Ratimov I think you should just give up and stop adding more oil and gasoline to the fire  Undecided
Meanwhile...in his bunker airfinex is diligently working scanning every word Ratimov wrote in forum to find if any of his other topics are just translations, so he can win promised reward of $5000.
Sounds like a good business arrangement to me... for services section.

A bold statement. I'll give you $5 000 if you can find the source of these threads that I recently created, since you boldly claim that all my threads are translations of other people.

Never a boring day in bitcointalk forum  Cheesy
I guess this ''agent'' was working undercover since December 2018.

Let me know how much I can get if I give you a criminal impersonating a government official.
I guess person doing that would get minimum few years in federal prison, or mental institution if it is proven he was insane.

That's the main reason I sent an email, to let him know someone is impersonating him.
Did you receive any email reply yet from Mr. Wolfgang?

I am new here. Should I apply for opening a new topic (or maybe an AMA?) to answer people's questions about the rebrand?
(I don't want to break any rules here.)
Hi Lixin and welcome!
This is general topic for all open source wallets.
My suggestion that you should first make a post explaining what happened with Cobo wallet, your team and new brand you started in old Cobo topic:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5244214.0
Than you should create new ANN topic for Keystone hardware wallet, post some information, links and images (maybe you will need copper membership or more posts for doing that)
Hardware wallets section is here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=261.0

I think you proved a connection with your twitter account making your previous post, so only thing left is to read bitcointalk forum rules and you are good to go:

That's a pretty harsh statement, and while I respect your criticisms of Ledger devices, I don't think those complaints are the rule; they're the exceptions.  I've had a Nano X for a while now and have never experienced battery problems--and yes, I realize I'm one data point, but I'm guessing I'm not the only one here who owns one and hasn't had a problem yet.
More complains incoming and storm is just starting, please wait few more days and you will hear about this news everywhere, but remember who told you first  Smiley
Only in last few days I posted 15 examples from reddit of problem with Nano X battery, and twitter is full of similar reports, just imagine ledger email now  Shocked

6747  Economy / Economics / Re: El Salvador has just bought it’s first 200 coins on: September 08, 2021, 03:32:35 PM
After yesterday dip president Bukele decided to purchase more Bitcoins and El Salvador now owns total of 550 Bitcoins, but they have plans to purchase more in future.
He did announce before that big FUD is coming and maybe this dip was combination of leverage liquidations on exchanges and IMF ordering their puppets to try and crash the price.
Maybe we need to start thinking about opening El Salvador local section in bitcointalk forum soon Smiley
6748  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Verifiable builds need attention. Only 3 of 68 Android wallets are verifiable on: September 08, 2021, 03:08:01 PM
There is one alternative website I found for WalletScrutiny and it is called bitcoinbinary.org, interesting part is that one of bitcointalk moderators achow101 was testing wallets and participating in this exercise,
I don't know if this website is sponsored by Coinkite aka Coldcard, but they did receive 0.025 BTC donation from them and githuib page is posted on Coinkite github,
so it looks like ColdCard wanted to proved how their code is still reproducible even if it's not open source anymore.
Conclusion is that many wallets have bad documentation or incorrect build instructions so they couldn't be reproduced.

6749  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: One more Ledger leak? on: September 08, 2021, 02:04:24 PM
I have seen people received fake ledger devices to steal treir coins, some of them got personal threats, but don't be surprised if you start to receive PulseChain and HexCoin paper promo materials in your mailbox,
in case your home address was leaked in one of previous ledger leaks that includes name, address, email and phone number.
They are now using this database with over 270k addresses that is publicly available and they are sending this crap to everyone they want  Tongue

6750  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Faketoshi CSW vs Cřbra Bitcoin on: September 08, 2021, 12:57:57 PM
This case just got more interesting according to Cřbra tweet, after a new person claiming to be Satoshi Nakamoto applied to the court to undo his default judgement.
Court is interested to her this person and they fixed a hearing to hear his appeal.
This could turn into one of those Faketoshi v Faketoshi cases, but with this crazy corrupted legal system we have, judge can decide anything they want.
I am patiently waiting to hear who this new Faketoshi really is, and it looks like I will need to update my list of Faketoshi's soon Smiley

