661  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: January 26, 2024, 10:28:45 AM
Are we going to get rid of market manipulation someday? This is so frustrating... Bitcoin could be doing much better right now if it wasn't for this Grayscale bullshit. This company holds too many coins, and even worse is the possibility they might purchase large chunks of Bitcoin, once they crash the price to the dip.

Who might be buying the coins Grayscale are dropping on the market for sale? Another whales? I don't hope so... It should be an opportunity for small and new investors to reinforce their wallets with more BTCs and decrease the power and influence of whales inside Bitcoin market, at least a little.

I'm telling people to invest in Bitcoin, because this is a golden chance before the halving event, but after seeing what this Grayscale is doing, I'm not sure if I should keep encouraging people, or if we should wait the price to crash further in order to buy. I confess the influence range a single whale has inside the market worried me regards the future.
I must tell you the truth this is a blessing in disguise for people who understands what's going on. Yes Grayscale is pushing the price down with their continuous sale, but ask yourself who are the people buying? Be among those that are buying and wait for Grayscale to finish selling and see what happens with bitcoin. We are wiser now to understand when there is a manipulation in the market. This is an opportunity for bitcoin to get to those who has been waiting for the price to come down to this level, but the funny thing is that most of them will still be waiting for further dip which may happen or may not. With the level of awareness that bitcoin is getting everyday, even if Grayscale sell all their holdings bitcoin will never be enough for the global population. There can only be 21 million bitcoins and the world population is over 8 billion. This is a simple manipulation, let's not give the whales what they want don't sell to them buy emptying your bag because of Grayscale selling, instead buy from Grayscale as they are selling.
It's only those that have been following up with many years of all sorts of ups and downs in this sector that would understand the significants of this moment that the bitcoin price has been facing a dip in the past weeks as a result of the Grayscale sales, but just like you asked, if Grayscale is selling then who are those buying? This should be a food for thought to those are are panicking selling due to the price fall instead of leverage on this Dip to accumulate more.

If bitcoin was really going to dump dipper than it has ever done before, and also if the future of the halving and bullrun we are expecting isn't positive for bitcoin then Tesla would have joined in the sells but instead they are maintaining their holding still. What does this mean to those panic selling?

662  Economy / Gambling / Re: MetaMask Crypto Casinos on: January 26, 2024, 10:02:48 AM
Hi,

Do you prefer casinos where you can connect your MetaMask wallet for quick sign-in and deposit/withdrawal, or is that not very important to you?

I've created a section listing crypto casinos that offer this feature, but it hasn't attracted much interest, so I'm curious to know what you think about this feature.
You can find the list here -> MetaMask Casinos
It's not an important factor to me as a very private person and a gambler at that. As seamless as the method could be with the gambler not having to all of the time going through the process of depositing and withdrawing from his gambling account with the casino I still don't buy the idea as it can make a gambler easily prone to excessive gambling without a bankroll control especially when they  are so naive enough to connect with a wallet they do use for other transactions, and just as @fivestar4everMVP  did said, we shouldn't compromise our privacy for a comfort that have the tendency to jeopardize our security in the future as most of these casino's if not all of them are centralized casinos.

