Bitcoin hits $24000 in Iran after government recognizes cryptocurrency mining as an industry
Link for the news https://ambcrypto.com/bitcoin-btc-hits-24000-in-iran-after-government-recognizes-cryptocurrency-mining-as-an-industry/amp/

Check it

It has happened in Venezuela and Zimbabwe as well. You need to understand why Bitcoin is premium at those places. Its because they are in economic turmoil now.

For Iran, I see that they are using bitcoin to circumvent the trade embargo imposed to them by US and the West. So its time for them other outlet similar to what Venezuela did, having Petro coins. Also you will also wonder, why they suddenly embrace crypto and make a sudden U-turn? Initially they said that they are totally against crypto and now they are changing their tunes? So don't be fooled by the premium price right now in Iran because there's a lot of thing going on from behind, besides you can't do arbitrage here if you are thinking of ways to make money.
6702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: September 30th ETF decision + when to buy on: September 05, 2018, 11:12:13 PM
I have 2 Bitcoin and know we have great prices right now (even though we are over 7k) and I would like to buy into my favorite Alt coin however I'm nervous there will be some sort of drama  surrounding the September 30th decision regarding the ETF.

First, congrats for having that 2 BTC, protect it at all cost. Yes, there will be a lot of drama surrounding the decision. Others think that it could make or break this market. If I'm in your shoes, I will wait after the decision. Why in case of a rejection, the price could go down so that is a perfect buying point.

How would you guys buy in?  All in now?  Half now half later?  I'm stuck and not sure how to proceed.

It's really up to you, in case the price go to bottom and you have the funds then I will go full 1 BTC hard. But if you don't have enough money, then maybe half now half later is a good strategy, its a win-win actually.
6703  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: September 04, 2018, 09:50:12 AM
Hello coins.ph

Can you please confirmed this?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5006147.0

Someone posted that he got e-mail claiming to be from info@coins.ph. But the individual said he/she doesn't have any account on coins.ph. Can you shed light so that this FUD or whatever news can finally laid to rest?
6704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Discuss a bit about altcoin on: September 04, 2018, 09:38:09 AM
The altcoin market today is almost no longer eager for investors to participate, they always try to avoid them, they no longer continue their investment work because the market dropped to the lowest level.

I wouldn't say that they are avoiding them, its not the market is in the bear market, investors are very reluctant. But if you look at the bright side, its a perfect time to buy and hold long term or do day trading, Its up to the individual which best fits his goal in this market, Long or Short term.

What we are seeing is that investors putting their money on ICO and then immediately dump to take the profits. I mean this is the only reason why we are seeing coins like Ethereum which is the best coin for investing in ICO project take a plunge this year.
6705  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is this real Satoshi twitter handle? on: September 02, 2018, 10:53:35 PM
I found this twitter handle a few months ago
Code:
https://twitter.com/satoshi

which claims to be own by the founder "Satoshi Nakamoto" and I've been following it ever since.

What you are your thoughts... I know there are lots of "Faketoshi(s)" out there Grin

Just looked at the Joined Date, and why would Satoshi suddenly shows after so many years of "hiding". So its obviously fake and no matter how many times we dig into Satoshi, the more we won't find him.
6706  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Verge: calm before the storm? on: September 02, 2018, 12:00:18 PM
I open this thread about Verge:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4995413.msg45059916#msg45059916

But it seems no one cares and know nothing about the current developments that will push the price of the coin.

So I hope that those who hold this coin is very happy with the recent news and the price spike in the last couple of days. Not just Verge but the whole altcoins seems to be recovering now, perhaps this is the start of the rise of the market again.

Verge [XVG] releases developer updates; Verge to Bitcoin Core version 0.13 rebasing completed

In a Medium post, Core Developer Swen van Zanten stated that the team has begun work on the Insight API client. The client will be used to communicate with hosted Verge nodes.

Further, Zanten mentioned that Insight API client which is built particularly for Bitcoin by BitPay, can now be used with Verge. The upcoming codebase of Verge will be fully compatible with Bitcoin.

It looks like its time for XVG to go to the moon with this news.

What are you thoughts about this development?

Will this push the price of XVG again?

I'm not familiar with XVG, I hope someone can chime it about this latest developments.
6708  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Determinations of KYC and AML on: August 31, 2018, 07:35:37 AM
The KYC or AML process is now standard practice for any legitimate ICO looking to raise funds. These processes not only benefit the project implementing them but also help to protect those with interests within the project.

