Just saw Spoetnik being added to the list. Well, definitely my vote goes for him. If you have been here for more than 4 years you will probably vote for him because of his posts were on a whole different level. You're probably a legendary member if you voted for Spoetnik.

I had quite a few back-and-forths with Spoetnik back in the day. Wonder what happened to him. He was humorous when he wasn't just unleashing vile bilge. Sometimes he could be a bit too wordy for my tastes -- seems to be a common theme among our trolliest of trolls. I didn't vote for him because there's a few better contenders more worthy of my vote.

I only read the first post, My Take: Philippines is a good choice for living, if you have a work with a work from home set up , you can live $50 daily for a food.

$50? That would be terrific! I actually have become accustomed to living on somewhere between $10 and $30 a day for food. Some days 300 pesos lasts the whole day, mainly because my girlfriend is a great cook. She makes a mean pork adobo. One other thing I never had before that I found out is quite delicious is flayed eggplant battered with egg.

Electricity Rate and Both Water Rate is not that expensive tho yearly they have an outage problem. If your girlfriend is a Philippine Citizen, you can also have to apply for a rent to own house which is i think have an easy paying scheme.

We did rent for about 7 months, and yes it was a lot cheaper, however I never got around to buying an aircon or a decent bed, and after a while, everyone knows where you live and just shows up at your door randomly... I didn't like that part, and prefer to be on the move.

One night the Barangay Tanod told me I should move because there was a known robber who would come visit my next door neighbors. Apparently he was a real bad apple, and they actually feared for my and my girlfriend's safety. They told me, "some day we're gonna have to kill him." So, when the police tell you you should move, its time to move.

Since then I've been living in a combination of cheap hotels and AirBnBs.

Having a decent job with a decent pay you can really survive here in the Philippines. One Major Problem here is the Government, They continue to lick Chinese Government Asses, Duterte's Government is not only "extra judicial killings", Senators, Mayors, Much of them are stupid ass-lickers of Duterte, While Duterte is a stupid ass licker of China. News for this Government's stupidity is not only happening once, it happens everyday and I'm sick of it, Much of the Filipinos are poor, uneducated and uninformed who uses free facebook (a place where idiots shares fake news and continue to support this hellish Government) which made them a fan and a supporter of this Shitty Government.

LOL. Your comment started off so positive. I stay out of politics. I was here in 2016 during the presidential debates, and I remember watching on TV when Rody said they should bring him out to the Spratly Islands on a speedboat, and he will plant the Philippines flag there, and let the Chinese to do him "what they wish." He's pretty much done a 180 degree turnaround on his stance toward China since then, which just goes to show he's also just another politician, to a certain degree.
6583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting: Possible to capitalize on shifting lines? on: August 19, 2019, 04:25:32 AM
Markets get more accurate closer to kickoff, so if the line shifts from -7 to -5, you should assume that the +/- 5 line is the accurate one and that +/-7 was inaccurate. If you can analyze games and bet before the line shifts in your favour, you'll likely almost end up with +EV bets. Otherwise, you can't really capitalize on the shifting lines.

Sharps found value on the +7 line and bet it down to +5. If you bet the +5, you're just chasing steam and betting where all value has been taken. If you bet the -5 line, you're almost certainly just taking a coin flip at odds around 1.96.

This also makes a decent amount of sense... Sounds like its not gonna be easy no matter what I try to do, but I like to go into each game with some kind of logical basis behind why I am betting how I am betting, and not just "because I like the team." I just want to start with a hypothesis and then see if after a certain number of games it has merit or is rejected.

In the latter half of a season I can usually do a little bit better by taking ATS into consideration, and seeing who needs what games in order to get into the playoffs.

In any case, NFL is my favorite sport, and of course it always makes a game more fun to watch if you have action on it.

Only 2 more days to go! Get your votes in now!!

You know what? We totally forgot about gembitz.

He's really only a medium energy troll, and there's no way he would ever win the poll, but its funny how he slipped all of our collective minds. He goes around trolling just about every major coin under the sun while promoting his almost non-existent Bitcoin Instant, ending every comment with his signature catch phrase, "weeeee!"

Here's what he had to say in a negative trust left for Vitalik Buterin:

Antifa, proudboys
Have the chicks or hold the beer
But who’s got the corn

Damn mic, that was deep. Thanks for reminding me its Sunday. I always forget.

Proud Boys

Snip
Extremist on both sides, don't kid yourself. Antifa is just as bad.

Yep I think they are equally as bad. An equal amount of angry morons on both sides.

You see the thing is that is often forgotten with groups like these, is that they generally want the best for the people and country. It's just that what they think is best, and the best way to go about it, is borderline insane.

At the very, very core of it, yes the leaders of both groups I'm sure think they only want what's best for the people and the country. But most people involved are just looking for a reason to unleash some rage, whether it be on a fascist cuck or a communist libtard, the end goal is the same.