As for LixinLiu and all the rest, if you look at the tweets from cobo and on the article I linked it does not mention him. So, look at it as someone who bought this product and got the shutting down info and has seen no other communication from the company.
LixinLiu was lead developer who worked for Cobo before, but when they decided to ditch their hardware wallet, he separated with his team, purchased license from Cobo and created new brand and company called Keystone.
They made some improvement changes in QR codes, changed place for entering SD card, code is the same like in Cobo but it will change in future.
It is a a good idea suggesting him to create new topic with support here in bitcointalk forum.

I got a call last night, did a quick (wrong) search and followed the few links that cobo provided and sow nothing.
Wait, so you actually own a Cobo hardware wallet?
I remember they offered some devices for free or with discount few years ago in forum.
6752  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Novosti on: September 08, 2021, 10:58:11 AM

Cobo Vault is shutting down next week.

Nice to give your users an entire 8 days before shutting down your back end.
I wrote about this news few months ago (June) in their topic and everyone was aware that something like this was coming.

Cobo / keystone should still work but no more updates.
I would not use Cobo anymore that needs to be connected with their custodial wallet, but you can buy new Keystone device with 50% discount if own old Cobo device (Keystone essential with discount would be around $60, and Keystone Pro around $85).
Keystone is working with most software wallets like Electrum, and you can use spare parts and batteries from old Cobo device.

But, I would still not use it anymore, you never know what could be lurking somewhere in bad code.
Their wallet is open source, so there is nothing hidden and anyone can check the code, plus their developer LixinLiu is very active and trying to help everyone.
I am not trying to justify anyone, Cobo made a bad decision Wink

More complain cases incoming and notice how they are getting downvoted by ledger mods on reddit:

You sent me 2nd BROKEN LEDGER! (Unacceptable) (posted today)
https://www.reddit.com/r/ledgerwallet/comments/pjv069/you_sent_me_2nd_broken_ledger_unacceptable/

Looks like one of their assembly workers intentionally [it has to be, based on the number of reports I'm seeing here] pushed the battery connectors down, so it doesn't make that much contact!
I watched that tutorial video posted by one guy and connectors are totally squashed, but they are probably made from some cheap material and bad contact could happen again in future even if you open your device and ''fix'' it yourself Smiley
Ledger quality control check = zero.
Here is one more video with voice instructions and explanation for older version of nano x:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LsvtkXhkhcc

Still... for a device that costs as much as the Nano X does, this should not be happening... the build quality and/or QA Testing is seriously lacking Roll Eyes Undecided
Imagine paying 119 euros for this faulty device, and they send you replacement that is also faulty, so you have to pay shipping and customs multiple times, like it happened with some people in previously posted comments.
This is just getting started, I suspect much more people will start to complain when they receive their new nano x devices.

Luckily Nano S doesn't have its own battery. I just don't like this new mess up (c) by Ledger.
Integrated batteries are not good for hardware wallets, but I like the idea of having standard batteries you could take out whenever you want and replace them with new ones, like Keystone and Passport are doing.

There is currently a ton of people who are everyday reporting issues with their brand new purchased Ledger Nano X devices, so I would advice everyone not to waste money purchasing this junk device.
You can do twitter search for words ''ledger nano x battery'' and you will see a bunch of people complaining, so don't trust me but verify and check yourself
Here are some examples from people posted on reddit only in last five days, and moderators are probably downvoting any issues, or banning people if they complain.

