6721  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Get in here burgers. Is this for real? (S. Pieczenik counter-coup) on: November 02, 2016, 11:25:42 AM
Pieczenik is a genius - top tier 1% genius- with a list of credentials longer than your right leg.  He has also stated that that bin Laden died in Tora Bora of Marfan’s syndrome in 2001 and that he was told by a prominent general that 9/11 was a stand down and a false flag operation.  We really have no way of knowing the truth.  Perhaps he is working on subliminal advertising for his next fiction novel or perhaps we are living in an alternate reality fed to us by a controlled mass media.  How do we discern what's real?  Nobody in here can tell you.

 The plate is empty?
You're probably mining on a pool that went down.  No work = no sols/s.

There sure are a lot of mouths to feed: https://z.cash/team.html

A+ for implementation Z- for launch. Reminds me of the Pascal coin launch but in that case there was only 1 dev and then Vorsholk jumped in to help afterwards with some decent mining software.

Interesting to note is that GMT has been superseded by Coordinated Universal Time or UTC

Oh Spoetnik, the depths to which you will stoop...  I believe what you are doing is called defamation and you should probably stop.
Not funny.
6726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Pascal Coin: P2P cryptocurrency without need of historical operations on: October 29, 2016, 12:30:58 PM
Do you mine?
Do you want to profit with Pascal Coins?

If you don't want to help with your time, please help with donations of your mining winnings to Pascal account 0-10 that will be used for future project necessities.

Everybody wants a great future, contribute with time or with donations

Thanks

Note: Account 0-10 will be used, exclusively, for project necessities. Dev will be the guardian of this account.

Thanks for all your work and dedication.  My last 1200 coins are on the way to account #1-26
6727  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: difficulty finally dropping like expected- dramatically. on: October 29, 2016, 12:21:25 PM
I am not sure how it will change in the future, but I know the last few batches of BTC will be released over the next few years so we may see some strange changes in future graphs.

Maybe you could clarify what you mean by the last few batches of BTC will be released...
Batches from where?  Who is releasing them and from what are they being released?  Is it the US Marshal service again?
6728  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: October 29, 2016, 12:15:57 PM
In Windows, the CMD window closes immediately after finding the hash, so I lost the work of around 20 days.
Can anyone tell me how to let the window stick open when the search is over please?
Did you open it manually by starting cmd.exe, or by clicking a link? Test it by opening cmd.exe manually, then search for a quick prefix.

I made a .bat file that launches the .exe with all parameters.
I think that's where it fails. If you start the .bat file manually, it should be okay.

I'm not sure about the versions, but Command Prompt Here may help you.

Thank you for help.

For any other noob looking for help for a similar problem, just add a line to the .bat file with only pause written.
That will stop the window right there until you press a key.
You can copy and paste the text in the window by using the window's menu that is hidden behind the top left corner of the window itself.

And now let's start again and let's hope I will be a bit more lucky...

Don't start from the bat file until you are in a command window.
Hold down the shift key and right click on the directory containing your bat file which will open a context window.  Left click  "open command window here" from that context menu.
Bob's your uncle.  That window will stay open until you close it.
6729  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Wallet Changing on: October 28, 2016, 04:13:39 PM
How can I stop blockhain from changing my wallet ID after every time I receive bitcoins.

Sounds like a question for the beginners and help section.  You can move it to there using the link in the lower left of your screen.
Also, you need to add more detail.  What you are describing doesn't sound probable.

6730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: "Error loading block database. Do you want to rebuild the block database now?" on: October 28, 2016, 03:16:39 PM
What do you mean the wallet is encrypted?  Did you password protect it?
Yes, that's what it usually means when someone says 'encrypted' wallet for Bitcoin Core.

Thanks for the reply Lauda but you weren't the one asking for help here and if you were, my advice would have been very different Tongue

Based on my experience in this forum, usually and newbie are mutually exclusive especially when the newbie spells the word newbie as noobie.  For all I know, he might have encrypted a backup of his unencrypted wallet.dat file using AES-Crypt because a buddy told him it was rad protection and if that were the case, my advice would have been very different.  Wink

By the way OP, you can certainly trust Lauda with your wallet.dat file if you wanted to take that route.

6731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: "Error loading block database. Do you want to rebuild the block database now?" on: October 28, 2016, 05:02:55 AM
Rebuilding the database will not affect the wallet and will allow you to access the coins.  It's a win-win.
What do you mean the wallet is encrypted?  Did you password protect it?  Shouldn't make a difference once you rebuild the database... unless you forgot the password.

Solve this problem before thinking about Electrum;  you're causing yourself unnecessary worry.

