6721  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it possible for a token creator to take back the tokens sent to someone on: October 10, 2019, 06:38:01 PM
I am having an argument with some people and they said that a token creator removed a token from one of their wallet and i told them that tokens that has been sent cannot be withdrawn back as long as they're the only ones with their private key but they don't believe me.

Seems the answer here is very clear from the highlighted statement above. I presume this incident was recorded via bounty payment since we have recorded numerous report of such scenario occuring in the forum, where bounty hunters token's get withdrawal by the tokens creators or they get restrict form accessing their tokens. The issue here isn't about the token's blockchain instead it's about the wallets.

So here's my answer, wallets controlled by token creators especially web wallets can be access at any point by them and tokens can be withdrawn without your notice but in regards to tokens blockchain, it all depends on how the blockchain was created to function (like users above have explained).
6722  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What's the safest, quickest and easiest way to do this? on: October 10, 2019, 01:26:56 PM
Is the platform saying the address is not recognised when you input it? Something automated preventing it is the only scenario where I can see this being an issue.

Something like that, just input a random legacy address to test my suspicious and it gave me the go-ahead but when I input my segwit address it doesn't respond. Initially after inputting a bitcoin address the next button pumps up for you to input amount you intend sending to the address but that's not happening when I input my segwit address meaning the system doesn't recognize the address as a bitcoin address.
6723  Other / Beginners & Help / What's the safest, quickest and easiest way to do this? on: October 10, 2019, 12:31:27 PM
Just discovered my local exchange can't send bitcoin to a segwit address (that sucks). I'm trying to transfer some bitcoins to my personal wallet but I'm stuck. I haven't bought bitcoin in a long time so wasn't aware of this and haven't used the popular exchanges for a while now therefore, I have no idea if they can be used to complete my transaction. So I'm just looking for the easiest way possible to complete my transaction without spending much fees, what's the easiest, quickest and fastest way possible to accomplish this and probably the cheapest way too 😁. Seems mixers are kinda costly in regards to fees but haven't used any before so I have no idea.

PS: Just alerted the customer service of my local exchange about this ugly experience and they might lose a customer if they don't keep uptodate with new industry. It sucks.
6724  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Africa isn't poor - Africa is being raped. on: October 10, 2019, 09:44:52 AM
jes then all should simply stop trading with africa, let the africans sell their crap to each other, lets mine in arctic and russia, so africans finally start to blame themselves.
africans are constantly pissed off and blaming and demonising everyone else.

You guys only turn us against ourselves, you claim to be helping when all you do it take from us. In my local area the land, rivers and air have all been pollution by the big shell companies drilling oil from the soil. We're migrating to the cities which aren't safe per se just to avoid getting poison by the unpleasant environment the foreign companies have brought into our villages.

Did a thread recently titled: The Xenophobic attacks on Africans by South Africans, what's your take on this. technically this is the same situation happening in most part of Africa although the South Africa thought theirs too far. Africans are turning against themselves since they can't compete with the white in demanding their rights. We're open for development but do that rightfully and not enslave us in our own land, that's a slap to our face.
6725  Other / Meta / Re: Hey theymos, can i get your attention for a minute. on: October 10, 2019, 09:13:14 AM
I made this topic a couple weeks ago. It provides better options than requesting a higher allocation. If you haven't already received a higher allocation, it's generally safe to assume it wasn't deemed necessary in the grand scheme of things.

Let's start some discussion here, there was a reason why I was made a source. My board of focus might not necessary meet the general criteria of well established sources or reputed members in the meriting business per se. There was a reason that thread stop receiving much patronize as highlighted thread stopped getting attention especially when those thread aren't from the section of the board tagged high quality. Merit worthy post could be categories based on different opinions by different member but the end goal should be such post aren't spam and are actually adding value to the discussion at hand. Having said all that, dropping a link on the thread doesn't automatically mean the submitted post will be merited.

I'm not against patronizing the thread but if you need more and more users to engage the thread than you should encourage them by awarding merit to the posts they submitted instead of making then look stupid by ignoring their posts and meriting just selective posts from specific boards like bitcoin support and technical discussion boards.
6726  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't send any fund if it's been requested by email suddenly" on: October 10, 2019, 06:03:48 AM
In simple terms, you should become more security conscious, always double check from reliable source if information regarding funds recieved via emails can be trusted. This scam technique isn't just associated with cryptocurrency as other industry have recorded similar scams attempt like fake bank emails, fake investment opportunity email and the rest. The social media accounts of this supposedly service providers sending you the email can be used to double check the authenticity of the email before trusting them.

