661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin is different from other means of investment on: October 21, 2023, 07:42:59 PM
The government cannot capture your land if you have it in your name with all the valid legal documentation available because you can always file a complaint if something like that happens.
The government can still reclaim your land even if you have all the legal documents, if they really want to reclaim the land for their own purposes, you won't be able to do anything to them. But that happens very rarely and those are just rare cases. In general, any investment will have risks, including real estate or gold, and bitcoin is no exception. Maybe our bitcoins won't be unjustly robbed or confiscated by the government but we also face many different dangers. Bitcoin is also not completely safer than real estate or gold.
If you are from a third-world country that is full of corruption and there are land mafias that capture lands illegally without any notice or anything and even if you have the land in your name, you probably wouldn't have a say because the mafias would probably have more power than you and since there is corruption, the law won't help you with anything as the opposite party gives the law creators their share from what they get from their *good* deeds.

However, if you are living in a country that is developed, has law & order in place, and has no corruption at the government level, then if they need the land that you legally own for any purpose, they will take it from you in a legal way by paying you what the worth of the land at that moment of time is or what you demand for your land.
662  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which old coin do you prefer? Litecoin or Dogecoin? on: October 21, 2023, 06:40:03 PM
Among the good-old coins listed on the market today, which one do you prefer the most? Litecoin or Dogecoin? The former is often used for serious cross-border payments at a fraction of the cost, while the latter is used more for micropayments/tipping. Despite these differences, it's no secret that DOGE is faster and cheaper to use than LTC itself (Dogecoin's block time is lower than Litecoin's, while market prices are cheaper). I'd choose both as they're tried-and-tested blockchain networks with decentralization and security/reliability in mind.

What would be your pick? And why did you choose that coin in the first place?
I don't use altcoins for cross-border payments or tipping or anything, and I just use altcoins for trading which is the reason why I prefer Litecoin over Dogecoin because I believe Dogecoin doesn't have any organic growth, and by organic growth, I mean that it doesn't grow on its own unless it is hyped by an individual like Elon Musk or by its community, and a normal cryptocurrency wouldn't be like that. Altcoins should be able to go up and down sometimes organically.

So, this is the basic reason why I prefer Litecoin over Dogecoin. Otherwise, I know that Dogecoin has a lower block time and transaction fee and its blockchain isn't that bad, but at the end of the day, it's a meme coin and we all know that meme coins mainly depend on community hype for them to gain value.
663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: October 21, 2023, 05:53:18 PM
I've never seen an England team fall like they did today. The England team could not withstand the bowling pressure of South Africa. Because England is another strong team in the cricket world which always performs very well. But England team has performed so badly today that it is only 84 runs for 7 wickets which is definitely surprising. Because a very strong batting line would lose like this to the bowling of South Africa I never imagined. So thousands of gamblers like me have faced losses in betting today. But the batting klaasen of the South African team has performed very well in the batting line, that's why the South African team has scored more runs.
Cricket changes drastically in last few years and after winning last world cup mostly fans were feeling England is adopting this all but now in this world cup we have England which we have in few years back with no quality and average bowling in last two matches things are brought them on bottom which mean they have to regroup themselves if they want to have better results against top teams in big events.

Today South Africa were at the top from the start and Klaasan and Jansen innings give them booster which help them for having target like this which was really massive, and England batting line-up were not ready for this even this pitch was graveyard for the bowlers but early loses give them massive pressure, and now they are out of the top four race with their confidence level is also at the lowest level.
664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often is your luck in gambling? on: October 21, 2023, 10:52:10 AM
I'm usually not lucky in winning in gambling and that's why I have limited my engagement on gambling to the barest minimum. I know some group of people who are always making cool money from gambling but after making several attempts to win my gambles, I always find out that I'm not as lucky as others so I decided not to get involved in gambling again like others. But that doesn't mean that I've totally stopped gambling as I can only gamble on sports betting whenever I can do it without my basic income.
I think all of us are the same when it comes to gambling. We can experience to lose more often than winning. It's just that we are not going to experience the same result together, so don't be mad if you saw others are winning while you are losing because I bet that by the time you are winning, they are now the ones who are losing and jealous about they see from other lucky players.

So, don't lose hope but learn how to feel your luck or bad luck so that you will know if you will continue or stop for a while. You said something about basic income. Are you referring to your daily pay rate in your job? But just don't make gambling as a substitute to it because it's unreliable.
665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XRP and Roblox and Bitpay on: October 21, 2023, 08:29:59 AM
I wouldn't be surprised if some groups ramps up the call for better crypto regulation and that would encompass these fake news disguised as errors. There are no real negative repercussions for releasing false and misleading articles at the moment so the likes of Bitpay can do it and still get away.
This is the recommendation I hear from some users last time. Regulation or an increase of it. They think it will curb these issues down. I think it's funny if they call it an error. That was too unusual.