6757  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: How to leave KYC for good on: September 07, 2021, 02:06:13 PM
Is Bitcoin really fungible if we are already dividing it on KYC and non-KYC, or dirty and clean Bitcoin?
I regret that all this years nobody added any good privacy improving protocol code changes for Bitcoin protocol and all this talk would never happen today.
Sure, this could mean one more fork, but I am sure majority of people would support this change and that would kill other privacy altcoins.
Bitcoin is now so big that exchanges won't delist it because of that change, and regulators may complain but they would have to accept it sooner or later.

Option 1: Provably sell Bitcoin on KYC exchange again, then 'start fresh' by buying non-KYC Bitcoin and send to a new address / wallet.
How can you know the origin of Bitcoin you just purchased without KYC?
It can come from some hack or it can be connected with some other person who purchased that BTC with KYC.
This would make your second option useless in reality.

But why would the authorities ban Bitcoin and then try to confiscate Bitcoins from the people?
This doesn't make any sense to me.This is basically stealing financial assets from the population.
Isn't growing taxation of everything (maybe even breathing air soon) exactly that, stealing financial assets, and it's nothing strange for governments.
In past they confiscated gold, alcohol, land, weapons and everything they wanted if enough people didn't complain.
I would not be surprised if in future they try to confiscate Bitcoin or anything other than their CBDC tracking currency nightmare.... if people comply.
6758  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor One: How To Retrieve Recovery Seed from Wallet? on: September 07, 2021, 01:15:57 PM
It clearly says I need the Recovery Seed before making the update.
I updated Trezor firmware multiple times and I am clearly telling you that you don't need your recovery seed for that.
They are asking that just in case something goes wrong.

Actually. it still works.
You can use whatever you want, even some old or phishing scam website, but don't complain later to anyone.
Official website supported now is only this one, and you don't need to use it when you download software:
https://suite.trezor.io/

What do you mean import seed words? I dont have the seeds.... That is the whole issue!?
You said in your first post that you don't have access to original back-up now, but it's safe.

I don't have access to my original back-up (but its safe)

Typing in the code with the help of the trezor in order to access to wallet is equivalent of logging in, in my world...
There is obviously something wrong with your world, or you are trolling and asking fake questions, so I am not going to reply here anymore.
Good luck with your mission impossible.

6759  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is a hardware wallet really worth it? on: September 07, 2021, 12:58:00 PM
Hello all, I've been thinking of buying a hardware wallet to store my Bitcoin in (ColdCard), but I'm not sure if it's really worth it.
You need to decide that for yourself, but it is worth to own hardware wallet if you have more Bitcoins you are willing to hold long term, and it is much better than holding coins on exchanges or web wallets.
If you don't have airgapped computer and you want some balance of security and usability than hardware wallet would be a good choice.

First of all, what are the advantages of using a hardware wallet, and is it really worth it?
I know security is one of them, but other than that, is there anything else?
Not all hardware wallets are created equal and not all of them are good, but they have advantage over hot software and web wallets because they are not connected with internet.
They are portable so you can bring them everywhere you want, or you can buy new device and import your seed words anywhere in the world.

And finally, Is the ColdCard a good choice? I'm looking to store Bitcoin only.
ColdCard is one of the better hardware wallets, never connected with internet or with your computer, and even if you lose your ColdCard it would be very hard for anyone to extract your keys from that device.
Do your own research before purchasing anything and follow this Guide for purchasing Hardware Wallet the right way to avoid leaking of personal information.
6760  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Full Node on Raspberry Pi 400 on: September 07, 2021, 12:07:39 PM
I don't know if you are still running Bitcoin full node on your Raspberry Pi, but adding few heat sinks can significantly reduce working temperatures for 20 or 30 degrees, and adding a fan will reduce temperature even more.
This heatsinks are really cheap, can be purchased for few bucks and they should prolong life for your device and your Bitcoin node will run smoother.
Adding them on Raspberry Pi components is similar like you would do on normal computer so you need Thermal tape for that but it is included in some heatsink packages.
Pi 400 is a bit cooler than regular Pi but with this you can easily reduce temperatures on any Raspberry device.
