6581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Eagle FC to fighters in Bitcoin on: December 30, 2021, 09:21:09 AM
Anyone familiar with contracts explain to me what does he mean by "not give me any pushback on it". Does this mean there will be no cuts or taxes deducted from his pay?
Taxes would be paid once the coins get converted to fiat. But that's not what he meant with pushback, I think. He was probably trying to say that the Eagle FC organization was not causing problems and showing a negative stance towards him for wanting to receive his fees and salary in Bitcoin. He might have attempted to land a similar deal elsewhere, and ran into problems because he wanted Bitcoin.
6582  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why should Gambling be legalized ? on: December 30, 2021, 08:54:43 AM
Legal or illegal, people will always find ways to gamble. There is no difference between that and drugs and prostitution. If I want to have sex with a hooker while smoking a joint, I don't really care what my government has to say about it. In most normal countries, gambling is legalized and regulated. What I don't like to see is minors in casinos and sports bookies. Despite it being against the law, the owners will often look the other way preferring to take their money instead of kicking them out.

A smart government should be interested in legalized gambling and take advantage of the taxes that come from it.
6583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best crypto sportsbook for 2021 on: December 30, 2021, 08:46:06 AM
I voted for Sportsbet.io. Sportsbet, FortuneJack, and recently Betja are the only platforms I use to gamble on sports. Betja is missing from the list, but I doubt it would get many votes with such competition.

Why Sportsbet?
Instant deposits, never had issues or questions being asked during withdrawals. Fast processing of wagers, wide and diverse offer of markets for all sports. Various promotions for customers and bet boosters.
6584  Economy / Exchanges / Re: 2 Factor Authorization for Coinbase and Gemini on: December 30, 2021, 08:40:32 AM
Centralized exchanges like Coinbase or Gemini don't give you access to seed phrases.
Whenever you set up 2FA on an exchange for example, the site will show you a recovery key. You are supposed to write that down somewhere safely. And no Jerry that doesn't mean storing the key digitally or saving it in your password manager like you do with your seed phrases!

Everything is explained to you during the set up process. Just read what it says.
6585  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How is the safest of the 'safest ways' to store Bitcoin? on: December 30, 2021, 08:31:48 AM
When the lives of your family members are at risk, it doesn't really matter how you store your coins. What are you going to do? Are you going to tell the robbers I am not giving you my coins, feel free to torture my wife and child?!

If a robber knows about Bitcoin, gets access to your phone, and finds a crypto wallet, he will try to get you to give it to him. The only way you can protect yourself is by not storing all your coins in the same wallet. Diversification is the key. Keep just a portion in a hot wallet (such as a phone), while the rest is safely stored and inaccessible. If you have to give it up, you only give the robbers the keys to your hot wallet. They can't possibly know about the rest if there is no info about it on your phone and if you haven't told someone about it.
6586  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Donation Campaign For 15-Year-Old Swimmer Lana Pudar on: December 30, 2021, 08:04:23 AM
First attempts to reach out to Lana and her team were made yesterday.
She can't be contacted over her official Facebook page > https://www.facebook.com/lanapudarofficial.
So I sent her a message over Instagram from a brand-new Pmalek account.
https://www.instagram.com/lanapudar/

To be completely transparent, I am posting screenshots of that message + the message itself so that anyone who wants to can translate it with Google Translate or some other service and understand it.

Draga Lana,

Donation Campaign For 15-Year-Old Swimmer Lana Pudar
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5378653.0

