6601  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: September 26, 2021, 01:36:45 PM
Do not use .com version. Use .onion version.
I think it's time to totally switch to Chipmixer .onion version and use clearnet version only as an entry point that is redirecting to .onion version (I think someone suggested this few months ago).
6602  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Krux DIY Hardware Wallet on: September 26, 2021, 01:14:18 PM
I think I will actually build one Smiley
Please note that Kruh wallet can't function as normal hardware wallet, but more like a cosigner in a multisignature setup,
so every time you turn it off from power you will wipe his memory, and you will have to import your key every time you turn it on.
Other thing that I don't like is the fact that code is new, not time tested and there could be some hidden bugs even in this simple code.
This wallet has good and bad sides, it's very cheap and I think it serves great purpose for multisig device.

Here are some images and videos how Krux works in real life:

6603  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: [LIST] Open Source Hardware Wallets on: September 26, 2021, 01:01:39 PM
COLDCARD code can definitely be reproducible see here https://bitcoinbinary.org/
Maybe it is reproducible now, but I wrote that post in August and I think that you released your website one month later, after you donated yourself for creating it.
We talked more about that subject in different topic, and I have to say that you made terribly bad selfish move when you changed and removed Open Source license from Coldcard.
Is your code 100% made by you or you used code parts from other open source hardware wallets like Trezor?

I've tested this, and I can't reproduce this problem: I installed Metamask in Firefox and Chrome (in a VM), and restored my session on chipmixer.com. In all instances the deposit address was the same.
Are you sure you followed all ''instructions'' ?  Cheesy

EDIT:
I tested myself in two browsers Brave and Firefox with installed Metamask extension, and I was not able to reproduce this problem.
All restored sessions had the same addresses.
6605  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New BTC On-Chain Metrics site - beta testers on: September 25, 2021, 01:45:05 PM
To be clear...I am NOT trying to compete with Glassnode or LookIntoBitcoin. These are awesome sites and I have learned a lot from them.
Modestly, I would add that even in this beta stage the website has several plots comparable to GlassNode tier 3 charts.
I know you didn't try to compete with them, but they have similar options like your website and I had to compare them with something that I actually used before.

It is not a concern that a handful of people are opinion leaders on on-chain analytics?
It can be a concern if you are looking just one source, but I am always checking multiple sources to help me make some decision or prediction.
For example you can clearly see a difference is some metrics of those two websites we talked about.

Don't be too surprised to see an article, maybe including open-source code.
I am always looking forward to see new open source tool like this, so please update here when this is released.
6606  Economy / Reputation / Re: Someone offers MERIT in the bounty community group on: September 25, 2021, 12:38:47 PM
I don't visit those places, so I haven't seen it. Any idea how big the "market" for Merit sales is?
Do you really want to know the truth Neo LoyceV?  Cool

6607  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: AirGapped Hardware Wallets on: September 25, 2021, 12:20:29 PM
According to the website, coldcard is only for bitcoin. Don't it require any upgrade?
You can upgrade Coldcard with SD card but you are limited to mk version you are using.
They are now working on mk4 version, that would probably mean that you can't use that firmware on mk3 or mk2 Coldcard wallets.

For instance; supporting LN may require an upgrade?
Lightning Network is not supported on any hardware wallet, and I doubt it will be supported any time soon.

In case of Safepal, upgrade is optional.
Safepal is cheap Chinese closed source junk and I would never use it for anything.
Simple checking of firmware changelog I can see bunch of important PIN and security changes, meaning you have to upgrade to use it:
https://safepalsupport.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360047263792

Looks like Ledger and Trezor are airgapped.
They are not true airgapped devices, otherwise both of this manufacturers would write huge bragging AIR-GAPPED letters on their website, especially those amateurs from French village.
If there is USB connection there is always a chance of some leak or using malware cables that are connecting to computer with internet connection.

Suggestion: add next to each device an info on the type of airgap it uses: QR/Cameras, SD cards, etc.... (not sure of other ways).
Thanks, that is a good idea.
I think QR codes are better for security, but NOT if you are using some mambo jambo hidden QR codes like Safepal is doing.

6608  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Re: Best wallet for Android? on: September 25, 2021, 11:44:10 AM
I would not use any android wallet as my main wallet but more for some pocket money and small transactions, but if I had to choose I would go with some open source wallet.
Electrum is standard desktop spv wallet for Bitcoin but I don't like their mobile version, Mycellium wallet is full of adds, and I would better go for BlueWallet.
Samourai wallet is fine if you want to have more privacy but you will still need to run your own full node to be able to send Coinjoin transactions, and maybe the best and safest option would be to have combination of hardware wallet and mobile wallet.

