661  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could the scalability of the Bitcoin Blockchain be enhanced without sacrificing on: November 11, 2023, 12:16:47 PM
Even now that it is still not scalable to some people it is still not in competition With other blockchains like TON who are fast because of its decentralization.
An undisputed professional world heavyweight boxing champion was once asked in an interview why he still woke up every 4am to train even while he was an undisputed champion, his response was that, he wakes up that time to train because he knows by that time all his opponents would probably be busy sleeping and gaining weight, despite being a heavyweight champion he wouldn't make the mistake of underestimating his opponents.
And that if he ever discovers that any of his opponents are waking up by 4am to train like he does, he'd start waking up by 2am, to make sure he stays at the top.

My point is that, being at the top of all the Blockchains is the more reason why Bitcoin should keep making improvements to make sure they stay there.

2. It will discourage many from running their own full node because with larger block space many will just spam the network with dust transactions and so on

Thanks for your contribution, this was truly informative and educative, I wasn't at first aware of this fact but now I do. Thank you

I would not be surprised if the incredible Ordinals idea had come from a Government agency seeking to destroy the real purpose of Bitcoin.
Well I couldn't agree more in this. Of course we know that a lot of government and financial institutions are a 100% against Bitcoin and whatever it's promising to offer due to its decentralized nature. Bitcoin has removed complete financial control from their hands and the fast rising of Bitcoin poses more threat to them, millions and more are choosing Bitcoin as the day go by so it wouldn't be a thing of surprise if the whole idea of ORDI is from these said Government and Financial Agencies.

They claim that because the Bitcoin blockchain can only handle a specific amount of transactions and data within a predetermined amount of time, transferring bitcoin on-chain has proven to be a very costly, inefficient, and lengthy operation. I firmly believe that developments that make the network more useful and efficient are necessary if Bitcoin is to stay competitive and ahead of other blockchains.

I've come to understand that the Bitcoin Blockchain's scalability issues are the reason for this. There are now limits on how many transactions the Blockchain can process in a second. Furthermore, there are also continuing discussions about how to increase the blockchain's scalability without compromising its decentralization and security. which brings me to my query. Is it possible to enhance the Blockchain such that it can handle an infinite number of transactions every second without jeopardizing its decentralization and security?
664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A tip for staying resposible while gambling. on: November 11, 2023, 10:15:56 AM
Some gamblers may not gamble responsibly unless they lose and taught a lesson from it. .
I used to be an irresponsible gambler until the day I realized that gambling was created and programmed in favor of the casino, meaning at all time, the casino will always be on the winning side while the gambler will always be on the loosing side, this has always been the tradition and it is only when you realize this that you will know that gambling isn't a job or a profession.

Sometimes it favors you but most times you're at the loosing end. And until gamblers understand this then there is no technique that can stop them from gambling or magically convert them to responsible gamblers. Some people take and consider gambling as a full time job lol.

Maybe the above tip could also be helpful to some people but I bet it would be useless to many. The solution I believe would be if the gambler realizes that gamble will always be in favor of the casino and not the gamblers, so then he can change his approach and  emply a better approach.
665  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Tuitorship can be recommended.. Opinion on: November 10, 2023, 03:04:24 PM
In as much teachers are needed in a school, because they have passed such stages as  students

The importance of tutorship can never be overemphasized, according to the popular saying that no man is an island, every successful man in our society today as we know has at least one or two mentors whom they learn from because you can never know everything, so it's indeed very important and a necessity to have a mentor, tutor or a guide to help you through certain stages and challenges and no one can do that job better than the high ranked members in this board.

Sometimes I look at some threads published on this forum and I can tell how lack of experience and guidance the poster has. My point is that, a lot of people in this our local board are so desperate for recognition and merits that they believe it's just by copying certain informative articles and news and use it to spam the board. I'm not saying the news and the articles are not helpful, indeed they are, I personally have learned a lot from them, but when something good is excessively done, it's thereby known as abuse and it's the outcome is never good.

In a nutshell, it's very important for the high ranked members to share their knowledge and guidance to we the newbies and low ranked members in order for us to grow in the right path, with the right mindset. We rise by lifting others so we can all rise together and make a recognition for country board.

Bitcoin prices are still likely to rise in the final weeks of this year if the ETF is approved. The new year will undoubtedly be a good year for Bitcoin as well. There might be a small dump before the halving, but Bitcoin probably won't look back after that.