But, it can be more like of a manipulation. It's not expected though from someone who is established already in the crypto field. Really? They are risking their reputation only for some quick gains? Theses guys should be a good example so that we can encourage more crypto users but it looks like they are a big threat now. I think there is a repercussion already for the fake news because it's already an issue in the past on many social media sites.
666  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is a 20% Annual Return good ? on: October 20, 2023, 08:46:21 PM
**Performance in 31 Days:** Forward test
I've completed twelve trades,. Over these 31 days, I've achieved a return of 1.91%, which translates to a daily return of 0.06%. Projected over a year, that would be 22.52%, but this can vary based on market behavior. It's important to note that this is in the spot market. Can it be done in futures? Yes, and with leverage (2x or 3x), you can easily reach 60% to 70% returns due to compound interest. However, I prefer the spot market as I see it more as a long-term investment.

Here's the link to the spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1nfNuJB5ZkewvZ8A9ACPJik0p3Vq1g-TO/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=105063930982027234018&rtpof=true&sd=true where you can see all the trades I've made, a screenshot of how the strategy operates on TradingView, and a sheet of risk. I'll provide another update at 60 days and continue until I reach 180 days, which will conclude my testing, and then I'll consider adding more capital. Feel free to ask anything...
I see that percentage being extremely low for a whole month. I know that 20% a year doesn't sound really bad but it is only if you are not doing anything and just getting that percentage for keeping your funds idle somewhere, but if you are making manual trades and still getting such a low percentage, maybe you should up your game a little bit. I'm not asking you to take bigger risks, but you should gain more knowledge and try to take out more profit from every single trade instead of settling down on just 0.06% per day.

You should at least be able to get 1% profit from each trade of you are that much careful, people get even more and they don't even that such high risks. You should try and learn a bit more about how you should open and close your trades in the spot market and I'm pretty sure that you can get more than that.
667  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An agent is no where to be found. on: October 20, 2023, 08:12:40 PM
However, I am here to say these are the reasons why it is not always good to gamble in a betting agent's shop, because if the manager of the shop does not run with the money a gambler wins, then one of the workers in the betting shop might run away with the money someone wins,
If the betting shop has a manager and employees and an employee runs away with the money, the manager should be responsible for paying the money to the bettor since it's one of his employees who stole the money and it's not the fault of the bettor. But if the shop only has one agent and that agent runs away with the money, that becomes a problem because there will be no one left behind that can be asked for the money.

so I do conclude that an online gambling site with good reputation is the best for gambler, so what do you guys have to say about this?.
An online platform is definitely better than a betting agent, especially if the betting agent isn't trusted and even if it's trusted, you can't really make very large bets with them because money can change anyone, so even a trusted person can deceive you and run away with the money if it's a significant amount.
668  Economy / Economics / Re: Marriage mean double your passive income, rental property mean double your passi on: October 19, 2023, 07:23:04 PM
It depends on the person you are marrying to. I worked in a place before where there was a couple and they got married there, they benefited from all the things that they could, and then they got pregnant as well, and she worked until 7th month or so if I am not wrong, and had 6 months break, 2 months of pregnancy and 5 months while taking care of the baby and recovering.

I think that was a good deal, she didn't even come to work and still got paid, and then she quit, which made her get severance package that was a good amount and find a job somewhere else right away. Sure they had a babysitter that took care of the baby, or a nurse, I do not know what they are called when you take  care of a baby, but they had one like that, but they still had two incomes and a great package for leaving the work while not even working for the last 6 months. I would say that if you could end up with a marriage like that, the income situation should not be all that bad and could be helpful.
I think it also depends on where you are from. In certain countries, a working lady or even a man might get paid leave when they are about to become parents, for the mother since she will be in labor and the father so that he can take care of the mother and the child. However, that's not the case everywhere, because sometimes you might need to simply leave your job in such a situation if you are a working lady and there are no incentives given by the company.

A lot of females also stop working after they get married, maybe because their husbands ask them to do so since they know they can take care of everything and they should just stay at home, take care of the children and the household chores while they work and earn and they live a happy married life.
669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Centralization vs. Decentralization on: October 19, 2023, 06:41:04 PM
Centralization:

Pros: Potential for faster transaction throughput, a focal point of control and regulation, easier to implement changes and updates.
Cons: Risk of a single point of failure, susceptibility to censorship, a tendency towards monopolization.

