661  Economy / Economics / Re: Global recession alarm, safe money on: October 13, 2022, 04:23:43 PM
Are you ready to face it?  This condition is caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and uncontrolled inflation and other factors. if you as an investor need to withdraw investment assets or move to other investments or just keep quiet.  what steps will be taken to secure assets to avoid unwanted risks
I think the few things that one should do for sure is first to create a sort of emergency fund or savings fund which can help you with your necessities for atleast next 6 months if you lose your job or business income. Similarly one should then create a basic fund into some fixed asset which will be used for your big expenses in near future which are obviously necessary like can be your marriage or a higher education degree or anything. Rest of the assets you shouldn't touch. An aggresive person might try to sell the assets to buy cheaper later but practically it's almost impossible so not a wise thing to do.
662  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price drops as US inflation reaches 40-Year High on: October 13, 2022, 04:20:50 PM
Just explain this to me please anyone. How even in a normal scenario will inflation in fiat markets effect bitcoin negatively. I mean if you see fiat market is the biggest competition of Cryptos or you can say Cryptos is the biggest alternative for fiat. If fiat is struggling people will tend to pump their money into crypto which will in turn pump the market. How does it makes the market fall? Also if the inflation will go down how will it benefit the crypto market in that scenario?
663  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Strange question. on: October 06, 2022, 08:19:07 PM
I have a question. Suppose Bitcoins price is now $20000 and i have 1 Bitcoin. And i want to sell my bitcoin but accidentally i put the selling price at $2000 and confirmed it for sale. Then what will happens next? I know how buying and selling works on exchanger. In order to sell something someone have to buy it. But what happens if there are no buy order at $2000.

Forgive me if i say something wrong. I didn't try it on exchanger because of the fear of losing money.
I am assuming it's an order book exchange and it's a limit order.
So this is the advantage of the limit order. When any person places a limit buy order it means he is ready to buy upto that price of that asset in this case let's say 20k which means he won't even pay a penny more than that but is ready to agree for anything less as well, similarly when you place a sell order you are ready to sell at a minimum of 20k not a penny less than that but obviously ready to sell more than that if someone agrees. Now suppose you put sell at 2000, the order book will try to find the person who is ready to pay the highest for your asset but anything not less than 2000. So eventually it will take the person ready to pay the highest in order book which will be around the current market price only. So you won't end up losing anything it will act more like a market order.

People saying anything other than this have never traded on Order Book exchanges

I really don't know about the fixing angle of the match but yes this could have been a win for India, start and middle order batting was slow but toward the last 5 overa match was obviously in India's pocket. When Sanju got out I thought match is over but when it was a no ball I thought now India is invincible but honestly Sanju couldn't do anything after that. The problem he doesn't gets highlighted to the selectors is because he plays such knocks but fails to take India to the win which is very necessary to become hero these days. You have to be a match winner to get attention.
665  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why reveal my identity to get bitcoins ? on: October 06, 2022, 07:38:09 PM
Why reveal my identity to get bitcoins if previously it was not so? it seems that now having bitcoin is associated with identity, and that looks unfortunate. I tried to buy with credit card in pages that promise not to ask for your personal data but it was not so.

How can I see the funds I have in a paper wallet created in bitaddress ? I have my public and private code, how can I see the funds or how does it work ?
You can see the funds by searching the public key in any blockhain explorer and you can access it by logging in with your public and private key together in any bitcoin thin client. Talking about revealing identity it's a sad fact but a few people who did scams and frauds are the reason why governments were forced to enforce KYC norms over companies now these companies Don't have any option than to follow the rules or shut down.

Looks like the results are pretty much clear people at this point. India is about to win comfortably against South Africa while Pakistan is about to get decimated by England. Both finals being played on the same day turned out to be an awesome coincidence.

India and England are heading in strong for the upcoming T-20 World Cup while Pakistan and South Africa need to reanalyse their game plans asap.
If I have to make sense of this India vs South Africa match, then it was a contest of Full_Toss_Balls.

South African bowlers were horrible and they paid the price, this doesn't mean India was any better at least in last 5 overs. They did a good job in 15 overs tho, though death bowling still looking shit tbh.

@pakhitheboss Bhai you missed out last pool, check it out if you are interested this time. @Juggy777 you too bhai

Bro! @JSRAW already committed with my close circle group. I will miss this time but I will surely participate in IPL pool next year.

