6681  Local / Servicios / RIP, Poloniex (nuevos datos requeridos) on: May 28, 2018, 03:36:57 PM

6682  Economy / Service Discussion / R.I.P. Poloniex (new face-image requirements) on: May 28, 2018, 03:29:54 PM
Some days ago, I received an email entitled: "Pononiex Account Alert: verification needed"

In the email, they sent me some instructions regarding the new restrictions they're implementing their service. They give me 7 days to send to them both a governmental ID (my passport, for instance) and a photo of my own face along with a paper with the date wrote in it. There is no option if you want to use Poloniex, for in the mean site you will find this:

Given the recent information leaks scandals, it is awesome they ask for a personal photo of your face. Ok, due to recent regulations, the user real name has to be shared, for the law is taking this way. But a pick? What's the point of sharing with them my ugly face? Why is so urgent to them?

Anyway, this is crystal clear to me: RIP, Poloniex. I will no longer use their services, as long as other exchangers continue offering anonymity.
6683  Other / Meta / Re: The new Ivory Tower project on: May 28, 2018, 02:17:19 PM

Lets see what the general opinion is about this. The participating member could have two posts/threads attributed to him, and these could attract merit from other awarders, so the potential is greater than the 5 I am offering for an Ivory post. As a merit source, I am able to support several submitted posts, and ensure that they will receive the merits. The posts will have to be of a fairly high standard to be accepted though.

Agree. And what about the thematic? Maybe we can propose in the Fit to Talk project "the topic of the week", in which a thematic is proposed and we encourage people to research and build a great thread about this proposed one.
The winner one will be on the Ivory and also will receive some prices in the Fit To Talk project.
6684  Other / Meta / Re: The new Ivory Tower project on: May 28, 2018, 02:06:14 PM

Seems great to me. This is going to require a lot of effort from the users involved and the reward is fair enough.
As you are suggesting members from other languages be welcomed, maybe this same text in Spanish and Italian can be useful.

Be patient. This is a great initiative, a great idea, and it will take time. If you want me to spread the rules in the Spanish board, just say the word.
6685  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: Translations of some of the best posts on the local language boards. on: May 28, 2018, 01:50:03 PM

I read this one a while ago. I am sorry but this does not deserve merit in my view. Maybe some other member will consider it.

Yep is far from perfect, but this is from a newbie. Maybe I'm so used to read the newbies in the English section just typing non-senses lines that I feel it be constructive, intelligent and with a point, something more and more strange each day.
The other one, yep, has a merit, very deserving, but if you feel the best way to be on topic (I mean, crypto only), this is a nice suggestion to me. We are just trying to figure out how to make it: give some vision to good posters, no matter the language, and also merit some good young members and encourage them to keep going on.
The reality is we still cannot develop a whole system of how are we doing to do that. Besides, JC is really interested in the political situation in Venezuela, for instance, so good topics with that topic will be probably merited as well.
I think the crypto world is not only about how it works, what software to use, which coin to choose, but about society and how the mere existence of this emerging new economic system is affecting people thoughts and behave. Each technological change implies a social one. And this part is really interesting, as well, and needs to be analyzed in a Bitcoin discussion forum like this one, for the social behaviors and changes are directly related to new technology.
But that's my point of view. And we don't have to agree, the more different points of view we have, the more different approaches the new tech receives, and, also, the more different kind of members will be here in the forum, so, the more interesting it gets  Wink

A newbie with a brain  Grin (Spanish Board): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3922124.0

Translation:
"Do not repeat the SUPER ADVISORS history in the ICO

In the long road we have undertaken in the world of blockchain and cryptocurrencies, we have found a recurring theme, which apparently is a vice that comes from something older than the original idea of these projects.

In many societies, the state pretended to make us believe that citizens were and are unable to protect their interests, and this incapacity could only be covered by superior beings, called in ancient times wise, touched by the grace of the gods, in the Currently, these are social protection institutions, which, for example, protect the worker from himself, keeping and controlling social benefits, since if they receive it, they will not be able to manage it.
In closer cases, there is traditional banking, where not long ago, a specific surname was required, or the membership of a defined club, which would allow the foundation of a bank, taken to extremes in the form of banking associations and other , where they come to demand the incorporation of people with "trajectory" within the work team, because otherwise, there could be a disaster, since more nobody knows about that topic.

All these aberrations of the financial system, were those that the cryptocurrencies in their fundamental objective, wanted to abolish, to remove from the control of few the control of the personal finances of each and every one of us.
So much so, that as a fable or reality its founder disappears from the map once the birth of this new technology is consolidated.

But the customs of the past, seem to have remained, today, for each new venture is necessary to have a group of "experts" in the field. A group of self-anointed advisors in super beings, who for the few who have not tried to innovate in this area, will see that the cost is not low, at least we are talking about 5% of the company that will be in the hands of these people, which do not work for contribution to the technology, if not, they have a price, that if you do not cover it, it happens that the market will not accept you.
the projects are evaluated by the associated work team, it does not seem bad, but how many Ponzi schemes have been made in front of these supposed advisors, or those advisors did not share a cubicle with which today they talk about a speculative bubble, they are experts who are in favor, not against?

