6561  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The danger of the cyptocurrencies on: April 08, 2017, 07:27:20 AM
You are probably aware of the recent news about removing the fiat money for good and building up the cashless world.

Have you thought that bitcoin maybe the first step of this utopia? What if CIA behind this project? Would you still keep your money as bitcoins? Would you trust them? Do we know who the hell is Satoshi Nakamoto? I suure don't.

There is one big danger ahead. If the paper money gets removed, you will have no choice but to accept to get paid in crypto currencies. And to the big point:

If you keep your money in a goddamn computer, the government can rip you off instantly if they wanted it. I am not saying they aren't doing that already as most of us are keeping *our wealth in the banks. But cryptos will make their jobs easier. Much easier.

What if bitcoin price rises to 1.000.000$ and gold and USD become literally worthless? That's when bitcoin will be the world currency, and people gonna realise that gold is just a stone, USD is just a toilet paper.

Your won't have another choice but to store your money only in crypto, because the other choices will be worthless!

I am not sure if that's a good thing. Being dependent so much on computers just scares me.

Bitcoin or even the actual money that we use and almost everything harbors risk, danger but it is up to you if  you will give in to these dangers, make use of these dangers, proceed with these dangers, or avoid these dangers
6562  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin money? on: April 07, 2017, 02:31:36 PM
Bitcoin is something radically new. Nothing like Bitcoin has been possible until now. I would go so far as to consider it sui generis; "in its own class".  This makes it important to understand what Bitcoin actually is before we try to describe it to others.

We're getting a good handle on the code, and of course on Bitcoin's function and utility, but what words should we use to describe Bitcoin itself? There has been some debate in other threads [mostly my doing] over how it is like/not like money, cash, dollars, etc. I'd like to start this thread by focusing on the term "money", and play Devil's avocate by asking for your best arguments that Bitcoin IS money.

My legal dictionary states "In usual and ordinary acceptation it [money] means gold, silver, or paper money, used as circulating medium of exchange, and does not embrace notes, bonds, evidences of debt, or other personal or real estate." [cites omitted]

Wikipedia says "Money is any object that is generally accepted as payment for goods and services and repayment of debts in a given country or socio-economic context. The main functions of money are distinguished as: a medium of exchange; a unit of account; a store of value; and, occasionally, a standard of deferred payment." [cited omitted]

Webster's Online Dictionary defines money as:
    • 1. The most common medium of exchange; functions as legal tender; "we tried to collect the money he owed us".
    • 2. Wealth reckoned in terms of money; "all his money is in real estate".
    • 3. The official currency issued by a government or national bank; "he changed his money into francs".
    • 4. A piece of metal, as gold, silver, copper, etc., coined, or stamped, and issued by the sovereign authority as a medium of exchange in financial transactions between citizens and with government; also, any number of such pieces; coin.
    • 5. Any written or stamped promise, certificate, or order, as a government note, a bank note, a certificate of deposit, etc., which is payable in standard coined money and is lawfully current in lieu of it; in a comprehensive sense, any currency usually and lawfully employed in buying and selling.
    • 6. In general, wealth; property; as, he has much money in land, or in stocks; to make, or lose, money.
    [links omitted]
    [/list]

I maintain that per these definitions, Bitcoin cannot possibly be described as "money". And further, I think that those who do describe Bitcoin as "money" are doing this community a disservice.

But that is just my point of view. Are there any that can convincingly argue otherwise, that Bitcoin IS money?

Bitcoin is not money for it doesn't fit the definition of money but we can say that it functions or acts like money. It is a currency without a concrete form that only exist in a cyberworld hence we call it cryptocurrency.
    Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines currency as:
    1 a : circulation as a medium of exchange
b : general use, acceptance, or prevalence<a story gaining currency>
c : the quality or state of being current :currentness2 a : something (as coins, treasury notes, and banknotes) that is in circulation as amedium of exchange
b : paper money in circulation
    c : a common article for bartering
d : a medium of verbal or intellectualexpression

You'll see that Bitcoin fits to the definition
Hence, we can conclude that Bitcoin is not money but it is a currency (a cryptocurrency to be precise). We may call it a commodity then we can say that Bitcoin is the promoter of the new age of barter trading! A digital or modern kind of bartering!
6563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: April 07, 2017, 01:56:16 PM
Bitcoin will naver make banks disappear, that is just insane.
true the reason is very simple bitcoin will not be able to beat fiat because fiat is the main currency in each country and fiat will require banks

It's a possibility actually but for now the chances for bitcoin to make banks disappear is very low or in other words it is still impossible. For it to be possible, Bitcoin should spread its influence deeper and deeper so that it will increase the number of people who patronize (consumers or anything they call it) it from the way they spend money up to their culture for the paper money they have used up to today roots deeply to their culture and reflects the authority of the government to the rest of its jurisdiction.