Thank you very much, that was really helpful and reassuring too.

do a weekly dca of an affordable amount for a few years.

After reading the opinions and views of all the seasoned and experiencd members, all I could think of to question myself at the time was, "Why exactly didn't I consider the idea of DCA?"

That's really the most effective way to accumulate. I will have to accept the DCA idea without a doubt. Your suggestions and guidance were really beneficial; at the very least, I've fully stopped thinking about the hypothetical "WHAT IF" scenario.
Thank You

But if indeed we already know that the risks and some possibilities that must occur about bitcoin then I think when you remain convinced that bitcoin is one of the things that you can maintain as an investment I think you will not think too much "what if" because indeed all you think about is how to add and do a good strategy in the investment made.

I believe this here is the best advice I've received so far, especially the last phrase. Smiley

So would you be kind enough to share a clue of what investment strategy would be considered best to apply in a situation like this?

Bitcoin has temporarily recovered.  Does this mean it is going to crash again or recover more?  Who knows.  Nobody.

Bitcoin may have indeed recovered temporarily, but due to the market's volatility it's still very difficult and nearly impossible to predict what the next move might be. Some say there's gonna be a bullish run and some think otherwise. Also considering the fact that there are so many factors that Joins to influence the price of Bitcoin.

I think this makes it really hard to make any choice regarding the investment strategies and choices to apply. So what exactly do you suggest one should do in the midst of all these uncertainties?

and when things like this happens, it's not a means to started to think otherwise about bitcoin

You're entirely Correct, my friend, but I'll wager that in the early stages of your Bitcoin adventure, similar situations would make you feel the same way. As a result, it's very common for novice Bitcoin users to experience mild panic attacks at such times. The Bible even states that your heart would be wherever your money or fortune is.

You would concur with me that developing this kind of trust requires a high level of experience, therefore I imagine that when new bitcoiners read your comment in this scenario, they would say, "Easier said than done."

671  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What lies ahead for Bitcoin in the coming days? on: November 09, 2023, 10:41:39 AM
Hi everyone.
We can all agree that the starting of this year 2023 has been extremely good for Bitcoin and a few other Cryptocurrencies unlike last year 2022 that Bitcoin had an epileptic run and was literally struggling, making lots of people think twice about still choosing Bitcoin as their choice of investment.

I remember being in a Facebook group where people were debating if Bitcoin would ever recover or if that was in fact the end of the world biggest Cryptocurrency Bitcoin. Inasmuch as I've witnessed similar events in the past years where Bitcoin walked down this same path I still couldn't help but have the thought "WHAT IF"
What if this is actually the end of Bitcoin?
What if I'm making the wrong choice still investing in Bitcoin?
What if this, what if that...
And honestly the Negative Vibes and tension in the air weren't really helping at all, but it appears as we all see now that Bitcoin has indeed recovered and taking a good turn now.

So that brings me to the big question considering the current acceleration at which Bitcoin has attained.
What will happen by the end of the Year? of course it's just a few weeks before the year runs out. Will Bitcoin ever rise again in the bottom weeks of the year? Or, will it crash just like in 2022?
These are the big questions. I believe there's no way I'm the only one having these questions in my mind.

Despite the acceleration Bitcoin has taken, we cannot elude the fact that Bitcoin in the past few months has been under pressure due to the high level of inflation that's hit emerging economies such as the US and other countries.
And from what I learned the U.S. Federal Reserve has hiked the interest rates with a 25-basis point to tackle inflation issues.

Although this isn't the first time Bitcoin is experiencing this kind of pressure, it happens almost all the time.
So please I'd really need your contributions and ideas on what you feel or think would be the outcome of Bitcoin the remaining weeks of this year and most importantly, what would the new year have installed for Bitcoin?

672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will FTT token everly hit it ATH again? on: November 09, 2023, 02:10:57 AM
so I said let me bring this information to the forum if there is any possibility that this token Can still recover to it's all time high again.

It's pretty hard to predict which turn this sort of tokens would take my friend, these are pumped and dumped tokens, although I've seen rare cases where an abandoned project took another turn in the market and made a big wave but this only occur on rare occasions so I would keep my fingers crossed if I were you

I remember being part of this project several years back, I was determined to hold on to the toke  while others where rushing on selling off their tokens simply because the project was at it's dump stage. I believed so much in this project and decided to HODL at all cost.

It did pay off actually because the token did recover and beat its all time high, but that was the only time I witnessed such miracle.
