BITCOIN vs ETH ? your thoughts ?
I prefer Bitcoin than Etherium. But I'm not saying that etherium is bad as an investment, it is indeed better compared to Bitcoin for short term investment. It is just that, in my opinion, Bitcoin is better in overall aspects. Bitcoin has a higher market value and market capital , it has also a bigger community that makes its market demand high. These factors for me are important so I'd say that Bitcoin is better. |

What is the real reason behind the price rise of bitcoin as its gaining more strength from last few days?
I believe that the thing that is making the market value of Bitcoin,high is its large community. Bitcoin remained the no.1 cryptocurrency for a long period of time. And even if we lose a big part of this community which is China, one of the biggest crypto investors, that resulted to a downfall. But currently, it is slowly recovering, and that is because of its investors that stayed inspite of the backdrops, which makes the demand high and its value more expensive as time passes by. |

What will you do if some altcoin (XMR or ETH for example surpasses the value of BTC, either in market cap or by the price of a token each? Will you sell your BTC to buy the more "valuable" coin, or continue using and holding BTC? Also, what do you think are the chances that it could happen? I'd stick to Bitcoin ofcourse. That is possible to happen but we all know that altcoin is only good for short term investment and Bitcoin is still better for long term investment. One good example is ETH since it is oftenly used in ICOs it has a chance to reach the same market cap of Bitcoin, but Bitcoin still has a large market value. So I will still hold my Bitcoin no matter what. |

I think it would go 4500 by this week. I think there'll still mild dumps since Bitcoin is volatile, and fluctuations are already expected. It's good to know that Bitcoin is continuously rising. What we should keep our eyes on, is the incoming hardfork. If it will be successful, Bitcoin's market value may reach 7000$ before this year end and hoping that it will be successful. At this moment let's just see how Bitcoin will go as this year ends.

It is always good to invest in Bitcoin. This only proves how good bitcoin is as an investment, that its value will eventually increase after every backdrops to happen. My expectations is that since Bitcoin is already priced at 4200$ maybe at the end of this year it will break the 5000 dollar mark since there will be a hardfork in November especially if it will be as successful as the recent fork this thing will surely be possible. |

I think it's absurd as of this moment, knowing that Bitcoin is still recovering from the downfall happened 2 weeks before because of what happened between Bitcoin exchanges and China. From 4800$ it dropped to 3300$ in just a period of time. Bitcoin is currently priced at 4100 and still continues to rise. Maybe if Bitcoin will be legal to most of the countries having a price of that huge is possible because the demand will surely be high. |

That's a reason for us to buy more Bitcoin and to hold because its market value is continuously rising. There are lots of people thatbsold their Bitcoin because of the hard fall resulted by China banning ICOs and exchanges. And those who didn't and still holding will surely earn profit by the time that it already recovered. Hoping that the pump will continue through the hardfork that will happen in the month of November to open up more oppurtunities for Bitcoin in the following years. |

If you compare the two main cryptocurrency, namely Bitcoin and Ethereum, which one has the most promising future?
In terms of evolution, Bitcoin reached a maximum of roughly 4800$, whereas Ethereum reached roughly 394$: in other words, it is a potential increase of 33 % for Ethereum, but only 24% for Bitcoin.
For long term investment, I'd go with Bitcoin but for short term, ETH I think is better. Bitcoin has a much larger market value compared to ETH but Etherium is usually used in most ICOs that makes its market demand high and its market price, continuously increasing. Both are good by the way, maybe it just depends on the individual and his/her perceptions. |

Hi , I'm new so basically I still have a lot to learn about the cryptocurrency , but I would like to know if it would be possible for the bitcoin to start the downfall ? I mean like what scenario can happen that the bitcoin would be pushed back like 5-6 years ?

