6701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can We Finally Call This the DEATH of Bitcoin?!? on: May 30, 2018, 07:21:03 PM
Too early to tell. Death will only mean one thing for bitcoin, zero value. As long as bitcoin has value, it will still be alive and continue to live. The good thing about being down is that the only is UP. Other doesn't realize it and got too afraid of investing. Decrease in price is not always negative. I am taking it as a blessing and making an opportunity out of it. Think of it as the best time to invest. Death is so final. Just give it a chance, you won't regret it.

LOL. What do you mean to early to tell? Bitcoin has survived a a lot of issues/problems so I don't know what will causes bitcoin to suddenly die as what others have been portraying for years. And just remember that it is still young, not even a decade to say that its dead already. Give it more time and I'm sure that governments around the world will understand how digital currency can really help them in a positive way.
6702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't hold Bitcoin for long time. on: May 30, 2018, 06:51:22 PM
while the market is falling in price, there is no point in investing. and I agree that some altcoins can make a profit more than bitcoin in a short time.

What do you mean that no point in investing? You should also look at the bright side, when the price is falling down, its the best time to get them because they are quite cheap and its one of the best strategy. Its been proven, so instead of selling at dip, everyone should buy and accumulate.

But yes, altcoins can also give you good profits, as long as you are very lucky to invest on a coin that suddenly grow exponentially in just a matter of days. Yes, there are a lot of cheap coins that can grow like that but you need some luck in finding the needle in the hay stack.
6703  Economy / Economics / Re: Speculation on BTC on: May 28, 2018, 08:41:01 PM
I was reading the Speculation section from the Economics forum yesterday, and two guys from the BTC Foundation said that 2018 will be the last time that Bitcoin will be under $10,000. I believe that this statement was made to lessen the worry that comes about every time that BTC drops. I don't know how anyone could make that statement in full faith though, as the nature of altcoins is its very volatility. Since it is not tied to normal economic conditions as fiat currency is, I don't quite see where that prediction comes from. The fact that many economies are talking about some type of oversight does show that acceptance is gaining and perhaps is a harbinger of more stable, and higher, prices.

Well, I think that such claims come from the analysis that the people made out of the past charts or movements of bitcoins which may be reliable but not that much. But to be honest, I too believe that this might really be the last year that we might see the prices of bitcoins being lower than 10,000. That is, if what happened in the past still happens this year..

We have heard that many times before, saying that this will be the last time we are going to see bitcoin at $10K. However, we are even struggling to go past $8K now. So much volatility in the market that no one can really predict where the price will go.

Perhaps the reason that they are really saying that this year is the last time we are going to see it going below 4 digit mark is that they are bag holders and they want to influence the market and obviously their portfolio to grow.
6704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty hunting - work or a hobby? on: May 28, 2018, 07:47:46 PM
I just posted a reply in another thread where the OP stated they considered bounty hunting was work with money paid to you for your time and resources, with it likened to running a small business. I felt rather that you’d ‘paid’ for the bounty tokens in your wallet with the time you’d used doing bounty tasks and reporting etc rather than with your own cryptocurrency or fiat, and that you needed to factor in as well the time wasted on other bounty campaigns where you didn’t get any reward/payment for your bounty work because the ICO didn’t make softcap or was unethical or a cashgrab or scam! In terms of whether bounty hunting should be seen as a part or full time job/small business or rather as a hobby where you may pick up a few dollars using your phone and computer and internet and time, I felt it would depend on each bounty hunter’s individual circumstances and prevailing tax and other laws in their country. I imagined that most bounty hunters here would treat it as a ‘hobby’ that may bring some reward of tokens that may or may not be worth anything, rather than as job giving predictable taxable income - but I’ve seen little discussion or information published about this however.

I’m interested in how bounty hunters here view their receiving of bounty tokens and the value from holding or selling them - as a hobby or as a job with taxable income? And also are bounty hunters aware of any tax or other ‘rules’ known to apply to tokens received or sold in the various countries we live in?

You won't get a consensus reply here. So my answer is 50/50. Some of us have a stable job, regular 9-5 shift, and just look at bounty campaigns as just a hobby and sort of like a sideline job. However, as you can see in this forum, a lot of people have multiple accounts and just look in the Meta section someone found a person who has 1000 accounts and taking advantage of bounties and raking tons of money. So for sure, its his/her job.

I'm not paying taxes for my bounty but I'm sure that our government is already eyeing it as crypto is really taking a leap although the market is really struggling to keep up because of lot of negative news and regulations around.
6705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptocurrency market dropped on: May 26, 2018, 08:38:42 AM
Every time crypto market goes down, some investors leave it, because probably they think it's never gonna go up again...Crypto is not regulated, so you're not protected anyhow basically from losing all your money, hence investors leaving and volumes dropping is logical. I don't think it's something to be concerned about, because when bulls are back, those investors will come back again and volumes will increase as well.

Those investors that left during the dip is newbies and what we call weak hands. And those left really knows what's going on the market and they are not affected by this kind of negatives news. Experience will tell us that this is just another bump along the road and we can bounce back and make another break out in the coming months.