The market requires new methods of evaluation, more individual responsibility in the evaluation of projects and ICOs, we can not expect everything to be chewed and protected by a superior being to be held responsible for, we must be able to evaluate and assume our risks.

This new era requires us not to change the old actors for new ones that do the same game, and create the same club to which very few will be invited, unless they pay the membership, we can not just change one for another, we must change the scheme and assume total control of our decisions based on our evaluation, and not the evaluation of a third party, which sometimes does not even evaluate, only charges for it."

(I used Google translator 'cause I don't have much time, sorry for that)
6687  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: Translations of some of the best posts on the local language boards. on: May 27, 2018, 04:14:33 PM
Another good one in the Spanish board, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3514647.0
She's talking about cloud-mining with no consent and which kind of websites have this practice. Coinhive seems to be an enterprise dedicated to cloud mining in some websites. At the very moment you get into the site, they put immediately your computer into mining, making the computer suffer and stealing your computational power from you. There are some websites in which they ask for your permission, but, apparently, there are few.
in the post, she also explains how to discover the plugin by searching into the code. Maybe we should ask her to translate it, but, due her rank, I'm afraid she cannot post in here.
6688  Local / Trading y especulación / Re: Estados Unidos investigan posible manipulación de precios on: May 27, 2018, 04:02:15 PM
6689  Other / Meta / Re: An alternative project for international newbie post promotion. on: May 27, 2018, 03:50:44 PM
will start a thread in serious discussion or Ivory Tower ( which do you think would be the best ? ), and I will quote the post from the beginners board in full. Any merits to be awarded can go to the original poster on the beginners board. My listing thread will be self moderated, and will only contain the quoted posts, apart from an introductory post by me,

Well, given the concern from senior members regarding good newcomers and how to find them, maybe this is a matter for the Meta section because it is part of a "forum issue". Of course, a self-moderated post is obligatory to stop all this begging newbies and shitposters in general.
Besides, Meta has been used for issues about scam accusations, merit abuse and misuses in general. Maybe this is time to use the meta as a way of finding good posters too, so we all can see it and give them some merits.
Also, I think this maybe should be a sticked post in some section, (Meta, under my opinion, should be the best, for, again, this concern the functionality of the forum, but maybe a sticked one and self-moderated in the Begginers&help board can work as well).
The problem I see with the Ivory Tower idea is it getting kind of messy, for it will provoke repeated posts and can be confusing for some newbies, unable to reach the Ivory Tower. Anyway, since you already have created the post in the Ivory Tower, let's wait and see, it is an experiment and probably will take some time.

Let's take a breath and wait for others to express themselves. I believe we are many users preoccupied in making the forum a better place.
6690  Other / Meta / Re: Merit is useless, only for those old members. Please remove merit system! on: May 27, 2018, 03:12:56 PM
<...>

Puf, another shitposter-trolling newbie. This is the first time I agree with making the Meta section for JR Members and above only. If not, I'm afraid it is going to be like this each day, and good posts are going to get lost in between all this crap, like in the "Bitcoin Discussion" board, a lost one.

I'm afraid many of you are right: we need to close some boards to newbies, even if it implicates some collateral damage.

6691  Other / Archival / Re: Is this allowed? "An unofficial list of merit sources" on: May 26, 2018, 01:39:54 PM

If a merit source decides to stay anonymous, probably is for a good reason. Why are you so interested in making them public? It should be their choice, not yours.
I don't know the reasons (probably JC is right), but the point is: is not for you to decide.
6692  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it ok? on: May 26, 2018, 01:35:07 PM

This is what happens bro.. My posts are not for rank or activity, my posts are my bounty reports. I have to post 2x or 3x within 1hour in order to be counted my reports from different company .im going to be late and my repirts will not be counted any more if i cant reach the deadline.it cant be consider?

Nice, you have described why the forum is in this terrible condition.

You can post whatever, but this is call spam and useless posting, as well as crap, or shitposter: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1940599;sa=showPosts;start=120

6693  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get merit? on: May 26, 2018, 01:28:22 PM
How do you expect to earn any merit with this posting activity? To be in a bounty or answering with a useless line with no insight at all will give you zero merits.
Take a critical look at your activity: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1256004;sa=showPosts

Besides, merit trading is forbidden in the forum. Selling/buying merits will give you eventually red trust.
You have 115 posts. There is nothing of value, not even one of them. But I believe with 115 posts you should be able to use the search button and to discover how many posts about merit have been already answered in the forum, so this one, again, is useful.
6694  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why my post are removing? on: May 26, 2018, 01:23:30 PM
Probably because, like this one, is a repeated post.
Look at how many posts like this I was able to find in less than 3 minutes (by using the search button):
- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3310762.0
- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3781126.0
- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3368057.0
-https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3368452