For me I'll continue to stick with the casinos I use for my gambling and I can't for any reason see depositing and withdrawing in/from my gambling account as a stress filled process. Let's always be up-to-date with any features we decide to make use of as it concerns it's pros and cons if you're cool with it before embarking on making use.
663  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The danger of gender inequality on: January 25, 2024, 01:02:08 PM
Two candidates visited my office two days ago to submit their applications for the position of a health assistant. I had the honor of taking part in the interviews with them. After the interview, the candidate did very well, but the CMD chose to hire the male candidate because of his physical strength and height as the best contender for the position. He didn't even give the female applicant a chance to demonstrate her qualifications. What do you think about this?
Hmm what do I think about this. I think there are job requirements that is gender centred as in if you look at the position of a secretary assistant you will most likely find the females in that area being giving the job more than males and there's a reason for that if you look deep into it. It is for this reason that I think further that the CMD must have his genuine cogent reasons for doing what he did, it could be that his experience over the years would have thought him that the male is one that is best fit for the job cause it could be that it requires physical strength to man the duty. So it's not all about gender inequality.
664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling can be a hope restorer if we go about it wisely! on: January 25, 2024, 10:57:31 AM
I agree with you, some may be lucky but on the other hand some are unlucky, I used to think that gambling could make a person's mind change quickly, like when they get a lucky win, it might be possible that the winnings they have got can make them more courageous, and with them becoming more courageous, they will continue gambling instead of withdrawing the winnings they have got.
You used to think! That means you don't think in that wrong direction anymore and good a thing you have done away with such thought because that's no courage at all but an act of cowardice and weakness, if not how else do you describe or explain a situation where a gambler gets lucky to win a big win and continued to gambling all of that wins just to end up losing it all. The only courageousness is when he is able to take a stand to leave immediately such lucky win is gotten as there's no pride in losing but there's one in profit making and using it wisely.
665  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Warning] Trezor users are receiving fake emails with phishing links. on: January 25, 2024, 08:22:04 AM
But so far I did not receive any email about this or upgrading the firmware and I will not believe it if it is not wrong, of course I will always be careful in this matter even though it comes seemingly from trezor email but should be more sure at X official or original website.

Yes the most important thing is don't give the seed phrase to anyone unless only you know.
Not just you mate even some other trezor users didn't receive the phishing message which could mean that the messages were sent randomly to the trezor users. From what I read on their official account on X they advise their users to delete the messages and we should stay vigilant for phishing attempts but one thing is that they didn't tell us how we are to stay stay vigilant so based on this, unsubscribing from their newsletter/email messages is the safer option right now, because from all what hàs happened it's obvious trezor can't guarantee absolutely security and privacy  of users data away from hackers/leak leading to phishing attack on users.

And for users we should be keen to taking steps to verify the genuineness of messages we receive if they are actually from the right source before doing whatever the message is requiring from us so that we don't out of laziness to verify from other sources fall victim to scam.

I think what trezor needs to do now to reassure users is to find out what led to this attack or leak and deal with the problem against repeating in the future. Just a warning isn't enough.
666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: ✨ Join Our Decentralized Gambling Survey - Win $40 in Ether! ✨ on: January 25, 2024, 07:27:19 AM
The title of your post says: Join Our Decentralized Gambling Survey - Win $40 in Ether! but in the body of your post you are saying a survey participant may stand a chance to win in a raffle that will be conducted. Please be specific as your title contradicts what your posts says. There's a difference between chance and assurance.

Building on what one of the user said in the preceding comments you should change the reward to bitcoin instead of Ethereum  so your thread will be classified as an altcoin discussion thread. Moreso, the use of an old member of the forum with a known reputation to assist you in managing the escrow account for payment will be a motivation for forum members to have interest in the survey.

Wish you guys luck and welcome to the forum.
667  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are newbies afraid to comment on threads of highly ranked members? on: January 25, 2024, 06:57:29 AM
. Many may find my subject ridiculous, fanciful, or incoherent, or I may be critical, but I still need to clear my doubts.
Fear is exactly what your topic is addressing yet you started with fear and obscurity in your words being worried and thinking about what and how other people may view or think about your posts. One thing for sure you can't please everyone in this life and if we want to live our life  pleasing people then we are doing a great disservice to ourself. While creating a posting you need not fear about what others might feel or think about the post provided you are convicted about the quality of your post and the message it's sending or asking then leave whatever anyone may say, they are entitled to say their mind irrespective of ranks.

However, about commenting on posts, I will always advise newbies not to be afraid of commenting in any post discussion in as much as they have an idea or knowledge about where the discussion is headed to and not to comment out of point. Avoiding threads you have no idea about is more honourable to you than going in there to mess yourself up which may lead to mod deleting your comment and other members putting you in their ignore list.