Even though the crypto space is largely unregulated, it doesn’t mean that we can’t behave and conduct ourselves as any normally regulated sector. It’s all of our responsibility to ensure that we protect the ICO and crypto space as stakeholders. In order to do that, ICOs and projects need to implement a KYC or AML process.
I agree, but wouldnt you say there are added risk to collecting data of users. Lets say the data gets breached; what's next? Wouldn't the company implementing the KYC/AML be held liable. Also, instead of doing kYC/AML why not just restrict the companies that require them; primarily US and China.

Yes, there's a big risk on investors or even bounty hunters if ever such hacks occurs:

https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/83ybwn/shady_dadi_ico_server_got_hacked_huge_data_breach/

https://thenextweb.com/hardfork/2018/02/07/sentinel-chain-ico-leak-passport/

Of course the project or company should be held accountable because you put trust in them that they are going to secure your personal data. I guess ICO than are requiring KYC now are making it more riskier on our end.

I think some ICO's are also doing some restrictions as well. You can't join if you are amongst the country they don't allowed.
6709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop SCAM in the ICO market on: August 30, 2018, 10:35:31 AM
Perhaps if the OP can provide some concrete evidence that they have called a lot of scam ICO's then its going to be easy for us to take him seriously. However, it doesn't make sense to come out with another ICO and raised funds (correct if me I'm wrong), to fight against scammy one.

You can call them anytime here in the forum and post proof that they are indeed scammers with fake teams, plagiarised white papers, github repositories with nothing to show or updates, etc.

Its hard to stop those ICO's, they are like 2 steps ahead, but doing due diligence is our best weapon and this forum's Scam Accusations thread is a good way to snoop https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0 and see ICO projects being mentioned as a fraud.
6710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Volumes are growing. on: August 30, 2018, 10:23:59 AM
The volume will start to increase once the Chinese Ghost month is over and that is by September 9. This festival started August 11 and Asians not only Chinese who joins this festivity stop making business decisions to avoid bad luck. Price of Bitcoin is also affected by this festivity.

I'm not really sure if there's a correlation between festivities and bitcoin pump. This year alone, everyone thought that we can go back again after the end of Chinese New Year, but it didn't happened.

This is a good thing indeed for the people and the market. That means the investors are now having an interest in the market and that the market is getting stable again.

Might be the case but I don't think is the major contributory factor to rise if even we are going to see a good price. There's has to be something of a catalyst, that will really swayed investors sentiments to renewed their interest on the market again, Hopefully this could be the approval of ETFs, but if you looked at more senior members here, they are not sold and probably we might see a rejection just like they rejected 9 before the Van Eyck/Solid X proposal due on end of September.
6711  Economy / Reputation / Re: ICOForums.net bounty manager Account farming, abusing merits, Cheating campaign on: August 30, 2018, 06:13:26 AM
Hold the phone... Since when did BigThickRick get pulled into all this Iamsedii garbage? There is no proof that BigThickRick is associated with Iamsedii by anything other than they both did the icolist.guru posts... Come on now people...

How about the evidence in first page of this thread? Not enough to link those 2 accounts?

Guess what, the drama still continues but from what I read, people haven't get paid yet. At the end of the day, ICOforums will have a lot of catching up to do to be able to regain their reputation.
6712  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: We'd love to get some feedback for our new Start-up! on: August 30, 2018, 05:31:35 AM
The first thing that I've noticed is that your website is not secure.
Edit: Sorry it has been answered already.

So its looks like odesk or whatever its called today, but its more focus on blockchain technology developers so its unique. However, when I try to click "F.A.Q" and "about us", its not responding, it is still under construction? Or probably add like "T.O.S" as well so that potential clients will know everything beforehand.

6713  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Some Bulls Expect Bitcoin to Fall Below $5,000 Prior to Big Rally on: August 30, 2018, 04:56:33 AM
First, there's no so called experts in this field. Most of them are just speculators, making bold predictions to also fit into their agenda.

Second, I surmise that in order for bitcoin to rise dramatically again, it needs a tipping point. It really have to rock-bottom allowing investors and speculators to enter the picture with interest again because the price is too tempting and swoop and take advantage of the situation to be a bag holder and stash even more.

@BitcoinPanther, if the author is giving us fair warning then its good, but the title is somewhat misleading. You will initially thought it was creating panic and fear amongst investors specially noobs.

6714  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Bounty Hunter Problem on: August 29, 2018, 09:57:00 PM
I would call it a dilemma, bounty hunters have 2 choices, either dump their coins one they got it or seriously but the risk of having this tokens plummeting is there. We have witnessed a lot of ICO campaigns never got to reach their ICO price again because of the sudden pump of bounty hunters.

