We've seen bigger martingale wins.  A guy called something like Balotelli took us for hundreds of coins.  Diablo too.

I'll dig up their charts if I can find their userids.

Here's Balotelli.  I was forgetting - he switched from using martingale to using what he called "nakowa style" and lost everything very quickly:

extremely interesting...when was this?
90BTC is a heck of an amount to win with today's prices, let alone being 90BTC down and continuing to play!

We see quite a few players with lots of coins to throw around.  I guess there are lots of early adoptors still around.

steven played from mid Feb to the end of Apr.
march player the first half of May.
the 1st charlie played in the middle of May and the 2nd at the end of May.

Interesting. The player lost ~90 btc before using martingale, and in the end got 90 btc profits, and he knew when to stop. Wink

Just curious, how did you link the accounts?
IP? deposit address? or withdrawal address?

He linked the accounts for us after I spotted that the players were playing very similarly and asked him about it.

I suspect he didn't know when to stop, kept playing, lost, and didn't keep talking to us, so we didn't get to link the losing accounts.

It's often the way that players like to talk when they're winning but go quiet when they lose, making it harder to know who is really still 'up'.

However you play, the odds aren't in your favour.  Martingale doesn't change that fact.

Of course, that doesn't mean you can't win...

We recently had a guy playing at Just-Dice.  He played on 4 different accounts, calling himself steven (user 522621), march (718719) and charlie (755590 and 764137).  He made around 74,000 bets, and ended up something like 90 BTC in profit!

Here's a chart of his play.  It took him about 21,000 bets to get into his stride and start using martingale, but once he did, it went really well.  This is typical of how martingale player charts look, only the drops are usually bigger than the rises:

Then one day he stopped playing and we've not seen him since...  Good for charlie/march/steven!  Smiley
6705  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does martingale really works? on: June 04, 2014, 05:37:20 AM
Martingale should never be used in the long run
Few bets, maybe a hundred ok...anything after that it's a no
You'll find success when you first start gambling with martingale...it's a matter of cashing out at the right time

It really depends how many times you can afford to double.

If you have 7 and start at 1, you can only afford two doubles (1 + 2 + 4 = 7) before you bust.
If you have 7 and start at 0.001, you can afford 12 or 13 doubles, and so will probably last longer before you bust.

However you play, the odds aren't in your favour.  Martingale doesn't change that fact.

This is not rly a good time to advertise .

Anyone actually thinking about this "offer": please rather go to some dice/roulette game and just bet on red Smiley

I bet on red but rolled a 6.  Now what?
6708  Economy / Gambling / Re: The Corporate Investment System Fund on: June 03, 2014, 10:51:45 PM

That was over 15 hours ago.

Where are the first two 30% payments?  Shouldn't they have been sent back to your first "investor"?

Something's wrong here.  It's almost as if this is some kind of scam!

Am I missing something here. Why didn't 1Dice1 progressively withdraw his/her winnings?

Another thing that has been bugging me, if I won as much as 1Dice1 on a gaming site, and they refused to pay, I would be a lot angrier then he/she seems to be. Perhaps 1Dice1 is a lot richer than I am.

Maybe 1dice1 was "investing" his winnings in the bankroll between playing sessions.  Why withdraw them to a wallet where the coins will sit idle if you have the option of having them "work" for you on a dice site?

The answer is obvious now ("because the dice site might steal them!") but probably wasn't at the time.

As for getting angry, I don't see how that would help 1dice1's cause.  He's at ED's mercy, so probably feels like he has to be polite to them despite how he feels.
6711  Economy / Gambling / Re: EveryDice.com | 0.99% Edge - Instant Cashout - Invest - Referral - Mobile - Fair on: June 03, 2014, 02:44:48 AM
I dont get why they would run tho, the site has BIG BIG BIG potential and they couldve just paid 1dice1 over a few weeks or months..  Huh Huh

The bankroll was meant to be funded by investors anyway, so it would have cost ED nothing to pay 1dice1 his winnings.

As I understand it, ED took commission on every bet, win or lose, so they wouldn't have been hurting at all from 1dice1's lucky run.

A user on reddit has an interesting interpretation of the truecrypt announcement:

Quote
Read between the lines? "WARNING: Using TrueCrypt is (n)ot (s)ecure (a)s it may contain unfixed security issues,"
"TrueCrypt is nsa it may contain unfixed security issues".

Oh wow!  I hadn't noticed that!