Also for exchanges that requires you to confirm a withdrawal order via email, also double check on those too as the system could be be infected (compromised) to change your withdrawal address at any instant. Make your funds security your number one priority.
6727  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to post on Bitcointalk - essential hints for the beginners on: October 10, 2019, 05:44:37 AM
It seems the article was targeted at project developers hoping to make an announcement thread on the forum and not the average everyday users. Some misinformation were observed which have negative repercussion so here are some corrections.

It makes sense to register multiple accounts on Bitcointalk since there is a limitation on the number of postings that may be published in a certain period (14 days). That way, you’re covering your bases in case one of the accounts gets banned, say, for off-topic postings or regular fluctuations of geo IP.

Alt accounts aren't prohibited generally but if project are caught operating alts just to boost the reputation or legitimacy of the projects through worthless conversation, the alts will all get nuked for spamming which could also affect the project negatively. Also with the new bumping system, project operating multiple accounts engaging in fake conversation just to bump threads are now worthless. There isn't a post restricted on the amount of post you can make daily but there's a time restriction between post and newbie accounts are mostly affected therefore with your junior Member or copper membership account, the time restriction would be minimum and shouldn't after your posting privilege.

If you’re short on time and prefer to waive the restrictions and start posting at scale as a Member, consider buying a high-ranked account

This isn't against the rules either but it's widely frown at by the DT community which will result to your account getting tagged for account farming. It's advisable you buy a copper membership privilege to bypass image restrictions instead of doing the above. This article was made in 2018, the OP should had been aware of this already.
6728  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Different type of altcoins have their season which attract scammers be watchful on: October 09, 2019, 08:02:08 PM
So dont you think we should promote the use of bitcoin more and more and shun the use of shitcoins? There is really no reason to think of altcoins as a saving grace during bitcoin network congestion or short term yields.

Well, I won't say I'm against the promotion of bitcoin more but, infact bitcoin doesn't need our promotions. The currency is a force on it's own and it's success does the promotion for it. Altcoins on other hand currently is what's keeping the industry lively and interesting. They're the pair been traded on the market complimenting the trading of bitcoin. I would say lets give altcoins a chance that's, we should promote it more.

Not the shitprojects or scam coins advertised all over the space but well developed projects putting in work to bring out the best of the industry. Bitcoin just overshadowing every other coin in the market which isn't healthy for the industry generally although it benefits bitcoin specifically. Litecoin couldn't even benefit from it's halving advantage just because bitcoin is taking all the attention for itself.

Based on the information provided above the accused account has been tagged.
6730  Other / Meta / Re: When Legendary? on: October 09, 2019, 04:19:19 PM
I remember the time before the introduction of merit when we just wrote in the forum without burdening ourselves too much with others and what others think of us.
Now it's different, everyone is struggling to get merit and advance in the forum.

Exactly and that's why the younger generation are now suffering for the way majority of earlier users treated the forum. Had it been "they" didn't spam the forum, all in the name of they don't care about what other thought of their posts, we won't had been in this situation now (having to require merit to rank up) but still though, kudos to them as due to their abusive ways we got a better system to stop account farming and probably reduce the rate of spamming in the forum.

The quality of post are steadily improving and healthy discussion are been observed in their numbers. Now we just have to get rid of or reduce the rate at which back scratchers are getting rewarded (i.e those posting to impress certain set of users) then the system will become perfect.
6731  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Banks are Blocking funds? From Exchangers on: October 09, 2019, 01:08:28 PM
We experiences such threat sometime in the past as Nigeria's Union Bank Threatens to Shut Down Cryptocurrency-Related Accounts. Any account that was suspected to be used in cryptocurrency related activities like trading or exchange of fiat to cryptocurrency and vice versa was threatened of been frozen or blocked. Although the rumors spreading around was some customers were affected but no official statement from the banks has been released that they have commence blocking of accounts as of then.

The bankers are in control since they control the fiat so If you feel there's such threat in your geographical area by the bankers, I advice you engage in peer2peer trading as that's what most enthusiast in my region are doing for precaution measures.
6732  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY] GOLD Stablecoin – $200,000 - payouts in BTC, ETH, GOLD on: October 09, 2019, 12:02:17 PM
please how do i find out info on distribution of gold tokens and how they are marked

Which campaign specifically are you referring to in regards to you "marked" statement?. As for the distributions, they're done every 6th-10th of the next month. For example, distribution for September participants will be made this month (October, 6th-10th).
6733  Other / Meta / Re: Yeah! I am out of sMerits as usual: Merit source application @theymos on: October 09, 2019, 11:43:46 AM
Dear theymos :-D
My sMerit status: 2 again LOL