6732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unconfirmed Transactions Problem on: October 26, 2016, 01:15:26 PM
It's a little congested right now. I'm waiting on a small transaction from 14 hours ago.  I've never waited this long before.
6733  Other / Off-topic / Re: Me and society on: October 26, 2016, 12:17:06 PM
Why your the third to say i'm whining Roll Eyes .  Truly you  feel the pressure from society. I was speaking in a metaphoric manner not literally as a slave but it almost feels this way.. think about it. If your job was to dig ditches everyday so you could eat and live normal you wouldn't live long. My job takes major physical and high mental capability's, (commercial Painter) When i get home i just want to sleep. It takes me a week to make 700.00$ but i can spend that in 2 days....society sucks because in order for me to make more money and have a different job i must pay for education and not only go to school but work at the same time... its just impossible for me. I can say i'm not sad but i do feel like i suffer to be comfortable.

You already know the answer to that question.  We say that because our parents said that to us - we are a product of our society.  If you complain about something that afflicts most people, you're a whiner.  We all have to suffer slavery and we all know there is no way out so we don't want to hear anyone discuss it.  Imagine you are running a marathon and the moron beside you is complaining about how tough the hill is, how thin the air seems, his shoes suck and now his how his feet hurt, his back aches and he wishes he had done something else with his life...

When you say  "...700.00$ but i can spend that in 2 days...", are these expenses for needs or wants?
Most people don't have much in the way of disposable income.  Make a budget and stick to it.  Find areas in your life where you can reduce your expenses and avoid borrowing.
Guys I work with complain about their phone bill but they have lumped two cell phones (on a purchase plan), their landline and their TV into the same bill to "save" %15 Wink  Their bills are nearly $300 per month.  I laugh when they tell me their going to drop their landline to save some money (because that's about $19-$30 per month of the total bill).  Nobody needs that much TV!!  Very few need 4 Gigs of mobile internet.  They already bought their first house and on top of that, they went out and bought a brand new vehicle - and they pay $500 per month for that... it doesn't take long to spend your salary on those things we perceive as "needs" that really aren't needs at all.  This is the lifestyle they bought into and they are now fully enslaved.
6734  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: If the whole world ponzied together on: October 26, 2016, 01:41:19 AM
would it alleviate financial problems to most? poverty decrease?

I guess I must be older than most because I remember that Albania was ruined by Ponzi schemes - most of its GDP was tied up in the schemes.  The country was plunged into a deadly civil war and chaos ensued.  No, I think a world Ponzi would result in famine, disease, riots (even war), wealth confiscation, extreme poverty... I see nothing good coming from this.  If something isn't produced for the exchange of currency, it has little or no real value.  Only governments can get away with that kind of exchange.  The rest of us have to produce something for it.  Look at Nigeria - they printed money like it was sea water = game over.
6735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Messed up micropayment, need a merciful miner on: October 26, 2016, 12:46:54 AM
Well now you're a double spender.  What did you do?!

Yep. Embarrassing! And preserved forever in the blockchain. The first one disappeared completely from my wallet, with no debit, so I assumed it had been dropped. I tried to make the same purchase again, but with a higher fee. This one has now got 50 confirmations, so am I right in guessing that it's impossible for the first one to get any confirmations now, and eventually it will disappear?

Thanks
Andy

I'm pretty sure that unconfirmed one will eventually be dropped but I don't know about the double spend tag Wink
Oh well.  Lesson learned right?

Sidehack is one of my favourite Bitcoin people.

I can't correct the misspelling it is sidehack not sidekick.

iPad auto correct sucks

I hate autocorrect!  By the way, I'm not participating in the auction - it was a simple donation.
Good idea though Wink

6740  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Matching Last 2 Digits In Block Wins on: October 25, 2016, 11:10:30 PM
I have encrypted the 2 digit winning number generated from random.org with MD5. It includes the first 2 digits followed by random digits so it can't be cracked.

Example: 50|1234567890

Deposit a minimum of 0.001 to 1CFZ2S74SHXBMoCkZSKNPNqFYraWYs6CH3.

Encrypted Version: a2552d6cadeacabe3f27d1fceee0384b.

First person to win gets the entire pot, of course it is likely there will be multiple winners and so it will be divided.

The last 2 digits of the block your transaction is wins.

To show I will not cheat and participate I will require all members to prove they own the address when they win and state they are not me.

Good luck. :-)

This is not a form of proof.  There is no way for anyone to know that one of the participants is not you using this method.
Also, there is no way for anyone to know you will not walk away with the proceeds once they send the coins to your address.  Use of a trusted escrow would help with the latter.