I find some Bitcoin coin this day on internet which took to a progress , no one knows who is the real owner of bitcoin and the owner is just hiding on its alias name Satoshi nakamoto, so with the power of people they can make it happened because there are no owner (right now) that can claim and stop people to change it to fiat which will be more better.

Worst mistake in gambling is like putting all your money there and hoping to get rich from it. That is the worst mistake a gambler would ever made because no one really wins from gambling but only the house. Gambling willl just ruin our life if we take it seriously and get addicted with it.

As i gamble very often it would be very lucky for me to win in gambling. So if i would win that time i would not continue to play it. I would just withdraw it and put it to something useful. Even if i gamble seriously i would not recommend doing it as it would just be a waste of money and doing gambling will never become profitable.

Well this is true if you do not follow the basic rules

    1) To have discipline in life
    2) Self control that only this amount to be played if lost, then you will leave the casino
    3) Not to borrow any money from any one

It depends on a person though, following this rules might just lower the risk of losing too much money and not really want to quit gambling. Gambling is not that easy to quit if it becomes a habit, because no matter what you do, it is just feel that your day is incomplete without you doing it, so there is no way to quit just like that.

It is like you are trying to forget someone you knew even though you know you cannot, but if you are really dedicated to do so, then you can do it, just don't fool your own self with your promises.

6572  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hey guys do real BTC is starting falling apart ? on: March 25, 2017, 03:55:41 PM
It is not falling apart, we are just experiencing this huge price drop because of this Hard Fork dilemma, and we don't have to panic and start selling or converting our bitcoins, we have to relax because soon, this thing will be over. Bitcoin will not fall apart just like that because a copy cat coin has arrived, trust me, it is just temporary.

Before we know it, bitcoins price will skyrocket again because this Hard Fork thingy will vanish, and like the usual, bitcoin will remain the highest coin amongst all the coins here in the crypto world.
6573  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can i do with Bitcoin? on: March 25, 2017, 02:31:19 PM
With bitcoin, you can do anything. It all depends on what your goals are.
You can simply hold it, or you can buy the goods using bitcoin. You can use bitcoin as an investment.

Okay, but for me, we should use bitcoin on the things that we do need, and worth to buy using bitcoin, I mean those stuffs that could only be bought by using bitcoin. As long as we could buy something or go to somewhere, travel around the world using fiat, then we don't have to use this bitcoins, because for me it is like we are throwing away our profits that we could have in the long run in saving bitcoin.
6574  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing money on bitcoin..! on: March 25, 2017, 01:24:24 PM
Nowadays many people are starting to invest money on bitcoin or the buy bitcoin..is this a good approach?
How this will influence us in future?

It depends on a person, if he is good on managing his money, then investing some of his money to bitcoin is a good idea. This is a good approach because it is a long term investment which you could get profits in the long run, and compare if you are going to invest your money in the bank, investing your money in bitcoin is more profitable for me, because the price is always fluctuating, and every time it fluctuates, it gets higher and higher.

Though right now, we are having a huge price drop because of this Hard Fork drama, but I know that this is just for temporary, and I'm not going to do panic sell like some of us are doing because of being afraid that bitcoins price might get even smaller.
6575  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why trading is better than gambling? on: March 25, 2017, 04:52:14 AM
Hey! guys i need your opinion and help because i didn't know about this trading thing i only know about how you can earn bitcoin by gambling but still my friend told me that gambling is not the way to earn bitcoin but if you try trading you will earn much profit why is that so guys? trading is better than bitcoin? how? why? where to find that trading thing?

Trading will always be a better than gambling because it is much profitable and that is the reality facts. Gambling will just give frustration and disappointment in the end, and worst loses of money will wasted only.

