If you have free electricity or free power source mining for you is profitable and it depends on what mining machine you have because if you mine coins with GPU the ROI will take years before you reach the ROI. But if you are mining with ASIC miner I think you can reach the ROI fast.

You don't need a deep knowledge of Hardware/software. It is enough if you know how to maintain your miners or how to clean them and knowledge to set up the pool is enough.
6562  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Only one hashing board working on S9 on: August 18, 2019, 06:15:06 PM
Have you tried to upgrade the firmware to the latest version? The latest version is "Antminer-S9i-xilinx-201907311618-autofreq-user-Update2UBI-NF-sig.tar.gz"

Try flash it first to the latest version then check the miner's configuration and look for working mode and try to check which settings will fix your issue until you choose "lower power mode". If not working do a hard reset and repeat.

You can find the guide from here https://support.bitmain.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003595387-How-to-reset-miner-to-factory-settings-
Do the 1st and 3rd method and ignore the 2nd method.

If nothing works there is a problem on PSU or Hashboard.
6563  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Remote SSH into Antminer S15 (or S17) on: August 17, 2019, 12:32:38 AM
No, you can't downgrade them 2019 firmware has signature restriction you can't downgrade them just like in s9. Bitmain is not releasing image/firmware yet for flashing these miners through SD card.

I don't if you can enable SSH of these miners but there are some guides here on the forum.

Check this below.

- Antminer Hack S9 /S15 / S17 / Sx aso. SSH and so on for free
- Restoring SSH Method

I don't know the 2nd one if it will work on both s15 and s17.
6564  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Sending bitcoin to an address not saved on Electrum on: August 16, 2019, 11:33:48 PM
Electrum has the tab receive, when I open the tab it creates an "address to receive" and gives the option to add description, quantity and the expiring time with the option to save it.
However I just copied the address without adding description, quantity, expiring time and sent bitcoin to it.

It seems that you are in the receiving tab where you can request and save. It is not the place where you can make a transaction as Tryninja said you don't need to do anything just copy the address is enough. You can also go to the addresses tab and you will see all address you own including change addresses.
If you are going to send bitcoin send tab is the place where you can send bitcoin?

Little update

You are here if you want to copy the address just copy the address you don't need to put anything here.
So if you sent a bitcoin to that address the bitcoin transaction will show in the history tab.

If you want to make a transaction you should be here:

6565  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Strange frequency readout S9; Latest firmware but can't see Enhanced Low Power on: August 16, 2019, 11:20:12 PM
It is august firmware

Did they remove the Enhanced Low Power Mode in the august latest version? Why?
No they just move this on “Miner Configuration” for august firmware
You can read this updated article from Bitmain from here Instructions of new multi-option firmware

And why is the frequency for each board showing 1824? but the total is showing correct at 633? Is the controller going bad?
It might be a bug why not try to report it to the Bitmain support about this so that they can make a patch for this new firmware.

There is no way to go back to older firmware?
I think you can downgrade it through SD card flashing but I think you don't need to worry about the "low power mode" because they added it on the drop-down menu in multi-option(Miner configuration).

Should I try a custom firmware like Braiins?
No need, everything you need is already in august firmware except for SSH.
6566  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Braiins OS: open-source mining firmware [S9, T1]. New release includes AsicBoost on: August 16, 2019, 10:58:56 PM
No, you can't configure the dev fee and I think they don't have a dev fee unless if you have programming skill to modify the firmware.

If you are planning to modify it check this open-source from here https://github.com/braiins/braiins-os
6567  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Good app to buy and sell on: August 16, 2019, 08:51:16 PM
Examples include Binance, Kucoin, and GBX Exchange.

I agree for 2 exchanges mention above but no for GBX exchange honestly never heard of it and look at the volume from coingeko it's too low with no 24hrs volume. For me, it is not safe to use even on the app.

Anyway, Binance is the best option for me to trade Bitcoin "buy and sell" the Binance app is very responsive and never had any issue yet but I am not using it for daily basis I just using it when converting my bitcoin to USDT.
You can find the apps from this URL https://www.binance.com/clientDownloads.html

For KuCoin they are also great I use it to exchange some coins but I mostly trade in Binance.
The right URL to download the KuCoin app you can find from here https://www.kucoin.com/download
6568  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Receiving Address Disappeared After I Sent Bitcoin on: August 16, 2019, 08:29:09 PM
I am using the latest version of Electrum

Where exactly did you download the latest version of Electrum?

I tried to check your xpub from here https://blockpath.com/wallets/local/101?action=appxpub but the result "No Used Addresses Found Sad" it means no addresses are used yet(receive or sent) from your wallet.

If you download the Electrum wallet from another source, not from the original website you might be phish with fake Electrum wallet.
6569  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Problems with Coinomi Wallet - ERC 20 token transfer on: August 16, 2019, 08:04:49 PM
I found some solution from coinomi support and I think it will help to take the token out from your ETH wallet.

First follow this guide "Linking to MyEtherWallet (MEW)"
And another step is this one "I get a Broadcast Error when trying to send or exchange.
6570  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: recover multiple wallet ?? on: August 15, 2019, 09:54:15 PM
Try this one below never tested this but someone tried this just make sure that you know some possible password of your wallet.dat.

6571  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoind UTXO address private keys not in wallet on: August 15, 2019, 09:39:44 PM
Did you tried to dump the private key of the address(The unspent address) using console and this command dumpprivkey

Can you try this command line in the console below.
Code:
validateaddress "address"

To check if you own this address
it should show something like this below.

