661  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC at 9000! on: November 26, 2017, 09:47:24 AM
It went very quickly to 9000. Should we expect a correction and than up to 10.000?
I think we should expect a correction and it wont go up to 10,000$ yet. Probably it will go down again before it goes into bullish trend but the chance of it going into bearish trend for a period of time is very likely, because btc has been on a lengthened bullish run since January already and is nearing it's anniversary. I expect the coming of crypto winter soon and when that time comes, I am sure all of us who holds btc would be tested.
662  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin on Black Friday on: November 25, 2017, 11:59:33 AM
Bitcoin crashed from $1000 to $300 on black Friday four years ago
That crash has not been caused by black Friday but by other factor like what posters above said. I think a crash similar to it is possible because of operation dragonslayer but not now, bitcoin itself is not too shopper in friendly but it is investor wise. It does not choose the time of it's pump and dump, it occurs in random. Still, bitcoin needs to have cheap fees again for it to go back being shopper friendly even if it dumps now as a late sale for black Friday.
663  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will BTC price range be by year’s end? on: November 25, 2017, 10:36:40 AM
Looking for crowdsourced sentiment to get an idea where Bitcoin (BTC) may end up by year’s end.
I think by the end of the year bitcoin would end up to 7000$-8000$ assuming that it will dump because of operation dragonslayer. I would like to see them try to kill bitcoin and make bitcoin cash number one, I think it wouldn't succeed but those manipulators would be happy with cash filling their pockets. If it won't come to pass, I still believe that it will dump a little before the year ends. If you dont know about operation dragonslayer, search about it.
664  Economy / Speculation / Re: Fraud Showing up on Bitcoin Weekly Graphs on: November 25, 2017, 07:01:03 AM
I just saw this forum for the first time, would like an opinion of this persons point of view of Bitcoin and what to expect soon on it...

Been also hearing about this #OperationDragonslayer in twitter of what is going to happen with Bitcoin soon.

What you guys think?

Here is the link: https://www.tradingview.com/chart/BTCUSD/bRJ1ZQNJ-Fraud-Showing-up-on-Bitcoin-Weekly-Graphs/
I think for now that the #OperationDragonslayer is just a rumor giving hope to those who sitll got BCH on their hands but I cannot disregard the trading view in the link. I think it is good as is and if it were to come true, expect btc price falling down again because that will be the effect of OperationDragonslayer according to tweets I have read on twitter. Don't get caught in by the drama just yet, it might just be a FUD and might be real, I can't say for sure. This link might be helpful to you to know more about it. https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/7f43o9/lets_talk_about_operation_dragonslayer/
665  Economy / Speculation / Re: How has this year's action affected your attitude and plans? on: November 25, 2017, 04:38:27 AM
Has it made you move your cashing out price higher? Has it removed the idea of cashing out completely? Are you more of a believer than ever or more nervous than ever?

Gotta say it's all happened considerably faster than I was expecting. My plan was to stay put until 2020 and then have a think and that hasn't changed yet.

I am starting to wonder what the next bear market will look like though. It's easy to savour five figures when everything's on the up. When people can't drop that shit fast enough is when the real mettle is tested.
The current action have greatly affected my plans. Instead of sitting, waiting for another 2 years to recover what I lost when the last bear market occurred, I recovered my investment now with a hefty sum of profit by selling 40% of my stash and what changed in my plan is that instead of selling it all, I will hold what I have left until 2020 and am planning to rebuy more on dips that will occur in the future.
666  Economy / Economics / Re: "Bubbles" Made Bitcoin Stronger on: November 24, 2017, 11:18:40 PM
I don't totally agree that bitcoin is bubble, But I believe its more of a "commodity currency", the demand is so high because people love to use it,  fast and efficient. Bitcoin cost thousands of dollars to mine, thats why its not a pyramid scam or so. It is community driven that's why the price is soo volatile that make it unstoppable, because whether we like it or not its the future of payments.
What OP is referring to here is not pertaining to bitcoin as a whole, but bitcoin's price when it was still manipulated by Chinese before 2016 pump and the crashes that have happened at that time, and the most famous one is mt.Gox crash. It in fact made bitcoin stronger and more resilient, I think without those bitcoin wont be what it is today. The only questions is that if those days are over or not? I believe that price of btc itself now can possibly be a bubble, price is high for now I think.
667  Economy / Economics / Re: Could massive use of Electricity be the end or new high for Bitcoin on: November 24, 2017, 10:37:50 PM
The world will be switching to renewable source of energy before that happens and coals as source of energy will be gone. With all the talk of climate change, most country will adopt to solar, wind, geothermal or hydro as source of energy. Asics will adopt as well to consume less energy with better output. So i think this is not a problem at all.
You are right that it aint a problem at all because of the reasons you stated. When bitcoin becomes mainstream, there might be new mining devices by that time that consumes energy only equivalent to what a household appliance consumes to solve the problem at hand. Also by that time there will be many improvements to the technology of the world, probably by that time someone will invent a more cost energy source.
668  Economy / Economics / Re: Value of bitcoin on: November 24, 2017, 01:27:20 PM
Do you think using bitcoin is better than using actual money?
It is better to store money in bitcoin rather than actual money but in terms of overall usage they are on par with each other. Bitcoin is only better when payments will be done online, while fiat is better when one will use it for real world transactions for now because it is easier to pay with of without the need of internet. Bitcoin also is decentralized, preventing inflation because one cannot add more to supply while fiat can be fabricated, making btc better in terms of money value storage.
669  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin and other currencies on: November 24, 2017, 12:23:26 PM
Hey all,

