Is there a deadline established for donations yet? I need to free up some coin.

I think there is no deadline determined till now. But maybe he will just close it if he thinks he has enough funds for the development

Meridian Weekly Update #6

The Meridian team is committed to slowly and gradually building infrastructure around the Meridian project — to ensure that we enjoy a lengthy stay in this market.

First on the agenda is Accessibility.

This is perhaps the most level of the Meridian infrastructure — as it as via this point that users will be brought into our ecosystem.

So we are placing immense effort and resources toward this area.

Second is Functionality.

Simply, once users have been brought into the ecosystem — what comes next?

This is where the Meridian Loans Platform comes into play, and will be our single largest driver of value.

The argument can be put forward that there is only one reason to purchase a Meridian token — i.e to secure a Bitcoin loan.

Thus, in absence of the ability to do this — the door is left wide open for the value of the Meridian system to be brought into question.

Accessibility and Functionality are both core levels that will form the basis of the infrastructure that we are building around the Meridian Project.

As the road to exchange placement draws nearer to its end, we want to take this opportunity to bring you guys in on some key updates.

Meridian Loans Platform (MLP)

The centrepiece of the Meridian ecosystem is our Bitcoin Loans Platform.

For those of you who are new to the project, Meridian is a digital asset that is designed to be used in combination with Bitcoin.

Via our MLP Platform — Meridian tokens can be used as collateral to secure bitcoin loans of higher value than the cumulative value of the MDN tokens initially pledged as collateral.

In addition to this, repayment rewards will also be served to users via the platform — as incentive to build repayment history.

Demo: https://goo.gl/zgd8F6

Accessibility

With the above being said, we must note that the Meridian Loans Platform is the most important piece of the puzzle and, as such, the Meridian team is fully engaged in building adequate infrastructure to support its eventual roll out.

Distribution is a core component and will form the ‘access level’ of the infrastructure that surrounds Meridian.

In short, providing adequate distribution channels (Exchanges etc.) will aide us in establishing an environment in which access to MDN Tokens becomes simplified.

This will reduce the steps that users need to take in order to secure a loan via our platform.

So we look forward to achieving exchange placement before the end of the month.

When will exhanges be available? Which exchanges? Can you give more information about it?

I think they release an update with exchanges as soon as possible. Its getting harder right now to get listed on the bigger ones
663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: January 23, 2018, 07:33:21 PM
I wonder what they will rate nem as. This report may drive the market for the short term.

It's not fully open source and the exchange and volume situation is weedy compared to all the other top coins. I think these will count pretty heavily against it.

However compared to a lot of the other shit in the top 20 it has other strengths.

I don't think it will have much of an impact on the total price. Especially longterm. But I would be glad to see a good rating too, that´s what NEM deserves

8k odyn is not enough to get reward from pos,how much more to buy?

2k more and you are good to go for the upcoming Masternodes

When it will happen?

Im also curious..

Seems like no one is here

I think it will get implemented with the change in the codebase (see updates above). No exact date provided to this point, but you will definetly need 10.000 ODN to run one. Maybe someone knows more
665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] BITDEGREE - Revolutionizing education with blockchain on: January 23, 2018, 07:45:37 AM
I had a peek at the project's GitHub, and it appears to be pretty empty.

Any thoughts on this?

Not trying to FUD. I'm interested in buying a stake and am trying to get to know the project.

Thanks!

Maybe they are handling it closed, till the date everything is released

I love this status of ethereum network, made transaction with 3 gwei gas price, it got confirmed in less than a half minute and paid 7 cents only as transaction cost!  Smiley

really good to have times like this too. The network was so clogged, near to not usable.

PLEASE tell me the application for cryptopia has been submitted for the freaking love of god

You are very very welcome to donate the 5 Million DOT they want for application. Otherwise I fear there will be no Cryptopia in the next time as this is a community coin with no premine or ICO. So there is no money yet to be used for something like this.

Cryptopia, imo is not needed for ALQO.  The coin will continue to grow and utilize exchanges such as CryptoBridge (I love that exchange) and perhaps Cobinhood.

If the team keeps up with development and continues forward (I think that they will) then they can move to larger exchanges at a later time.

At the time of this post, there is almost 70 btc of volume for ALQO on CryptoBridge. Creating an account there is easy.

I agree here. The growth is more than healthy and also is doing great. no need to rush anything

I like CryptoBridge, but it doesn't inspire much confidence. It's small. A similar situation may occur as with CoinsMarkets.

