6621  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: August 18, 2014, 10:19:04 PM

I'm full member and enrolled few days ago (when full members were allowed), should I carry on and will I get paid next month?
Is it closed for new 'full members' (or below), what about those already enrolled?

This has been answered multiple times.  The new rule is effective immediately for this pay period for this new month so don't waste your time.  Feel free to get second opinions but I've read Stunna's response to this.

OK, found it:

Please Read
For next month it looks like we are going to cut anyone below Sr member from the campaign and then further limit the campaign down to the highest quality posters if needed. I will begin reviewing the quality of our higher ranked posters tomorrow and notify you if I've decided to cut you from the campaign.

If you are below senior member you will be able to keep your signature and put a referral link in at a boosted rate which will net you 15-20% of the house edge on any bets made on your url. I'm not sure how profitable this will be for users but it will likely be decent profit until you can potentially participate at the pay per post level. This program is also 100% automatic with profits available instantly to cash out from your primedice account. If you are below a senior member I suggest creating a primedice account and adding your affiliate link now (this is available under profile). To get your rate boosted please send me a PM in over 24 hours from now.

Ever since we started this campaign the quality of posts on bitcointalk has plummeted and it is becoming more and more difficult to regulate things. I think this is the best move for the health of this community.

Would be useful to put this in the first post tho.

Think it's a smart move, even know I'm out.
Submitted the claim form, hope I'll get paid for those few posts I've made till today, no worries if not.

6623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia and China vs Bitcoin on: August 18, 2014, 05:55:43 PM
They already did ban bitcoin.

They each banned bitcoin a few times already Smiley

One thing I cannot understand is Russian gov's negativity towards BTC, while RT news, considered to be Russian 'propaganda tube', is very positive on BTC and cryptos in general.

6625  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ethereum the altcoin killer? on: August 17, 2014, 08:30:37 PM
I don't get your logic. Currently we have shit load of altcoins that somehow co-exist and we don't see everyone jumping on one (currently "best") altcoin.
Why do you think it would be different with Ether? Not to mention you can use Ether to create more altcoins.

Edit:
What exactly is ethereum?  Is it a crypto currency of its own or a platform for cryptos?

Both?

Payment date is fix 17th of every month and 50 posts minimum required for claiming of payment but we all waiting new updates from Stunna which are expected in next few days

OK, thanks. But when do you claim the payment? On 17th or before?
It's not mentioned in the OP
6628  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] [Highest Paid Signature] Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: August 16, 2014, 04:22:22 PM
OK, just enrolled.

The payments are suppose to be on 17th, so when do I claim the payment (fill and submit the form)? Is it on 17th? Or before (16th?), or anytime?

Is there a minimum number of posts/month?

How does it work?
6629  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wikipedia Raises 237 BTC Through Donations In One Week on: August 16, 2014, 04:16:19 PM
I'd rather donate to wikileaks than wikipedia. It's quite an inspiring story if it's true that they survived on bitcoin.

My thoughts, exactly. Wikileaks stands for a noble cause. On the other hand, Wikipedia is run by a bunch of greedy people who survive on bribes from the organized cabals who control many of its articles (especially in the politics and religion sections).

Any proof/source of Wikimedia taking a bribes?

They may not be perfect, you can disagree with many entries (especially on sensitive subjects) but there's no question that Wikipedia is a great source of knowledge for the masses.

6633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ethereum and bitcoin: two things you need to know on: August 14, 2014, 09:58:36 PM
Ether is magical fairy dust, and that's exactly what you're getting for your BTC. An unknown quantity, of unknown supply and of unknown value.
- "An unknown quantity" - wrong, you know the exact quantity when buying
- "unknown supply" - correct, but supply will be known when IPO ends, model of supply is pretty clear
- "unknown value" - at this moment there's a fixed price in BTC. Yes, you don't know what the value will be at launch, but you also don't know what will be the value of BTC or any other altcoin (or... anything) on then.
6634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ethereum and bitcoin: two things you need to know on: August 14, 2014, 09:25:54 PM

its a 100% premine. the coin itself 'ether' SHOULD not be considered a currency. but simply a stamp that ensures a transaction(contract) occurs. so in laymans terms treat it more like buying a postage stamp and not foreign currency.

Where did you get the idea its 100% premine? It will be mineable.

From the whitepaper:
Quote
The issuance model will be as follows:
● Ether will be released in a currency sale at the price of 1337-2000 ether per BTC, a
mechanism intended to fund the Ethereum organization and pay for development that has been
used with success by a number of other cryptographic platforms. Earlier buyers will benefit from larger
discounts. The BTC received from the sale will be used entirely to pay salaries and bounties to
developers, researchers and projects in the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
● 0.099x the total amount sold will be allocated to early contributors who participated in
development before BTC funding or certainty of funding was available, and another 0.099x will be
allocated to long-term research projects.
● 0.26x the total amount sold will be allocated to miners per year forever after that point.

how much is coinbase charging Wikipedia for this?

I believe it's zero. They support charities free of charge.
6636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wikipedia Raises 237 BTC Through Donations In One Week on: August 10, 2014, 05:35:11 PM

They state it clearly. They didn't collect 237 btc they collected $140,000. Shows you the mindset.

Give them time. Let's not expect them to instantly become the bitcoin fanatics.
I'm sure that with the next price spike they'll be reconsidering instant conversion to USD.

That really is a lot. It's so awesome to see that that Wales guy decided to give it a short. This shows that it was the right thing to do! If they continue that way they'll get like... 12'000 BTC over the next year!!!! That's over $7m USD!!! INCREDIBLE!

Yes, that's impressive, but don't think they'll be getting that much every week. Probably lots of bitcoiners decided to reward them for making the right decision.

I have just figured out you earn Interest even when coins are on Bittrex !!
Even if you have a sell order !!

Isn't the perfect and ultimate coin ?!

Yup, it's a beautiful feature  Smiley

Just a note: you may not be getting any interest if you buy on the exchange, you'll probably have to transfer it to your wallet (or another exchange) and then send it back.

Last week, The Wikimedia Foundation, owner of Wikipedia online encyclopedia, has announced Wikipedia acceptance of bitcoin as a method of payment for donations.

Now, one week later, Wikipedia gladly announces that it has collected more than $140,000 in bitcoin donations.

So, Savecoin has been the luckiest and most bankable coin in Crypto History with 750 000 % rise in 24h and 100M$ cap thanks to a fund.

Dev, what are your plans now ?

You do realise that it was one-time boost? You know how the market cap calculation works? SPC never had real $100m market cap.
Things are going back to normal now, market cap is over $40k. The only good thing is that SPC got some attention and free advertisement.

Allcrypt, the first (or one of the first) exchanges that added SPC are planning some major improvements and re-designing.
They're asking for the clients input/opinions/ideas. Let's help them out:
