661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Holders Hesitant to Sell Despite Price Surge on: November 24, 2023, 06:43:11 PM

Such an interesting chart. This shows alot of things and among which is that people have started to;
Believe Bitcoin:
Before now, not many people believed in bitcoin as a currency. Rather many people jumped in to be early beneficiaries before the bubble will burst. So, those kind of people sell at any slight panic.
Understand bitcoin:
Before now, only a few people understand the things of bitcoin such as FUD, FOMO and they use these tools to manipulate the common people. But as the technology is advancing, many people are becoming aware of these manipulative tools and no longer fall for them.
662  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin, when to buy on: November 24, 2023, 06:02:38 PM
So my question is when is the best time to buy Bitcoin?
The question of when to buy is best answered based on your investment goal. The time the Mr Bob would want to buy will not be the time that Mrs Alice will want to buy if both has different investment goals.
For instance, bitcoin price is within $37k and anyone who is willing to take profit in the next 2 years can buy bitcoin now and wait till the next 2 years and they will be on profits.
There are people who will buy at 37 because they are targeting 40k, which I think is somewhat risky. While some buy continuously with the DCA method.
So, everyone has their entry points according to their investment goals but the best rule to buy is to buy low and sell high.
663  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: It can be totally avoided on: November 24, 2023, 05:48:05 PM

I don't completely blame these scammers but the official stores allowing any third-party developers to post their scam apps on the stores, knowing that they are responsible for millions of people visiting the stores to try out apps and software.

That is the world we are into. Google allows every project owners to upload their app in the play store in order to make so much money and they care less about the safety of the people downloading these apps. Google play would have been one of the safest place to download applications according to the status of Google.
I understand they want to make as much money as possible and remain in business, but they should not upload clone or similar apps. There should be a mechanism to detect similar apps and not list them of not from the same company.

What then is your suggestion on safe way to download apps?
Download from the website as many has said. When you are eventually redirected from the website to the play store, you don't have to panic only if you are sure you logged into the original website.
664  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: unnecessarily quoting by members of the forum. on: November 24, 2023, 05:31:58 PM
Many beginners do such useless quotes. It looks very messy and not neatly organized. If you want to give a response, it's better to just do one quote. Doing so with all these quotes just makes it even more confusing. I always cut and delete quotes that are not really necessary to keep it neat and the purpose of the quote is achieved.
People that post in gambling section of the forum are used to that type of post. What I do not understand is the reason they make such pyramid quotes even when they aren't replying to every post in the quote.

One thing I have thought would be the reason they quote in such a manner is to make their post appear long and quality even when it is not. Apart from that I see no other reason.

Before I deactivated my telegram, that used to be a problem when I post in the gambling discussion. I would keep getting endless notifications even when the conversation no longer concerns me.
665  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: There's always a price to pay. on: November 24, 2023, 05:08:34 PM

Some successful people pay a higher price because they leave home to go abroad and work there for more than 10 years. They come back successful but have no one in their life but themselves. I know one personally who lived by himself all along in his own house, his girlfriend married someone else and his parents died while he was far from his home. He is now almost 50 and still alone but he does have houses of his own, a car, and have thriving Airbnb business.
This kind of story happens in the olden days, I am surprised it still happened in this recent time. I have thought that the people of recent time care much about family and relatives that they would not agree to leave them. But in the race to success, everything is possible to do. I am glad that in the end he made it to be rich but there are some initial happiness that he sacrificed.

Regarding the discussion in OP, it is not everyone that always pay such prices. There are people whose parents have already paid the price for that they don't suffer any more.
666  Economy / Economics / Re: when the rich say 'ill give 95% of my billion away over my lifetime' explained on: November 21, 2023, 05:10:41 PM
when the rich say 'ill give 95% of my billion away over my lifetime' they do not mean if they have $1b today they will be at $50m at death. what they actually mean is:

they have $1b in a bank account at 6% interest
meaning it earns $60m a year.
they give just $50m yearly interest away for the next 19 years ... (totalling the $950m pledge)
yet keeping the $1b lump plus earning $10m of personal spending per year

also the % interest is usually more than 6% but they only give 5% to meet their humanitarian/altruistic hustle pledge

enjoy that thought next time the rich try to make it sound like they are going to give up their wealth for humanity.. because reality is they are not.