Decentralization:

Pros: Censorship resistance, enhanced security through distribution, inheriting the initial spirit of Bitcoin and the idea of autonomy.
Cons: Potentially reduced scalability, decision-making difficulties, possibility of fragmentation and disparities.
It's clear both come with their merits and demerits. But, do we need to acknowledge that both can coexist? Are there situations where centralization could be beneficial? Can there be a balance?
Can they coexist? They are already coexisting whether some of us want it or not. Take exchange platforms as an example, the most popular cryptocurrency exchanges in the world, like Binance, are centralized exchanges, and people prefer them over most decentralized exchanges the most probable reason for that is that they provide more features and tools for the users when compared to decentralized platform, and people also think they are more secure.

The increasing regulations all over the industry are basically forcing a lot of decentralized platforms to either convert to centralization or simply close shop because you can't be a decentralized platform and comply with the rules and regulations of the authorities such as KYC and AML and stuff. The only decentralization that will always stay is Bitcoin's.
670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Lady Cried After Losing to Sports Bet. Gambling is Not Your Mate. on: October 19, 2023, 07:08:03 AM
Well, sadness and regret is a human emotion and people handle situations differently. We should not judge people for showing their emotions, because we are all human.

It does not matter if she knew that she would lose her money or not.... she did and she decided to show her emotions. A lot of people are so desensitized to people around them and immediately perceive actions like this in a negative way.

Let's give people the opportunity to learn valuable lessons in life and allow them to cry if they learnt those lessons.  Wink
There is definitely nothing wrong with crying after regretting a decision or out of grief about what has happened, but why record yourself crying and put it for the public to see? That's the point I'm unable to understand, and it indicates that the person is probably trying to get sympathy from people for what she has lost when it's completely her own fault since she is an adult and she probably knew that one can lose everything in gambling as it involves a lot of risks.

People need to understand one simple thing; gambling isn't a way for them to double or triple their money, it's not a guaranteed way to achieve wealth but it's just a way to either have some fun or just try your luck, don't just keep spending your money with the hope that you might win something big in the next bet, that bet doesn't come.
671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble till old age or not on: October 19, 2023, 06:24:03 AM
I can’t really predict the future but all I can say is that if I still have passion for my favorite games when I get old and I still can access my internet to make my betting online without any issue or if I can work down the betting shop without feeling any pains due to stress or bond weaken base old age, then I think I can still place a bet.

The only thing is that I will have to change my pattern of betting, that’s if bet regularly before now that I’m old I will have to make few selections and not all games that I will have to gamble on, I can even change from the regular gambling to pool betting which is what most advance men in my local do now are days.
That's probably the thing for most people. If someone gambles for fun, they should have no problems continuing their gambling even at an older age as long as they get to access a casino platform without facing any difficulties and if they have enough money to spend on their gambling activities at that age if someone has all those facilities, they would probably love to continue their gambling activities since they have always enjoyed the thrill of gambling.

So, in my opinion, it all boils down to ease of access and affordability for someone who gets old for them to continue gambling or leave it. If they have been an addict and gambling has caused issues for them in their life, they would most probably not continue it for long if they can leave the addiction.
672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Digital Real Estate: Is it worth it? on: October 18, 2023, 07:44:42 PM
Digital assets are an amazing investment as long as you can get in on the family/early round and manage to sell as soon as public sale opens, ideally BEFORE the sale opens. For a medium or long term hold there is almost 0 value.
The only way you might play this out successfully is mayb buying at the lows of bear market and then the market explodes but thats nearly impossible.
The first one that you said seems unethical or kinda inappropriate. I think that's not how a true investor looks like but it was for those who are leechers. They are poisoning the project. But wait, I realize that I wouldn't mind doing that to a shit coin, meme coin, pump and dump coin, and scam coins because they can also cause a lot of damage to the investors and to the crypto world as a whole.

Bitcoin is also considered as a digital asset and it's mechanism is about long-term hodling, to be able for the investor to reap a lot of befits. Buying at the lows and selling at the highs is how you play the game of investing or trading. The market can explode for those coins who have the potential.
673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don’t push playing more on: October 18, 2023, 07:19:05 PM
You are lucky that you can still remember your weaknesses in the past so that you can stop gambling and take a break. Yes, that is the best thing you can do to stop a study that is not giving you good results. And I agree that if we have been gambling for a while, we must immediately stop gambling so we don't think about trying to win. When you play for too long, you might think about recovering previous losses and still want to win even though you already had a previous win, even though it wasn't much.

