pretty sure using one person was against the terms even with version 1.0 but i dont know, never read the terms before There weren't terms for referrals before, at least anywhere I was able to find them. These terms took effect 2012-04-05

Interesting. Now we just need a miner that makes this easy to do.

less than target or greater than difficulty one or the other.
Ah yes. I see now.

I am the tyranny, so... none. But seriously, I ignore rules that I don't agree with.So... none. Oppression happens in your mind not the perpetrator. That is why some people can be brought to their knees with a few words while others can live free in a prison cell.
I'm not so sure being a prison cell is really living free...

So I have been taking a close look at p2pool lately (for my own peace of mind if nothing else).
Shouldn't p2pool node report all DOA as rejected back to the miner.
Across my entire farm cgminer shows ~ 1.5% reject rate ("R" in cgminer). p2pool shows ~2.5% DOA rate.
My assumptions is the logic flow is something like this 1) miner requests work (getwork). 2) p2pool provides work. 3) miner returns low diff shares (I have mine set to a static diff 1). 4) p2pool verifies share a) if share is DOA it increments DOA count by one, and sends reject notification to iminer b) if share is < share diff and not dead it submits it to all peers for inclusion in share chain and sends accept notification to miner c) if share is < block diff it submits it to bitcoin network and sends accept notification to miner
So why does DOA % match reject % in cgminer?
I think you meant less than, not greater than. I don't know the answer to your question though

Wow...if you didn't know this before doing something illegal on the internet, maybe crime isn't your thing.
Tor and illegal actions do not at all have to be connected. There are plenty of legitimate reasons for usage of Tor. I don't like when people automatically assume anonymity is only needed for illegal purposes. I don't want to live in that world.

I am so far surprised that no-one seems to be interested in this (for things such as Bitcoin100) and (if the feature actually does get added) will be creating a "project management" package for the CIYAM software platform that will integrate with bitcoind to work with such "non-anonymous" addresses.
If you don't want to patch anything, you can use a client like blockchain.info to handle the key. It will return change to the spending address. If you want to never put the private keys on an online computer, Armory's watching wallets would be safe to distribute for auditing and the change addresses would be deterministic. It's probably best to use that bitcoind patch though.

What if the winner wants to point at a pool that doesn't use 1 difficulty shares? That's actually a good question. I'd point it at p2pool just to support p2pool.

folding@home and projects like BOINC are probably where I will likely move my miners if I ever stop mining coins.

I'm pretty sure windows is needed to overvolt 5970's. Unless you want to flash them. There is really no benefit to using another OS. Programs like logmein work fine for remote access to dedicated miners. New people should especially not waste time trying to learn how to set up BAMT. There is nothing to be gained from it, unless you don't know how to use windows either. You can buy refurbished hard drives on new egg for 20 bucks. In my experience usb drives fail a lot.
....Have you even tried to set it up before? Seriously, there is no linux knowledge needed, especially for v0.5. It's pretty much as simple as editing a config and poking the "GO" button. And if you backup your config, USB failures don't matter at all, just flash a new drive and drop in the old config. Also, USB drives rarely fail while they are running, and a normal rig will be running 24/7. Certainly there is something to be gained from it; it comes with extensive monitoring and reporting capabilities built right in, and is more stable than Windows, leading to more hash in the long run. Seriously, get a clue before bashing something based on its OS. Yes, I have tried it. There is a lot more to it then just turning it on. There is nothing it can do that windows can't. USB failures are just the same as hard drive failures. Any drive can be backed up. Monitoring and reporting can be done in windows. I have yet to hear a single benefit. More profit running BAMT is a joke. Windows can gain you another in 10% clock speed by increasing the voltage. dd the drive, ssh in, vim 2 files, gpumon I'm not sure what more there is. It handles updates and everything and has the best monitoring i've seen anywhere. In my experience usb drives fail while plugged in frequently. They usually get extremely hot, to the point where the plastic starts to melt on them. Though while running a mining rig it would be pretty rare for a hard drive or a usb drive to fail. When it comes to down time, I really only worry about video card issues.
I've never seen a drive melt. That sounds bad... Also, if you care about video card issues, why do you care about overvolting? You should be undervolting if you want your cards to last longer.

Set the secret phrase.
How do you verify the identity of an anonymous person whose entire digital presence may have been compromised? I'm open to suggestions.
Oh okay. So if the secret phrase is set, an IP and such will not be enough? I'm happy with that.
