6621  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Burning of the United States Flag on: November 29, 2016, 05:13:51 PM
Why is it illegal to burn a dollar, but not the flag of the United States?
Burning the flag should be prosecuted under article III, section 3, clause 1 of the Consitution; Treason.

Black Lives Matter protesters burning the flag:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uZNscX-Dvw

It's quite simple.  Flag desecration laws have been contested at the level of the Supreme court whereas currency mutilation/defacement laws have not.  It may be that the Supreme court will also see that as an inalienable right give the appropriate circumstance.

The 1st. amendment does not protect everything, and that can be easily overturned. I should then be able to burn down the Federal Reserve and the dollar because it's devalued and causes suffering.

The 1st amendment codifies a few basic rights and restricts gov't from passing laws interfering with such rights.  It acts as a guarantee of your basic freedoms which you already had anyway.  It doesn't protect everything but I didn't say it did!  It protects freedom of speech, press, religion and lawful assembly; it can't be easily overturned.
There are a couple of problems with you  burning down the Federal reserve and the dollar.  Firstly, the Federal Reserve is a system which you might have trouble igniting and secondly, most dollars are held as electronic digits on computer systems nationally and the notes in circulation are distributed widely across the country in citizens' wallets, purses, cash registers and mattresses.

If you wanted to burn a small stack of dollar bills in a controlled fashion to make a political statement, you would probably escape punishment under the currency defacement/mutilation laws since you are exercising a protected right.

N.B. I am not a lawyer.  The advice given above is written for entertainment purposes only.

6623  Economy / Reputation / B1tUnl0ck3r account sold or hacked? on: November 29, 2016, 01:07:55 PM

B1tUnl0ck3r began spewing nearly-incoherent, (due to the poor use of the English language) hate-like, tripe into the politics and society thread today.  I'm not reporting the speech itself as I realize the user has a right to express itself freely but I am report this behaviour because it is not in keeping with previous posts from this user.  I hope it will serve as a warning to anyone who might have been dealing with B1tUnl0ck3r to use caution.

“The hard fact is that sometimes we must make decisions we do not like. We make them because they are right, right in the sense that the law and the Constitution, as we see them, compel the result and so great is our commitment to the process that, except in the rare case, we do not pause to express distaste for the result, perhaps for fear of undermining a valued principle that dictates the decision. This is one of those rare cases.
Though symbols often are what we ourselves make of them, the flag is constant in expressing beliefs Americans share, beliefs in law and peace and that freedom which sustains the human spirit. The case here today forces recognition of the costs to which those beliefs commit us. It is poignant but fundamental that the flag protects those who hold it in contempt.

Canada drama is brewing..
Castanet - Kelowna News - Trudeau statement backlash

I seen that news earlier today and how our Prime Minister recently met with his son. (current leader)

I don't know i guess i sort of see the problem.
If the old guy was responsible for human rights violations then i guess our PM should have kept his mouth shut.

Our current PM said he was sad to hear the news etc.
Which caused people all over to get pissed off at him.

Well we'll get the same shit when George Bush Sr. dies and our PM expresses his condolences.  You can't win.
It'll all blow over by tomorrow anyway.  Oh look! Another tsunami!!

6626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How bitcoin is good for enterprise ? on: November 27, 2016, 02:03:01 AM
it's for university presentation (the professor is a banker)

I should focus on advantages of bitcoin in actual companies and for new business.

Banks aren't really looking at Bitcoin per se but they are interested in blockchain technology.  The Bank of England released a study concerning a Central Bank Digital Currency this past summer.  Here is a link to that paper.

Just a few thoughts you might expand on:

 1) Bitcoin transactions are relatively cheap as compared to the current banking network alternatives (though I'm sure it would translate into more profit for banks to reduce their transaction costs)

 2)  Transactions can be settled much faster than debit and credit transactions.  Typically, settlement from debit and credit cards takes 3 days whereas settlement from a Bitcoin transaction can be completed within an hour (for an average of 6 confirmations to occur).  Note that I am writing about settlement; the authorization of a payment with a credit or debit card takes mere seconds.

