6622  Other / Meta / Re: [SUGGESTION]One Megathread for all Local section pertaining to Covid-19 on: April 06, 2020, 08:56:30 AM
The suggestion I have raised isn't need a technical changes in the set up of forum. But an initiative to other users here to create or do like what someone had done in our Local group. Thus pertaining only to locking of covid informal threads, and create a serious one like I've posted. Though its up to everyone if this suggestion will be helpful. Just trying to help, cause I can see its working on our local group and users tend to search and update with more credible info than simply response  with sometime nonsense thought or spam.

I think this is okay too. But this will be a huge changes. Well if theymos see it useful, then why not. But this will be a lot of works to implement and not sure if his gonna agree on this too.

Hi everyone would like to share this  [MEGATHREAD]Pilipinas Corona Virus/COVID-19 Thread post of one of our local member. It is worth doing too on some of the local sections here, to do a one working  megathread for covid related news. To have an organize and systematic rolling out of information that is happening on each respective country. The purpose serve a great help to avoid repetitive topics pertaining to corona virus. This is only a suggestion that could make your local section free from spam and unncessary opening up of threads. Hope this helps. Thank you.

Can be good also on none local section megathread but that is a big task for our mods to merge, locked up and clean up repetitive topics.

Singapore Offering aid sa Pilipinas sa pamamagitan ng kanilang app na TraceTracker sa tingin ko ayos din itong gawin dito sa Pilipinas, yung idea ay simple lang at possible help na rin para mag locate ng mga possible close contact. Maaari rin siguro natin iadopt ang paggamit nito, anything that helps reduce the case will be helpful IMO.

Singapore has expressed willingness to work with the Philippines in using an app that would help in the tracing of individuals who have come in contact with COVID-19 patients, the Department of Information and Communications Technology said Sunday.

Singaporean Ambassador Ho Wei Hong was quoted by the DICT as saying his government is willing to provide the Philippines technical assistance on the use of the app called TraceTogether.

TraceTogether, an app developed by SGUnited, the Singaporean Government Technology Agency and the Singaporean Ministry of Health, uses Bluetooth to track people who have come close to a COVID-19 patient.

It tracks when they were in close proximity with other people, which can be used to identify the close contacts of COVID-19 patients, if they allow the Singaporean Ministry of Health access to data in the app.

The Singaporean government ensures that the app does not track a user’s location and contacts and data it collects will only be stored on the phone for 21 days and will not be accessed unless they are identified as a close contact.

Current update as of 4:30pm (PH TIME) April 5, 2020.

Great News guys!

TOKYO - Japan is considering increasing the stockpile of Fujifilm Holding Corp's Avigan anti-flu drug during this fiscal year so it can be used to treat 2 million people, according to a planning document seen by Reuters.

Local media reported on Sunday that Japan was hoping to triple the production of the drug from current levels, which is enough to treat 700,000 people if used by coronavirus patients.

Avigan, also known as Favipiravir, is manufactured by a subsidiary of Fujifilm, which has a healthcare arm although it is better known for its cameras. The drug was approved for use in Japan in 2014. Avigan is being tested in China as a treatment for COVID-19.

In the emergency stimulus package expected to be rolled out on Tuesday, the government also planned to prioritize the clinical trial process of the drug so it can be formally approved to be used in treating coronavirus patients.

According to the document, Japan also plans to boost subsidies to domestic companies that supply masks and disinfectants and will secure enough capacity to supply 700 million masks a month.

The Nikkei newspaper reported on Sunday that in efforts to reduce its dependence on China as its manufacturing hub, it will subsidize companies that will move some of their production facilities back to Japan.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said on Friday a stimulus package to combat the coronavirus pandemic will target small firms and households hardest hit by social distancing policies that are affecting consumption.

The package will include cash payouts to small firms and households facing sharp falls in income, Abe said.

The government will also urge private financial institutions to join government-affiliated lenders in offering zero-interest rate loans to cash-strapped small and midsized firms, he said.

Philippine Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said Sunday there has been an offer for a clinical trial coming from Japan, "whereby this drug will be used and we are going to identify hospitals and patients."

"We had communicated already through our (Department of Foreign Affairs) that we are interested in joining so that we can access this drug," Vergeire told ANC.
Although this stage or request is only for clinical trial. Well at least the Philippines are participating to all joint venture regarding finding ways to help covid cases. Sana lang isa na ito sa mga solusyon na panlaban sa covid. We all know how smart Japanese are and I hope what they doing will be the ultimate cure for this pandemic Virus.

6630  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: an important reminder : accumulate bitcoin. on: April 05, 2020, 06:14:04 AM
On my current age, Im not sure if holding it for 20years would still benefit me a lot. But I am indeed accumulating for 2 to 3 years and budget it and divert to a more comprehensive investments.