Sve najbolje,
Pmalek

I found something interesting after I sent out this message. I came across Lana's official website > https://lanapudar.com/.
Looks like she is somewhat familiar with crypto. At least with NFTs. She has a collection on sale that can be reached through her website (https://nftdeals.io/lana-pudar/?id=5). Let's see if there will be a response.
6587  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano X Battery Pandemic on: December 30, 2021, 07:28:25 AM
You're in luck [someone else already archived the first one]: Link
Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to work either. It's only showing me an error message saying that Wayback Machine has not yet achieved or indexed the video yet. Too bad.
6588  Other / Meta / Re: Question for all moderators on: December 29, 2021, 01:32:26 PM
Bitcointalk doesn't moderate scam and the staff doesn't take sides and makes decisions what is a scam and what isn't. Therefore, you are allowed to discuss or advertise any services and sites you want unless you are breaking one of the forum rules while doing that. Since you mentioned 1xBit, you are free to advertise that site as well. They have been running signature campaigns on the forum for a while now, and the moderators don't interfere in the process. What can and does happen is that DT members will give you a negative feedback for promoting scams. This has nothing to do with Bitcointalk admins and is not moderated either.
6589  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano X Battery Pandemic on: December 29, 2021, 01:24:02 PM
I see you have good skills in making fake stuff, so can you please reproduce that video with jackpot running numbers when entering pin code, can't wait to see that...  Cheesy
I wasn't able to watch the videos, seems like the uploader has deleted them already.

Please check reputation, registration day and post history of  reddit account imm_uol1819 who posted that image.
He is not some jocker doing mirror images like you did, and other guy shevek65 said that same thing happened to him when he used a wall charger.
Reputation means very little. Ledger had a good reputation before they pissed all over it. All I am saying is images can be faked. Whether or not they are, is a different story. The possibility of that happening is there. People can shill all kinds of things for various reasons. Rivals make their competitors look bad in all spheres of life.

This is probably some power issue and because most people use PC connection they don't have so many reports about this.
Yeah, that could be it.
6590  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Taproot proposal on: December 29, 2021, 09:40:42 AM
<Snip>
That's weird. They announced they will be supporting and upgrading their systems for Taproot at the beginning of November. What is positive from all this is that the affected user has received a refund of his coins and he has withdrawn them into his private wallet. Whether or not he managed to withdraw to a taproot address is still unclear. But if you still can't do it, I assume there is still a problem with taproot addresses.
6591  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Being charged 10% when sending on: December 29, 2021, 09:14:16 AM
When you send Bitcoin, don't think in fiat or USD terms. If you are sending 0.5 BTC to someone and the destination address gets credited with 0.5 BTC, you have done your part. You have sent 0.5 BTC to the receiver. The receiver can look at that and say that you sent $23.860 worth of BTC (according to preev right now) or they can say that it's only worth $22.000 to them. Potentially also $24.000. If you are sending Bitcoin, that's the only unit that you should think about.

It's very rare, but some platforms can apply a deposit fee for some reason. That could explain a difference in the fiat value. But again, if the same amount of BTC reaches the destination, there is nothing wrong with your wallet.
6592  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano X Battery Pandemic on: December 29, 2021, 08:45:39 AM
This is the result when I flipped it horizontally > Then rotated it 180°: Result [something is definitely off]
This is done in shitty paint in literally 1 minute without paying any attention to the details. I have some basic Photoshop skills and I could make it better of course. Imagine working on the image for a few hours to make it look perfect and crystal clear. You can obviously see the copy-pasted box that I just pasted in. With enough time and skills, that's easily fixed.

6593  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Why I wouldn't buy Ledger Nano S ever again? on: December 29, 2021, 08:17:31 AM
But I am about to buy a new HW wallet. What do you guys think is the best option right now? The software should be open source and the memory should be enough to manage at least 10 coins. Is Ledger Nano X a good option?
My Nano S works just fine for several years, but I would never upgrade it to the Nano X. I am against the idea of Bluetooth, a battery (especially following the fiasco with all those battery hardware problems that the Nano X had), and I don't need storage space for 100 coins. I wouldn't be able to write down 100 coins to save my life. And neither could those who say that is the reason for their purchase of a Nano X.

However, it would be nice if the Nano S could at least support 4-5 installed coins at once. But it doesn't.
Based on what is available right now. I would probably take one of the two Trezor HWs. Just make sure you extend your seed with a long and secure passphrase. But don't expect to get one of those until February either, unless you are purchasing one from an official reseller who still has some.
6594  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano X Battery Pandemic on: December 29, 2021, 08:05:09 AM
@dkbit98
Dude that looks fake. What is that? A Ledger turned upside down with the screen and text mirrored?
The Nano X is upside down. That black button is supposed to go on the left. The metal cover part goes on the right.

