I will continue to fight for people whom aren't as educated as myself on this bull shit.  I've spent a lot of time learning what I know and part of that time spent was to learn for others as well...not just myself.  I'm not a selfish POS like you are.

It's important that good people who care about others stick together and continue to fight hard and speak out about nonsense like this so that others will become aware.  I had plenty of people tell me to "f off" and that I was jealous when trying to warn them of the Ponzi scheme.  I know many people went in to financial ruin because of BCC and while yes it's their fault...it doesn't make them necessarily bad humans who deserved it.
6543  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is garbage. on: February 12, 2018, 02:44:28 AM
How can we be expected to invest in this stupidity?

Here is a guy trying to give Andreas a tip of $1.50.  To do that, he paid $13.46 in fees.  Does that seem like a sensible payment system?  Not.  It is garbage.  SegWit didn't help with anything.

This is the only thing I hate about bitcoins, but I don't consider bitcoins trash even if the price of transactions and the transfer fees are expensive and slow. But I do hope someone makes a solution for this one. This is a huge setback to bitcoins specially in terms of investments.

Have you done any homework at all or just here to be another typical clueless poster whom complains but doesn't take the time to actually learn?  If you would have done anything but just waste internet space with your last post you might have noticed a couple posts before yours I discussed the transaction fees and speed.  The lightning network and outlets adding SegWit finally are already making big changes.  I loathe users such as yourself, do some homework and stop wasting internet space.

For everyone else on the opposite side, thank you! BlackRacerX how about trying to learn a little here-  https://medium.com/@melik_87377/lightning-network-enables-unicast-transactions-in-bitcoin-lightning-is-bitcoins-tcp-ip-stack-8ec1d42c14f5

6546  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Problem With Bit Coin (and all crypto coins) on: February 11, 2018, 02:03:34 AM
The problem with NASDAQ, and all stock markets, is that they are nothing but a Ponzi scheme where people are looking to sell it to the next guy for a higher price. (/s)

This is nonsense and has nothing to do with bitcoin. Bitcoin and cryptocurrency aren't a replacement for traditional investments.  When you say things like this it confuses those (likely yourself as well) as to what Bitcoin is meant for.

Bitcoin is a payment system and or store of value (up for debate) but it's not a traditional asset.  It uses exchanges like Coinbase and Bitfinex to facilitate it's trade.  The Nasdaq, the S&P500 etc are exchanges where the trade of stocks and other investments are facilitated.  There's a big difference between products and the exchanges their sold on.

Of course everyone is looking to sell it to the next guy for a higher price.  I'd highly recommend picking up some basic investing books and spending a little time to understand how financial markets work because it is clear you do not.
6547  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Problem With Bit Coin (and all crypto coins) on: February 11, 2018, 01:55:44 AM
You guys are seriously wasting internet space with your nonsense.  Bitcoin is not a Ponzi scheme nor are the financial markets.  Can these both be manipulated and are both of these manipulated ...absolutely!

Bitconnect is an example of a Ponzi scheme.  Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency that is not.  OP-rather than post a short statement, how about give us some concrete evidence or theories as to why you believe this.  If you're truly wanting to engage in conversation rather than just complain.  It would seem to me you likely lost money trying to trade in cryptocurrency.

People are lazy and clueless when they say that either are fully ponzis.  The stock market is backed by actually companies whom you invest in and receive actual ownership shares in.  Bitcoin is similar as in there's only 21 million coins and when you purchase any fraction of a coin you're investing in an asset that will always remain limited.

The US dollar , the Yen , the Euro all can be printed continuously and there lies an inherent flaw.  Neither are perfect and both can co-exist for a better world.
6548  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What Andreas Antonopoulos says when asked about his "best" haters on: February 11, 2018, 01:41:32 AM
I was watching a video of Andreas recently where he was asked if there is any bitcoin pundit in which he really enjoys debating with.  His answer was so good I took a moment to copy it down to share.  If you don't read or watch this guy, you're not doing bitcoin right!

"I think many of the intellectually honest people eventually stop being critics, because they suddenly realize that the flaws they are identifying are temporary features, issues, and not inherent problems. There are very few inherent problems in a dynamically evolving design or ecosystem of different designs all competing, that cannot be resolved.  There are critics who criticize this technology primarily based on their world view.   It is politically inconsistent with their world view.  It’s not that they do not like the technology it’s that they do not like the implications of this technology and the primary criticism you get then is “this should not be” to which all I can answer is ..and yet it is.  “but we mustn’t”… and yet we did, “but you shouldn’t”.. but yet we did"- Andreas Antonopoulos.