I'm afreaid that it is possible. Bitcoin's market value only depends on the market demand, so if the demand is low, same thing will happen to its value. If the backdrops will be continuous, it would be a total disaster on Bitcoin and also its investors. But we should hope that its success will continue for the years to come and we should encourage more people towards Bitcoin to avoid that problem to occur. |

Bitcoin is being used widely in porn sites, gambling and drug dealing sectors. Is that why the btc made for ? I have seen a lot of members in this forum discussing about buying drugs, gambling and enjoying porn with bitcoin. Is not it a misuse of a currency ? Block chain tech is a awesome tech and btc is getting popular. I hate these misuses of precious btc. It hurts me. This will lead into unhealthy society along with unhealthy future generation.
Maybe it is because of its advantages. Bitcoin is decentralized and we are all awared with that, this only means that its users are allowed to use Bitcoin as they like. And also, Bitcoin is a currency which is at the same time, a good source of income. In just by holding it you'll be able to earn profit becuase its value increases as time passes by. Bitcoin is a digital currency which can also be considered as a "trend" that may also be a reason why people nowadays prefer Bitcoin over fiat. |

Personally I have been surprised by Bankera, I bought into the pre ICO and every week they have been paying the ETH
commissions into my wallet, also looking forward to Electroneum and BQX......
I think PBT, Waves, ETH and BTC are coins that will be more successful in the future. Their price are either consitently developing and increasing . ETH ofcourse and Bitcoin are still on top among other coins. Each of these coins have already established high market demand and large communities. These coins become my favorite because of their popularity. |

Bitcoin has pumped back to $4000 and up, without no chinese markets involved, proving that we can survive government bans. I am very confident now in a strong recovery to an ATH. Once we reach ATH in a post-Chinese ban environment, we are going to prove to the world that bans on Bitcoin are useless, so they will either join us or keep getting exposed.
I predict chinese exchanges will eventually be back under regulated licenses, pumping the price even further. Get in now or cry later.
Still, losing China is a major loss to consider, thinking of how it negatively affected Bitcoin and made all crypto market to fall. But that's a good sign and good to hear that Bitcoin is able to slowly recover and again, to reach 4000$ without Vhina. This thing only shows that Bitcoin already grew that it can still withstand promblems such as what happened. Maybe at the end of this year Bitcoin's market price will be back to its price before the backdrop or even higher. |

It is now priced at 4200$ which is a good news to all especially its users and investors. The downfall resulted for Bitcoin market value to fall from 4800 to 3300 because of an anomaly with China. It became hard for Bitcoin to recover because of the loss that it suffered. But currently, it is slowly recovering as what you've also said. It is way unpredictable in my opinion. Fluctuations are just expected but, surely, it can't exactly be predicted when will the increase or the decrease on its valuw ill take place. It is just a matter of speculations . Bitcoin is volatile, so it is no longer surprising if there's a change on its value whether its price increase or not. The only thing for sure is that, if there are dumps, eventually there'll be pumps on the price of Bitcoin. |

I believe that it is possible. The possibility is due to the incoming hardfork in the month of November. As we remember the recent hardfork that happened last month of August, that resulted for Bitcoin to reach the 4k mark in just 20 days from its price of 2400. And the same thing could happen before this year end. If the hardfork will be successful, the same thing may happen that will possibly make Bitcoin to be priced at 10k before this year end. |

I think that's too much but I am not saying that it is not possible. Maybe Bitcoin will only achieve that huge amount if it is already legal to most of the countries because the demand will surely be high when more people will use it as a currency. What do you say when asked this question from a friend who has only heard its name mentioned a few times in the news and has no clue. I find myself lately taking the easy way out and suggesting google. I would prefer to give a clearer answer, but usually saying something leads to more questions and more confusion.
If someone could point me to a twitter type answer that would inform and twig their curiosity, i think it would be a better outcome.
I will first ask why are they interested, because you will know what specifically they are trying to ask based on their answer. And from that, you'll be able to answer their question as they want it to be answered. And then you'll just add facts and informations about Bitcoin and how does it users earn profit. And also from that, they may search for themselves on articles or on this forum. The only thing that you need to do is to tell them what Bitcoin is in general and simple things about it. |
