661  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] 4x Aluminum Casascius Tokens on: April 26, 2023, 03:52:44 PM
Are these sold for good now? Maybe not the prettiest among the casascius (lol), but indeed a nice entrypoint.
If there are any still available, please shoot me a message, I'd take them!

Sounds like OP got these a while back, which means they are almost assuredly real. Alibaba, of course, sold fakes for some time that look indistinguishable (maybe still do, need to scam hunt on there it’s been a mn).

Woulda been awesome if Casascius had sold me the bag of these he still had listed for sale on his website back in 2015 that I placed an order for (since it was still showing as purchasable) and never heard back. Only $11,000 lost in todays dollars  Roll Eyes

(Btw I think I’ve got a spare to give you, shoot me a reminder in a few days)
Aww, that would be most generous, ChiBi. If you ever have something going to MJ, maybe you can include it in that parcel.
Feel you on the lost coins there. Better not to think too much about it.
Side question regarding the alibaba-fakes: Ist it still possible to distinguish them for an expert? Maybe weight ora closer look with a lense or even microsope?

If that's the case, glad to take you up on your offer @Fortify and get 2 or 3 of these.
662  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will you do with bitcoin? on: April 26, 2023, 05:36:41 AM
Hello guys!
Today I was thinking about Bitcoin and where it will finally go up. And I came to the conclusion that I don't really understand what is the right thing to do with Bitcoin after it will "go to the moon".

So I wanted to ask you all, what are you planing to do with bitcoin when it will go to 70k, 80k etc. Are you planing to sell it or you will keep holding it?
If you will sell it, at what price are you planning to do it?

Think about it as any other "reasonable" investment. Stocks, real estate, gold... Unless that's your main source of income, people usually don't buy to resell when it increases in value.
It is actually a way to diversify your wealth against several risk factors, creating a solid portfolio and maybe a retirement plan.
What usually happens with these portfolios: They change, maybe swapping one asset to another, cashing out some, or adding on some.

I personally believe, if you understand the foundations of Bitcoin, you would never want to sell all/most of your holdings, unless you are really in a financial crises that doesn't leave you any other choice.
663  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin overshadowed by economic lie on: April 26, 2023, 05:30:42 AM
Bitcoin exist for over a decade yet there’s only few percentage of the human population is involved on Bitcoin investment. Not because that the majority of people is not aware nor exposed but because they are the victim of economic lie such disinformation towards Bitcoin through negative propaganda of Banks.

We are all being feed of wrong information of economic norms by the billionaires that benefiting the current system. Bitcoin is the best asset to invest in terms of price growth on long term period yet people are still scared to touch due the wrong information given by the main stream media.

In the country that I live, Bitcoin has a stigma of being a scam because our own government warn the public to not engage on Bitcoin investment due to a lot of scam involves it and the volatility is high. Most of the people here including the old professional don’t dare to touch it despite Bitcoin already has good price history.
While I agree with the fundamental sentiment of your worries, a few points to consider:
- the current age of around 14 years for Bitcoin may seem long, however it's not compared to any other payment method or store of value. Adoption for completely new technologies tends to take longer than one may thing. Mainly because the original structures are strong and working and people tend to be very inflexible when it comes to completely new things they are not familiar with or that are kind of hard to grasp in the beginning
- The general sentiment of Bitcoin in mainstream media may still be slightly negatively biased, however more and more you can hear and read reasonable voices on the topic of Bitcoin - usally coming from those that did indeed spend some time for real research about it.
- Bitcoin does not have a massive marketing department - every little bit of adoption comes either from a real need for a new payment and/or store-of-value-soluton or because a company or individual is convinced that Bitcoin does indeed provide something, that is not achiveable with fiat etc.
- I believe the stigma of Bitcoin as a scam is slowly but surely disappearing. Yes, it still exists but there are a lot of resources now clearly showing it is the opposite of a scam - a true revolution in digital trust that is.
664  Economy / Speculation / Re: FTX recovered $7.3B in Assets and is considering restarting! on: April 26, 2023, 05:14:16 AM
What the actual f... Recovering funds: Great, I am happy for the people affected, hopefully they get some of their coins back.
Regarding reopening FTX: Are they serious? A name as shit-stained as FTX is... and now they want to come back. Cannot believe it.