Okay, no worries.
My question honestly is that what sort of pitch this was prepared in Guwahati, a total of more than 450 runs scored in just 40 overs,  it was not that both the sides bowled very bad but I don't know why almost all the balls looked half volley and so easy on bat for everyone. But yes this was a net practice session for a lot of batsmen today. South Africa coule have even won this if Miller would have accelerated a couple of overs before. Obviously south African bowlers are equally to be blamed.
667  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: September 30, 2022, 07:12:43 PM
It seems like the team doesn't want to end up more players getting injured. Maybe thats the reason why Siraj is given opportunity for the last two T20's. Based on the performance after few months of gap might get him shortlisted for the World Cup squad in the place of Bumrah.

Not a big fan of Siraj. IMO, he benefitted immensely from the fact that he is playing for the RCB, at least during the starting years. Siraj has been given a lot of opportunities so far, and he hasn't made use of them in an effective way. I would rather prefer someone like Thangarasu Natarajan, who has an excellent record in Australia (where the T20 world cup is being played). There are a few other options as well, such as Mohsin Khan, Mukesh Choudhary and Kuldip Yadav (not talking about Kuldeep Yadav). And I wouldn't prefer Khaleel, Umran or Avesh, since they have received enough chances till now.
Absolutely true. Siraj has goot way more opportunities than any other bowler like Natrajan, Thakur or even harshal Patel. But at this point I think Directly bringing Shami as replacement of Bumrah made more sense instead of Siraj, but i have heard there was some Covid probability with Shami which was why he didn't play. I feel that no matter how much we guys debate, eventually favouritism is playing a big role in selections.
668  Economy / Economics / Re: A great resignation is incoming to the IT powerhouse of the world on: September 30, 2022, 06:48:27 PM
News Source: https://www.michaelpage.co.in/talent-trends/the-great-x

Michael Page is a renowned HR consultancy company in India and they have forecasted that a great resignation is going to hit India very soon. The key points are -

Quote
1. 86% of employees are planning to resign in the next 6 months
2. 61% of employees are willing to accept a lower salary or a promotion to focus on better work-life balance

We are already seeing a huge amount of attrition in companies like Cognizant, Infosys and TCS with Cognizant leading in this slab with 36% quarterly attrition.

Personally, I lead a team of 70+ associates and around 40% of them have expressed their intent to resign if they are forced to come back to office. It's a huge challenge for many other Indian companies as well.

A huge negative economic impact will most probably follow after this great resignation but it's going to fight the current inflation in India. With less spending by people and with less growth in demand, the inflation may come within controllable range.

Any thoughts?

I think it's true reopening of offices is going to give companies a very negative setback. I heard TCS decided to open up offices recently and it has left whole of the market in a shock, TCS was one of the few companies who had declared permanent wfh for employees and employees had already accepted this fact that they will be working from home now. But now suddenly they have opened offices as well. I think for IT companies obviously it doesn't makes any sense to open offices as eventually they are working for clients which live abroad
669  Economy / Economics / Re: SO MANY BLACK SWANS FOR ONE YEAR on: September 30, 2022, 06:23:17 PM
To be honest only the Ukraine Russia war is the Black swan rest all the repercussions of that. Just as like Covid was a Black swan and fall in petroleum prices was a repercussion of that. Basic thing is that any Black swan has a lot of consequences and after effects and these are all of them. I think on bitcoin they have already shown their effects and won't show anything new at overall level. Infact it's the best time to invest in the market at this time because all the black swans have been accounted for in the price.
670  Local / India / Re: What payment processor are being used globally? on: September 29, 2022, 06:47:05 PM
As everyone has told about it. Bitcoin is cheaper alternative only when you use it in cross border transactions as Western union/ PayPal / credit cards etc. are charging too much. Also the transaction times also are quick if you compare them with these methods. But once it comes to within the border payments there are many sources which are very easy and better and bitcoin then makes no sense as an easy method of transferring money which is why it's not being used.
671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: September 25, 2022, 06:32:36 PM
What a series. First one went to the Ozzies while the second one went to the Indians and the final went to the Indians with a last over finish. This is entertainment at its finest people. Loved watching these two teams play.