And the list goes on and on...
Besides, as it has been told to you, your post history sucks.
6695  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Natural Disasters are not natural and all made by US Government? on: May 25, 2018, 03:22:49 PM
All kind of conspiracy theories are quite popular between wide groups of people. Modern anthropologists and folklorists supose that conspiracy theories are the combination of quasi-religious and rational attempts to describe the reality. Conspirological world outlook is unfalsifiable. Absence of any evidences is not a reason to doubt in a theory, because the Government (aliens, illuminati, etc) are so powerful that can hide the truth forever.
Anyway, conspiracy theories can be very thrilling (especially if you invent your own). They can influence to the politics and public opinion. That's why such ideas are important as a social factor, but not as a physical fact.

Excellent words. And also, those who decide to believe in it probably should feel impotent against all those "forces" trying to destroy the world. Sometimes I wonder: if the governments are behind the "chemtrails", earthquakes, hurricanes and so, aren't they messing with themselves? I mean, it is kind of stupid to launch chemical products into a population from 10.000 feet above, for you can't control where it is going to fall!!

But, anyway, as you well said, when it used to be gods (the god of war, the god of the sea, the god of the rain), now there are conspirators.
6696  Other / Meta / Re: Forum Merited Messages- Does size count? on: May 24, 2018, 05:24:15 PM
What has come out of this analysis is that most of the senior members are correct. The problem is not that there aren't enough merits, but that they aren't being awarded. I suspect that most responsible members who still have some Smerit will make awards if they see a post that they think is worth it. That means that there are two obvious problems. There aren't enough decent posts worthy of awards, and those that are worthy aren't being seen. This has been my feeling for some time.

There are decent posts, but they are hidden in between a lot of crappy ones. It is insane to see how the worst posts are the bigger ones. If you, for instance, write an insightful post in the Politics&society board, probably it will not be answered.
I've spent the last week searching for good posts in there, also I have written one trying to begin a debate about the privacy and social media, but there are no answers to this, for it seems to be difficult to answer, I'm afraid.
In conclusion, I can say that many good posts are hidden and get lost fast, for most of the users in here prefer to answer to a shitty megrathreads with a couple of words instead of taking a time to think and being interactive in a mindful debate.
To think implies an effort, I'm afraid, and most of the people in here are not willing to do their best but to gain activity in order to join some bounty.
This is sad, but there are still some good newbies needing rescue, maybe, jaja.

6697  Other / Meta / Re: Why can't we be friends? on: May 24, 2018, 05:06:53 PM
<...>

No, man, this is not Facebook. I think there are enough tools already to follow the people whose work is interesting for you. For instance, I always spend some time in taking a look at the recent posts of the people I admire the most, for sure I will find something useful or insightful in there.
Following and being followed is a concept to another kind of interaction, a one I completely despise, as Instagram, Facebook and such.
In here, the point is the discussion, not the personal "achievements" of the members being counted by such a pathetic stuff as "likes" or "followers".
6698  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Post removing on: May 24, 2018, 03:49:02 PM
Probably your post has been erased because it was a repeated one.
For instance, this one: the question about deleted post has been repeatedly answered in the Begginers&help and the Meta board, so, in fact, this one thread should be removed as well.

Some examples of the same topic I have just for a fast look:
- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3310762.0
- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3781126.0
- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3368057.0

It took me less than 3 minutes to find out 4 related posts just by using the "search button".
So, probably, the problem is yours.
6699  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Userfriendly Platform for Beginners to Buy Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin on: May 24, 2018, 03:37:46 PM
For Beginners there is Cryptizy.com. userfriendly Platform to buy cryptocurrencies. The Service exists since 2016 and the website was launched last January.
Feel free to visit Cryptizy.com/en to know more about the buy, sell and transfer options. There are 7 Major Cryptocurrencies listed.

It doesn't belong to this board but to the Services announcements one.
You should move your thread into the correct one if you don't want it to be deleted.
Use the "move" button below and select the correct one. If you are not sure about where it must go, then erase the topic until you know better how the forum works.
6700  Other / Meta / Re: Another initiative for newbie and junior members. on: May 24, 2018, 03:32:51 PM

Is the Fit to talk user here in the forum? For he absolutely can post it on the Begginers&help board, it is very informative.
I think he should be the one posting it as well as the link to his blog, from the post is coming. Also, all the Fit To Talk users might tell the whole history of the thread, I mean, if they come from some sort of corrections in Fit to Talk, I believe they should talk about it.

For instance, the user makes the thread starting with:
"This post has been corrected by the Fit To talk project users in order to make it more comprehensible and well-written. If you want to join the project (the link)"
And, after that, he can copy his/her own post.

I don't think it can be seen as scamming, for the Fit To Talk project has no money involved, but the will of helping others to improve their skills and to use them in here, so we can put a small seed in here, perhaps, and those truly interested in creating some good stuff will know where to go to learn more about the English grammar and so.