Quote
{
"isvalid" : true,
"address" : "1umybitcoinaddress54321",
"ismine" : false,
"account" : ""
}

If the 'ismine' shows "false" it is not your wallet address but if the result is "true" you own that address.
6572  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Finger Print Blockchain wallet on: August 15, 2019, 05:53:59 PM
What wallet you are talking about that asking for fingerprint verification?
Never heard any bitcoin wallet that asking for fingerprint. For me, it's not safe because giving fingerprint is just like giving your identity.
So I suggest you go for 4 digit pin than a fingerprint.

If you want a secured wallet only hard wallet and cold wallet are the best and secured. Like ledger nano as hardware wallet or offline Electrum wallet for the desktop wallet.
6573  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Antminer Hack S9 /S15 / S17 / Sx aso. SSH and so on for free on: August 14, 2019, 11:42:29 PM
Ive been tryng to downgrade the firmwear my T9+ for about a week and Im having no luck. The board will not take a sd card flash no matter what I try, I am not technical enough to truly dig in to the firmware (though I did try for about 1.5 days...) so I bought a ftdi but Im not having any luck with it either. I have cooltherm and the ft232 drivers installed and the pin outs connected correctly to the t9+ board and ftdi but I am not prompted to log in when I open cooltherm or plug the ftdi into the computer or press the connect button inside cooltherm. I have the baud rate at 115000, the miner board is powered up, what am I missing? How do I make the ftdi and miner board talk? Im assuming once they are communicating I can modify the bin file (or whatever its called specifically) via cooltherm and then upgrade/downgrade out of the ssh version of the firmwear thats on my board at the moment? Sorry for all the questions, ill get this newb knocked off me soon I promise!

How about the jumper? Did you know that you need to move the jp4 jumper before you flash the miner.
Check this guide on how to flash the antminer t9+ with SD card from here "T9+ Control Board Program Recovery"

About FTDI I think this tool is only for old ASIC miner.

6574  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Were my bitcoins stolen? on: August 14, 2019, 09:32:55 PM
It seems that you accidentally click the popup window with a suggestion to download the latest version then redirect you to the fake electrum website.

If your balance is gone after upgrade your bitcoin is totally gone and there is no way to recover them back.

Since you use electrum 3.0 before you receive your bitcoins, most of the servers of old electrum version are forcing you to click fake electrum website if you click the link there and download the fake electrum there's no way to reverse it.
6575  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CoinPayments: how it works? on: August 14, 2019, 08:53:11 PM
Don't know, unfortunately. I'm studying php to solve this and other site problems. Smiley

Anyway it's a funny news. CoinPayments scammed me with the initial 3 customers ahhahaha
Blocked my account for: possible fraud site.
While my site sell software written in vb.net produced by.......... ME! Cheesy
I had to refund my friends with paypal... yes they bought to test the new system. (Care that paypal is not better  Grin)

Anyway, I go with classic way. They pay me with BTC and I with a local wallet will enjoy my funds.

What software or CMS you are using to develop PHP or are you just creating a website with Dreamweaver?
I suggest you to try WordPress as your CMS and BTCpay as your plugin you can use their 3rd party hosted payment processor.

You can find all guides to implement BTCpay in your website from here https://docs.btcpayserver.org/

CoinPayments nowadays is not advisable to use due to many countries are restricted.

If you are looking for another payment processor to accept BTC you can check this List of Awesome Bitcoin Payment Processors
6576  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: how to confirm bitcoin tx with my antminers s9 on: August 14, 2019, 08:31:17 PM
However, if you are solo-mining simply include the transaction into your block when calculating it.

And you need to find software which let you manually choose transaction, since i don't remember any up-to-date mining software for solo mining (unless you open-source pool server)

You can't do that too easily you need to win a block before you can include the transaction on the block if you have a big farm with high hashrate maybe you can but if you only have few miners with solo-mining, no you can't.

Some pool operators can do that. I heard that in F2pool you can choose transaction to include on the block but only on their selected participants.

6577  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: The most secure wallet without downloading blockchain on: August 13, 2019, 11:44:32 PM
I love you guys.
I opt for Electrum.

Don't forget to download it directly to the real URL or domain which is https://electrum.org/ because there are many fake websites promoting fake Electrum wallet.

I would like you to be aware of fake electrum websites from this thread ⚠⚠️⚠~Beware on active phishing Electrum websites~⚠⚠️⚠ (Collection list updated)

And also guide on How to verify Electrum (for Windows, Linux and Mac)

Why not try Wasabi it is another best option with coinjoin. it is just like the same as Electrum but it only support segwit wallet..

It is a local wallet? So it can't be controlled by companies or possibilities to froze funds until KYC approvation?
Electrum has no KYC and it is not controlled by companies no one can froze or freeze your wallet except you who know about the seed phrase and private keys.
6579  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: pay on the web with bitcoin on: August 13, 2019, 10:33:38 PM
Additional to Tryninja

Since your website CMS is Prestashop you can install the BTCpay plugin with this CMS.

You can find the guide from their Github here https://github.com/btcpayserver/prestashop-plugin/blob/master/GUIDE.md or directly from here Prestashop Plugin for BTCPay server, an opensource Payment processor

This is the best option than using coinpayments and coinbase so no need for KYC.

Another option that I know is blockonomics it supports Prestashop website.

Other lists of the payment processor that accepts bitcoin self-hosted and hosted payment processor.

6580  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Challenge with binance dex on: August 13, 2019, 08:23:14 PM
It looks like the two option is no longer supported but I tried to unlock mine it shows 4 option to open the wallet.

Look at this image below.

Did you see these another two option the keystore and Mnemonic phrase?

If not report this directly to binance.org and request to recover your account through phrase.

Here's the post from binance assistant "Binance Web Wallet Drops Support Unlock by Mnemonic Phrase"