Also, I would love to see the faces of Kohli haters who kept criticising him like crazy when he was down. Underestimating a legendary batsman like him is pure stupidity.
Seriously, criticizing any batsmen during his bad form is pure stupidity especially someone who has contributed so much when he was in his best form. I am pretty happy for India now, I think with Bumrah, Shami/Kumar , Arshdeep we can have a good bowling as well and call it a full team. Bhuvi i am really doubtful for the death overs which is why I think you should keep him in the team but finish his overs in first 10, keep Bumrah and Arsh for the death.
672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: September 24, 2022, 07:02:18 PM
Finally the 8 over match have come to an end. India won by 6 wickets and 4 balls left. It was Rohit Sharma who made it a win for India with his performance of 46 runs from 20 balls. The finishing took place as expected, Dinesh Karthik ended with a four. Now the T20 series got levelled and the third T20 will be the decider. Batting second have won in both the matches.
I don't really think result of this match can be taken in consideration while deciding statistics. This match was pretty much an outlier. Both the teams played with an entirely different intent which was to just score runs irrespective of how many wickets to protect. Even the batsmen can't be judged on today's performance except of Rohitman who proved why he is called the Hitman. If he, Kohli and Rahul are back in form India will get a good shape overall.
Yeah and also these sorts of matches are very tough on bowlers. There are hardly any chance for then when the batter starts swinging bat from the 1st ball.

These kinds of scenarios give batters an extra advantage as they hardly care of losing wickets and when teams are packed with power hitters it makes the bowler's job more challenging.

My opinion varies from this. No doubt it's unfair for the bowlers but this has given the bowlers the need to innovate in order to stay in the game. All the strategies like back of hand slowers, nuckle balls, carrom balls have become mainstream only after the advent of T20 the shorter the version of game will go more innovation will be brought by the bowlers on the table.
673  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I need help on Option Trading on: September 24, 2022, 06:59:58 PM
Just like traditional trading, futures trading has been a very good innovation in the crypto space, yet I still feel incomplete without trading Bitcoin with Option. I was happy to see the Option trading feature with Binance, which is my only exchange, but they offer a different kind of Option trading from the traditional one I know. Their style of offering is designed to make one lose as your winning is not guaranteed even if the difference between the striking price and the price at expiration is in your favour.

Take, for example, I bought the (Call) option on BTC at 18634.35 on Friday for an expiration of 1 hour. Could you believe that the price of the market was at 18855.87 at the expiry time, but Binance still concluded that I lost the bet? This is not a mistake because such a situation has happened to me more than 5 times with the same exchange.

I don't know how Binance calculates their options trading and I don't care again. Is there any exchange you can suggest to me that gives winning like the traditional Option trading where the slightest point counts?
I think they might be taking up the price of the underlying asset while calculating the gain/loss which means you might be using BTC futures to calculate the win and they might be using btc spot instead. Also it depends on the premium you paid for this option? The gain loss might have been calculated considering the premium paid for the option when you would have bought it.
674  Other / Politics & Society / Re: It's time to expel Russia from the UN on: September 23, 2022, 11:16:56 PM
I am no fan of Russia but if countries are removed from UN based merely upon the liking or non liking of a certain set of NATO countries or more prominently the US, then there is no point of UN at all. UN means a forum where everyone can bring their own opinions internationally doesn't means US is always right in his opinion. If US can start Wars in Arabic Countries in the name of their internal safety then how is Russia wrong in doing the same? It's just that they are being too obvious and straightforward about it which obviously other democracies can't be. I just know one thing. War is going on in a lot of countries and every martyr for your country might be terrorist or separatist for the other one.
675  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How can all (or most) cryptocurrencies rise and fall at the same time? on: September 23, 2022, 09:09:08 PM
The price and, ultimately, the charts on any given exchange are determined by the price of the most recent transaction. How can the prices of 100s of cryptos all move in the same direction at the same time?
It's because Crypto prices follow a very foolish phenomenon where people or maybe the big traders see BTC as the barometer of the market which means if BTC is bullish rest everything will be bullish and you'll be in a bull run but if BTC is bearish everything will become bearish and you'll be in a bear run. I somehow feel it's because of the great BTC dominance as it still has 40% of the market cap of the total market but it still pretty foolish of all of us to know this and still believe in this.

677  Economy / Economics / Re: ‘Polluters must pay’: UN chief calls for windfall tax on fossil fuel companies on: September 22, 2022, 08:04:07 PM
In my country the oil companies don't even pay for their credit card facilitation charges that also is recovered by from the customer in form of surcharge you expect they will be bearing these taxes? All of them will eventually reflect in the price of the oil at retail level and oil being such an essential item all this would increase the overall inflation as it will be increasing the cost of transportation directly.