By resting, you can calm yourself from gambling which might occupy your attention. And it is true that when playing gambling, we don't need to force ourselves to keep playing, especially if we feel bored or fed up. It can trigger us to place bigger bets than before. And by resting, you can do other things that might be useful for you.
We all can remember it. The only way we can forget it is if we have an amnesia but I think this is a rare condition. The only problem is many of us are hard-headed and can't seem to learn from our past mistakes. Gambling for a while can also mean for a short period of time, so why stop immediately? But if you mean if we are already gambling for a long time and it was mostly the disadvantage is the one that we experience, then yeah. We should stop now even if it's already a little late.
674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Drake's Curse. on: October 18, 2023, 05:21:44 PM
Now, the big question is this.... Is Drake being funded by Stake.com to make these huge bets, because he is an affiliate and a brand ambassador for Stake.com.  Huh
Naturally people who place such big bets on their personal accounts never put such bets out for the world to see, but with Drake it's different and being the brand ambassador  this puts stake name on the gambling map and also shows the world they are able to handle big bets without a problem which is also  Drake doing his job as a marketing and sales personnel !
They do it for their safety which includes the following: they are afraid to get robbed, protects them from beggars, and lastly protects their reputation. Drake took a big risk there because his career might have been affected. He is one of the artist that until now known. That alone can earn him sufficient amounts already. Oh well, maybe greed is what leads him of accepting the offer.

@OP don't worry about him because he himself wouldn't care about it. We can just see it as a normal happening in the gambling world. There are people who are really suck at predicting things, and I don't think they are dumb enough to continue if their losses are already huge, but unless maybe if addiction already hits them.
675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which old coin do you prefer? Litecoin or Dogecoin? on: October 18, 2023, 03:51:51 PM
My first preference will be doge coin. Having a great utility is one of the most important thing of any coin or project. Even though litecoin is more aggressive in that part from doge coin, later one is having huge community and kind a backed up by Elon Musk along with nonpayment utility. It also offers less gas fee for its transactions which is also one of the important factor.
From investment perspective, doge coin is way better than litecoin if we look at the growth patterns.
I think both DOGE and Litecoin has the same utility and that is they are being used for payment purposes because they are fast and their fees are only cheap. When it comes to growth patterns, maybe DOGE pumped a lot but that only happened rarely and we aren't even sure if history will repeat again for it while Litecoin is only slow but steady.

For me I wouldn't mind going for both of them when it comes to payment purposes or when I play gambling because I can sometimes win using the free DOGE and Litecoin that I get. And then some crypto wallets that I use can only support either one of them. But in terms of investment, I will definitely go with Litecoin.
676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If we lose in gambling, what do we need to do? on: October 17, 2023, 07:19:30 PM
It's also a place to earn money as well as long as you will able to win the game. That's it. Losing money is also a part of process in winning the game. If there would be lose and there is also winning as well.

Other gambling gamblers have no other source of income, but somehow they win. And if there is no win, there is no profit. The only problem is that even though we know that the number of losers is greater, we still continue to gamble. Why is it?

Because there are still gamblers who hope that one day they will get lucky and get the jackpot. But there are still only a few who win, because there are still other gamblers who have a tendency to stop playing or betting when they win.
But, I'm wondering if when can they get money to gamble if they don't have any sources of income? Oh well, maybe they beg from someone else. They are lucky if they can win out of it but it was still risky and not a good thing to do. They need to get a job which earns them a stable income to provide their needs and their family if they have already.

Gambling isn't only about hoping to win but it can also provide you an entertainment. This is why many gamblers still continue even though they mostly lose. Nothing is wrong in hoping and getting that jackpot. As long as the casino where we play is legit and as long as we keep on trying, there is always a chance to snatch that jackpot one day.
677  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Possible measures to stop online gambling addiction. on: October 17, 2023, 04:52:30 PM
Even if you are open with this activities but can't stop to gamble then maybe its useless because you are not cooperating that's why you really need to submit yourself to them and follow the recommendation given since you will not get a aid with this addiction if you are still participating on any gambling activities. That's why the only solution here if we already experience the worst is to erase all possible access that can make us remember to gamble and have a vacation on provinces where you don't have a internet access since for sure with this we can escape this addiction and can settle up with new life we already having on. Although its really hard for affected person to adjust but once they are willing to find a solution to help theirselves everything is possible.
Exactly, there's nothing to resolve if you are still attached and even you are recognizing the problem but if you are not submitting yourself and you are not listening and doing what is needed to fix it, then the aid is useless, you need to work with your own self-will admitting is a good beginning but trying to fix it with willingness to submit even how difficult things are, there's always a potential solution if you are open-minded and you are willing to take the hard route just to make sure that you will succeed from your intention to solve the issue that you currently trying to resolve.
When a gambler realizes that they are addicted to gambling and they are actually facing problems in their life because of it and they want to get out of it, the very first step for them is obviously to admit it and acknowledge the fact that they are having issues and now they want to leave gambling, and after that, they can look for assistance from either a professional therapist or something or maybe friends or families that might be able to get them away from gambling.