Good to know this, I haven't really thought about this and when I read that rich men give 95% of their wealth, I would think it is their whole net worth value.
But I would still be confused while such rich men don't go bankrupt. Now I know what happens, thanks.
That will also mean they might not be able to pay taxes because of the charity they do with their interest.
667  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the selling pressure in the ATH level can be a problem to reach $100k? on: November 21, 2023, 04:07:21 PM
What you said is the truth. It can be said that no one losses in bitcoin if they are patient. You only lose when you sell at lose. Patience is a great virtue in the bitcoin investment. But then we still need to be considerate. It is only someone who is financially stable that can be able to forget an investment for more than 2 years.
This cannot be said about a person who actually isn't sure where their next meal is coming from and neither is it for someone who invested in Bitcoin to be able to pay house or other rents.
The best way to invest in bitcoin is when you have a steady source of income and being consistent with the DCA method.
If a person is lacking even a single one of the most important factors that make an investor a success then it becomes impossible for them to reach their goals, and without a doubt being patient is one of the most important characteristics for an investor, as you never really know when the asset that you are holding will go up in value, and this is even more critical in markets other than this one, since it could take years or even a full decade before an asset is able to reach its highest price, and you do not want to sell before that happens.
It is only in bitcoin investment that people are becoming impatient and the syndrome of get rich quick has eaten deep into the flesh in this industry. I remember when I was younger, my parents will narrate their experience of buying shares of a company and after 10 to 15yrs, the shares will worth nothing. But this our time, only 2 months investment into bitcoin, we will be yarning for big profit cash out.

Bitcoin long term investment requirements patient. Atleast one bitcoin cycle patient or double cycle will make a big difference and a cycle is just 4yrs. Yet, many people want to invest today and double their investment tomorrow.
668  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin Bear Market over? on: November 21, 2023, 03:56:30 PM
Hi guys I was wondering that Bitcoin crossed 37000 dollars is there any chances that Bitcoin bear market over and we might see good greeny day.
What are your thoughts 🤔💭

We can say that the bear market is over but we cannot say that confidently. There would be some corrections that might look like something so bearish and we should prepare for this. We can also say confidently that we are still in the process of escaping the bear market. What this means is that bitcoin might not see anything below 30k before the bull run.

December is fast approaching and we should know that December is not always a greeny month. It has always been a bear month, so we shouldn't expect anything different this time around.
669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 21, 2023, 03:25:01 PM
Saturday star matches: 1. Manchester City Vs Arsenal 2. Newcastle Vs Chelsea

I do not understand why I always find international breaks boring such that I do not even watch the matches. Whenever there's break, I always pray for the coming weeks to approach in order to witness league weeks. As we are about to witness another exciting EPL week, let's hear your stake about the above matches.

I think that Chelsea will be able to win Newcastle since Chelsea performance is advancing positively especially after the draw with Manchester City. In the other hand, majority of Newcastle players are still injured.

Manchester City might not be able to win Liverpool, yes I said so.

671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your favourite Alt-Coin, and why? on: November 21, 2023, 01:57:22 PM
What's your favourite cryptocurrency besides Bitcoin?

Maybe Monero, with its privacy, scalability and fair mining?
Ethereum, with its innovative smart contracts?
Maybe Litecoin, the old and trusted low-fee coin?
Or Bitcoin Cash, which tries to follow Satoshi's vision?
Or, why not, Dogecoin, the funny coin?

Pick your favourite and reply here why you love it!

Even when people complain about poor quality posts, in as much as they are not off topic posts, they will still receive attention and enough engagement.
Asking about my favourite altcoin is not bad but I do not actually have a favourite altcoin and so do many.
One thing about altcoins is that is 2 to 4yrs time, many of those coins you mentioned in OP will no longer be seen in the industry.
672  Other / Meta / Re: How does total time logged in count? on: November 21, 2023, 01:27:43 PM

<..> The number per se is rather unsubstantial, and is merely informative I’d say.

I will agree that it is unsubstantial and maybe it should be removed to help lighten the load time of the website. No wonder no one else sees the number of logging time except the user himself. It's high time everyone disregard it.

Does this mean that if I have always had two accounts and for any mistake whatsoever like plagiarism. And one of my account is banned, am I not allowed to own any other active accounts??? Let's not forget that it is not illegal or against the rules to own multiple accounts. Are these rules contradicting themselves or are there other hidden criteria to such effects???

I understand that some people are running away from this glaring question. This is not the type of question that a newbie should ask. But since there is a question, there must be an answer and someone correct me if I am wrong.