 3) Safe, secure and accessible record keeping (which doesn't have a single point of failure) is done for you by others competing for the block reward.

 4) You can join and leave the network as you wish and those records will be kept for you by others and will accessible by you when you wish to return.

 5) International payments are much easier and less costly since inter-currency exchange rates should not apply. (thought the banks love an excuse for those service charges)

Maybe others will weigh in on this discussion.  I am by no means an expert.
I have used SWIFT to transfer a rather large sum of money to Europe and it took a week to arrive and cost me about 2.5% exchange rate conversion charges plus a $50 bank service charge.  It ended up at the wrong branch and it hadn't been converted to the local currency!  That was my first and last experience with SWIFT.

Dear ALL,

I was struggling some days ago..
I need to make a presentation about bitcoin in Enterprise...l read a lot about it but I couldn't find in google how bitcoin is good for companies ?

It's good for individuals (anonymous, low taxes, fast) but for companies (Banks, ITs, Assurances...)?

regards,

Why do you need to make this presentation?  Is it for an employer, school or just general interest?  Do you have an outline of what your presentation should focus on?  What type of people will you be presenting to?

6628  Economy / Reputation / Re: My account was hacked on: November 27, 2016, 12:23:35 AM
damnit i cant just make a new account after going through this the scammer used all my details hacked my email accessed my blockchain wallet took all my funds and appearently i was doxed and police were called on my name so i am not sure if i should even bother with bitcoins again

WTF?  You doxed yourself here.  Or was this where the hacker took over your life?  Why did it take you two and a half years to think about regaining control of the account?

Also CrashX has a negative rating for you around the same time 2014-07-07 which says:

Mike (MICHAEL DZEDZEJ) is a Scammer.

Made a loan of 0.35 BTC back in 03-04-14, told me that he should have it back within a week or 2. But that never happened. Been over 4 months now and nothing.

So he is a CLEAR SCAMMER.

but he hasn't appear much in 2.5 years either.   Where have you two been?

I'm not sure you could prove your account was hacked.

6629  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info removed wallet nicknames, and I can't find my wallet id now on: November 26, 2016, 11:30:42 PM
Thanks, I got in.

Glad I could help.  Next time it happens, enter your nickname and the password which should result in the e-mail with your identifier being sent (even if the password is incorrect).  By the way, I'm not affiliated with Blockchain.info in any way.
6630  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info removed wallet nicknames, and I can't find my wallet id now on: November 26, 2016, 07:46:12 PM
My wallet is https://blockchain.info/wallet/shimon-boris

This used to automatically expand into a url with a wallet-id. But now it doesn't and I can't login. I tried to get my wallet-id by email, but because I have two wallets on blockchain, the automated system sent me the id to the other wallet I have.

So now -- blackchain.info support people: please email me the wallet id. Thanks.

check your e-mail now.  don't use the link but your wallet identifier at the bottom of the email instead.
6631  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 2 PSU mining rigs - risks? on: November 26, 2016, 05:37:52 PM
As long as you don't use multiple PSUs to feed the same GPU, I don't think there is an issue.  There are some configurations which will cause big problems.

The say that every US President knows whether aliens exist or not.

you think trump will tell us as the first president if there are Aliens if there are really any??

Sometimes I wonder if Americans think there is intelligent life outside of America.    Why would the USA be privy to such information?  You watch too many movies!

I would imagine the Canadian Prime Minister would be the first person to know since alien life forms would surely realize that Canada is the friendliest nation on earth and they would line up for universal healthcare and other forms of social welfare to help them get a start to their new life.  If Trump plays his cards right, Trudeau might even let him in on the secret.

6634  Economy / Services / Re: Find me this product #2 on: November 26, 2016, 02:00:17 PM
I need to find a product online and the product should be shipped internationally. Product can be found here (what the guy is wearing) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIfWpLecOOE  ( you could see it at 0:04 and also at 0:35 from different angles) . I probably won't be paying that much If you are expecting something huge so If you find the product , better contact me to negotiate on a price instead of sending me and asking for a price .

