661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your reason to gamble? Fun or profit? on: April 09, 2017, 01:02:38 PM
Do you gamble for fun or for profit?

A lot will say its for profit for sure. For me, the fun doesn't exist while you are playing. I always feel very nervous while I'm at it because I know it will disappear in a matter of seconds. The fun only exists after you win your target price.
A lot of people enjoy that adrenaline though, just from the prospect that they might win.
662  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why trading is better than gambling? on: April 09, 2017, 01:00:53 PM
Trading actually is better than gambling because it's a progression.  Even if you only ever end up losing, you'll know that if you kept trading, analysing and considering more closely, you could earn quite a lot.  In gambling, these lines of experience are a lot less clear - trial and error are harder because even if you succeed it could just be coincidence.
663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to know if a gambling site is a scam or not? on: April 09, 2017, 12:59:00 PM
The first thing you should do is check its provably fair mechanism, if you understand it, or at least find people who do understand it to consider it for you.

If it doesn't have one, the chances are that it's either a scam or intends to become one in the future.  You need to research their owners and background in order to consider if they're legit.

You could also look at gambling site scripts and see if theirs follows one closely.  If it looks like they haven't put a lot of effort in, it's probably a scam.
664  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How you pick your bets? on: April 09, 2017, 12:57:08 PM
If you want to actually succeed, trusting your gut is a bad idea.  What you need to do is trust deep analysis and thought about the prospects of teams compared to the odds provided.
665  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's your favourite country? on: April 09, 2017, 12:51:14 PM
Japan is interesting.  I went there once, very nice place and people and it's cool to see that they're not too Westernised so you can experience a properly different culture, especially if you get a bit away from Tokyo.
666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Funniest Thing You Will Read ALL day! on: April 07, 2017, 01:36:54 AM
jonald_fyookball is on reddit calling everyone who disagrees with him on Bitcointalk a PAID SHILL  Cheesy

I'm laughing SOOOOOOOOOOOO hard LOL

https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/63wne6/bitcointalk_is_overrun_with_paid_shills/
The "paid shilling is obvious" haha, maybe if we could actually stop calling everyone else a paid shill the discussion would get on a bit.  Technical jargon usually is needed for legitimate debates, maybe he just doesn't understand it well enough.
667  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would happen if BTC was Banned? on: April 07, 2017, 01:34:27 AM
It would still be used, just like drugs are just as used as before the supposed war on drugs began.  The only thing it would change is that the price would drop as big investors and traders (people doing legal things) take their money out of it.
668  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin is a good investment now, because... on: April 07, 2017, 01:33:27 AM
With bitcoin you can make a nice profit with the volatility. More people I'll join sontje demand goes up and so will the price. If more pope share something then it needed to be debided up more.
exactly the more who invest from this system the more value to rise up and that's how the investors/businessman seen the pictures
and they also invested and ride with this fluctuation, more and more will come to this way and play, invest their money and time to
learn more about btc its still good to study and make your entry.
the most important to push the bitcoin growth into next level are to have more people who use bitcoin in regular time. i mean when people start using bitcoin for daily needs, daily transaction , i think the situation would far better than when have to wait for a lot of investor put their money in bitcoin. they just playing the money game for the sake of profit, nothing more.
Playing the money game for the sake of profit is what has made the price go up so high.  Bitcoin doesn't have high enough real adoption to justify a price this high anyway.  It's just that when even more investors get involved and see Bitcoin as a stable asset, Bitcoin will rise higher and that's why Bitcoin is a good investment now.
669  Other / Meta / Re: where i see rank and the benefits from it on: April 07, 2017, 01:31:32 AM
See this thread.  Pretty easy to search for it, so do that in future.  Even a google search would have found it.
670  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: April 07, 2017, 01:30:25 AM
It's near impossible for Bitcoin to destroy banks.  Even if it did much better, there would be new banking systems centered around Bitcoin, as there are already edgy Bitcoin savings accounts like Freebitco.in have.
671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will ETH hit 0.100BTC? on: April 07, 2017, 01:26:18 AM
I bought some ETHs when it was 0.055btc but I forgot to sell it, now its playing between 0.038 to 0.42, what shall I do?

  • Sell the ETHs and face the 30% lose .
  • Wait for the ETH to reach 0.055 again?

Newbie trader here Sad
The lesson is, don't buy coins after a huge price rise.  You have to find real potential for the future in coins and buy in early, otherwise you'll end up losing when the price falls.  You should sell, it won't go much higher than it is now.  You need to read up on pump/dumps as well, even if Ethereum is huge and somewhat original it can still be pumped.
672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit in LTC is almost here on: April 07, 2017, 01:22:55 AM
Bitmain is going to do all they can to try and prevent this from happening so that Bitcoiners won't be affected by the positive change this brings to Litecoin.  I hope it can still reach the 75% threshold instead of hovering around it so that maybe SegWit's public support will rise and major mining pools will be forced to accept it.
673  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-4-5] Japan to reach 265,000 bitcoin-accepting merchants by this summer on: April 07, 2017, 01:16:21 AM
There are loads of posts about this, but it's really about how many people actually spend Bitcoin in these merchants and how much they spend.  It's not necessarily going to have a huge effect on the price unless those merchants find that using Bitcoin brings them a lot of business and other merchants follow them.
674  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the big things on social media that can be relate with bitcoin? on: April 07, 2017, 12:32:33 AM
I think bitcoin is already 70-80% popular and known to the world. However with recent years crisis it had lost its value but it is gaining it again. With your social stuff you can make bitcoin more popular and can give it a stage where it can play it's music :-) I have seen few services who have started Physical form of bitcoins. They give it free away on twitter just for responding their tweets which all are related to awareness about bitcoins. This makes sense, people are already desperate about bitcoins and making efforts to make bitcoin more popular and usable. So such campaigns on social media are the one who relates with bitcoin a lot.  Smiley
Not true at all.  A lot of people know about Bitcoin, but people know about loads of tiny little things that don't affect them in their day to day life.  There still needs to be a lot of promotion of Bitcoin on social media because people need to know how it actually works and handed how to use it on a silver platter if we want Bitcoin to grow more.
675  Economy / Economics / Re: The best time to invest. on: April 07, 2017, 12:27:59 AM