Although its really disappointed to see the price going on another crisis, the best strategy is to just HODL and wait till this subsides. Others take this opportunity to buy cheap coins and accumulate more. Don't be discourage by this kind of news around.
6706  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trust you trading experience and don't panic on: May 26, 2018, 08:06:16 AM
Of course there's no one that can really help you during your trading but yourself. Although at the beginning you will have not experience but as time goes on, you will gain enough that will really help you during times of crisis.

I have a lot of mistakes in the past and looking back it was so funny but its indeed a good lesson to learn. It help me develop make good decision and in return earn me some money. I mean panic is really the worst enemy of a trader, but we can learn how to control it throughout your trading journey.
6707  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: We had big three buying oportunities in last 6 months ! on: May 24, 2018, 01:30:35 PM
1. First one was 6th February. (BTC around $5800 and market cap around 280b)
2.Second one was around April first week. (BTC around $6500 andmarket cap around 255b)
3. Third one "now". I think this is another opportunity who missed last two. I think we can see the price around ($6800 to $7100, just my opinion)

Good news that, we are making lower high each of these stages. One day chart shows we do not have much momentum to deep much lower.

You are correct, although the 3 one will be around $7200-$7300 based on my speculation. But as far as buying bitcoin, was able to get at the $6500. Actually it was a double bottom that we have witnessed in April so I do hope that at least any of the 3 buying opportunities really gives us time to re-enter the market once again. But I don't think that bitcoin will go below $7K this time as there as a lot of buying support at this price.
6708  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Capability of Blockchain on: May 24, 2018, 01:05:01 PM
I've heard a lot about how blockchain technology could benefit our world, but I've never heard of people saying how blockchain technology could be a harmful thing to our world. Why is that? For example, a gun can be used for food hunting or defeat enemies, but it can also be used for murder or violation. What is blockchain technology really capable of?
Can anyone name any?

1. Irreversible transaction
2. Psuedo anonymous
3. Scammers can take advantage because of its psuedo-anonymity

I'm not sure though about the cost of maintaining a blockchain ledger. If its costly then I think it could be considered as one downside as well.
6709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My Portfolio is Down on: May 24, 2018, 12:41:47 PM
If I have converted my portfolio to fiat two months ago, I will have 50% profit if I'm to invest the money back at the moment. I have learned a lesson again

LOL. You are not alone mate, the crypto market is on another bloodbath that's why your portfolio and everyone's is down as well. I also have the same thoughts with you, just 40 hours ago, I wanted to convert my ETH to fiat because I wanted to get a replacement laptop but sadly I went to sleep and woke up with this devastating news.

So I don't have a choice but to continue hold it and wait till we recover and bounce back. No need to fear here and get disappointed, I'm sure that you know how the market works.
6710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IOST token selfdrop on: May 23, 2018, 11:19:59 PM
WTF is this? you should be red flag for trying to scam people here. And the timing of your supposedly "special selfdrop" as IOST signature campaign just resumes. We all know how the price suddenly jumps during the course of the initial 4 week campaign and I'm sure you are aware of that and riding the popularity of IOST now to scam people. Newbie account, Nah, stay away guys as there are no official confirmation for the devs.
6711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee Says the Cryptocurrency Bull Rally is Near on: May 23, 2018, 09:35:56 PM

Well, he has to do something because the price is not going as he wanted to be. A lot of us remember what he said before that he's gonna eat his manhood if bitcoin doesn't go 1 million in 2020. Lol.

Regarding the bull run, of course we should remain optimistic because we have been waiting for it to happen. However, its going to take a lot of good news to come to renewed the interest of the crypto lovers again and pour their cash on the ecosystem. Let's see though if John McAfee can influence his followers to go and buy more crypto now.
6712  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does speculation affect bitcoin negatively? on: May 23, 2018, 05:33:42 PM
From last few days, so many negative news regarding btc have been aired. Then lot of people speculate the price of bitcoin and just after that I have noticed some significant change in the price index of btc. Do you think that these speculation affect the price of btc a lot???

Definitely, crypto is based on speculation so if  there's a negative news coming, or even fake news, it will surely put a impact on the price. Just look at how the statement of Warren B and Bill G., it has somewhat happen the spirit of some (newbie)traders that's why they decided to sell off.

And who would forgot Jamie Dimon attacks last September, damn that was intense, but the good thing though is that this kind of attacks affect the market short term. Because investors take the opportunity to buy in dips resulting in the market recovery.
6713  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Addiction? on: May 23, 2018, 05:11:42 PM
I also sometimes feel the same way with you, always watching the market movement so that it can make the right choice when the price starts to move, but I think it is not addiction, but the excessive worry of yourself who is afraid to lose by the time you leave it for some time , so you will feel more calm if you can see it every time

Yep, sometimes I spend half of my day looking at the price movement and going on circles thinking if I'm going to dump my coins or not. hehehe. I don't know if its goes or not, but I was able to function normally so I guess I'm not that addicted as others.