I’m conducting a research on cryptocurrencies and I’m especially interested in why people choose Bitcoin. And since you are bitcoin users/experts, I thought you would be the best people to ask. It would be great if you could take the time to answer my questions (anonymously), I promise it will take no more than 10 minutes.

Click on the following link to go to the survey - https://uvacommscience.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3lzs2sI13cKH1m5?source=bitcointalk

If you are interested, I could post my main findings here.

Thank you.

I am interested in finding out your main findings as some questions intrigues me as a crypto user. The only thing that I want to ask you is that why in all of the coins out there why ethereum? Why compare bitcoin to ethereum? Is it because ethereum is the top 2 next to it? Generally, they are not the same. Bittcoin is a crypto meant for transactions while eth is a crypto meant for running smart contracts. To sum it up, I think you should just replace the comparison from ethereum to one of the alts.
670  Economy / Economics / Re: where does Africa stand in the cryptocurrency revolution? on: November 23, 2017, 01:34:16 PM
Cryptocurrencies are gradually rising in prominence in Africa. It's being discovered with lots of Africans now becoming merchants. South Africa, Kenya, nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe etc have all keyed into the Bitcoin revolution. The fundamental question however, is, does cryptocurrencies have the power to haul africa on par with the rest of the developed world?
I think cryptocurrencies does not have the power to haul Africa on par with the rest of the developed world but rather it is up to it's citizens whether their country will be on par with the rest of the developed country or not. Bitcoin itself will not aid them to achieve that goal but it will surely bring fort benefits to them like how other people from other countries benefit from using bitcoin itself.  It will just somehow help them improve their way of sending money to their beloved ones because as said by someone who posted above, lots of Africans use remittances.
671  Economy / Economics / Re: impacts off cryptocurrency on: November 23, 2017, 12:33:28 PM
what are the social and economic impacts cryptocurrencies have ?
Somehow cryptocurrencies help improve economic status of a country by opening up opportunities to citizens all over the world to make money. It also somehow benefits governments since they can gain tax for every conversion of bitcoin done in services that aids in btc to fiat even if only a little. It does not have that much of a social impact though but it connects users all over the world via forums.
how will this affect third world and poor countries because of their limited access to internet and modern technology?
To sum it up, third world and poor countries won't enjoy the full benefits of bitcoin and crypto if they dont upgrade their internet and technology of citizens.
672  Economy / Economics / Re: do you know about improper use of bitcoin? on: November 23, 2017, 11:25:42 AM
according to different observation i think few ways are available for abusing bitcoins transections such as Technical weakness , Greedy peoples ro dishonest people , proper management. i would like to describe above mentioned quotatin in briefly
1. technical weakness: we know its a peer to peer transection system throgh confirmed way. within a few second a dishonest  person can get more money by fast  clicking when submit second payment of different recipient.
2. proper management: there is so many lack of proper management of human or account holders. so many hackers want to hack system for getting money because bitcoins holder don't have any insurance like bank account holders. even government don't follow rules and regulation for virtual currency holders.
So what you think about it ?
I think you are rubbing it in the wrong way OP. Instead of calling it improper use of bitcoin, call it misuse because it ain't improper if they used it for transactions. About you first point, it is technically impossible for now to gain more money fast by submitting double payment with different recepeint unless you are talking about double spending. Your second point though is right but hacking the system is impossible, I would instead call it as hacking others' wallet that will be technically be the same as pickpocketing. Since users doesn't have insurance, all they need to do is tto make their wallets secure.
673  Economy / Economics / Re: Might not be a bad idea to sell off 5% of your stash.. on: November 23, 2017, 09:46:14 AM
And put up a buy at 4-8 fold under the current price.

BTC goes up and up from here you don't see that 5% jump.