Btw, if you were like me and wondered if this may be fake news - seems like it's real: https://www.reuters.com/technology/bankrupt-crypto-exchange-ftx-has-recovered-73-bln-assets-attorney-2023-04-12/

I truely wonder f they at least consider a re-branding. The big scam-whales in the background and the scam-tech (software) maybe even with the original backdoors for private profit may stay the same.
But at least they have to change the front-fassade to get any chance at a comeback with lots and lots of clueless new customers.
665  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] 2019 CryptoImperator "Magic Internet Money" #006 to #010 on: April 25, 2023, 02:44:57 PM
Are these loaded?
I am quite certain all CI coins were released loaded.

Nice to see a few up for auction. The only CI coin funded with 0.005 that I know of. MS69 PL ratings, yummy.
Haven't seen much from him recently, hope to see some new designs soon.

669  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is going down. on: April 24, 2023, 06:47:16 AM
Hello everyone.
As you can see, bitcoin is going down and I believe that it will keep falling.
As I explained in my last posts, this Bitcoin rise wasn't sustainable. There are literally no reasons for Bitcoin to go up now.

So I want to remain you guys again that right now is not the time to buy bitcoin.
Inflation is still high, interest rates are still getting higher, FED is not planning to stop any time soon, and the economy is suffering. All these reasons won't let Bitcoin rise from the ashes YET. But I believe we will see the end of it this year, probably in Q4.

So I recommend holding on to your cash/stablecoins right now and waiting for the signals to buy Bitcoin.
And as always, the best signals to look for: FED start cutting rates. When this will happen, it will mean that economy will start recovering soon so it's a great time to buy anything you want before crypto and the stock market will go up.

Have a nice day and take care.

There are always some Nostradamuses around I guess.
The thing about these kind of advice is, you’ll easily find as many arguments for the contrary. One of the best advice regarding when to buy bitcoin is still dollar cost averaging over several months or even years. You can go into advanced mode and adjust the amount you invest each time depending on whether prices went up or down recently.
Anything else will make you very vulnerable to an almost unpredictable amount of short term factors influencing the current price of bitcoin.
670  Economy / Collectibles / Re: LuckyFool Coin release update on: April 24, 2023, 05:36:17 AM
No worries about a slight delay, it’s great that you keep us in the loop.
And yeah, if it’s a one man army project, getting 40+ packages ready can be surpisingly much work if you are not used to it, especially if it’s additional to your main occupation. Looking forward to the coins.
671  Other / Politics & Society / Re: BRICS is a concern for all on: April 23, 2023, 05:10:19 PM
Who here thinks the BRICS new world order is the wrong direction for that part of the world to move in?
There really are some democracy concerns on this yet these countries are more or less selling off their freedoms of the people in the name of economy

thoughts anyone?

and yes BRICs will impact crypto as well
The further you dive into world politics and the global dynamics of world and individual (country based) economics you’ll see there are no black and white answers. BRICs catching up (and in some areas overtaking) was long overdue and has benefitted millions or even billions of people.
Some of that success, especially in regards to India and China is based on huge sacrificies for freedom and human rights in general. Ofc it’s a concerning topic, but at the same time western „democratic“ countries struggle with similar isssues, so I would be very careful to look at these things via a simplifying-lense.
It’s tempting, because it seemingly explains the world situation in an esier to grasp way, but ultimately fails to describe reality.

Last note, BRICs do already impact crypto, yes, but a lot is still subject to change.
672  Local / Presse / Re: [21.04.2023] Regeln für BTC & Co.: EU-Parlament besiegelt Aus für anonyme Krypto on: April 23, 2023, 04:55:15 PM
Oha.

673  Economy / Collectibles / Re: My Cold Keys Just Got Swiped! All Cold Kuntz!! on: April 23, 2023, 04:44:49 PM

I meant more so for me. But also funded crypto coins going forward shouldn’t be a thing. More to that belief .:I’m currently working on yet another physical btc scam thread (I have more research to do, but I’d be shocked if it’s not from what I’ve read so far. It’s the longest and most convenient word salad white paper I’ve ever read by far, and I’ve read many. It’s a token/physical ).