But there are tokens worth holding but its really difficult for bounty hunters because we are in the bear season. Everyone is dumping as soon as they got their hands on their tokens. You can't blame them though, they have work very hard weeks after weeks so they deserved their payments.
6715  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Bitcoin/ Crypto ATM's on: August 29, 2018, 08:31:11 PM
Do people actually use these machines or is it something noone is really interested in? Please share your opinions.

https://www.statista.com/statistics/343127/number-bitcoin-atms/

I'm assuming based on the statistics on that website, people are using ATM's because its growing year-to-year. At a business standpoint, why would someone put a ATM when people are not going to used it?

So for me, people are actually using it but we might not have the statistics. And as crypto adoption grows overtime, perhaps people will find convenience using Bitcoin ATM just like regular fiat ATM in my opinion.
6716  Economy / Speculation / Re: When Will the Bear Market End? on: August 29, 2018, 07:40:30 PM
Bitcoin price is stable for some time , and it seems that this price dont go below his support line at 6000$, so It looks like the bottom has already been touched.
If it is true , from now on we could only wait for bull market start kick in and see or this time it goes over  20000$.

I agree that there is a strong support along the line of $6K, but we can't really tell if we have bottom this year because everyone is waiting for the final verdict on Van Ecyk / Solid X ETF proposal. I know that everyone calls not to get excited or don't get infatuated with this hype.

But I'm seeing a short term effect if the SEC will (likely) reject this proposal. Panic selling will follow that's why I'm not totally sold on saying that we will never seen Bitcoin bottom again this year. Let's wait till the final verdict and see how it pans out in Oct-Dec 2018.
6717  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Crypto Mining Become Obsolete? - Recent Reports Show Its Decline on: August 29, 2018, 06:54:25 PM
No bitcoin mining will not be obsolete. What those company are saying that their sales are declining, and it coincides with the price of crypto plummeting this year. Last year they are booming and their boards are running out of stocks, even gamers are complaining that Nvidia and AMD GPU are very expensive because crypto miners are using them.

So its pretty obvious that there's some price correlation going on. But it doesn't mean that crypto mining is obsolete or something. Let's wait next year when crypto started to bounce back again, I'm sure that both companies will make a lot of revenues similar to 2017.
6718  Economy / Speculation / Re: $ 5,800 is the lowest threshold for Bitcoin in 2018! on: August 28, 2018, 08:10:58 PM
For now , that can be specified from the bitcoin price chart on Bitfinex available on Bitcoinwisdom. Bitcoin prices have fallen between $ 5,800 and $ 6,500 several times in 2018 but has never lower than 5800$ before it reachs 5800$ last year.
Source: https://blogtienao.com/5-800-usd-la-nguong-ho-tro-quan-trong-nhat-cho-bitcoin-trong-nam-2018/

As of the moment, I should say yes, its the last bottomed we seen. However, we still have the September news coming from SEC, so it might have a bad effect on the market if the news suddenly went on a disapproval.

So we can't really tell unless we see a dramatic rise in the next coming months and we can totally say that we are out of the woods for another bottom this year.
6719  Economy / Economics / Re: Huobi's Fierce Move to March Forward on: August 28, 2018, 07:51:02 PM
Huobi, an international blockchain asset firm, currently headquartered in Singapore and founded in 2013, has its offices spanned in the United States, Japan, South Korea, and Hong Kong.

After China’s nationwide crackdown on cryptocurrency exchanges and initial coin offerings (ICOs) in late 2017, the Huobi Group shifted its headquarters from Beijing to Singapore. Now, despite the declining prices of cryptocurrencies in 2018, Huobi appears to be moving forward aggressively with its expansion efforts.

Make sense for them to moved to Singapore because its crypto friendly. I think top exchanges have a plan B, just like Binance and OKex moving to Malta.

So I'm not surprise by their move, I wouldn't call it aggressive though, perhaps its a business decision on their end to shift their HQ to a more friendly nation like Singapore so that they can still operate without any pressure from the government.
6720  Economy / Speculation / Re: will the beginning of 2019 btc rise? on: August 28, 2018, 06:26:49 PM
Now the price of btc is starting to crawl up. It is possible to continue to rise until the end of this year. And at the beginning of 2019 btc will be better and will continue to increase.

I do hope that this rise is sustainable at least and not another bull trap. We have been expecting that Sept will be the start of something big and I think we are still on track. Everyone is excited to see the price being bump today but we cannot rule out that someone might be manipulating the price from behind so its better to observed how the market will go specially coming this September.