There are two scenarios
  • If you have two accounts from onset and one of the accounts let's say commits plagerism and got banned. This does not affect the other account of yours which predates the banned account. It means the other account is not ban evading
  • But when an account is banned, any other account from same user that is created after the account ban is considered ban evasion

I didn't see this rule anywhere and I haven't come across it. But that is what my common sense says it should be.
674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is it still risky to Invest into Altcoin now? on: November 21, 2023, 12:32:49 PM
I would like to brief about the current market situation as there has been surge in value of altcoins a much higher surge compared to Bitcoin and many would have utilised this momentum to gain profit but if we look at the other side if you just look for top gainers you will find altcoins with top surge but the next day or after few days if you check the top losers you will find the same top gainers in this list as well. So there is a price increase for altcoin but not a established one like Bitcoin, because we have not seen dump in the value of Bitcoin for over an month now but Altcoins has been pumping and dumping and in my opinion it's not worth to make entery for long term as of now it's good only for quick profit whole being very active. What's your opinion ? Shall we invest or just involve in quick trades ?
There's never been a time that investment in altcoins was without a risk. Altcoins investment is always riskier than Bitcoin investment. But I also understand what you meant in OP. For some certain altcoins being toppers and as well as losers within a short time shows a good level of volatility, and that is not good for long term investment, rather good for short term investment or day trading .
Anyone that wants to involve in altcoins this time around should have good knowledge of the charts and also be ready for good or bad, especially coins like Sol.

676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Toughts about new project the bitcoinbrother on: November 20, 2023, 10:43:41 PM
What you think what's the price could at the end of the year?
The price now less then 1$ and it's projected to following btc price the developers said the techically maximum price Are 100k+ but it's never smart to wait max price best to sell early Even lower then btc actual real price.
So i think this year it can hit 100$ price what's your idea?
In my opinion it's fastest way to make $ this year.

I have seen many coins that were projected to follow bitcoin or the inverse of bitcoin but it didn't work. Developers are free to copy the code of bitcoin as it is open protocol and create their own coins, which they have been doing. But coming to influence the people that a particular coin will behave like bitcoin will not attract the community.
It is bitcoin or Altcoins, nothing like BTC-Altcoins sandwich.
However, every coin has chances of growth this coming bull run.
677  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best exchange to start trading? on: November 20, 2023, 10:36:39 PM
Up until now I have been just buying and patiently waiting for the bull run but in the last week I have seen 2 altcoins I was interested in pump up 40% in less than 24 hours so want to try make some money and give trading a go.
What exactly have you been buying?
Bitcoin or a stable coin?

...as the market is starting to get very volatile so could be good opportunity to make some extra money which would then mean I can invest more into my long term plays.
As the market is starting to get volatile, it is a period to make good profits. But you need to remember that volatility is an two edged sword. It can go green and also go red. Prepare for the worse as you embark in your mission.
678  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and War Crimes? on: November 20, 2023, 10:28:52 PM
Crypto is a stock market and also it can be affected by some wars and pandemic like situations.
Crypto is not stock market

So I will say that Currently going wars with Gaza ( PALAESTINE) and Israel War. In long term situation and as there are high chances of spreading of war to whole middle eat. Will bitcoin market go on crash mood because last time was coronavirus.
What are your thoughts?
I think that could be the reason of crash.

Wars affect bitcoin price but it is not all wars per say. The Israel and Gaza has no negative effects on bitcoin price. It is even at the middle of the war that bitcoin moved from the region of 20k to 30k.
679  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you pay for signals? And how much ? on: November 20, 2023, 10:22:17 PM
Dlyou pay for signals? And how much ?
What's your monthly expenses for trading signals? Yearly?
I don't pay but i read alot people pay for signals so how good results If this ?

Let's say people pay $100 per month for 12 months. This is a big money which anyone would have used to learn trading themselves. I haven't used signals and I don't know how it works, this doesn't mean I don't believe in signals.

But I will advise anyone who wants to used signals to know how to trade on their own first in order that they may understand when the market is going bad.

After raising this topic, people will come to your dm for some good requests, you may decide to ignore them and only make public engagements and agreements
680  Other / Meta / Re: How does total time logged in count? on: November 20, 2023, 10:13:49 PM
It’s related to the actual web page requests that you make, something like what is described in this (old) post on the SMF forum. The referenced post indicates that your’re not really logged into the forum on a constant basis, but rather every HTTP request resends information that reauthenticates you, allowing SMF to make some assumptions to derive the cumulative time your session has been logged-in, so as to say, based on the interval of time between requests (some shorter interval lengths lead SMF to assume you are still logged-in, whilst other longer intervals do the opposite).

Do you mean that if I am logged in, read posts only and log out for complete 1year, I will not have any rating of number of days logged in?
It means I need to post, quote someone, send merit before logged in days could count?

I have about 50+ days and I am not sure I have completely understood what that works and how it helps forum itself. I mean merit and activity for ranking. What does number of logged in days do?