Someone who might have realized that they are stuck in something that is causing problems in their personal life but are afraid to admit it maybe because they think people who might not know about it will start seeing them as a bad example or someone who is an addict and who wastes all their money on gambling.
678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I can’t cope on my own. What do you think I should do? on: October 17, 2023, 03:58:46 PM
you cant just outrightly trust them. from what i know , these free channels are the best of what they can offer because its targeted towards luring people to join their VIP so they want them to think that the VIP is same and even more better than that. but the truth is that they are not winning most times like they do present it. its always better to be source of your picks. you only need to research more and sharpen your skills.
Don’t pay any money to their VIP channels which guide you in the gambling.Actually it’s wrong to use the signals in the trading, because the self analysis in the trading will help you to get good win.So the same was applicable to the gambling. The gambling based on the luck,So how the VIP channel guidelines help you get the luck in the game.So you should use your own game in the gambling. The guidelines from the VIP channels is just to get some money from you.
Many of the VIP gambling channels are no better than the gambler who's hanging his hope on them for a greater chance of getting winnings games through them. These channels are just doing packaging business and not that they're sure of the predictions they offer, it's still same analysis a gambler could spend his own time critically analyzing about a particular sport he wishes to bet on, that's the same analysis these VIP channels undertake too to arrive in their predictions they sell out. Just that it's as if a few piles of gamblers have turned lazy in doing this paperwork themselves and have decided to push it to these channels in exchange for payment of service.
Then why there are people who depend on them? But these people are sometimes blind enough to see their flaws and they will only realized it at the end. There are still gambling channels out there who can genuinely perform better than a newbie gambler.

I guess it sometimes need luck to be with them because newbies don't know how to make a research and know if what is right and wrong. Apart from being a newbie, being lazy (like you said) is also what pushed for the people to avail such service. Well, I guess many of them already expect the negative outcomes. We can't do much about these people if what they want is to burn more money than gaining it.
679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I invest in new projects. on: October 17, 2023, 06:51:23 AM
We can say that meme coin are a good choice but it has so much risks involved as particularly, and the project you had mentioned above we didn't hear. I think this is newly created project, here you will get different ideas from members.
That project may be his own if you check well. There are those who pretend alot in the name of asking for advice but do not need it. He sent links to the project instead of telling us the name and allow us do the research by ourselves. Am advising that those who want to invest should carry out research on it but if Op is truthfully seeking advice and he is not a team member of that project I will suggest he does research also.
You got what a lot of users here weren't getting.  Roll Eyes OP is actually not here to ask for advice from the community about whether he should invest in that project or not, but his mission is to promote the project to the community in a way that shouldn't actually sound like it's an advertisement or a direct promotion. He is either a part of the project team or has been hired and paid a few bucks to spread the word around the industry by visiting public forums where everyone is allowed to make posts and interact just like Bitcointalk which promotes freedom of speech.

If he was actually here to ask for advice, he wouldn't need to post a link to the project or provide all the information that he did at the end, and that is exactly what gives it all away. People think that they are smart and can do this without getting noticed, and ironically, they do, to some extent, but there are people who understand what they are trying to do.
680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever heard about financing a gambler? on: October 16, 2023, 07:49:52 PM
The fact that gambling is involved, I don’t think he can be trusted when it comes to money matters. Although it’s okay if he will really use the money for good purposes, but when it comes to gambling using borrowed money, then never expect that he will still be able to repay you or even pay a portion of it.
And what's the point of giving money to someone else just to get a portion of the profits when you can gamble yourself using that money and keep all the profit that you might get? It's like expecting the guy to have a guarantee that he will win something when there is no such guarantee in gambling.

However, I have never experienced financing a gambler ever since. And if it’s going to happen in the future, for sure I will never ride with it. I am a regular gambler so I know eventually the winning rate vs the losing rate. And most of the time, gamblers often lose so while the house is always the winner.
Exactly, expecting that someone borrowing money from you to gamble and pay you a portion of the winnings will surely win is foolish. Even if the guy says that they are an expert in sports betting which generally requires knowledge and experience more than luck, you should still not give them any money because they would obviously not care about the money that much since they don't need to return it and if they lose it, it's just gone.