I don't find any reason to accumulate bitcoin. People have no money in this situation. This is the worst scenario in history of cryptocurrency. If I had money then I should use it for living not for trading or investing. No one know what will happen after the end of calamity. Holding crypto is not a wise advice in my mind.
There are different perspective about bitcoin, but the currwnt situation woulndt stop people from investing, as they know that opportunity like this comes once every blue moon. I get your point about spending it on living with the current state we are, but some people here have funds for that matter which segregate their financial plan to their daily expenses fund. That's your opinion and will be respected.
6631  Other / Meta / Re: Happy Birthday to Satoshi Nakamoto. on: April 05, 2020, 06:02:55 AM
Actually we don't know the real who is the real Satoshi who created the Bitcoin. So if anybody who wants to celebrate this Dorian Nakamoto will not get much attention from this community. So better to celebrate    November 19, 2009 when the satoshi registered in this forum than celebrating this Dorian Nakamoto's birthday. Smiley
Yeah right but we cant considered it as his birthday but a day which is become a known user of the forum. But celebrating this date could also served as one important yearly date to commemorate his achievement and contributions to us all here.

Im not sure if the real Satoshi would be happy to see this face on his facebook account. But nice niche in there dude for April fool weekends.

OP, I think most users already suggest the best way and secured way. But I understand your point of having convenience using coinsph. Most of Filipino users here are very well aware how that platform works like a game changer app that connect cryptocurrency to fiat and associated establishment. But since your original account was compromised, I suggest you can appeal to them personally as they have office on Manila. Such IDs or documents can be a hard requirements for your as you mentioned you still a student. That's the thing about coinsph they are very strict on requirement which segregate their cool features to a sensitive matter. Well we know they just protecting best interest for everyone.

Also you can used Abra Wallet app which I think isnt that strict but features wise, we all knew how useful coinsph.

Check this out mate, some of my friends with block or suspended account due to requirements too has shifted and I asked them so far hows their experience on Abra and they say its not bad but really far from the coinsph features.

Detail review of Abra
6634  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trading Based on One Exchange's Prices on: April 04, 2020, 02:57:12 PM

But if you base your buy decision on a thin sell wall, and yet on another exchange it's a heavy wall, and the market moves according to the aggregate of all orders on all exchanges, how will your analysis hold any value?

If you will depend on coin tracker, such as CMC, they are depending on the exchange data that they approved but of course its your responsibility to check the volume on each exchange.

A good analysis is based on the average volume that orders that has been taken care of.

I think this is the mistake of CMC which I hope CZ change since they are co owner already of the company.

Thick sell wall=means heavily loaded orders
Thin sell wall= means pretty low orders

If you will trade make sure that you always compare the the price, volume, sometime you can take advantage on small exchange with such cheaper sell order.

6638  Other / Meta / Re: Is it allowed to post in Local Section not belonging to you on: April 04, 2020, 08:25:55 AM
I don't think people should be posting in Local sections if they can't speak the language. The only exception I would probably make is if someone is looking for something like a good or service specifically from that country.
I think there should be an exemption to that and should be case to case basis. Ive seen user who are posting on our Local thread, and not knowing he isnt a Fililipino (Pilipinas Section Board) but his post is in english though, and from his post, he showed places in our country set up. So in my mind, I thought he is also a Filipino. But not. Instead he told us that he is residing for quite sometime and even uses services on our country. He already acquainted and I assume he understands already even little our country's dialect. So talking a little bit of our own language wouldnt hurt a bit. So I guess there is nothing wrong about that since he is staying there. I'm talking about @nutildah, our mod there seems no issue of him posting there. Well Ive guess it depends on the standard set by moderators of each local as emphasized by theymos.

What's going to happen if CZ and binance start getting rid of some projects on Coinmarketcap? Especially those with bad volume and Liquidity and also dead projects, because many are on coinmarketcap, what do you think this will do for crypto space? Will it have any impact or not?
Coinmarketcap is a coin and token tracker thats has good volume. We knew before a project can be listed there they are required to have specific daily trading volume CMC requires. I think CMC doing this already before even Binance doesnt acquire them. But I am be grateful if Binance would initiate removing those shitty exchanges that fake volume. Or their feature about reported exchanges. The data here shows manipulation which confuses traders with the active market price for each token and coin. I appreciate if they will start with these exchanges.

  • p2pb2b
  • latoken
  • vindax

Can add more but these three really made a huge fake volumes on their list.

In fact, I'm sorry that I don't have more merits available so that I can help more young members in this forum but I invite others to also reward good and constructive posts from our newbie and jr members and help them rank up in the forum.
They really deserve our support and help in the begining of their forum ''life''  Grin Grin
Opening up a thread like this somehow boost lower rank members to create good post. I like the initiative mate, if youre going to update the winners of this event. I  will award some merits too to those Ive think in my opinion show a constructive posting. Not every members have the talents to do so. Not saying, only good post deserved merits but some are started from shitposter and improved their post eventually. That's why sometime Ive checked their post history and from that I can see that for example this user has greatlt improved since then. Learning to post quality one takes time not everyone here is genius and got some humor to entice high ranks. Thumbs up @Daniel91.

I expected it to be more honestly.
These are the users deserved merits. Some that create post with their honesty and eager to learn and help not those making post to earn merits specifically.
