6621  Other / Meta / Re: [TELEGRAM] Yet Another BitcoinTalk Notification BOT (merits, mentions, topics,+) on: June 17, 2020, 06:06:58 AM
Just a suggestion for additional notifier. Can the super bot implement notification on birthdays of users? Since there is an option to add birthday details on profile section.

Just got the idea here Happy Birthday theymos cause I really dont know its theymos birthday. I know its not much important but it would be a cool feature popping up on telegram bot.

But of course some would probably play this out putting random date just to see the notification, so I think they should ask permission only to the bot creator for approval. With the exemption of course of those reputable members like theymos since he put his birth date. Just an idea ( ignore if not worth a shot no hard feelings) what you guys think?

6623  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Safe Campaigns in the Altcoin sections to join. Dont waste your time with others on: June 16, 2020, 08:16:50 AM
I would suggest adding this campaign to the OP, As this is token paid and these tokens are already list LEDU coins Signature Campaign [1Month] (Already Listed in Exchange)
Thanks for the suggestion mate, I will consider adding this on the list.

OP is talking about safe not if they are worth joining. Its a lot better than many other bounties where participants were scammed, and also this is stakes based, so you can not tell how much one is going to receive.
Good point. Its better than most that I am seeing now. I often found responders here very concern always the money they could earn from campaigns but we cant blamem though cause its their point of joining. Only few real crypto enthusiast here can join campaign and hold forever their tokens.

The purpose why we need due diligence to prevent falling to a bad project or even scam.
Apologize mate but as soon as I weight the circumstances of such event, I act on it. Campaign listed on new section of my thread. Until there something came up, I'll make changes again.

How can we make sure, using the money from investor properly XD.

Just throwing my 2 satoshi bitcoin XD.
Team not conducted any ICO/IEO for this project. So I guess thats my instinct telling me of any benefits of the doubt.

but still I dont think these campaign are worth calling safe.. as most of them are already flooded.. with fake newbies account with zero activity to show.. and some of the pays I can see there is nothing but modern day slavery
Cant really argue with uncontrollable facts that some campaign are swarmed with scammers. But what I do know is there an option for managers to act or make it strict, well that depends on their style.
6624  Other / Meta / Re: Stickied thread exemption from becoming an old thread? on: June 16, 2020, 08:05:36 AM
A locked thread can be unlocked by an admin. Once unlocked you can copy/paste the code or make the edits that are needed.
If the original author is no longer around, the copied code of the OP can be used to create a new thread and delete the old thread. I guess that is one option.
There are some who arent active OP of some stickied threads on few boards. So that means we need approval or yet at least inform the moderator if somehow we find the stickied thread needs revision and we have our own suggestion?

In the Croatian section, one of the sticky threads was created by Lauda in the past. Now the OP is marlboroza. I have no idea how that was done.
This is a prime example of my concern. If that actually happened then this is possible. Maybe those you mentioned can enlighten us of this occurrence.

6626  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to BTC on: June 16, 2020, 04:54:50 AM
First of all welcome to the forum mate

1. How did BTC increase in value to current values from first BTC? compared to stocks/ shares etc.these have underlying value based on income, assets etc.
Due to demand and adoption improvement. Since then BTC has grow exponentially in the blink of an eye. Its value is based on its demand, normally we can just follow the principle of demand and supply to relate at least. Also this is a decentralized asset where no one controls it so some people are fond using this rather than stock/share for their investment.

2. for future BTC growth, if more people hold on to BTC as an "investment" than use it, does not present any issues?
No, the value will go up as many will hoard their assets but its not advisable in my opinion. Somehow the views of most people interested on BTC is this but there are true bitcoiners who wanted it adoption to bloom and btc used as a means of peer to peer use cases.

3. Volatility and purchasing power - isn't this a potential issue? If I bought a car for example for 50BTC, and the current fiat value was worth $ 50 000, but then in a years time the BTC value halves (or doubles), does that not mess around with underlying value of anything significant you may buy with BTC?
Like what I said, this is a speculative commodity, so its not an issue whether its value fluctuate down or suddenly rise up. You got a point but we must viewed this cause as part of this system. Your car's value will always be the dame as 50k worth regardless bitcoin go up and down.

Just my 2cent satoshi.
6627  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Exchange BTCNEXT is scam I have no access but my funds on: June 15, 2020, 03:24:13 PM
If there is no official account then we have not anything to do really instead of self-awareness about the exchange.
They dont have an official Ann thread here but I found this contest they had been shared: BTCNEXT BROKER - TRADING WAR CONTEST WITH LUCRATIVE PRIZE POOL been watching them since then cause even this post is highly suspicious. (sounds scam to me; you can noticed on my queries on that thread)

This profile keeps responding on my query on that thread. Maybe he is part of the team aside from the one who posted that.

