6581  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Cryptocurrency One Big Ponzi Scheme? on: January 16, 2019, 04:41:02 AM
There are crypto's that really aimed to become giant ponzi scheme, remember coins like bitconnect and other same projects that hidden themselves in form of crypto so people will not notice what they really are.

You misunderstood the idea of blockchain and even thought about it as a big ponzi scheme. Crypto's are meant to be our alternative option for money transfers but as time goes mature the usage of it becomes different.

By the way, you should understand what's the meaning of ponzi scheme and compare it to crypto.

https://www.investopedia.com/terms/p/ponzischeme.asp

If a coin devs promises you to give you big return after investing to their coin, that's the ponzi.
6582  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Parents Ask for Bitcoin Donations to Newborn Baby in Newspaper Ad on: January 16, 2019, 03:46:23 AM
Wow, I can't believe it. While reading the article and seeing the address, look on how much the baby collected at all. 1 BTC and counting in total as of the moment and it keeps on going.

But using a baby for donation to her college fund, what's her parents do? it wasn't indicated the source of living that her parents do. It will be imitated by others who are pregnant right now, what will be the next reason to fund for their 'bitcoin baby'?
6583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: January 16, 2019, 02:46:51 AM
Wow! Harden did it again, 57 points against the Memphis Grizzlies, I think I find my new MVP at him, probably a back to back for him if he continue to play this way. This is a complete example of carrying his team by himself to win, he is responsible for the 50% of the total scores his team made tonight and almost perfect at free throw line with 17-18,  that area is really where he is good at.
Let the season end and let the stats decide if he's going to be the MVP for this season. No doubt that Harden is such a very versatile and great player, every game he plays his performance is always the best.

The complete example of carrying a team that I've seen before was with Lebron James, I still have faith with LJ but I'm also starting to like the games and performance showed by Harden.

Harden is good right now but has not proven yet to be a great player, Lebron IMO is better than Harden, because if he like to just boost himself, Lebron can do it and he will be a better candidate compared to harden as he is not good in offense but also good in rebounding and defense, that's what harden's lack to be in line with great players like Kobe Bryant, and Michael Jordan which are the most popular in basketball history.
They are too different players but IMO they shouldn't be compared to each other. They have their own greatness and performances, I admire both players and there's no need for me to argument on who's greater or the best.

Lebron is unique in a way of being a flexible player which other players doesn't have and like what you said. Michael Jordan is a legend and if its about the best plays of all, hands off to the man.
6584  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone here got paid in Presearch on: January 16, 2019, 02:17:46 AM
I didn't use nor joined that presearch but that email tells you that your friend shouldn't expect anything from the presearch team. Look at those points that presearch gives the reason if something goes wrong with the claim.

Tell your friend that he should stop wasting his time with presearch. You already knew it that you haven't seen any valid proof of cashout to it, I'm very sorry if your friend took a lot of months to stay there and got nothing.

I'm using this now and might take it off since I am not seeing positive reviews on their telegram channel all I see are complaints I am just attracted on the price on the market https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/presearch/
Jajajaja I guess if this is an interesting thing to see when a team takes care so much about $30 airdrop or whatever he called that. So many complaints and that indicates the credibility of the team.
https://icodrops.com/presearch/
0.18x return in usd terms from the ico price. If Im a part of investors and i will feel the same with those are complaining in the telegram channel  Cheesy

I see! so they are rank 344 currently on coinmarketcap.com but having too many complains makes your friend still stay and hope that he's going to get the amount he should receive.

Basically if there are numerous complains and there's no sign of solution to it, how can you think something positive about that. As mentioned, the credibility of the team lost already so don't think that it's still worth to stay there.

Not very techy but hey, welcome to the forum although you're older than me to get in and has been involved to the economy for quite a long time. I've been reading some future insights about quantum computers and some are very positive to it but there's always a division of opinion regarding that.

I'm not sure on where we will be going by that time but I think we're still far from that day where intervention with quantum computers to crypto happens.
6587  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can bitcoin be profitable to invest in ? on: January 16, 2019, 12:14:25 AM
You need to conduct more and more research, as everyone said DYOR (Do your own research). Bitcoin for us who invested quite early mid of 2015-2016 and earlier whom managed to held up to 2017 surely got profit.

And I've been holding until now, you'll not juts hear good stories who made good money out of bitcoin. There were also people who didn't made money but instead lost a lot of money because they invested at the wrong time and they didn't know what they invested.
6588  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Now is the bear market, which coins are the whales accumulating? on: January 15, 2019, 11:51:49 PM
It is not hard to find, you are just saying that you are saying looking for them. Just search it on coinmarketcap.com and you'll see bunch of coins that you can accumulate. Don't you forget to get bitcoin while the market isn't so good, a lower price for bitcoin is a great time to accumulate.