I think it's important to remember that many dislike bitcoin not because of their disapproval of the technology, but as it goes against their "beliefs".  Do others see this too?
6549  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Things new investors need to know about bitcoin on: February 11, 2018, 01:27:19 AM
Newbie investors don't know what the origin of Bitcoin really is. Let me know whether you think this info is legit. Was Bitcoin created by AI?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gK2jkkB2yyc

This is an interesting theory but it's just that.  The truth is AI is just in it's begging stages so it's unlikely anyone has an AI capable of creating Bitcoin and the blockchain at this point.  Satoshi was/is a genius..we've had geniuses break the barrier of possibilities (at least perceived possibilities in our own minds) before.

There have been many Altcoins made sense with new coins being created with different platforms but similar in concept.  Not to mention it's not like Bitcoin didn't have glaring flaws.  Hence the implementation of SegWit, Lighting Network etc.  Theories are all over the place today about how Bitcoin was really created and who Satoshi really is.  The only thing I know is this bitcoin tech is changing the world and I want to be apart of it.

Hey Minerjones,
I am looking to sell 1, maybe 2 of these. Doing on behalf of a friend, and based in New Zealand. Haven't used this forum before, have just joined today to try and sell these coins. Looking to sell for BTC value, as opposed to USD. Where are you based?
Thanks! Reuben

6551  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why does China hate Bitcoin? on: February 11, 2018, 12:37:50 AM
More FUD from this "legendary" member.  China doesn't "hate" bitcoin, China simply wishes to control bitcoin just as they look to control everything in their country.  China is a communist country through and through still to this day.  Any country that block websites like Facebook should be look at as a communist sate.  China simply doesn't want money leaving the country and being un-taxed while doing so.  They simply see Bitcoin as a way for their people to gain more power against their regime.

There are still OTC (over the counter)options to buy bitcoin NO MATTER WHAT happens, so lets not lose sight of that.  There's a lot more to play out here before we go a declare bitcoin over for good in China.
6552  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is garbage. on: February 10, 2018, 11:32:29 PM
It has come to my attention (this thread) that many of you still have no clue about the lightning network.  Have you guys not seen fees and transaction times lowering and speeding up?

Here is an article those of you unfamiliar with the Lightning Network should read ASAP- https://medium.com/@melik_87377/lightning-network-enables-unicast-transactions-in-bitcoin-lightning-is-bitcoins-tcp-ip-stack-8ec1d42c14f5

Now take a look at where the hash rate is- https://blockchain.info/charts/hash-rate

Transaction cost-  https://blockchain.info/charts/cost-per-transaction

Also outlets like Coinbase are FINALLY starting to implement SegWit.

Bitcoins future is still very bright and the blockchain can ALWAYS be updated to make Bitcoin better.  Don't let a "Legendary" status member influence you, the status means little to nothing here.  If you read his trust it looks like his agenda is pretty clear.  FUD spreader.
6553  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Most cryptocurrencies will crash to zero on: February 10, 2018, 11:26:04 PM
100% most cryptocurrencies will crash that's a FACT! Andreas Antonopoulos himself has stated this many times.  In fact he tells people all of the time that he isn't sure Bitcoin will be around in the end by any means!  What he's sure of and what I am sure of is that Crytpocurrency is here to stay!

Let's keep in mind that most cryptocurrency coins are built with no sound plan and were created as a payment system like Bitcoin.  Bitcoin and it's blockchain platform can always be updated and in my mind Bitcoin has already beat out all other payment systems (take a look at the LN network if you are worried about Bitcoin as a payment medium).  I want to invest in coins like ADA and IOTA that have real world uses outside of needing to be connected to Bitcoin.

This is very much like the dot.com craze but lets not forget that websites now run the entire world and some of those websites became global giants and still thrive today.  Most will die, but some will remain and prosper.
6554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I used to own 10,000 bitcoin... here is how I lost it all. on: February 10, 2018, 11:19:07 PM
Whether this story is real or fake it should be a valuable lesson to us all.  No, not that you should have kept all 10,000 and became a multi-millionaire, but to let go of the past!  I personally have a very hard time of doing so.  I always have.  I think of family members whom were taken advantage of by "financial advisors" and what I could have done better to help save them.  I think of all the money I've lost making poor investments, whether it was because I was sloppy about investing or things simply didn't pan out.

