Will someone PLEASE provide a Linux x86 binary?
663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SmallChange [research-only] [Litecoin based] [15 seconds blocks] [scrypt] on: April 25, 2013, 10:45:34 PM
STILL no QTest, binaryFate.
664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SmallChange [research-only] [Litecoin based] [15 seconds blocks] [scrypt] on: April 25, 2013, 10:16:50 PM
Looks like something from Qt, can you report the full line of the error?

rich@rich ~/smallchange/src/qt $ make
g++ -c -m64 -pipe -O2 -Wall -W -D_REENTRANT -DQT_WEBKIT -DQT_NO_DEBUG -DQT_GUI_LIB -DQT_CORE_LIB -DQT_SHARED -I/usr/share/qt4/mkspecs/linux-g++-64 -I. -I/usr/include/qt4/QtCore -I/usr/include/qt4/QtGui -I/usr/include/qt4 -I. -Itest -I. -I. -o test_main.o test/test_main.cpp
test/test_main.cpp:1:17: fatal error: QTest: No such file or directory
compilation terminated.
make: *** [test_main.o] Error 1

When I am compiling on my Ubuntu box, it is telling me it can't find "QTest".

Where do I get this?

Preferably, I would want a solution through APT.

Balthazar, I installed them.

You made a coding error:

668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SmallChange [research-only] [Litecoin based] [15 seconds blocks] [scrypt] on: April 24, 2013, 05:00:53 AM
SmallChange (SMC) - a 'faster' version of Litecoin which also uses scrypt as a proof of work scheme and is intended for microtransactions.

*) 15 seconds block targets: beat that MinCoin! Wink
    *) 420 699 680 total coins
*) no subsidy within the first 3 days and after approximately 5 years; in between: 4 coins per generated block
*) difficulty retargets every 0.35 days
*) currently peers are looked up over IRC only
*) currently no block checkpoints are in the code (but could be easily added)

Other than that, this coin is exactly like Litecoin and should by no means be used as a real cryptocurrency. All of the coin parameters are chosen arbitrarily or at most with 'fairness' towards everyone in mind. [..]

But head over here for the client and more information:
https://github.com/bfroemel/smallchange.git

Cheers!

/edit: layout corrections, topic clarifications and notice:
Any mining efforts are probably wasted efforts. Imagine this coin to be like a small Bitcoin testnet with it's own set of (untested) rules.

binary clients:
Please (learn to) make your own builds. Then you only need to trust the source code and your understanding of it: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=42465.0

Thanks for the overwhelming interest --> didn't expect that.

updates
2013/04/22  please update before block 15 000

Please include more detailed build instructions for Linux.

It will be dead-by-design, if you leave difficulty adjustment algorithm without changes.

My puter dead cause enaled Java  Cry on Droid.

Sorry for posting this here earlier, but it was the best I could do with big fingers on a smartphone. (Maria like Mongo's fingers!)

Last night I disabled Java, then my screen went black on the laptop. Currently, I'm using the same laptop but with a different monitor. I have been noticing a pink hue during start-up of laptop lately, and have since discovered what I think my problem is. I need a blowjob!  Grin

I thought for sure that disabling Java was the cause. I have also learned that I don't have any restore points on this computer. I thought those were created automatically.

Feel free to call me an idiot.

I thought you were an intelligent person until I saw this:

basicly a scrypt hashing proof of stake coin.

windows binaries:

pools:

the best altcoin multipool is NVC ready
 http://coinotron.com/

 beta:
 http://novapool.zapto.org/

solo mining identical to LTC, but only CGminer, and -e 1 is required

impossible right now - found blocks are rejected, getwork is to slow.
        >>>  investigating a solution cgminer -E 1 <<<

Question: Why is the client telling me that the trust nodes are outdated? This could be a problem, because I cannot download and verify the blockchain. Could someone point me to a fix?