We are here to share knowledge, but the truth is you can't be a carrier of all knowledge so just focus on your area of strength and never indulging in a topic you have no idea of, it makes sense that way to reduce work on mods and cheat posting ND spams.
668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been able to win a game given to you in the dream? on: January 24, 2024, 12:54:57 PM
Yes giving games in the dream does not necessarily mean they must give you the game and tell you the matches to play but always come with parable. Like me any message given to me in my dream I always convert it to code. And it usually works for me. Sometimes it might come as a message with date and time. Sometimes you will see numbers or given a date or time on when to do something. And indirectly is a gaming Lotto code. For those who understand the type of gambling am talking about.
The type of game you are talking about is that most people look for parables through their dreams and some can get a win according to what they get parables through dreams, some even hold it several times to be able to win what they have dreamed of, because there are also lodes that they they get it through their dreams, it doesn't come out immediately when they buy it, but they have to buy it several times and then they can win according to the parable they got through their dreams.
Does these things really do happen or it's just some superstitious belief system that people are consumed with. The human mind has a way of making us dream about things we have spent lot of time thinking, wishing and talking about and due to how much we have dwelt on them we easily have them taking a center stage in our dream.
Even though I don't believe all of these things regarding gambling, I still won't call it a fictional story, but it will be great we hear it directly from some member in the forum that have had such as experience and how it played out for him or her.
669  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Merit] Share your best posts/threads with Fillippone to be merit assessed on: January 24, 2024, 12:25:28 PM

Excluded Boards: Meta, Reputation, Altcoin (local boards included), Archival, Games and Rounds, Investor Based Games, Micro Earnings, Politics and Society, Gambling and Off-topic will not count. Posts in Ivory Tower and Serious discussion don't count as well.

Hello boss @Fillippone I want to inform you about this issue since long time, many users are posting here outside of these rules to gain merit. But most people are breaking the rules you asked to post, isn't this the important thing?

Hello Mr out of mind, I admire you are looking for a way to fish out defaulters In order to gain reputation in this forum. But I would like you to look closely in my application,
I read the rules twice before applying everytime, so maybe you are mistaking me for someone else. Check and make your correction before you end up having liar at your trust.

Did you see economy  board or local there in the rules?
Here is what Mr Fillippone said about local board
Quote
I accept topics in any language and from any local board. Local boards are actually fundamental for the growth of the forum
With what you have provided, it's only the first application that went out of the rules provided by mr Fillippone, so I recommend you read the rules well before making such an expensive mistake that has to do with trust and reputation.
@Makus don't work up yourself for someone that's after cheap attention, I think his username Out of mind is really having an effect on him, because from all indication he was just in a hurry to point out errors for him to be recognized by Fillippone, but maybe he should try harder next time just maybe he can achieve his aim.

Going through almost all the pages in all the posts summited by different user's from different countries I can see many posts that are LB posts been summited too example Russia LB etc, so I am curious to know why he @out of mind choose to only pick posters of a particular local board. Could this be an act of vendetta in anyway? I don't know.

However, I appreciate you @Makus for bringing to the knowledge of @Out of mind, about the other rules by Fillippone that said he accepts topic from any language in any local board. @Fillippone I apologize for any distraction all of this might have caused to your thread, please continue your good selfless work.
670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2023/2024 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: January 24, 2024, 09:04:15 AM
In the EFL leg 2 semi-final, Chelsea put in a great performance to beat Middlesbrough to reach the final. Although Chelsea lost against Middlesbrough in the 1st leg, Chelsea's strong attack came in the 2nd leg and scored 6-1. Middlesbrough's own player conceded an own goal at the start of the game and from then on their game began to deteriorate and Chelsea took advantage of this weakness to score 6 goals at the end of the game. Chelsea led by 4 goals in the first half and 2 more after half time, all in all they played a great game against Middlesbrough. Now the Chelsea team is entering the final and they are probably more likely to play the final match against Liverpool I think.
Chelsea only reminded Middleborough of their place playing against them and that's clearly what the scores of the match depicts. I watch an astonishing different Chelsea team in performance yesterday although it would be said that they played against an average team but their performance is something to be made mention of, and if they can only keep up with that performance improve on it in their next game then they will be in the favourite to win the EPL whether they meet Liverpool in the finals or not.

