Hello sir, I would like to buy a coffee
Ok, that will be $6
Ok, great. Now give me anywhere from 3-90 minutes for confirmation
Lol! That is the main roadblock for bitcoin to be accepted as a mainstream currency. The bitcoin network is entirely controlled and managed by the miners. So they do whatever they wish. This type of monopoly is not a good sign for the consumers. We are now forced to pay insanely higher fees to confirm our transaction. So in your post, for a $6 coffee the person will have to pay somewhere $9 in total including the fees and then comes the waiting time. That is the reason why people are moving to some other coins which are technologically superior that bitcoin.

If all the BTC supply is 100% mined, would miner still be motivated to mine/verify transactions? They only receive the transaction fees, no block reward right?
When a block is mined, it consists of block rewards as well as miner fees. Once 100% bitcoin is mined, only fees component will remain. MIners will have to run a full node to support the bitcoin network. here you have raised a very valid question. I too am not very sure how bitcoin will survive once all the blocks are mined. Probably people will have to move to another crypto currency like ETH or Ripple or any other coins to continue the crypto movement. A new currency will take over bitcoin then.

Bitcoin is dropping! what to expect?! https://www.bloomberg.com/…/bitcoin-drops-as-south-korea-sa… I found this very interesting article on the web, check it out and let me know what you think ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I think it is due to the festive season bitcoin price is dropping. People are selling off their holdings to meet their expenses during the year end festive season. That is the reason why we are seeing a high number of transactions are adding to the Network and the fees is rising sky high. But this price drop has provided an immense opportunity for the investors like us to buy at a cheaper cost and average out our holding price. Currently we are not seeing the effect of that buying spree in bitcoin price but I am sure that the situation will start improving after the first week of January for sure.

It does no matter for good cause or bad cause because what matter is bitcoin are not made for bad cause, if thare some peoples who use bitcoin for bad cause then it is not the blame for bitcoin, just like peoples who make and sell knife where knife can be used in the kitchen or can be used to hurt peoples.
I'm now using bitcoin to gather funds to advance the movement I'm on.
The subject line of this thread and the post body simple doesn't match with each other. However, let me tell you that bitcoin doesn't guarantee full anonymity. Because everything is available through a public ledger called blockchain. So all your transactions are recorded in the blockchain and can be easily checked by anyone in the world. So bitcoin is not anonymous. You may want to use mixing service which will ensure some level of anonymity though. Also my question to you is that, if you are not doing anything illegal why do you want it to be secret? If you are doing anything for a good cause, you can do it openly. It is certainly depends on the people who want to use bitcoin for the good and bad cause, but as I have mentioned before, bitcoin is not anonymous so you may not be able to hide your activities properly using bitcoin. If you want to be truly anonymous, please use some altcoins with integrated TOR network.

In near future I planed to mining coins. I do not know anything about that. For begin please tell me what is the best processor for that job. Thanks! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Bitcoin mining using CPU is not profitable anymore. You will end up burning electricity only but you won't receive anything in return. Currently the best CPU available in the market is Intel i7 8th Generation. But that won't produce required hash rates for finding even a single block. So if you have a plan to mine bitcoin using CPU, please drop it. However, if you are planning to mine altcoins, then you may use the above mentioned CPU, but I am doubtful about the end result. Most of the altcoins are significantly pre-mined so the difficulty level will eat up your profits. please visit the below website to know more about the difficulty level and mining profitability to decide for yourself. https://www.coinwarz.com/charts/difficulty-chartsIf you are planning to enter in to mining, use mining rigs. It will be expensive at the initial level. But slowly you will see the profits.

It is expected that Bitcoin may be legal in India as Indian Govt. imposed TAX on transaction of cryptocurrency.
I would be the happiest person on earth if it happens. I too came across such news from some national news papers bureaucrats these are not certain till date. They are just speculating. It is true that Indian finance ministry has formed a committee to debate on crypto currency and to draft a recommendation to be presented in front of the parliamentary committee. However, Indian government is run by old bureaucrats who has limited brain power to understand the power of crypto currency. So I have a very little expectations from them. But if India decides to tax on bitcoin and legalize it, it will bring a huge positive impact on overall Cryptocurrency market.

In longer term, ETH value can even overrun bitcoin's value. Both of this coins are created for different reasons and ETH has a lot of real world usage while bitcoin has become a store of value nowadays. ETH is widely used to create tokens to fund new businesses. Also the transactions are superfast and lot more cheaper than bitcoin which increases its acceptability to the frequent transactors.
Also if we see the market cap, ETH is holding the second position since a long time now. Which proves that ETH is widely accepted and praised by the crypto community. So I believe, ETH can certainly reach the current level of bitcoin, probably not soon but surely in long run.

Hi,
It seems BTC is going to crash again. When compare the btc charts in the last several years, it is common to crash in late Dec and January. Is that happening again? According to the price action, btc dump possible at this time. Keep watch btc.
Even I noticed the same. I believe it is due to the festive season that plays the background role here. People usually tend to buy gifts and goodies during this time of the year and those don't have liquid cash in hand, prefers to cash out some of their holdings. However, the chart also suggests that the price rebounds once the festive season is over. Around middle of the January. So those who have extra cash in hand, it is a good time to buy in.

Just one question, why the signature looks stolen from trade.io token?? Is it just another scam ICO who just want to earn some quick bucks and doesn't have the patience to create something original? I will invite some DT members to look into it.
We didn't know about it.We will ask the signature designer to create a new one for us. Sorry for the inconvenience. Plz let us know the name of the signature designer. Also plz let us know the link of his portfolio. We need to know the name if such a scammer to make sure no one else get such signature again.
