6641  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao vs Keith Thurman on July 20 on: June 30, 2019, 06:50:31 AM
Done here, I'm very confident that Pacman can put down this Thurman trash talker. .

You know guys Pacman strategy when conference is to silent and to motivate what he’s opponent saying. Oh have you know also that all Pacman boxers faced trashtalk his first? but guess what happened he beat them all like what oscar de la hoya retired after their game.

Pacman will shut down Thurman in the ring Grin

Don't get personal. Keith Thurman enjoys an excellent personal relationship with Manny Pacquiao. The trashtalk is all staged and before every major fight you can find such drama. It is all scripted and the purpose is just to attract more fans to the event. Thurman is not someone who is going to disrespect a legend such as Manny Pacquiao.
6642  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Cricket World Cup - Discussion & Analysis on: June 30, 2019, 06:47:57 AM
Afghanistan again was so close to winning this match like against India yet lost this match against Pakistan. OZ outplayed the NZ and this is not a good sign as NZ is strong contender for the WC winners and this put OZ now in the first place.

I have my doubts regarding yesterday's match. The bowlers were performing well until the 46th over, when the Afghan captain (Gulbadin Naib) decided to bring himself on. Remember that the leggie Samiullah Shinwari had two overs remaining at that point. Then, 46 runs was required from 5 overs, at a rate of 9.2 runs per over. Naib conceded 18 runs and it swinged the match in favor of Pakistan. Many in India are accusing Naib of gifting the match to PAK.
6643  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-06-11] Crypto Exchanges Are Facing Their Biggest Regulatory Hurdle Yet on: June 29, 2019, 03:23:59 AM
Someone please correct me if I am wrong. The article says that only transactions that are worth more than $1,000 will be monitored. So what will happen if an user makes multiple transactions of $999.99 during the same day? Also, since these regulations are applicable only to such users, if I have only $100 in my exchange wallet, do I have to undergo KYC?
6644  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cash out after having investment trippled in bitcoin! on: June 29, 2019, 03:19:52 AM
I first invested Bitcoin in 2017, when the prices were around $1,000 per coin. My initial investment went up by 20x in 2017, but the next year it went down by as much as 85%. After my initial investment, I never purchased any coins from the market. Most of my revenue after that came from signature campaigns and bounties. But now the big question is when to cash out, and how to do that.
6645  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin dominance hits 60%, alts lagging behind on: June 29, 2019, 03:12:43 AM
In the same manner, crypto investors need to store at least 60% and over of their total capital in a coin with market dominance like Bitcoin or Ether. And the rest of the funds spread among the other top coins like EOS , ripple or Tron. These coins all give value for money.

Make no mistake. Ether is not faring that well. It has fallen to 0.025 BTC per coin, and the trends are negative. Among the alts, Binance Coin and Litecoin were the ones who held on during last few weeks. But now even they have fallen. Litecoin has dipped below the psychologically significant 0.01 BTC mark. The dominance stands at 62.7% now, and I think it will reach 70% by the end of this year.
6646  Economy / Economics / Re: When the government forbids cryptocurrency on: June 28, 2019, 03:33:03 AM
I guess your country is Bangladesh or India. In these circumstances the crypto exchange markets will go away into the dark internet. You can to use VPN, TOR or other anonymizers to make a transactions. To be honest, it is difficult to ban the crypto currencies from the technical side. The government of your country don't know how to control this market, and they did a mistake, I think.

VPN / TOR can be used for crypto-to-crypto transactions. But what he'll do in case he want to convert some of his coins to fiat currency? Almost all the major exchanges such as Bitstamp and Kraken have made KYC mandatory now and there is no guarantee that they will not share the user data with the governments. One option is to go for peer to peer transactions using platforms such as Localbitcoins. But even LBC is not 100% safe and the authorities can track your bank transactions.
6647  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why I hate Banks and love Bitcoin :-> on: June 28, 2019, 02:08:56 AM
No one loves the banks or the bankers. These people suck the lifeblood out of the hard working people and whenever they lose money due to their stupidity, the government steps in to reimburse the losses by spending the tax money. Here in India, the banks have been increasing charges for every small thing, including ATM withdrawals and issuing cheque books.
6648  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-06-24]Key Bitcoin Price Indicator Suggests $21,000 ‘Fair Value’ By End Of on: June 28, 2019, 02:04:52 AM
Why don't they come up with these sort of predictions when the exchange rate was just above $3,000 per coin in March? These sort of predictions only come out when BTC suddenly goes up by 200% or 300%. IMO, the next bull run should take us to $50,000 per coin, and there is a very good chance of that occurring during this year itself.
6649  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin dominance hits 60%, alts lagging behind on: June 28, 2019, 01:52:59 AM
Bitcoin dominance was above 70% before the pump on Dec 2017 and I'm not saying that it may happen again but what I feel right now, it's less likely.