Not always to be honest. Trading is not that easy, and it could be risky like gambling if you don't have enough knowledge about it, on how things work there, what is the right way to have huge profits something like that. Trading is much better compare to gambling if you know what you are going to do here, you must know when are you going to buy and sell your Altcoins to have a huge profit.
6576  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are dice sites reliable? on: March 25, 2017, 03:59:44 AM
I play dice on a site and I do sometimes question whether they manipulate the game. It's probably legit, but it seems that I get losing streaks at inconvenient times. But I guess there's really no convenient time for a losing streak.
Just only play on provably fair sites and check whether the provably fair mechanism is correct.
If you do that, you don't have to worry about the game being fair, it just is since it's provable Smiley

You might also want to try those gambling sites which have only low percentage of house edge, for you percentage of winning gets higher. Well, still, it is a gambling site, we are still going to lose and lose most of the time because that is how it works, you could never beat the house, the house always win.

The term "reliable" is not really appropriate in this gambling sites, it is, if we are going to use it in bitcoin, because it is really reliable, but not on this online Casinos which only making our bitcoin vanished in no time whenever we gamble.
6577  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin business idea on: March 25, 2017, 03:31:53 AM
I wanted to create a E commerce Bitcoin related online store where all products are sold in bitcoins payment system with less margin.

I'd rather go with a gambling site than making creating an E-commerce bitcoin related online store, because you might lose a large of profit here, considering that not all of your stuffs you sell there is going to be buyable and everybody would love it, though in a gambling site, it maybe requires a large amount of capital to make one, but at least, you are sure that you could earn a lot of money here if, your games here are pretty interested and are not boring to play with.

And having a game like this would need a lot of time for you to think about, what is this game, it should be unique compare to the games on the gambling sites right now, and so on.
6578  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling loses and wins on: March 25, 2017, 03:01:18 AM

The fact is they are the rich people who have high bankrolls and won't care about the winning or loosing as gambling is an hobby for them and an form of entertainment so even if they will loose they will take it lightly and positively and continue to gamble even after loosing.

Some people take things lightly. They dont care when they win or lose when gambling. In fact that few days there are one gambler that lose over 300 btc in just a few bets. That is a very huge amount despite the current price, perhaps it is a life changing amount that could be usefull to do other thing despite losing it to a gambling site

It is their money, and we are out of place if we are going to complain that they should not use their money on gambling and it would be great if they are going to donate it to some orphanages or make a project that could help poor people, something like that. The truth behind this is they are just rich people who gets bored because they don't know where to spend their money, that is why some of them are spending too much in gambling, some are winning, some are not.
6579  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should Bitcoin even have a future? on: March 25, 2017, 02:35:51 AM
Bitcoin is living for almost 8 years in this cryptocurrency world, if I'm not mistaken. Bitcoins started on a very small price where FAUCETS are giving 1 btc just for free, and right now, bitcoin is a very superior amongst of all the Altcoins living here in the cryptocurrency world, and we didn't expect that, because we thought that bitcoin is just for temporary, it is like a prototype and Satoshi Nakamoto was just having a test when he first released the bitcoin in the crypto world.

But look where bitcoin is right now, it is on the top of hundreds or thousands of Altcoins out there soaring high, and they can't reach it, because in all of them, bitcoin is the only one which do have a FUTURE and I don't doubt that anymore.
6580  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Trading vs Gambling on: March 23, 2017, 05:42:40 AM
Just curious since the last discussion I had was about gambling vs trading. I know trading can seem to be a bit of a gamble as well, but I see it a little bit like poker. It's a combination of math and psychology. Maybe not the same ratio though, just generalizing  Tongue
trading is more safer than playing gambling for me since I started trading with my friends I really made profit with trading when you know what coin you will be stacked up on exchange but if you do had lots of money you can invest it wether coin you want to stacked and then just wait for the price to be increase. And then sell them to made a good profit.

Correct, but still, there are some risks also in Trading, but not as big as the risks in gambling. You could also lose money in Trading if you don't have enough knowledge in Trading. Like if you are just going to buy an Altcoin without thinking if this is a good choice, and if its price would PUMP in no time, something like this.

E D I T: Also, you might want to use correct terms of words, for you not to lose money in trading. Smiley