6635  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Duterte is most genius leader in the world agree? on: November 26, 2016, 01:24:07 PM
The book of art of war duterte knows it that is why he play in international arena in the whole world. To get what he wants for the better future of the Philippines. Unlike before Philippines will be soon rise in the sky. I hope people in the Philippines listen to this leader. I hope they will not corrupt in their respective agency.
I do not believe that such brutal methods can be used to build a new state. Happiness and joy on the blood can not build. I'm afraid that instead of the new state he will build a dictatorship.

if you really do your homework about politics and history, You will realize that your point is just for fantasy and not reality. There is no successful state/ empire that rise without the sacrifice of blood or dealing a war against other.. At first, it is brutal but at the end you will see the good result, Even in the bible, there is a lot of war occurred to make one kingdom become successful. So i think there is no wrong on Duterte's move, Let's just wait for the result

Here is just one skyline in China over the last couple of decades:

Shanghai 1990

Shanghai 2010

This is one of many impressive skylines dotting China but war isn't responsible for this.  The state relinquished a modicum of control over managers of production and private ownership in the early 80's which caused a productivity boom in China due to an influx of foreign investment however, I don't know how you define "success".  Duterte has already alienated the US and the EU so if you're looking for the Phillipines to "rise in the sky", I don't think you mean monetarily?

That is an amazing analysis.  Did you type that all by hand or did you write some code to push it out?
6637  Other / Off-topic / Re: SHA 256 - 32 or 64 byte hash? on: November 25, 2016, 01:04:30 PM
^^
Absolutely.  What Franky says is spot on.  I thought I might add my two cents to maybe clarify.
Here is the SHA256 hash of your post:

Code:
101011100010011011011110000101000111101100001111110000110000111011000100100110000001010110110110011000011111111001011111011110111001111010001111010110010010110000100111011000110111010010001101011100001110000111001010111111110100011101101011111100010011100

Converted to hex format is it:

Code:
57136f0a3d87e187624c0adb30ff2fbdcf47ac9613b1ba46b870e57fa3b5f89c

64 characters right?  But if you view it like this:

Code:
57 13 6f 0a 3d 87 e1 87 62 4c 0a db 30 ff 2f bd cf 47 ac 96 13 b1 ba 46 b8 70 e5 7f a3 b5 f8 9c

32 separate hexadecimal numbers (or 32 bytes) each one representing 8 of the bits in the hash.
6638  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: November 24, 2016, 06:37:41 PM
I see , I changed and It seems like It's creating/calculating or whatever It usually does.. does it mean It will finish in 4 years  Huh
Code:
[289.36 Kkey/s][total 14491904][Prob 0.0%][50% in 3.8y]

What prefix are you looking for?  4 years doesn't make sense for 1omega even with a only 289 kKeys/s...
I can do it in about 6 minutes with 25Mkeys/s.  If you'd like, I can create it for you but I need you to go to Bitaddress.org and create a private-public keypair and send me the public key so I can generate an encrypted version which only you can decrypt with your private key into the actual private key for your vanity address.  Here's a video that explains how to do it.
The first one is free Wink

6639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This man sells his cattle for Bitcoin in Zimbabwe! on: November 24, 2016, 05:54:51 PM
That's actually a pretty good idea, but Im not sure why he wouldnt just sell for normal currency

 Seriously?  This is why:

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/jun/12/zimbabwe-offers-new-exchange-rate-1-for-35000000000000000-old-dollars

There is no trust for the Zimbabwe "normal" currency.
6640  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: November 24, 2016, 05:43:24 PM
It's the first time I use this software . After running the following command :
Code:
C:\Users\user\Desktop\Vanity\vanitygen64.exe 1Omega
I'm getting Invalid character 'O' in prefix '1Omega' as an error for some reasons ?

The characters in your address must be valid Base 58 characters ie

Code:
123456789ABCDEFGHJKLMNPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijkmnopqrstuvwxyz

So capital o and zero are disallowed.