Whatever motivation that Pochino gave to his boys to buff off such fire in them I think he should keep giving them that even if it might lead to overdose in as much as it's gonna build a winning mentality in them on the pitch. Congratulations blues.
671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you preffer your dealer talkative or not? on: January 24, 2024, 06:36:50 AM
What do you think about this all? Do you like your dealer talkative or not?
And if you prefer the dealer being talkative, would you mind if they made up some story just to keep talking? Or would you prefer even that over silence?
I am no big fan of blackjack or roulette games although I seldom play especially when I have to follow some colleagues of mine that are into the game and in the little time's I have been there what I think about this all is that it's just the job of the dealer to be talking and there's no particular direction of discuss or talk the dealer is confined to and that makes them talk about almost anything.

It would be boring to have a dealer quiet in the course of the game at least that's what makes the game complete but what I don't like is when a dealer has to cook up some stories to impress as I can get distracted in the game just by knowing or sensing that what he is talking about are fake or made up stories. Why I do get  distracted by fake talks is that within me I feel like the dealer thinks am dumb to accept whatever he dishes out just because he has to talk, it's better he is real with a bitter truth talk all the way.

673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The need to control your emotions as a football fan. on: January 23, 2024, 12:42:49 PM
From the look of expression that pressman must have spoken out of emotional displeasure but that's not an excuse as he has acted unprofessional and IMO the Ghanaian football federation and FIFA should without the waste of time serve him the necessary sanctions befitting of such unprofessionalism.

I suspect he must have played a bet behind the scene in favour of his home country to win the game matching the football strength of Ghana against that of Mozambique it is possible to have played his way but utterly gambling is just unpredictable and not an outcome you have control of. That's why whatever results we get despite what our expectations might have been let just accept it in good faith and move on.
674  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What You will do in this situation? on: January 23, 2024, 09:07:51 AM
Besides that, I just feel that if he deposited $10 = IDR 150,000 into a gambling site just to play slots, he would probably suffer a complete loss. But if he can place bets on sports betting, there is a possibility of him winning some money on small bets. Wouldn't that be an advantage for him?

If you were in this situation, what would you do? Introduce him to sports betting or let him stick to playing slots. Yesterday, I just let it go but we still often meet at other activities.
You only have that as a feeling which only a mete guess and not that you're sure about any losses he is incurring by playing slot stead of sport betting. Moreover, it could be the guy is having a bunch of fun filled moment each time he's playing the slot that's why he has no interest on gambling in sport games despite him having knowledge of many sports teams just as you mentioned.

I would implore you to let the young man be where he is comfortable and cool with what he is doing I mean the slot game he is playing. In as much as he is not doing it irresponsibly and not acting as an addict with it then he should be left on with his game of interest. Have you Op also had a second thought on this, like what of you persuade him about gambling on sports betting and he lost control of himself in the process or what if he never makes profits (winnings) at all contrary to your believe that due to his knowledge about football games he would most likely be having wins. Maybe you should just let the sleeping dog lie.
675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Zhilei Zhang vs. Joseph Parker (WBO interim heavyweight title) March 8 on: January 23, 2024, 08:35:50 AM
This fight the fighters has their varied areas of strength to which if any one of them can make  much better use of it to his advantage he's undoubtedly going be the winner in the ring. For Zhilei Zhang is popularly known for his power bunch that is liken to a bag of cement thrown on you, but age is not on his side anymore than it is on Parker's and that can be an area of weakness that his opponent Joseph Parker can capitalize on as one with a young age he has the agility, the tactics and strength for endurance, we saw all of that when he faced Wilder as an underdog.

I think if Joseph can make good use of his reflexes to avoid receiving direct punches from Zhang who has a much experience than him in this fight then he Joseph should be able to win this fight. It won't be an easy fight but am putting my weight behind Parker on this one.
676  Economy / Gambling / Re: How Crypto casino market themselves? on: January 23, 2024, 07:53:43 AM
I am curious to know who are their targeted audience and at what age group. In general gambling people target countries like thailand more but probably this is not the case with crypto. Do they target nerds or total dumbs? How efficient they are between their marketing tactics?
The internet has made the advertisement of anything order than gambling a very simple thing to do with many ways to go about it depending on your target audience or users. With gambling mode of advertisement today there is the  use of ads, referral bonuses, influencers, celebrities (those with the charisma to pull in large followers on the social media space), and common among us in the forum is the signature campaign mainly for crypto casino's.