6713  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sell me your casino! Paying Up to 50 BTC. on: June 03, 2014, 01:45:16 AM
I have no interest in disclosing the information so I really didn't scam in any way.

I don't think it matters what you intend to do with the information you obtained through deception.  That doesn't change whether what you did was scamming or not:

verb: scam;
1. swindle.
"a guy that scams the elderly out of their savings"
synonyms:   swindle, cheat, deceive, trick, dupe, hoodwink, double-cross, gull; More

I would say your aim was to deceive, trick, dupe, hoodwink for sure.

As for your threat of negative trust, who cares?

There's no threat.  I'm not trying to extort you in any way.  I'm not saying "share the info with me OR ...".  I'm just honestly confused as to what the trust system is for.  Is it just for the case when someone scams coins from others?  Or is any kind of dishonesty worth recording?

I'm already in red from one transaction that the other doesn't agree with. Compared to the 100+ I did successfully including one for $5000, the one for $250 at the time, is the reason I'm in red. I told him many times I'd kindly out of pocket pay him for the $250 +10% that I don't owe but would pay out of the kindness of my heart. However, he feels he should hit the jackpot for his stupidity, not my problem and I won't pay for his acclaimed jackpot from stupidity. My offer was there but has since been rescended.

Yall can say I'm a scammer, I don't give two fucks. I've done 100+ trades under different usernames (I have 8 in total that I created AFTER kingofsports was redflagged, go for it uvwvj find em) and never had a scam accusation filed for any of them. I have no interest in scamming. I use escrow for every trade if you aren't extremely trusted so that no bullshit comes along regarding the one unhappy customer I have in my past.

I barely do any trades now that I have coinbase instant buy anyways, except when selling for large premiums on LBC.

I'm not sure what all that is about, but it's not relevant to the question at hand.

I'm not talking about any of your history, just this single case of deception:

"Hey guys I have lots of coins; sell me your site" ... "I was lying and just wanted to see what offers I would get"

That seems wrong to me, and like it might benefit others to be warned that you use these kinds of tactics to trick people.  I was curious to see if others agree that that would be a reasonable use of the trust system.
6714  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sell me your casino! Paying Up to 50 BTC. on: June 02, 2014, 11:16:52 PM
Have 235 BTC available to invest in a casino(s).

I don't actually have 200 BTC to invest.

Can't decide whether this deserves negative trust or not.

You're clearly not trustworthy making such obviously contradictory statements, but you claim to only be trying to scam people out of information, not coins.

What's the trust system for?  Is it for this kind of thing?  I really can't decide.
6715  Economy / Gambling / Re: bitZino - Bitcoin Casino - Blackjack, Roulette, 3 Card Poker, Slots and more! on: June 02, 2014, 11:12:46 PM
Is it just me or does when the price of bitcoin goes up the dealer in Black Jack gets REALLY lucky and you seem to draw shit every hand.   Very strange how that works out...  I have lost so much money at this site it's not even funny.  If you play here you might win a bit, but trust me once you start betting higher or bitcoin goes up you will mysteriously lose almost every hand.  I've seen so many times 4 or 5 BJ's in a row here.

It's not just you.

Sometimes (random variable A) appears to be correlated to (random variable B) even though it isn't.

Did you ever notice how when you decide to cycle to work it rains more often than when you drive?

I'm beginning to doubt whether the weather is even provably fair.
6716  Economy / Gambling / Re: The Corporate Investment System Fund on: June 02, 2014, 09:49:29 PM

At least pirateat40's scheme was kind of slightly plausible if you didn't think too hard.

But this?

Nobody offers 20% interest per day.  Are you kidding me?

Do you think they chose to shut down for the same reason LavaBit did?

That would be my guess.
6720  Other / Off-topic / Re: TrueCrypt development ended - now insecure? on: June 02, 2014, 03:12:15 AM
Maybe you should look here:
"The first phase of the TrueCrypt audit found no serious problems with the Windows build of TrueCrypt."

http://www.pcworld.com/article/2304851/so-long-truecrypt-5-encryption-alternatives-that-can-lock-down-your-data.html

There is a theory that the TrueCrypt developers were approached by a government body and forced to weaken the security of TrueCrypt, and also forced not to tell anyone about it.

And so this would be their way of them telling us about it without actually telling us.

The fact that they recommend we switch to a closed-source Microsoft solution is just laughable.  Their advice for Linux users is "search for some other package".

Something fishy is definitely going on.
