6581  Other / Meta / Re: Why can't I change my avatar? on: December 06, 2014, 12:06:04 PM
It was disabled because some hacker uploaded malicious code using the avatar upload system a long time ago. I asked the same question when I registered.
there is is always someone who ruins it for everybody. i hope the new forum software has better options like following the posts that i like and gives announces when someone quotes or responds to my posts.
Stay tuned, I think it will be very great Wink
At a budget of a million dollars, paying out $100k per month for four programmers, I would certainly hope the new software is well beyond "very great".

I thought the budget is adjusted at approximately 300k$?

No , in one post theymos said that the estimate price of the new forum software is ~ 1mln of $ ... but I can't find the exact thread.

~EDIT :

....

Quote
The $350,000 was just a down payment or the full amount owed? If it is not the full amount how much more could this end up costing us?

The total cost will probably be around $1 million. The $350,000 covers several months of work, after which I will evaluate the performance of Slickage Studios and choose whether or not to continue. In any case, the code will be open source, so no work will be lost.

When will the software be finished?

About one year from now.

6582  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Scammers tracking website - asking for ideas on: December 06, 2014, 12:03:35 PM
Although it's a good idea but it will take a lot of work, as others have already suggested you would have a hard time deciding who to trust, if someone accuses someone else of scamming, you need to have a way of getting to the bottom of the truth and prove before tagging them as scammers. If you have resources and you can do this, go ahead but make sure you have proofs before putting up names.

exactly. you would need a way of verifying that the erson providin feedback on a sepcific transaction, is in fact the peron owning the sending wallet, and the person receiving the money, to be te actul owner of the receiving wallet.
if you can verify this. then your good to go i guess no ?   bu t theres no way of doing this. .

so how about taking it a step higher, you could create a platform to do just that (dont ak me how) an whil i kno most ppl use btc BECAUSE its anon, but im sure ther are any people that would benefit from a platform to vetify wallet owners, both owners and checkers would bnefit obviously

edit: you CAN do this !!

heres how, to verify a wallet owner. have them send 0.0000001 to a specific address. BOOM.  "veriied"

its how pp verifies your bnking account aswell

im liking this idea !!   someone better jump on ths before i do ... Smiley

Or simple signing a message , it is free and you can verify the ownership of that address. Why spend 0.0000001 BTC ?
6583  Other / Off-topic / Re: Skrill manually reversed my 3.8K$ to senders on: December 06, 2014, 10:48:47 AM
I'm not sure why they closed your account, but selling digital goods such as game keys is typically high risk. It's possible somebody paid you with stolen funds and skrill think you are trying to launder funds.

According to the TOS they can reverse the payments if they want:
Quote
11.6. If you conduct or attempt to conduct any transaction in violation of the prohibitions contained in this section 11 or without the necessary approval under section 11.5, we reserve the right to: reverse the transaction; and/or close or suspend your Skrill Account; and/or report the transaction to the relevant law enforcement agency; and/or claim damages from you; and charge you an administration fee of up to 150 EUR in case we apply any of the above.

Unfortunately Blazr har right , and this is another reason to start  use bitcoin Wink.

Yeah , it is allowed here in the forum  to  sell/buy the various forum accounts. Because I think the staff can never stop the multi-account.

6586  Economy / Services / Re: Cryptomine.io - Signature Campaign with a twist - Well worth your time on: December 06, 2014, 10:20:58 AM
This is what I had written on a parallel thread. Carra has asked me to post it here so he can respond.

"The fact that only a few of us were allowed the 10-day payout seems like a classic ploy. Pay a few to keep everyone else quiet for the rest of the month. Question: is there really ever any legitimate reason to not use escrow?"

I've asked a few times the same question , and I also wanted to offer my free escrow service but he didn't want.  I don't know why , but at the end we will see what will happen.  Good luck Wink.
6587  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Scammers tracking website - asking for ideas on: December 06, 2014, 07:13:30 AM
Hello!

I'm determined to develop a bitcoin and crypto scammer tracking website where you could verify if one:
- bitcoin address
- bitcointalk.org
- email address
was ever involved in a scam.

Anybody would be able to add personal informations about scammers and proofs, links or any other info

This service would be free.

What do you think about this?

Will the service be free or must we pay to use it ? However I think it is a great idea , good luck for everything.
6588  Other / Meta / Re: Dank's final testimony on: December 06, 2014, 06:57:37 AM
I'm rather confused why dank was still using this forum anyway. He made it clear he had no interest in Bitcoin, so why choose this topic of forum to promote his rhetoric?

The only logical conclusion I can think of was because his main agenda was to take money from others.

He also said, "the forum just proved everything I said right."
He just doesn't know when to stop does he. Roll Eyes

I don't know maybe for him it is only a joke for pass the time , or maybe he has a plan or something like that .

6591  Local / Mining (Italiano) / Re: Cointeler POOL per minare SCRYPT on: December 05, 2014, 07:32:23 PM

No , magari.

6593  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: December 05, 2014, 07:07:23 PM
why is CoinPiler still on the list? Shocked

Only for sometime... Just wait, he might come out of nowhere to pay the users. Huh Lips sealed

   ~~MZ~~

OP should at least put a * and warn about the payment problem

It's not a payment problem , it is a *scam* . Ppl must learn that an escrow is not more "recommended" but  it is needed.
6594  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: Italcoin (?) on: December 05, 2014, 06:40:27 PM

Old but gold

6595  Local / Mining (Italiano) / Re: Cointeler POOL per minare SCRYPT on: December 05, 2014, 06:32:54 PM

Come mai ?

6596  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] bitcoin or bitcoins ? on: December 05, 2014, 06:28:22 PM
I think bitcoin is more practical because most trade will be < a whole bitcoin.
- snip -

0.142 bitcoin

The question isn't about when it is less than 1 bitcoin.

The question is:

3 bitcoin?
or
3 bitcoins?

Yes , DannyHamilton has understand the question/poll Wink .  In this moment we have 18 votes for bitcoin and 20 votes for bitcoins , interesting results.