These casinos has no specific target audience in terms of age they don't have limit provided you're of the gambling age as specified in a country's gambling regulatory policies both old and young are a prospect to them and therefore fall within their scope.

Op, on your question of if casinos target are nerds or dumbs. It's simple No! Gambling is a game for smart and intelligent people with a lot of thinking and calculation on how to be one step ahead of your opponent to be able to stand a chance of winning a game or bet, therefore it doesn't make sense that casinos should focus their search light on nerds or dumbs as their target audience. What can the nerds or dumbs offer financially?

678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do i handle my first gambling experience on: January 22, 2024, 03:22:14 PM
Hello senior citizens and my fellow newbies gambler's, now I gat a straight forward question for you all.
How do I prepare myself for my first gambling experience?
It is just gambling, a game of luck so there's nothing to prepare for. However, just stick to gambling with an amount you cool to lose. Do well to created a bankroll for yourself based on what you make as income weekly or monthly.

Quote
What are the things I should expect as a first time gambler?
Expect losses and don't put your mind too much on profits else you might end up chasing losses and in the chase of losses in gambling it has the 99% tendency of ending with more losses. Gambling is not a source of making money bear that in mind too.

Quote
How do we react to my first gambling results be it winning or lose?
Thank you all for your helpful opinions.
If you get a win in your first gambling streak then good for you, it's all your lucky day. I'll advise you go home with that profit and enjoy your day. Don't continue in the hopes of making more wins for you won't love the next results.

I don't know but I think am just getting to read your thread for the first time and it's interesting to see how delightful you are to give answers to certain unanswered questions about casino's that may be bothering many gamblers minds.

1. From your years of experience with different casino's sincerely speaking, can you tell us if casinos put the interest of gamblers as a salient priority in their operation. I am asking this question because I have always believe that these gambling house in general don't have our best interest in mind in all their operation.

2. I have always wondered why casino give a blind sight to a gambler that might have erred against any one of their ToS maybe ignorantly or knowingly and instead of the casino to point out their offense immediately  and serve the gamblers' account the penalty deemed, they would rather ignore not until the gambler might have fund good sum of money into the account or won a bet and about to withdraw that's when they would raise the issue and sometimes this might have taken months or so. I want to know what's the idea behind that mode of behavior by casinos.

Would be pleased to receive honest replies from you Sir.
680  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Overview] Comprehensive list of Crypto Sportsbooks v2 -New Poll- on: January 22, 2024, 05:16:53 AM
I am willing to share my honest opinions on every sportsbook on bitcointalk, but I don’t want to make enemies here. Since many of them have signature campaigns, I’m sure it will offend a lot of people who'd feel obliged to represent the sportsbook in their signature. Will just add constructive criticism unless there are many scam accusations on a respective sportsbook.
That is fine.
Writing cons and pros is not going to create any enemies, it can only help improve casinos and make them better.
It is best to be neutral if possible, but I always publicly wrote my bad and good experience with all casinos I used.
This is the best way to give honest feedback, and I would not accept money to change my opinion Wink
Providing an honest opinion about a casino be it bad or good shouldn't be something that should earn a user enemies and as a gambler if you're accurate about whatever opinion you're bringing to the public based on your experience with a casino then it should be done without fear or favour.

Though I understand the fears, because there are some persons that would want to gain cheap recognition by bashing another just because whatever honest opinion as given doesn't go down well with a casino they represent or are nursing an interest to represent it in signature and they would want to stand in the gap to attack you in order to gain a cheap recognition. But be it as it may, we shouldn't be afraid to deliver honest informations whether people will like it or not. But a casino that wants to improve and be in the vanguard among other casinos in the industry will always be open to constructive honest criticism as to build on those gaps and lapses