Good morning WO,s > +/- 10,170

The truth is that I care very little about the trajectory of gold, but I am surprised how graphics follow the same trend, in different timelines.

While I tend to agree with the text of the tweet, the chart itself is a little misleading. Anybody can compare 2 assets that have both increased in value in the same manner by adjusting the scale and the values on the axis, and show them both starting and ending on the same points. While a rise of 17% for gold may be considered "sharp," bitcoin's rise of 170% is a lot sharper.

Think you will need my contribution here. I will be betting NFL and college football heavier aswell. Some of my bets from last season, and for the haters it also shows my 5 euros baseball bets, i posted on my thread https://imageshack.com/user/WiseInvestor

Back to topic. Currently you are talking about linemovement, 15 years ago everybody bet their bets, watching linemovements. Nowadays it just dosent  work anymore, books are sharp.

Linemovement is caused by many factors, Like weather, yes weather can also cause linemovement, and over/under. Public % on a bet, in your case, we dont know the public % on the patriots. Its most likely heavy public money on chargers that is causing the linemovement. Also patriots might have an injury, that caused moevemnt back to -5. Sharp bettors causing movement, sometimes bookies shade their lines. Public would think, its moving because sharp money is coming in. But it is just a bookies trap, to think u like that. Gotta consider all these things, before just judging the pure line movement.

Nfl is harder to cap than college football. Also it is not boring, u would see more offense and high scoring games in college games.

I know this isn't an easy hypothetical, but let's say between the line open and game day there weren't any discernible changes: no injuries, shifts in weather, etc. The only thing that noticeably changed was the line, from -7 to -5 Patriots. Does that influence your betting decision in any way?
6591  Economy / Gambling discussion / Sports betting: Possible to capitalize on shifting lines? on: August 18, 2019, 04:50:20 AM
The regular NFL season is only a couple of week away and I'm thinking about going pretty hard at it this year. I'm not great at picking NFL teams -- its pretty tough and my understanding is that college is somewhat easier. However, college games can be boring to watch, and I like to watch the games I'm betting on (of course).

Anyway, short of paying close attention to everything, having an idea of how important which variables are, and a little bit of luck, are all pretty important to picking a NFL winner.

However, I'd like to revisit a theory I had earlier about shifting lines... For example, lets say the Patriots are playing the Chargers and open up at a -7 point spread (in favor of the Patriots), then by game day the line has shifted to -5... This means that a bunch of bets had been coming in for the Chargers since the line opened.

Let's say this is not unique to 1 sportsbook, and that all of them have made this change.

How do you use this information to make a more informed bet? Do you bet on the Chargers since a lot of money is pouring into them, or do you bet on the Patriots, because now you can get 2 points for free as compared to when the line first opened? What are your thoughts? Does this make any sense?
6592  Economy / Reputation / Re: Been out for a week, must have missed some drama - who the fuck is ekiller? on: August 18, 2019, 04:37:48 AM
I'm all for decentralizing DT1 as much as possible, but this reeks of trust abuse.

ekiller only shows +1 trust score for me due to my custom list, but +13 on default.  I think that may be the biggest disparity I've witnessed.

Anyway, bracing myself for ~ retaliation.

I have some political capital to spare for a worthy cause. He'll still be at 0 after this. Keeping 2 banned members in your trust list because they gave you positive feedback doesn't look good.

There's another Satoshi out there, making his "big reveal" later today:

First I read it was a press release and thought, oh there's no way this isn't bullshit. Then I saw CCN had picked it up as a news item, and now I still think its bullshit.

I voted for sex. I think about bitcoin a lot, but its just not part of my biological instinct, unlike some of yous.

What sloppy spamsmanship. I can't believe people actually pay you money for such a low level of service. They must be just as stupid as you are. That's the thing about scammers: they're often pretty stupid.

6599  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump wants to buy Greenland on: August 16, 2019, 11:24:46 AM
It was recently that I found out Greenland does not actually belong to the USA. It will be a great achievement if that really happens and I can't doubt the possibility. If Trump and indeed USA is serious about the deal, there are many leverages to use against Denmark and force them to sell. And I really hope that happens.

I still feel some form of regret knowing we once had genuine change at making Canada part of the USA but failed. Canada would have been better off being part of the United States than standing alone. Same with Mexico.  Grin Grin Grin

I envisage a scenario and time when Maxico, Canada, and Greenland would become part of the United States of America. Russia and China would have nothing to brag about in terms of land mass.

This post was off to a bad start, but really came around in the middle section, and then by the end it reached the status of good post.

I for one think it would be a great idea for similar reasons its good to have Alaska: strategically and resource-wise. Its sounds cold as fuck over there but maybe after a few decades of global warming more of it will seem pretty inhabitable.