CB is a dex

DEX like CB are surely the future. No doubt about that. The only "problem" is the sometimes low liquidity. But that will change
668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: January 22, 2018, 07:48:30 AM
I have got information for ETC Hardfork
each ETC owner will receive CLO coins automatically in a 1:1 ratio to the amount of ETC that he had at block 5500000. (approximately 5 March, 2018 )
You must makes account on the forum of ethereum classic ETC if you want know more about it.
https://forum.ethereumclassic.org/t/j
So,everbody holding ETC will get CLO?Or do i have to download the wallet and keep the private key to get CLO?
Well you just need holding the ethereum classic ETC on the official of wallet ETC, it will be automatically getting in 1:1. If you have 20 ETC will get 20 CLO, but still there are no news for the ETC on the exchangers about which are the exchangers support for the hard fork. I will makes the updating about that due to the ETC's hard fork is still long time around 5 match,2018. So always follow news about the ethereum classic ETC. More detail please check it https://forum.ethereumclassic.org/t/the-callisto-network-information-please-create-new-topic-in-order-to-better-assist/533 Good luck

I wouldn't be surprised if Bittrex etc will allow and distribute CLO
669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] Stone - DAG Data-Structured Private Cryptocurrency on: January 22, 2018, 07:46:05 AM

Distribution

As expressed by a few supporters we have come to the result that we would like to see a substantial plan ahead, which will persist as follows;

30% donators (ending shortly - exact date yet to be announced)
32.5% Airdrop to BTC holders
22.5% Airdrop to existing XRB holders.
10% Givaway (Thread Posters/Twitter Enhancers)
5% Development fund

I hope this distribution is not set is stone (sorry for bad pun Grin).

Why grant paid spammers twice as much as allocated to development?  Do you really want to emphasize Astroturf marketing over development and wind up like Dash?

According to Cardano's Ouroboros research, an honest initial distribution pattern is critical to maintaining the integrity of a Proof-of-Stake system going forward.

Your schema could be tweaked to allow a much longer, fatter tail by expanding the airdrop to LTC and DCR.  That would bring in vastly more participants than BTC and XRB alone, which enhances the probability of achieving an honest staking voter base which cannot be compromised by a handful of BTC and XRB whales.

I think for this kind of distribution it would be fair to have it capped or something. Like maximal redeemable amount is at 100 XRB or 1 BTC or something like that. It doesn't make any sense in linking to BTC balance since the ICO projects will claim their stake and just dump it because they don't care.

Hi Felix, I'm really interested in the project. I also would like to donate, but as a long time member here on bitcointalk I'm always a bit sceptical with donations. I first invested into RaiBlocks in January and have been between the first people to talk about them on twitter since I have seen the potential in that project.

Please let me help with testing and I will do what I can to make this project a success.

Feeling the same. The donations would sure reach new heights if some code or MVP would be released before the donation period ends

Do we know how many coins were caught on the exchange and wiped out this week? I'm thinking it was probably a significant amount, especially since the ALQO team admitted they lost tons of coins.

We haven't heard a single word from the ALQO team since. Looks like everyone holding cold storage accounts suddenly became significantly wealthier. Cheesy

you mean the coins market exchange? They should be up soon again

Code:
About the down time ,

Time : 2018-01-19

First let us explain what is coinsmarkets , we are based on 2 investor , 1 admin , 1 coder , 2 senior support and 4 general support .
In November last year 1 of senior support left the team , It is hard enough to hire a new one , this work is based on a lot of trust , so we still waiting for correct condidat .

Now let's move to the issue , in December we experienced a lot of new users and huge volume , we were ready for double or even triple volume but in our case it was 10x +.
From here all kind of problem start with servers ,
Now add to that the last senior support remaining have some family issue and was forced to be off  most of the time .
In addition to all that there was some db corruption issue we faced due to the overload and later hosting issue.

So a lot of work to do with a lot of missing stuff.

Please understand that in exchange you can't just go and hire someone and trust him millions of dollars .

We are sorry for lack of comunication about issue we have thought that people already trust us enough , and we invested 100% of time in restoring the site .

Now issue with hosting , hosting complained about a lot of fraud report from users about our service . We find this really hard to explain , it is clear that not even a single coin has moved from our wallets , and once again we are here to stay ,
We have not even released 10% of our road map , there is a lot of new future to be added in the nearest future.

A week ago we started negoation with new host that can accept similar service , we initiated the move ,
The Database was fixed yesterday night .

Now remain to setup new servers , few fix here and there and service will be restored ,

We write our news only in coinsmarkets news section , any twitter , chat msg etc is a scam ,
Again Official Coinsmarkets message are written only in coinsmarkets news section .

so maybe those coins will soon come back into circulation
679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] BITDEGREE - Revolutionizing education with blockchain on: January 19, 2018, 07:04:48 AM
I got a quick question, seeing as nexchange works similar to shapeshift where exactly are they going to pull pricing information from if we are not yet on any centralized exchange and where will the coins sold on nex come from if not from another exchange which does not yet exist?

Good question what will determine the price. Maybe they might use estimates from CMC
680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: January 19, 2018, 06:55:27 AM
Has anybody informations about Ledger Nano S support like Trezor? I only found old topics on google.

I'm holding NEM for a nearly one year and I would love to put them on my Ledger Nano S.

There hasn't been a squeak about it. If there was we'd hear about it. I bought a Trezor solely for XEM.

nothing in the pipeline I think. I would not bet on it, so for now Trezor is the way to go