BTC crashes as it likes to do, you seriously increase your position. Furthermore support is added at lower levels.
It ain't a bad move to sell 5% of your portfolio now then set buy to your intended re-entry point. You are right that by doing so, you won't regret if it goes up or down. Still, it is better to take your capital and take some profit if you can, then leave some and just hodl it. That way you can hold it without worrying of the future price. It is also the safest approach if you are doubting bitcoin that is. If you have trust in it, just hodl and do not sell until you have gained hefty sum of profit already.
674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how to make ETH on bitcointalk as jr. member on: November 22, 2017, 01:52:04 PM
even better.
What I meant is, I dont have time for translations and stuff like that, posting is ok. Do you need to post about the bounty or post whatever?
You don't need to post about bounty when you have joined their signature campaign. All you need to do is wear their signature assigned for your rank, then apply to their signature campaign, and post whatever you want in sections allowed. Just always be mindful of sections that are prohibited, you also need to be mindful about your post count as most signature bounty campaign require a minimum post in order to get stakes for payment.
675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin can cross $300+ in next 3 years? on: November 22, 2017, 11:42:50 AM
Hello,

As too many coins in the market, I'm confused which one to hold which is cheap like $1 and can cross $300+ in next 3 years.

Any suggestions?
It is very hard to accurately predict what coin will cross $300 in the next 3 years therefore investing on coins with potential and diversifying it into them is the best bet. Invest on coins suggested by some users above, IMO some of them are good and got chance to achieve what you are looking for. I would also like to suggest waves to you OP. Like the mentioned coins of others above, this coin got a huge chance of showing the same pattern of bullish trend ethereum have done in the past.
676  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you ❤️ crypto??? on: November 22, 2017, 10:41:43 AM
I love the way crypto can connect people from a different culture.
With crypto you don’t need bank account who needs al your private data.
Just make a wallet and you can receive payments from everyone in the world.

but my question is why do you love crypto?
Why are you interested?

If you like please take a look at https://www.blunner.com
I also love crypto because of the reasons you said, but more than that, I love it because it gives me convenience on online transactions since I don't want a centralized middleman meddling on my transactions whenever I pay someone for their goods and service. The same goes when I receive payments. I am interested in the further development of crypto because blockchain is an innovative tech that will surely be very useful in the future and before it becomes mainstream, I want to learn it's structure and how it works. I am also interested in seeing blockchain's development every time a good coin goes for sale in an ICO.
677  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: altcoins opinion on: November 22, 2017, 08:55:21 AM
Hi all,

I have been holding onto bitcoin, ethereum, and litecoin since earlier this year and made some profits but recently have been researching and getting into other altcoins. Just wanted to get some opinions. (I took $5k of profits and reinvested into the below altcoins).

Would you do anything different?

$1400 worth of NEO
$1200 worth of LISK
$1000 worth of QTUM
$800 worth of POWR
$600 worth of OMG

All in your stash seems good and is profitable except powr. If I were you, I would change it into waves, I think this particular coin has the most potential for growth by next year. With the incoming updates, waves would not only run tokens but will also be the one of the fastest blockchain the cryptoworld will ever see if updates are implemented successfully without fail. Knowing it's devs they will try their best to pull it off, Sasha Ivanov, the creator of waves is also as trustworthy and has good reputatoon like ETH's creator, Vitalik Buterin. It might follow ETH trends so invest on it while it's cheap.
678  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which all are the good coins for day to day trading on: November 21, 2017, 02:11:18 PM
I already invested some $ for long term investment but i want to start day to day trading so please suggest me Which all are the good coins for day to day trading
There aren't any good coins for day to day trading after all alts are meant to be held in order for one to gain a hefty sum of gain in here. If you want, doing it on a coin then changing it every other day would be your best bet but you need to consider the volatility of the coin you will short trade. Also, you might also consider day trading only on days when top alts and btc is very volatile, although it is a very hard thing to do. If done wrongly, one might end up holding it for long term.
679  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO list on: November 21, 2017, 12:45:46 PM
Hello,

I need your opinion guys, about ICO top 10 list..
Which 10 is bringing more benefits and it worth it to advertise on them...

Thank for everyone ... for any help or advise
I would give you three ICO that you can research about. First is spectre.ai, the one in my signature. You can find out more about it via clicking the links embedded there. The second ICO I recommend to you is ditcoin, it is a coin that is like bitcoin which seeks to provide a platform for everyone to use in e-commerce. You can find out more about it by searching their ann thread. Lastly, there is adbank. This ICO might not sound too nice because of it's bank cliche, but it is worth spending time with.
680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin loses all its value what will happen to altcoins ? on: November 21, 2017, 11:46:03 AM
Do you think altcoins can survive without bitcoin leading the way ?
will the bitcoiners that lose faith go into altcoins or will they
just cash out and take profits ?

I personally see this altcoin growth going hand in hand with the growth of bitcoin
even though some of the altcoins already offer some exciting new possibilities

Bitcoin losing all value in the near future is very unlikely to happen but altcoins can survive without btc leading the way. All they need to have is the buying demand to keep their prices moving. Altcoins and bitcoin are different with each other and have different uses, therefore alts are not always dependent on btc price. There will come a time that they will move on their own, not being led by btc. To be exact, altcoin growth is not going hand on hand with the growth of bitcoin but rather they are naturally moving that way independent of bitcoin.