Although if I'm in the zone in my trading, I'm in front on my laptop, very busy and animated specially if the coins that I'm eyeing or have bought at a discount suddenly pumps. I guess everyone here knows that kind of feeling.
6714  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Altcoin trading on: May 23, 2018, 03:41:17 PM
$ 14?
It's too little to invest BTC.
I hope you add more money to invest BTC
If you are a Newbie learn a lot about this investment science will help you in running Cryptocurrency investment business.
Hope you have a successful investment and you can benefit from Cryptocurrency.

There are a lot of shitcoins worth less than a dollar so definitely its doable. But as far as profitability is concern, you might not get the amount you wanted to because of such small capital.

But its a good amount to start and learn your trading journey. Try to buy small coins and practice trading, if you lost everything then its OK, you can easily get it back but you have learn a valuable lessons which no amount of money can give you.
6715  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin mining geography on: May 23, 2018, 03:21:07 PM
you can mine bitcoin anywhere on earth, but is there a place on earth where the most profitable to mine bitcoin. maybe Antarctica? I would like to know the opinions of people from different places and countries.

I think Africa is the best play for mining of bitcoin because there the electricity is very very cheap in respect to other countries, so mining there could be very very cheap and beneficial and moreover people there in Africa are honest enough so that hacking wallets of bitcoin is also very uncommon so you can get very good proportion of profit when you mine your bitcoins in Africa and Venezuela is also good for mining bitcoins.

Venezuela? You kidding right? Miners are being jailed in that place, and it looks like the government wanted to have a total monopoly of bitcoin mining.

Africa? Don't think so. How about the infrastructure? How about the climate and the weather? Internet connection speed?

I don't know how cheap electricity is in Antarctica, but as far as the weather, it looks conducive but you have to look at other factors as well.
6716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be aware of KYC on: May 22, 2018, 06:37:57 PM
I mean even before the advent of this crypto currency, everyone should really protect our data and this has been a issues ever since Internet came along. Everyone needs to be careful, as it might go to the wrong hands and we all know what's gonna happen. It can end up in dark web for all we know and once your data is compromise, one day you will be surprised to see that you have taken advantage of. So yes, we need to be careful about this KYC procedure, especially bounties are now requiring it.
6717  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Cryptocurrencies are falling today? on: May 22, 2018, 02:41:43 PM
Does anyone know what happened to the market? I know it is a good time to buy but just wanna know what happened that trigger the huge sell off and price reduction.

If I have to answer this, assuming that we are what more than 1 week after you have posted, here are some of the reasons that I can think of:

1. Bill Gates and Warren Buffet saying negative things about bitcoin and crypto
2. South Korean exchange Upbit is being investigate by authorities
3. The India drama is still ongoing
4. Paypal CTO claims Bitcoin price too volatile for merchants

To summarized, a lot of negatives news lately that put too much pressure on the market, resulting in the price going down and continue to struggle up to this day.
6718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Participating in bounties with low allocations on: May 22, 2018, 02:15:33 PM
I cannot imagine promoting a project for months and at the end, all you can get is a meager amount of tokens. Yes, there are legit projects in the crypto space, but not all legit project worth participating in.
Why am i saying this?
There are projects that only allocate just 1% of the total sale made to bounty hunters.
My concern now is, does it worth devoting one's time to a project that will be only pay you token worth less than $100 after months of participation?

Of course its not worth to join such  bounty because of the amount allocate to the bounty hunters. 1% that's ridiculous low, and that 1% allocation is still divided amongst different bounty such as signature campaign, facebook and twitter campaigns, blogs content and Youtube videos.

I would not join such bounties because all your effort is not worth for even a week, much less a bounty campaign that will last for weeks with minimal payouts. Not worth it mate.
6719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum reached $800 mark on: May 22, 2018, 08:02:44 AM
There is a lot of positive momentum in the crypto market right now though it remains to be seen how long the momentum will last. Currently, Ethereum is on a bull run. The coin is outperforming the rest making it altcoin of the moment.

The coin has gained over 12% in the past 24 hours and this has helped it cross the $800 mark for the first time since the early weeks of March. As of this writing, Ethereum has a market cap of $79,250,101,351.

source : https://crypto-lines.com/2018/05/04/ethereum-is-on-a-bull-run/
We are pleased and enough now 700. There is no stability and growth in capitalization, so you can not say the final forecasts, but the fact that there is some stabilization in the market before the jerk is yes.

I agree, I think its better to see the price above $700 as a good price to begin with. $800 will come and its just a matter of time. Let's say we just take baby steps before at the back of our minds it will go and reach ATH. The technology behind is really good, we only need the proper mindset of investor to push the price again and even hit $2K in the next couple of years.
6720  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: KuCoin vs Binance on: May 22, 2018, 06:38:27 AM
binance is better and will likely replace some of the popular exchanges like poloniex and bittrex.
Let's wait and see,

Well Binance is already the top trading exchange already, so it already replace both of them. Good thing about Binance is that they keep on raising the bar as what should be a trading platform supposed to be. Good customer support, more room for their infrastructure to provide in case more user based comes-in and other reasons.

Kucoin though is not to be left behind, but they have to really work very hard if they want to stay abreast with Binance. I think the management is doing good, but since Binance is really trusted and legit, it might take them years to really overcome them to be the number 1 exchanges.