From where did you got the 70% mark? By June 2017, the Bitcoin dominance was 39% and Ether was fast catching up (31%). At that time, the ICO market was at its peak. After that, the dominance increased from 39% in June to 54% in December (when BTC attained its ATH). During Dec 2017-Jan 2018 Ripple had its bull rally and the BTC dominance once again declined from 54% to 33%.
6650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CWC2019 Prediction Pool - Win x BTC [Additional prize in every round] on: June 28, 2019, 01:49:01 AM
Bravo and Russell could have made a difference. I understand that Russell is injured, but it is also true that some of these West Indian players take IPL much more seriously than the CWC. What they need to understand is that in case West Indies don't perform well in major tournaments, then no one will notice the WI players and give them a chance to play in the IPL.
6651  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Cricket World Cup - Discussion & Analysis on: June 28, 2019, 01:46:19 AM
A win against South Africa today can give Sri Lanka two more points and place them at the same level as England. The advantage for England is that they are having a better NRR. But neither of the two teams looks like the favorites to enter semi-finals as of now. Tomorrow Pakistan can win the match against Afghanistan, and they'll be having 9 points. Another win, and they are in the semis.
6652  Other / Politics & Society / Re: U.S. Lawmaker Calls For Facebook To Pause Cryptocurrency Project on: June 27, 2019, 04:03:57 AM
I definitely think it had a rise in price due to the Libra announcement. I think it will ultimately mean that there are going to be far more regulations than we had hoped for if there is this much scrutiny on Libra

I don't think that the announcement regarding Libracoin has anything to do with the current bull run. The first confirmation about Facebook planning to create a cryptocurrency came in May this year (The Wall Street Journal on 2nd May 2019), while the bull run started almost two months prior to that date. And there was no immediate jump in the cryptocurrency exchange rates when the confirmation came out and the sharpest bull rally occurred one month later, in June.
6653  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Google allegedly prevent Trump from winning in 2020, push far left agenda on: June 27, 2019, 03:54:48 AM
If Fox News was doing the same, then I am sure that a lot of the left-wing intellectuals could have gone ballistic. I am from India, and even here we have noticed Google and Facebook shamelessly interfering in local politics. If you check Google News India, it is full of articles from extreme left media outlets such as the Quint, Netional Herald, the Hindu and the Print. You will never find any articles from the most popular Indian media outlets, such as Republic or Swarajya.
6654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook Cryptocurrency on: June 27, 2019, 03:51:05 AM
Facebook's new GlobalCoin cryptocurrency is a stablecoin used for payment purposes within its network and it won't be a speculative type commodity like Bitcoin and probably won't have smart contract features like Ethereum or Tron so it won't likely affect their marketshare

Your post is full of blunders. First of all, the name of the cryptocurrency is Libracoin and not Global coin. And secondly, it is not going to be a stablecoin. As per Zucker, the currency will be backed up by real assets (including cash and bullion), but the exchange rate will be fluctuating similar to Bitcoin or Ethereum. And thirdly, it is not confirmed that the coin will not have smart contract features. Those details are not public as of now. But in all possibility, why should they shy away from using advanced technology, when they have the option?
6655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: People are losing confident and interest in altcoins on: June 27, 2019, 03:47:45 AM
I think in a couple of months before altcoin season begin because bitcoin is still dominating the market and I can feel it will still make more gains and altcoins will be stagnant. Well no one really knows what will happen we just need to be careful on how we trade and be patient.