6609  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] ChipMixer.com - Bitcoin mixer / Bitcoin tumbler - mixing reinvented on: September 25, 2021, 11:17:03 AM
You can't blame anyone if you are using old Tor Browser with bunch of extensions like android emulator and google translation... but wait for Chipmixer support to reply.
Latest Tor browser is 10.5.6, that means you are more than a year behind with many security updates, and we all said many times that Tor V3 is suggested and recommended much more than a clearnet version.
Note that it is possible in some cases for scammers to use exact same website and domain but just change receiving address.
One thing I am not sure, how or if Tor works in China, and if they are using vpn because they have to.
6610  Economy / Reputation / Re: Someone offers MERIT in the bounty community group on: September 25, 2021, 10:24:54 AM
Selling Merit isn't really against the rules, unless the seller is a Merit source.
It's not against the rules, but there is whole new business created around abusing and selling merits in telegram, fiverr, playerup and similar publicly available websites, and that is not exactly what we could call a black markets.
I remember few years ago someone reported trade involving merits and sexual favors, now that is a dirty market  Shocked

6612  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Politicians in US on: September 24, 2021, 11:13:00 AM
Few more politicians added to the list of Bitcoin owners/supporters and interesting thing that all of them are republicans so far, including previously mentioned Cynthia Lummis and Patrick Toomey:
- Michael Waltz
- Michael McCaul (holding GBTC in children's trust)
- Jefferson Van Drew (holding $100K-$250K Grayscale Trust)
6613  Economy / Economics / Re: CHINA Banning bitcoin: PBOC Says All Crypto-Related Transactions Are Illegal on: September 24, 2021, 10:53:16 AM
This all reminds me on those funny south park cartoon editing for Chinese ban of Bitcoin, but it is nothing more than standard weekend price manipulation.
Good thing about this is that power of Chinese fud is getting weaker and weaker every time, until the time when it will die totally.

6614  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [LEARN] Phishing Quizzes - Beginners & Experts on: September 24, 2021, 10:44:21 AM
Learning about Phishing protection is very important, and sadly people are still falling for scams like they sent coins to fake bitcoin.org website few days ago... so I am reactivating this campaign.

Pass at least TWO phishing Quizzes from this topic, post screenshot evidence and you will receive merits from me.
6615  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BTC365.com SCAM me 20Mbtc on: September 24, 2021, 10:26:42 AM
BTC365 updated terms are totally ridiculous but I guess they have the right to make up whatever rules they want, problem is they won't have any customers left to play.
Imagine if you can arrest someone and take all his money without any trial, investigation or evidence, just because you SUSPECT he is guilty for some crime...  Roll Eyes

Stick it on your front door? Raise the value of your house. Home improvement! "This one bedroom bungalow is worth $1 billion as it includes a bitcoin private key."
Nice, but you still need to play around those holes when you start adding seed words.
My next visit for hardware shop is going to be very interesting, examining everything made from stainless steel, and asking many strange questions along the way  Wink
6617  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: September 24, 2021, 09:47:34 AM
But I am wondering when we (the Croatian local) will get a decent new newbie who will start his journey on Bitcointalk and decide to stick around...
Maybe we need to make some posters, stickers and advertisements for attracting young new ₿lood for local forum  Cheesy

Based on Ratimov's explanation, I agree that Ninjastic.space should give better results, though I wonder if there is a way to exclude deleted posts from the results.
I don't think this is possible now, unless TryNinja adds this option for exclusion of deleted posts.
6618  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: List of useful Bitcoin block explorers on: September 24, 2021, 09:21:39 AM
Update: I have removed wallet explorer. com because it got exposed as an anti-privacy blockexplorer
All explorers can be anti-privacy unless they are self-hosted, open source like mempool.space and btc-rpc-explorer, so maybe you should add those new categories for updated rating of explorers.
Running explorer on Tor is better than clearnet but Chainalysis and government agencies are also on Tor so you can't really hide there.

It is generally recommended to insert own addresses at Blockexplorers only via VPN.
Sure, this can confuse trackers, but VPN can leak and all your traffic is collected in one data center that can easily be located or end up in five, nice or fourteen eyes countries.
6619  Other / Meta / Re: [TELEGRAM] Yet Another BitcoinTalk Notification BOT (merits, mentions, topics,+) on: September 24, 2021, 08:17:33 AM
@TryNinja is it possible to add one more tracking notification feature to Ninjastic website or for supernotifier telegram bot?
I would like to track and be notified whenever someone posts specific word (account, address, etc.), for example, I give command to bot or website to track phrase ''qwert1234'' and whenever someone writes this in forum I would get optional notification.
I hope you understand what I wanted to say.