Some day in the future, you will realize that the best time to invest was not today, but some other day in the future, when prices were low. But with the information that you have today, the best time to invest is still today, because you do not know when prices will be low, and you do know that the longer you hold your investment, the more time it has to grow.

Toughts?

this is a great quote, i am heavily invested myself and do believe that bitcoin will one day rule the world, make banks obsolete and be a borderless worldwide currency.
Don't get ahead of yourself though.  It might well happen, but you shouldn't put all your hopes in something that could well fail for something else (an altcoin, a newer form of currency, large bugs that are exploited etc).  Make sure you diversify, at least a little bit, especially if you're saving a large amount of money.
676  Economy / Economics / Re: The future of the paper money on: April 07, 2017, 12:24:35 AM
I think the future of paper money is to fall in value, and it is not because of the physical form, but the way the currency is issued. With Bitcoin things are more efficient, since you do not have to depend on politicians.
yeah I also think that it would completely simple and efficient method of payment of paper money will be rarely used in the future. but it does not necessarily bitcoin will replace it lol

I can see that the future of paper money seems to fall too but it doesn't mean it will make the economy of a country fall too. It will only make a difference on what we use to see, government bodies will certainly make the same thing as crypto currency or should I say a digital money and it's going to happen in the future.
It's just changing times and it will not make the economy of a country falling. changing times becomes more advanced it is uncertain and can not be avoided paper money will be replaced by something new

Yes, if you will read what I've said that there would be change with the paper money but there would be no mean of making the economy to fall. And it's what I've saying that paper money will be replaced by another means of payment and has monetary value. And that's a real speculation, we are near to become a cashless society.
cashless society? yeah it looks like it is already happening today many of my friends are currently using a credit card or debit card to pay for goods. even if you are in the supermarket most buyers use credit cards.
But you can reasonably use either and people still have cash with them in their day to day lives for convenience purposes.  Credit cards will never be quite as good as cash, people tend to use them because they have a lot of money in the bank and can therefore use it there and then.  Physical cash still has a future, especially if Bitcoin does better in the digital world because then cash will probably still be just as good in person.
677  Economy / Economics / Re: Which one is good, trading or investing? on: April 07, 2017, 12:20:22 AM
Either can be good.  If you have a big starting capital though, investing is probably your best choice as a lot of assets will grow over time and a lot of companies will want your money to start their business.  If you have a smaller starting capital, while trading is risky it's still probably a better option, especially if you're knowledgeable enough to make a decent profit.
678  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin AND the Altcoins are moving up.. Pushing ATH's for global CC markets.. on: April 07, 2017, 12:16:23 AM
Bull mode.. time

http://coinmarketcap.com/charts/

then click the 26 billion market cap at the top

It is USD 27 Bn.  Tongue
Alts have been the major driver in this rally. Bitcoin dominance is at an all time low.

it's recovering a little, but yes, most of the new money in crypto is moving into altcoins, so that's quite a bad sign for bitcoin since it's a sign people trust altcoins more than bitcoins.

And it's also a sign that if we stay in our current direction, bitcoin won't remain the market leader for long.

Action is required right now or else we lose our advantage over altcoins.
I think it is a sign that other useful altcoins have emerged, and that do things bitcoin does not so I don’t see too much of a problem with that but I agree that something must be done to try to keep the leadership of bitcoin in the world of crypto.
We don't need to keep Bitcoin permanently as some sort of crypto king, but a lot of the money moving into the altcoins is just a huge pump and even if it lasts it won't matter too much because they won't get proper adoption until one of them actually surpasses Bitcoin, which won't happen because people put their money in loads of different altcoins.
679  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin €1500 at coinmarketcap? on: April 07, 2017, 12:13:15 AM
They accidentally leaked out next weeks bitcoin price.
Haha, who knows what could happen.  Seems kind of unlikely in the really short term though, a lot of people hoping for SegWit are moving over to Litecoin until Bitcoin gets its shit together so we'll see.
680  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lost 10 BTC in three days. Should I end my life? on: April 07, 2017, 12:11:36 AM
One is quite certain, you are not the first and not the last man who suffered significant gambling loss.
I been there, however I never lost as much, simply because I don't even have that kind of money.
You need to know one thing, the depression you are experiencing now is temporary state of your mind.
Don't ever think of harming yourself, as long as you are well and alive you can earn that money back.
Look at the bright side - you still have move BTC than most people - 15 BTC is still significant.

But don't gamble anymore.
Yep, 15 Bitcoin is more than most people have, and for some people it's even more than they have in fiat currency.  If you can get professional help for your gambling addiction, you should be okay in the long term since you can just work for more money.