This is just wishful thinking. "Altcoin season" may never come. In a couple of months, Bitcoin dominance may reach the 70% level, from the current level of 63%. I won't be too surprised even if reaches 75% or 80%. For now the alts are holding strong against the USD, although they are declining against BTC. If the trends persist and BTC moves toward 20K, then the alts can lose value against USD as well, as a lot of users may rush to purchase BTC with whatever funds they have with them.
6656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can BNB beat Ethereum? on: June 27, 2019, 03:43:41 AM
I don't agree. Ethereum is way above Binance. Binance for now may be at the top but only insofar as their exchange is concerned. And mind you, the exchange ranking is very fluctuating. But in terms of blockchain and their platforms, Binance cannot simply equal Ethereum. The thing here is that Binance is a bit noisy everywhere, hype, media attention, and the like. But it only takes a quick browse over the internet and be amazed by which companies use the Ethereum platform. Ethereum is a legend, my friend.

In the end BNB will end up like IOTA, which has lost 90% of its value (against BTC) since the beginning of 2018. Ethereum is of a different league altogether. It was first listed almost four years back and during this time the developers have worked hard to eliminate the bugs and deficiencies. It has emerged as the most popular platform for launching tokens and smart contracts, with more than 90% market share. Now this can't be compared to BNB whose only function is within the Binance exchange.
6657  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: People are losing confident and interest in altcoins on: June 27, 2019, 03:40:06 AM
Do you think it ever going to be recovered and if you think, yes, then how long?

I think not everyone loses confidence in the altcoin.  Instead they take this good opportunity to buy potential altcoins because the price is still cheap. Don't worry too much and panic if you want to improve. The important thing is not to buy bad coins, buy good coins and potential such as ETH, BNB, TRX, etc.

Are you sure about this? Because the trading volumes indicate something else. Coins such as BNB have lost more than one-third of their value (vs BTC) during the past 7 days. If there was a lot of demand for BNB, then this would have never happened. The daily volumes have remained higher than the average and the most popular trading pair was BNB-BTC. Only one conclusion can be drawn from this data. And that is, users are selling their altcoins to purchase Bitcoin.
6658  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-06-15] IRS turning its attention to recreational bitcoin investors on: June 27, 2019, 03:35:44 AM
@Carlton Banks. Also, everyone should deactivate their Facebook accounts, not only because of the up and coming Libra scam. It is worse than television. It is brainwashing us in ways much easier and deeper than before and turns us into sheep.

Facebook is having billions or users and they won't care if a few thousand accounts get deactivated. I would like to get some free Libra coins as promotional offer and I would later convert them to BTC or ETH. Let's treat Libra the same way as we treated Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin SV. Just collect the freebies and exchange them for something more valuable. I don't have any BSV in my wallet right now. I have converted all of them to BTC long back. Would do the same to Libra as well.
6659  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency are gonna disappear on: June 27, 2019, 03:30:30 AM
Some of the reasons why Cryptocurrencies might disappear are:

1. High transactions costs, preventing small-scale transactions or even micro/nano transactions required for the Internet of Things.

2. Low number of transactions per second, which prevents it from being used in everyday life.

3. A centralised cryptocurrency that can be controlled by a few mining pools, if they wanted to.

4. An unsustainable energy consumption, even if all miners would switch to clean energy.

You have not listed the no.1 reason (that is the one given by the OP). The single biggest threat to the existence of cryptocurrency comes from the government. Being a resident of India, I know how difficult it can get if the government starts harassing the cryptocurrency users. Last year, around 100,000 individuals received notices from the income tax department as the government closed down the local exchanges and retrieved the user data from them. Banks closed down any savings account that was even remotely linked to crypto-trading and as a result most of the trading has either gone underground or has shifted to P2P.
6660  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We should Unit against Scam Project As a Crypto Community?? on: June 27, 2019, 03:24:48 AM
I think that for now, there are several threads in this forum that inform us about the scams, it may include the projects that are considered as scams with several reasons and problems or proves. However, it may be only done after there are some investors entered on the projects. Of course, every investor has known this risk and it is very difficult to be ignored.

Obviously there are Scam Accusation and Investigation sub-forums here, but the chances of scam victims getting any sort of compensation is very remote. The crypto-anonymous and liquid nature of cryptocurrencies makes it extremely difficult for the authorities to detain the scammers and seize their holdings. And things get further complicated when the coins move from one country to another, and if both the nations have differing legal clauses regarding cryptocurrency. In the end, it is up to us to take the necessary precautions to prevent getting scammed.