See how Ledger just broke my Internet Wink

6595  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Confusing SPV server spies? on: December 29, 2021, 07:47:20 AM
In addition to the replies above, if you don't want to broadcast a transaction via Electrum, then once you have signed it you can simply export the raw transaction hex and then use a link such as one of the following to broadcast it instead:
https://mempool.space/tx/push
https://blockchair.com/broadcast
https://blockstream.info/tx/push
https://coinb.in/#broadcast
That's one way to approach it if you don't want privacy-infringing Electrum servers to get certain data from you. But what if some or all of those blockchain explorers are also honeypots that collect, store, and share user data with companies and agencies interested in conducting various kinds of analysis? You will be avoiding one problem but creating another one elsewhere...

It's time we get some updates in this thread.
I present to you How to do English in multiple colors and stuff. Special characters - so much, quotations and punctuation marks - oh yes please.
Extraordinary!

It'll be double if you consider "Bump the Topic" <A lot of people will respond to get Merits, so that subject matter might be first> firstly then You can try "False Critiques" <If you can show it, it's far like promoting deserves for wonderful comments, that is conduct that merits poor acceptance as true with>

Therefore, you want to prove that Merit resources use Merit (indirect promoting) to get high-quality remarks.
6597  Other / Meta / Re: Can a merit source use it's status to shill own project by giving merit ? on: December 29, 2021, 07:27:54 AM
but i don't know if you have pm him already that motivates him to come online
I PMed him like I said he would. I am sure he read the PM and saw the link in it. Otherwise, he wouldn't have distributed all those merits in this thread. He probably doesn't think this is even something worth discussing.
Honestly, OP should just lock the thread. @FunctionalFedora lock it up!

This is just a sad combination of words that resemble meaningful sentence-like structures.
6598  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stake.com & responsible gambling? on: December 28, 2021, 01:45:52 PM
Stake does not work with this register sadly. In my opinion Stake really has to tighten their responsibile gambling. Maybe perform KYC checks upon depositing instead of letting them play and on a big win start asking for KYC.
You can't compare a crypto casino to regular fiat-based platforms who adhere to strict regulations. People involved with crypto don't want strict control. They especially don't want to undergo KYC. Requiring KYC after a big win is an excuse that many platforms use unfortunately. But again, due to a lack of regulation, that has become a normal thing in this space.

I hope a representative will jump on this thread soon to help solve the issue, since their support is only making things worse.
I don't think you should expect too much. You let your guard down and you gambled. Would this thread have been created if you won $70.000 instead of the $7.000 that you lost, for example? I don't think it would.
6599  Other / Meta / Re: New child board idea - Notable Twitter Threads on: December 28, 2021, 01:12:53 PM
I could do that in a self-moderated thread, but in Press it would violate the POST FORMAT: YYYY-MM-DD SITE - HEADLINE format. It also violates the Guidelines for Press board, but most topics do that already.
An exception could surely be made if the staff decided that it would be a good idea to approve this proposal by the OP. I doubt it though. Something like the WO thread that has its own set of rules (or no rules).

I think such a board would just be a paradise for spammers, and strict board moderation is not something we can expect if we take into account what happened in the Press board.
We have strict moderation in the Mining boards. Many people don't like it, but try and post something with no value, discuss something off-topic, or about GPU-mining and you will see what happens. A moderator can be strict if he chooses to. The Press board is a place where a firmer hand would be welcome.

I might even agree with such a board, but only if the rights to post there would be clearly defined, that is, if they should be approved in advance individually for each member of the forum who would request it.
That might be too complicated. Instead, whoever moderates that place can just ban those from the sub who spam and don't respect the rules. We have seen that being done in the Technical Bitcoin subs, when the mod decided to sanction certain members by removing their posting rights.

Upravo to. Taj auto-run i jeste najznačajniji u cijeloj priči.