Whatever it might be if you live in the past you're likely going to die there.  It sucks, it'll burn and you'll want to let rip you apart at times believing it's what you deserve, but it's not.  Whether it's the loss of money, and X-gf, whatever...life still goes on and can be amazing.  We all die with nothing don't forget that.  Accumulating wealth is great but it doesn't last forever and it doesn't equal happiness.  Fight on is the moral here.
6555  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Ledger Nano S security issues on: February 10, 2018, 10:55:58 PM
Lol..the first batch of around 2000 sodl out in a few hours.
I subscribed for the notification, hope the next batch won't be sodl out just as fast.

Yeah...I hear ya..lots of people bought them as collectable items just like i did
I mostly ended up buying both Trezor and Ledger to support the industry.

Nice gesture..i bought the ledger nano and blue..both trezor in black and white..left them all wrapped never to be used. Then bought nano and trezor again to be used. Now i am awaiting 6 new batch one Trezor T models
Maybe I should pickup some backups in case I need to restore. How is the blue?

I've talked to a techy about Blue and they said they were extremely unimpressed. It looks cool as hell and I almost bought it for more than I should have at one point but thankfully I decided to hold off.  I didn't buy the ledger Nano direct from the manufacturer (like my boy Krogo here taught me to only do) so I won't keep anything on it but I did open it up to play with just for fun and to test out.  I think why I dislike the Nano is why my buddy didn't like the blue and it's just the software and hardware combined.  Ledger needs one platform and not these stupid apps.  The nano hardware, two buttons, doesn't hold a charge..it's just sloppy manufacturing.  I keep 90% on paperwallets and 10% between hardware wallets and hot wallets personally.
6556  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is REALLY going on with Bitconnect right now?! on: February 10, 2018, 08:54:57 PM
Basically they said that due to the cease and desist orders served them by the Texas government they were going to stop the lending programme. So the bcc coins were returned to the wallets and then there was panic selling which dropped the price from 235$ to 50$. I cashed out at 17$ because the site traffic was huge, could not log in for days. Of course bcc is useless without the lending programme so it wad inevitable that the coin would dump.

Thanks for sharing! They shut down the platform because of those letters knowing that most users would catch on because the states were putting such pressure on them.  That's when they knew the exit made most sense.  That being said when you "invest" money with them you use BTC correct?  Then they swap for their worthless token.  When you went to cash out, were you actually given BTC back?  How did that all work?

Does your account say anything about BitconnectX right now?  It looks to me as if the lending program is going to be an option just as it was with Bitconnect.  I am wondering if while logged in are they trying to get you to sign up for BitconnectX and promoting the interest you can earn from their lending platform again?
6557  Economy / Speculation / Re: Prediction: Bitcoin will hit 100K on: February 10, 2018, 07:59:40 PM
None of us have any clue.  I remember speaking with very intelligent and much more knowledgeable Bitcoiners on here before the blow up to 20k and none of them had any idea we'd get to that number as quickly as we did.  I remember saying I bet if Amazon announced bitcoin as a new payment means that Bitcoin would hit 15K, and this was when Bitcoin was at 8k.  It took much less new than that to blow past 15k.  At the end of the day if you believe in this technology just know that the sky is very high but no certainty is ever promised.
6558  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Dangerous ? on: February 10, 2018, 07:50:56 PM
Bitcoin isn't dangerous to any extent.  The only thing that makes anything dangerous is the greedy ill-will of man.  That also includes governments fear of Bitcoin from taking away from it's bottom line.  Governments fear bitcoin because politicians are lined directly with banks and big business whom have paid to get them elected.  Some of the biggest fight back is due to bitcoin being a simply smarter tech than what does world can offer and it scares the elite.  They fear losing control of the people.  Both however can and will co-exist.
6559  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Social Media Influence bitcoin growth? on: February 10, 2018, 07:47:30 PM
Social media plays a massive role in EVERYTHING we do today.  Adreas calls Bitcoin the internet of money, which now show's we've come full circle in that everything these days the world is internet based.  We talk to friends and family via social media more than ever.  We meet new people, businesses, products etc..all via social media these days.  Social media is how the world communicates now and the word of Bitcoin has been passed through social media like a freight train.  It has and will continue to play a large role.
6560  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Ethereum? on: February 10, 2018, 07:40:51 PM
There is hardly any comparison to be made between these to crytpocoins.  First off they are made for completely different things.  Bitcoin was created as a global payment system.  Ethereum was made for smart contracts and applications being built on their platform and Ether to be used as a medium to pay one another.  Ethereum has a lot of issues of it's own it needs to worry about, one glaring issues being that it only utilizes a single layer vs other like ADA who utilize 2..for smart contracts that's an issues. Long story short two coins two different jobs entirely.