And there's few altcoins that you can invest with, few investors standards were looking at the ranking but it's up to you if you're going to follow that strategy that they do.
6589  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FUD on Venezuelan Petro Cryptocurrency on: January 15, 2019, 11:27:25 PM
FUD? how can this be a FUD? I thought Petro's slowly going dead. This coin has been said to be backed up by petroleum/oil on Venezuela but just look on how corrupt the government there is.

There's no volume and liquid with petro so why would they are going to invest with that coin? They are just getting a stone to break on their heads if they are going to do that. But with a rumor, it's said that they will invest to bitcoin which I don't believe.
6590  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Addiction Stories and Possible Solutions on: January 15, 2019, 02:40:02 PM
I feel sorry for the people/family who are depending to that guy. They may not know what he's been doing and what he's going through. For every problem there's a solution and it may not be instant but at least there is.
It’s going to be hard for the family especially if he is only the one providing for them, but we will never know that unless you know him. I do feel sory about what he is encountering.
Really going to be tough for the family who's depending on him but if he's not the only breadwinner, they would have to help him get out of his addiction. This is a very serious situation that's hard to flee.

That guy wasn't the very person that experience that kind of addiction, there are other hidden stories out there that are untold. If someone there who's on the same situation, you better think many times before proceeding doing things like that guy on the story of OP.

6592  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Bill Gates & Richard Branson 1.2 billion investment into bitcoin revolution! on: January 15, 2019, 10:55:39 AM
Is that website really affiliated with CNN? It is using the logo of it but its URL isn't CNN. I did a few research about the article and this what I've found out.

https://news.bitcoin.com/richard-branson-speaks-out-against-fake-bitcoin-stories-and-scams/
https://www.virgin.com/richard-branson/beware-fake-bitcoin-scam-stories

These articles relates to the use of his name with false advertisement such as trading scam schemes, etc. just like what that article is promoting that they invested to 'Bitcoin Revolution'.
6593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Cardano and Ripple are the two coins to hold on: January 14, 2019, 12:53:28 PM
Why not include Ethereum? the logic for the market is that, most of the altcoins are very trendy and follows bitcoin most of the time. Good choice for having bitcoin to hold for a long term plan.

I don't have cardano and ripple, I see too much hate for Ripple as many don't like it alone. There are other good coins to hold too after 5 years but we have our very own standards.
6594  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any additional cryptocurrency security tips? on: January 14, 2019, 11:49:23 AM
Don't ever save your private keys to email or any cloud storage. And if someone tries to send you unpopular link, don't get baited by those people. Don't ever be greedy to with such forks that are asking for any information including private keys.

It's okay to store your coins on exchanges if you trade daily and you just put a very small amount. But if you want to put large amount of coins to exchanges, see to it that you can take the amount you keep there.

Only them can help themselves. People that surrounds them are willing to help but if they don't give space for these advices to go through they'll suffer. Cheering them up will help but it's best for them to go seek a specialist.

I feel sorry for the people/family who are depending to that guy. They may not know what he's been doing and what he's going through. For every problem there's a solution and it may not be instant but at least there is.

6598  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Constantinople, the only ethereum hardfork on: January 14, 2019, 08:08:35 AM
ETCV is also a scam. There are testers who caught this fork to be a scam too, getting private keys of those people that wanted to claim their fork. 3:1 ratio is really getting an eye to the interested people who thinks this coin is good enough.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/two-alleged-ethereum-scam-forks-appropriating-users-private-keys-report-finds

Good thing that these forks were exposed before their said forks. Yes, Constantinople is real fork that's going to be done by the real and legit ETH devs.
6599  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will the market improve in 2019? on: January 14, 2019, 07:15:28 AM
Most technical analysis says that the bear market would end by 2019 but you just can't end that without any valid reason. Assuming that there are tons of positive news upcoming to the market for this 1st quarter but it doesn't guarantee such movement ups.

I agree that we have to wait for more year/s (1,2 or more) depends on the situation and on how institutions would react to the current bear market. I think we're still on the accumulation phase that should be taken consideration not just by us but by majority.
6600  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which third-party wallet projects have the largest number of users? Eidoo? on: January 11, 2019, 10:48:12 PM
Wallets are entrance to blockchain? it can be but the application of th technology doesnt really rely on wallets. If blockchain will be adopted by a private company, they will use it to the way they want and that wouldnt need a wallet anymore.

We have wallets as we keep our cryptos there and for real world adoption, that depends on what they will call the storage of their data. And for the third party wallets that has large number of users? I dont know but for the wallet that has large userbase, it is ledgerwallet.