I have spoken Wink

Yes the Shitkey and Titan saga have definitely left a very bad light on our loaded collectables and for people looking from the outside it sure does not look positive at all.

However I am sure we will bounce back just like when Alitin hit way in the back then era....hopefully now as well.

Ty looking forward for your next expose! Thanks for taking the time to weed out the bad apples in our sector!
I second that. You could also argue that for every shitproject ending up as a scam, the valid ones will become more valueable.
I am just curious and hopeful at the same time to see what happens with new crypto-ATH maybe end 2024 in our collectors space. Feels like things have been stalling a bit recently in regards of new peeps discovering this niche.
674  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Inactive BTC whale transfers $8M worth Bitcoin After 10 years Inactivity on: April 22, 2023, 05:11:44 AM
Someone just got out of prison after 10 years and then cash out his stash, Lol.

But who knows, your guess is as good as mine, maybe he just stumbled upon a old laptop and then see the private key and mnemonic phrase. And that is a long HODL though and it's just surprising that someone will suddenly move it when we are not even in the bull run.
The prison scenario seems like one of the more-likely ones to me. There are 100 other possibilites, from someone finding an old harddrive with the keys to being in need of some quick cash-flow for an unexpected reason.
However 280 BTC isn't a massive amount that would have any huge impact on the market at all.
Also, regarding your question about cashing out in the current market situation: I don't think the market is THAT bad right now, it's still up over 75% from recent lows, so if you know you need the cash within the next 6 - 12 months, now seems like a reasonable time to cash-out (even though I think going doller-cost-average over a period of a few months is usuall the better way).
675  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-03-23]Thailand Bans Use of Cryptocurrencies as a Method of Payment on: April 22, 2023, 04:45:09 AM
It said the curbs on cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin for commercial transactions are in line with regulations in Europe, the U.K., South Korea and Malaysia. "

The Thai government didn't give any genuine reason why they had to make such a policy. They don't even have personal experience or proof that cryptocurrencies harm or will harm their economy. The only reason is that they want to copy the policy of other nations. I have closely observed that most of the nations that are restricting cryptocurrencies do it because their colonial masters or some other bigger economy adopted the same policy. Very soon before any country will access loans from the IMF or World Bank one of the major criteria will be to ban or restrict cryptocurrency transactions.
Just a quick note in this case: Thailand was never colonized, but I guess this still doesn't necessarily mean they are uninfluenced by other countries' way of legislation.

Still, anyone with insight what is about to happen after the ongoing current eletion? Quite curious what we can expect in regards of crypto regulation in Thailands future.
676  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] Peeled Coins (PBC & Recalescence) on: April 22, 2023, 04:39:23 AM

678  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [SALE] 1HoDLCLUB 1mBTC coin "Fuck Fiat Money" Collection on: April 22, 2023, 04:19:42 AM
Since they are a EURO mockup, you should send one of these coins to the EU parliament (with a huge FU-EU-sticker included). These bricks just voted in favour of a ridiculous legislation coming into effect in around 18 months.
It includes the total survelleince of any transaction made with crypto, energy-emission control for any crypto-coins and assets and more shenanigans completely missing the reality and possibilites of crypto. Oh well, nothing new, just needed to let off some steam, sorry for that.

Time to slowly but surely continue replacing Euro with Crypto. Wink
679  Local / Presse / [21.04.2023] Regeln für BTC & Co.: EU-Parlament besiegelt Aus für anonyme Krypto on: April 22, 2023, 04:08:37 AM
https://www.heise.de/news/Regeln-fuer-Bitcoin-Co-EU-Parlament-besiegelt-Aus-fuer-anonyme-Kryptozahlungen-8974491.html

Any estimate on how much you are looking to spend for a sealed roll? Can reach out to a contact who would probably be interested in a good deal for one of these. Can continue via DM if you want.
ISO is new to me, too, always nice add-on a good abbr. to my vocabulary. Wink