6628  Other / Meta / Re: Possible bug with the "Self-moderated" function on: June 15, 2020, 10:09:24 AM
This bug was also spotted by nullius a while ago, as I recall we talked about it in the past. Maybe it is related to the number of previews?
Supposedly should not have any problem at all. But there are some like @nullius experienced it the claim wasnt alone this time. Maybe there is but I cant grasp how is this different on our experienced.

cryptoaddictchie: thanks for the tip. I PMed theymos; I didn't know he asked for feedback about this function.
This is the better solution mate as he asked for it anyway if there is one. However cut him of some slacks for a while Grin he deserved a day off with a blast if you werent aware check this out https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5255605.0
6629  Other / Meta / Re: Possible bug with the "Self-moderated" function on: June 15, 2020, 07:34:47 AM
Otherwise, if you start writing your topic content, usually followed by previewing it prior posting it, and only at the end of writing / previewing you select the "Self-moderated" check-box, the topic will not be a self-moderated one.
Hello mate. Im not sure if this is a bug, cause normally I write and prepare first my content for topic and once I decided it will be self moderated I will tick the box on the additional option then its totally fine.

Take note: there are some boards that doesnt allowed self moderated like Meta

But you can tell theymos if this one really got bug or error so it would be fixed.

In most sections, you now have the option of marking topics self-moderated when creating them. In self-moderated topics, the OP can delete replies. The option for enabling this is under "additional options". Topics cannot be converted to self-moderated topics after creation.

There are no rules to self-moderation. In self-moderated threads, replies belong to the OP. In other threads, replies belong to the respondents individually. Think carefully about whether you want to reply to a self-moderated topic, as your post may not be given due respect.

Tell me if there are any bugs. If this ends up not working out well, I might remove it.

6631  Other / Meta / Re: Stickied thread exemption from becoming an old thread? on: June 15, 2020, 03:32:25 AM
The message is there to avoid people bumping dead threads back to the front page. Stickied threads are always in the top of the front page, so what would be the issue of posting there? That's why no message shows up.
I get it that stickied threads are important ones. I just get the idea when there was a post on our local board about the certain topic which covered by the stickied thread but the thread was inactive for few months, so he think it shouldn't be bump thats why he create a new thread but users suggest to post instead on the right thread which happened to be on stickied thread.

But as expected I am right, exemption to sticky thread have it purpose to stay there as you said.

Which lead me again to another curiosity. How about those locked stickied threads that needs a revision? How would that thread be updated if example the author has not active anymore. This is possible if ever someone created a much better version for example rules.

6633  Other / Meta / Stickied thread exemption from becoming an old thread? on: June 14, 2020, 12:07:20 PM
How long (number of days, months) does an old post can have a warning like this and can be considered an old thread? I believe 120days right at least the duration if none posted on that thread? Cause thats what it state when there is a warning if you will reply on that topic.

I assume there is an exemption of this through stickied thread on every sections. Maybe I was wrong but let me give you an example which I just discovered recently.

Other sections for this forum?

This post was posted February 2016. The last active post on this was last January 14, 2020. So if we check the months it was inactive it almost reach 5months right? I wonder why the warning message  has not popping up when it almost over the 120days period from the last message posted Here:

Does it support the idea stickied thread has exemption to this? Im not sure though but I would like an explanation why is it like that. Everyone can try on other local section if they have the same active stickied thread to verify.

Sorry for my noob question, just wanted to know why is it like that.
6634  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: [SUGGESTION] Add local child boards please on: June 14, 2020, 08:29:25 AM
OP I think your intention is good and this thread has been prepaped well as I can the effort of your topic to open this up.

Check this out:

I try to pick an old thread way back 2016.

Mayroong warning about this my guess if you posted here that would be consider necrobumping also depend sa content ng post mo kung okay naman baka hindi.

While check this thread what @Bttzed03 speaking of;
Other sections for this forum?

No warning at all. my assumption, sticky threads were not included on the rules of necrobumping. Im not sure though just a merely observation. Tama ba ko sa interpretation ko Mr. Big?

OP 100% I support your idea very well said pero sigurado dadaan pa ito sa maraming deliberation. Also okay din kung maretain itong thread mo and hear opinions of other Filipino users about this. Normally hindi kasi mapapansin nga naman sa sticky thread ng ibang users yung topic but of course Moderators decision too kung imemerge ba or ilolocked ito. Some were also doing creation of new thread kahit may existing na about dun but with a formal post like this, I think it can be retained.

Changing stance of one of the largest bank in the world. What does it signifies?
I believe its purely business at all. Why does JPMorgan become sweeter now with BTC is a huge puzzle but not hard to decipher. Changing sides means he/they found a way to make more money from it.

We all knew this guy is an entreprenuer and using BTC as a reason for his agenda is likely be part of his plan. My bet is he already bagged some with these recent rally and now wanted to make profits by boosting BTC on news to surge hike.

I dont have proof but everybody can smell this kind of heist.

Of course not. If you will check the profiles of the one I mentioned they are different users whom been used for registration. I dont think own company will cheat on their own campaign right? Dont worry if there are some evidence pointing to those scammers we will update here.

Because sometimes scammers could put one user account with other bitcointalk users. In this case, some users can suffer from it. Good finding op. keep it up.
