STILL no QTest, binaryFate.
libqt4-test?? If it still fails I can give you my x86 linux executable. Can we send files by PM? I'm going to bed so it won't be before tomorrow, hope you can sort it out meanwhile!

Monero's privacy and therefore fungibility are MUCH stronger than Bitcoin's. This makes Monero a better candidate to deserve the term "digital cash".

Ok, now my Linux client is stuck on block 20,485 and my windows client is up over 27,400...
I have 12 connections, I've tried re-launching my Linux client with -rescan, tried deleting the block index and re-downloading entirely, nothing works, just sits on 20,485...
EDIT: I re-cloned and re-compiled the client which seems to have fixed it.
-rescan is actually quite useless. -reindex is a lot better. rescan just looks through everything again for transactions. -reindex redownloads the blockchain.

there are some basic requirements to get onto list as acanidate: - not just a concept, have to be working - not a testnet, experiment - decentralized distribution this coin is clearly stated by dev to be just an experiment, and quickly announced "dead by design" by one of the best ALT developers. I can add it in "not a coin" paragraph, to remove confusion, with "experimental , just a test" adnotation. of course, if I get many voices to move it to alive, it will be there. This list has to much influence to be strictly under my command. I want to be more of a trusted moderator than autonomous architect.

allways helpful and informed! THANK YOU! I hope this is an experiment , not a scam. difference is simple. experiment: in case of success, restart the chain. If not, say thank you and leave it. scam: "oh! it works just fine, I never ever thought it would, now its no longer an experiment."

allways helpful and informed! THANK YOU! I hope this is an experiment , not a scam. difference is simple. experiment: in case of success, restart the chain. If not, say thank you and leave it. scam: "oh! it works just fine, I never ever thought it would, now its no longer an experiment." I'd like to comment on the experiment part and the purpose of SmallChange: The coin is research only, I explicitly (from the start) expressed that and included some red text in the first post of this thread. It's going to stay 'research only' unless someone announces it as a real currency (and then its up to the people using it or not). In case I am the one to announce*), there is going to be a fresh start; I certainly will not do this in the next couple of months (years?) because I am very new 'to the scene' and still like to play around + 'get a feeling' for this first. I want to add novelty and solve *real* problems instead of just pseudo-managing another rebranded altcoin. I plan to update the codebase a few times a month and welcome any helpful/useful contribution (which will be duly credited of course; ah yes, and it must survive my(/the community's?) criticism). Other than that: I wanted to devalue some of the "weaker" coin spinoffs by showing that really any (idiot? ) can release a cryptocurrency nowadays. Also a few people expressed that the coin has been/is helpful to let them setup/try out services (e.g., mining pools) and get started with the inner details of cryptocurrencies. So from my part: please expect something slow boiling, maybe useful but probably not. If you have extra resources or have fun experimenting with an alive block chain where you might end up credited as a hashing power contributor or even author: please join - otherwise wait until this is over or becomes something good. btw: the hash rate is currently ridiculously high. Please mine LTCs or something else .. a few KHashes/s are currently (where we are still very close to the original Litecoin code base) really enough... *) what others do with the codebase or blockchain is already out of my hands -- never has been in my hands

I've taken it offline. It's not calculating rewards properly. I'm working on it.

First of all, I want to thank the eight people who tried out this pool. I've learnt a lot from it and have some comments which I will pass on to the community in a following post. I'm sorry the pool failed to reward you with the coins which it should have done. SmallChange is a research coin and my pool was experimental but I still feel guilty about the rewards. I do not intend to take the code of the pool web site any further so I am not inclined to spend a huge amount of effort in working out how many research coins I owe you. So I am taking a simple approach which will err on the side of generosity. There were a total of 46,565 shares generated (the vast majority by myself). Some of these contributed to a block being produced for the pool, the majority didnt. The pool earned 552 coins. Thats 0.01185440 coins per share. Quadruple it, that's 0.04741760 coins per share. For those accounts which have a payout address configured, I will transfer this amount to the address. For those accounts which dont, I have put the website back up and if you want them, register a payout address within the next week and I will transfer the coins. I am ignoring all previous payouts. Once again, thank you for trying the pool out. Ota

Is it dead already?
Nope funnily enough there has been some mining manipulation of the lower difficulty and abandonment when difficulty gets high, but it still chugging along with min 6MH on the network, not bad for an experiment really

TBX & GG also used 15s block targets, so no records there. You should use 10s targets to win he didnt say it was a record, just that it is faster than mincoin (which is garbage anyways)

Could somebody recall the fast-blocks (15 seconds or so) coins that have existed in the past, and if they still exists or why they were not successful?