On your other question things are changing but only in developed countries and that too at a very gradual pace so I doubt you will see any large scale change anytime soon.
678  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What amount of fiat and/bitcoin would you consider safe holding in a bear market on: September 22, 2022, 06:32:37 PM
A bear market could be said to be when the share price of a commodity continue to decline over a period of time. Unstable prices and a gradual decline in prices gets a large portion of bitcoin holders scared enough to sell off a large chunk of their assets.
In these so called “trying times”, selling off assets are encouraged and people are inclined to sell because of the unstable and/or decline in prices.

I’m curious on your thoughts and opinions on how much bitcoin and/or fiat currency would be considered safe to hold in a bear market like the one we’re currently in.(eg:70% fiat and 30% bitcoin).
Understandably, people would have different thoughts and opinions on how much is safe to hold cause income level varies among individuals.
I think it's the inverse, in the bear market especially the ones like the current scenario where we are at rock bottom, most of your holdings should be in BTC only so that you can enjoy anytime the market reveres from here. Just a small portion say 25% should be in fiat which will be used to Dollar Cost average your positions in the next leg down. This way you will ensure that you are able to be in a better position whenever the market falls next and are also ready for any reversal. Selling of should never be a considerable option in these scenarios, one should always try to keep calm and don't sell unless you are in dire need of money.
679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: September 18, 2022, 08:51:52 PM
Current Asia Cup victory will give Srilanka lots of confidence for the World Cup. Pakistan is also in good form and is also capable of winning the worldcup. Australia right now is not in good form and they are also not good performer in T20. It will be fun to watch.

Pakistan team is not in form their batsmen are struggling which was seen in Asia Cup. Even Pakistan players have struggled a lot in fielding. Sri Lanka is currently the most in-form team among the Asian teams, Sri Lankan players are in great form in every department which has boosted their confidence level even more. I am very hopeful that Sri Lanka will perform well in their matches in the World Cup.
I am also agree with it and after announcing Pakistan's squad for the T20 World Cup, I have questions about their middle order. I am surprised that no changes have been made here. Recently most of the middle order batsmen did not perform well in the Asia Cup and it was noticeable that the team depended more on Babar Azam for runs.  Now the only thing to be seen is whether this squad will be able to compete with the big teams like Australia and England in the T20 World Cup.

Former Pakistani players have also criticized this squad. Pakistan's pace bowling side is definitely strong, Shaheen Afridi is fit after injury, which is good news for Pakistan. And pace bowlers will get good advantage in Australian conditions. But the biggest weakness of this Pakistani team is batting. Let's see how they can finish this World Cup mission. But it is understood that this World Cup mission will not be easy for Pakistan.
Yes exactly I am also agreeing with that those fast bowlers can brings more benefits for Australian cricket pitch because for the weather conditions most the pitch are little bit dryer And this is where the fast bowlers will get the benefit as the Pakistan team is used to playing in both weather conditions so I don't think they need to worry too much about the bowling site.  But I think they need to rethink their batting line order.
I think almost all the teams in the world cup are having some good pacers in the squad therefore what would matter more is how well you play those pacers. If you see Pakistan's squad except the top 3 no one really has good Exposure to play outside Asia. This can be a trouble for them.
This is also why I am surprised to see All 4, Ashwin, Chahal, Deepak Hooda and Axar Patel in the Indian squad, both of them are spin all rounders a better replacement would have been maybe Shardul Thakur who is a pacer and did well in Australia in the previous tour.
680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin anti-inflation? on: September 18, 2022, 03:36:28 PM
According to many analyzes, inflation is caused by the printing of money by the Central Bank. Excessive printing of money will create an imbalance in supply and demand, which will have a negative impact on the balance sheet.
As a person who really loves BTC, I want to ask, is Bitcoin anti-Inflation?
Yes it's anti inflation or what it is technically termed as deflationary. It works on the concept where the value of the currency becomes stronger over time as it is based on the concept of limited supply but unlimited demand. Ironically we have never had such a currency model for any country before. A set of economists say that deflationary currency isn't practically feasible due to the technical problem called deflationary spiral. As the value of currency will increase over time people will tend to spend less today and save for tomorrow which will reduce the aggregate demand in the economy further increasing deflation and slowing economic growth. This circle is not considered good for economy.