Come on mehn, I saw you received 25 smerit (50 Merits) some hours ago you mean you have spent all already that's kinda strange and you might be painting a wrong image here of too much generosity per se lol that's if those posts aren't as worthy as you presume but nevertheless I hope your wish get granted. Still struggling to increase my merit source allocation as irrespective of how I manage my monthly allocation still doesn't get me through the month. I recently stopped keeping records to avoid me spending too much in a short period of time lol.
6734  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can I abandon red trust ? on: October 09, 2019, 06:24:03 AM
You can't, chances are you'll even get more red trust for making your case public since your offend is widely frown at by the community (DT members most especially). The accounts are already ruined, so you might just risk getting more red tagged by trying to convincing the community you have changed your ways. The forum isn't against operating multiple accounts but when you abuse that privilege like what you just did (cheating with multiple accounts in a particular bounty campaign), it becomes a untrustworthy act  which is worth the negatives feedbacks you have recieved.

You can also try PMing the users that have left you a red trust to beg for their forgiveness (might or might not work) although you have to abandon all other alts account and concentrate on your main account.
6735  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: An appeal to all my fellow Cryptotalk signature campaign participants! on: October 09, 2019, 06:07:38 AM
If there soul purpose isn't to make money through spamming the forum then there are other forum friendly signature campaigns to enroll in but guess what, their accounts are dormant and no managers (campaign) will accept them as promoters since the quality of their post can't be accounted for.

Don't get why you're wasting your time trying to advice those who aren't interested in this sort of advice. All they're after is the quick bucks cryptotalk offer via yobit panel. This is the closest most of them can get to a signature campaigns, you think they won't take full advantage of that not minding the repercussion?. You just fighting a lost battle.
6736  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [BOUNTY] GOLD Stablecoin – $200,000 - payouts in BTC, ETH, GOLD on: October 08, 2019, 06:42:53 PM
maybe I will join this campaign if the pay is weekly, by the way how much is the payment for the twitter campaign, I see the payment table is only a few people who are paid $ 100, in the table also does not explain the campaigns that they follow, only the payment is written..

Consider it to be a weekly payments accumulate and paid at the end of the month. So far no complain have been recorded regarding deserving users not recieving their payment or not been able to convert Gold into BTC or ETH. For Twitter campaign $500 is allocated when members participating in the campaign for that month are less than or as much as 100 but if they're more that 100 then the allocation for the month get increased to $1000 and split between participants. You can read the Twitter campaign section for better understanding.
6737  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: October 08, 2019, 06:22:58 PM
scam project and manipulated thread (by puppets).

Thought puppets no longer have power to manipulation threads based on the new bumping system. About the recent bump, it was me just testing the new system (this is my very first thread I have bumped as I decided to test my bump strength today). As for the other accusations, are you just basing your judgement on the outcome of other projects or you have other reason to think so?.

No doubt we have seen other projects fail or end up scamming their Investors but just as the user above me stated the project wasn't crowdfunded and I have used their exchange which is quite satisfactory. so is there something you're seeing and we aren't?
6738  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk.org collectible coin ideas & vote on: October 08, 2019, 05:53:26 PM
More concerned about how the distribution will be processed since I'm from a region not much forum members will be interested in this to ship in bulk. Always wanted a collectible coin but considering the shipping procedures and other factors, I haven't showed much interested although I'm all in on this (submitted my vote). If there's a easy way to ship 1 coin down here to Africa (Nigeria), count me in.
6739  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning] - Cryptocells - Fake Team on: October 08, 2019, 05:07:42 PM
This just goes to show the true motive behind the project, the supposing CEO (face of the project) isn't even real technically that means all other teams members aren't real or they just don't know what they're engaging themselves in. Left negative feedback on account but I'll be willing to remove my feedback if the accused can prove without any doubt the authenticity of the project.

If a team member is trying to hide Identity, is better you remain anonymous than try to decieve Investors with fake photos and names.

6740  Other / Meta / Re: Necro-bumping to encourage members to return to a forum, on: October 08, 2019, 02:35:59 PM
Not a worst recommendation but won't this destroy the reputation that Bitcointalk already has, of not engaging in any sort of forum marketing strategy but still attract tens of thousands of active users. I mean that's one of the biggest bragging fact about the forum. I'll interpret the message as the forum been desperate and lacking productive users (but that's not the case). Do we actually need them back, I mean those that have left (abandon) the forum, the forum is doing quite great without them. If they did valued the forum, one way or the other they would had found a way to give the forum their time.

They left for a reason, they might just leave again or bring unnecessary drama with them, which won't be healthy for the growth of the forum.
