This is part of a reply from wareen that i got by PM when i had the thread locked.
Gonna post it here for posterity and because it seems you guys will like it

At least your thread got me interested to take a look at some block chain statistics - the longest time between two blocks was over 25 hours! That was back in the early months of Bitcoin but nevertheless interesting. Since about January 2010 it was relatively stable with one exception in August 2010 where I think there was some attack due to a bug in the client which had to be fixed manually. The longest interval within the stable period was on May 15th 2011 with 94 minutes!

This forum needs to have some REAL staff behind it...

I reported the thread at look at us, still here replying to this shit.

I vote for new staff that actually cares about the forum and it's users and not only about pushing their own agendas and businesses!

6664  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the first Bitcoin network attack just happening? on: July 16, 2011, 04:15:38 PM
30 minutes? That's just three times the expected value...

Everything's fine - there have been incidents of no block being found for over 60 minutes so don't worry and maybe use the time to read up on some statistics.

When no block is found for half a day we should probably start getting suspicious Wink

What got me thinking was the 2 blocks found at the exact same time, not the 30min. wait Wink

Edit: maybe i should not say exact same time because obviously the last block had to be found at least a nano-second later  Cheesy
6665  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Bitcoin Pyramid [alpha-stage, 0.01 btc for first newcomers!] on: July 16, 2011, 04:07:28 PM
...increasing the threshold to 0.021 btc?

Would be better Wink
6666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Is the first Bitcoin network attack just happening? on: July 16, 2011, 04:00:39 PM
Look at this http://blockexplorer.com/

2 last blocks found at the exact same time and now, more than 30min later, no more blocks... WTF?!?!  Huh

Well, something's not right in this picture.

Before someone says it's a block explorer error, well, it isn't. I sent a transaction like 25minutes ago, and still no confirmation, the block number in my client match the one in block explorer.

Would someone be kind enough to use it? Wink
6668  Economy / Gambling / Re: Heads or Tails [Win 400% your initial bet!] on: July 16, 2011, 03:42:04 PM
I don't get it, if it's heads or tails then the possible win is 200% of your initial bet at max, right? Where's the other 200% coming from, do you flip two coins?

That's possible because he's most likely a SCAMMERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR... Just go to his profile and watch the threads he started since he registered 2 days ago...

I said to sell, when you are a buyer the things are different.

I can accept that people would post saying they want to buy BTC, but people posting that they want to SELL, well, it seems fishy to me, specially when the dudes registered 2 days ago Wink

Selling 110 BTC. Paypal, money first. See my trading record here http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=11984

How can you have a trading record if you registered less than 48hrs ago?

I'm registered longer than that and i don't have a "trading record"...  Roll Eyes

It seems to me i need to hurry up finishing the Bitcoin-Shitlist website. I suspect all these dudes will end up there...   Tongue

I just quoted your post here http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=29055.msg369511#msg369511
6674  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I don't trust mybitcoin, but how come so many trust it? on: July 16, 2011, 01:42:28 PM
I lost a LOT more than .5 bitcoins.  As far as I'm concerned, anyone using mybitcoin.com deserves to get ripped off after all of this bad publicity.  The site is a scam.

All you say is that you "lost a lot more than .5bitcoins", but you never give details. That doesn't help your credibility, especially after I don't know how many people asked you to say HOW MUCH you lost.

For now you are just ONE MORE troll, like so many around here that scream scam at the first sign of trouble...

EDIT: Just found this in the Newbies board
Hi, I actually wanted to reply to this thread : http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=26224.60 to say that I have also had a coin disappear at Mybitcoin, but as I don't post on the forum much, I'm limited to the newbie section (if someone could move or quote this over there that would be good). I pulled all my coins out of mybitcoin when I noticed the missing coin, but I still have access to my account, and I correctly received mining payouts both before and after the missing coin (I didn't catch it immediately). The coin shows up in the block explorer here: http://blockexplorer.com/address/1HgDuxLfG3E4kkN5VkToxeFPDN2aWBTjPz . It's easy to spot as it's the 1.01 coin one as opposed to an even 1.00. So, I know that the pool payed out on time to the correct address, but my mybitcoin account balance did not increase. I can't really prove it to the general public, but there is no record of the coin ever arriving at mybitcoin, so it's not a case of my account being compromised by a third party. That should be easily verifiable by someone at mybitcoin. I've sent two support tickets using the messaging system in Mybitcoin with the latter containing all of the information above. It should be an open and shut case, but I have not gotten any response, and it's been almost 2 weeks since the coin should have arrived and about a week since I messaged support.

Has anyone else had problems with coins disappearing at Mybitcoin or any luck actually getting support?

Now, this is how non-trolls complaint: THEY GIVE DETAILS. Learn from it lettucebee. And before you ask, yes, i did read your thread...

BTC Trader? You there?

Well, according to OP, the auction has ended.
Starting time: July 8, 8:33AM   (time of post, webboard time)
duration: 7 days
starting price: 10 btc
Bid:  only 1 at 10 btc, by me.

11 BTC bid. I'm currently the holder.

OMG, this is what i call an auction...  Roll Eyes

@Exo & @Btc trader: Why wasn't the 11BTC bid posted here & Why wasn't DonnyCMU allowed to cover it if he wanted?
6677  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Use code XBC, not BTC for bitcoins on: July 16, 2011, 01:48:21 AM
Furthermore I don't like the usage of currency symbols anyway since they are applied differently anywhere which only leeds to confusion and misunderstanding in a global community

Exp: USA: $1'000'000.00
         EU:   1.000.000,00 €

I'll take it that you are not from the EU, or else you would know that the Euro symbol (€) is always used BEFORE the ammount, like this: €5.000.000,00(five million euros and zero cents) Wink

Hm, funny thing. I don't know in which part of the EU you are, but in Germany the Euro symbol is always behind the numbers.

Actually this constitutes my point - too confusing.

I'm in Portugal, altho i lived for several years in The Netherlands and they use the sign before the amount, like they do in Belgium. Can't speak about other places cause i haven't been there. But i remember when the Euro was introduced in Portugal and they specificaly said that the symbol should laways come before the amount, so i was thinking it would be like that in the whole EU. It seems it isn't after all   Undecided
Never visited Germany, so i can't tell.
6678  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Who/Where did the BTC come from? on: July 16, 2011, 01:10:50 AM
Is there any way to track where I got some BTC from?  I checked my wallet this evening, and I received .03 BTC to an address that I haven't used before and haven't given out to anyone.  I know more addresses are generated when you send coins to someone else, so I understand where the address could have come from.  I'm assuming the new address was generated when I sent some bitcoins to my Android wallet.  But why would I receive BTC to this address?

You got them from me by mistake! Please give them back! j/k

1 - Click your Bitcoin shortcut icon with your right mouse icon
2 - Open the Properties window and in the Destination field add -rescan to the end.
3 - Apply the changes.
4 - Click the shortcut icon to start Bitcoin as you normally do
5 - Wait for it to rescan the whole blockchain
6 - ? ? ? ? ? ?
7 - Profit ?!?!

6680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is This Bitcoin Weekly Comic Crap? on: July 16, 2011, 12:57:51 AM
If you want quality you can start by dumping that shitty self-made script you use for the website and install wordpress(or joomla, or drupal, or) on the server.
Next, get a free theme for you chosen script, i'm sure even the shitiest free theme is better that what you have there.
Next, dump disqus, enough datamining, k?
Last, get someone that knows what a joke is to write the text for the comics.

Was this constructive enough, or are you just going to tell me to GTFO like you did to everybody else?
