6741  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Amazon to start accepting bitcoin on: January 21, 2014, 11:39:06 PM
I knew this would be fake before I even clicked on it, if this was true we would of heard it all over the news. Someone has already mentioned that a normal rep wouldn't know much about development and wouldn't now they are planning on accepting Bitcoin. Also, no way would they rather tell people on a email than a news report. I'm not going to continue to explain why this is fake because;

Fake. I am not even going to explain why, because everyone with a brain should know why.
6742  Other / Meta / Re: Marketplace trust on: January 21, 2014, 07:45:07 PM
Yeah I suppose it would have good points and bad points, perhaps only being allowed to leave trust if you have actually done business with someone may be a good solution.

How would you define that? This is a forum and not a fully focused marketplace, it would be very hard to determine if person A has dealt with person B. Also, a lot of people deal other places such a bitmit (when it was open) and have left good/bad feedback here.

Surprise right?

Wow , I had no idea. SO noobs are among us now ?

They are indeed running among us now posting where ever they like.
6744  Other / Meta / Re: Marketplace trust on: January 21, 2014, 07:37:37 PM
The trust system needs some serious looking at, an eBay style feedback policy would be ideal where untrue feedbacks can be removed. You should get a +1 for every good feedback score you get.

The trust system is not moderated which is a better way than having staff getting overwhelmed with the amount of requests they would have for removing false feedback. Also, the reason why staff don't get involved is because how are they suppose to know that the feedback was false? It would cause a lot of problems.

Going on to the second idea involving the "+1 for every good feedback score you get" comment. This could be very easily abused with sock puppets. There's a reason why we have untrusted feedback and trusted feedback.
6745  Other / Meta / Re: Why my activity doesn't increase? on: January 21, 2014, 07:31:47 PM
The activity number should in some way be post count related, the way it is done at the moment is not very good  Angry

Why isn't it good? If it was the way you are suggesting people would be spamming to increase their activity. I think this is a better system than we had before and is working very well.
6746  Other / Meta / Re: End of newbie restrictions; ban changes on: January 21, 2014, 06:07:18 PM
Could we also have restrictions on old accounts which haven't been used for a very long time and have suddenly started to post again? It could reduce the amount of spam and also restrict the act of selling/buying forum accounts.

Edit: It seems removing the newbie section has decreased a lot of spam and hasn't had any negative effects to the forum yet.

6747  Other / Meta / Re: Changing profile name ???? on: January 21, 2014, 06:02:44 PM
If I'm going to be honest yes I did only join back to sign up for the ad payout.

Plus all of the posts you have made today have been total rubbish and hasn't even contributing to the discussion isn't that against the ad payout rules?
6748  Other / Meta / Re: Marketplace trust on: January 21, 2014, 05:43:34 PM
That really should be checked by default.

I agree. I have it checked by default, and I think the site should have it checked by default because I see this all the time that no one checks untrusted feedback because it's hidden.
6749  Other / Off-topic / Re: best gambling is never play on: January 20, 2014, 11:17:28 PM
"The house always wins" otherwise why would people make gambling sites? It would be pointless, people start to win and get hooked and think they'll have good luck, but in most cases that's that not correct.
6750  Other / Off-topic / Re: Quick poll: heuristic for how long until a coin is considered "abandoned" on: January 20, 2014, 10:35:55 PM
Until no one uses it? But, I still disagree you shouldn't wipe anyone balance.
6751  Other / Meta / Re: newbies section on: January 20, 2014, 10:34:57 PM
Guess it's a experiment. Well at least I hope. It could either good really well or really bad and our other sections may get filled with "Hi I'm new" threads. Or, it could reduce the amount of spam and off topic posts in the newbie section.
6752  Other / Meta / Re: End of newbie restrictions; ban changes on: January 20, 2014, 12:51:17 PM
Hopefully it will reduce the newbie spam. But, like Badbear said there will still be useless/repeated posts. Hopefully it won't become a problem in the other sections now.
6753  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: Selling my World of Warcraft EU account - time to say goodbye on: January 19, 2014, 07:49:41 AM
Price is still the same, im just bumping the thread.

There's normally a lot of threads asking who's selling WOW accounts and gold, I don't know why there isn't much interest.
6754  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: StuffCoins.com - Clean out your closet for btc! on: January 19, 2014, 07:46:31 AM
StuffCoins.com appears to be a scam.  I deposited a small amount of BTC to place a bid.  After being outbit, I requested a withdrawal.  It has been a week and I have not received it.  I have tried multiple times to contact the site admin and have received no response.

Do not send your BTC or DOGE to StuffCoins.com!  Angry

Could you confirm this please?

Edit: Future readers please when reporting a scam include enough evidence that people can look into and confirm, appears that the OP did get a payout after all.

PM you

I would use a escrow if you are going to be dealing with anyone, especially new users.
6757  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why so much spam? on: January 18, 2014, 04:20:06 PM
You got to love the alt coin spam. In a way they succeeded because they got  sub-forums like they asked.

6759  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New alt coins good or bad? on: January 18, 2014, 01:58:32 PM
Being a copy doesn't really matter as long as it gains much needed popularity. Take dogecoin for instance.

Copied coins fail for a reason. Anyone can make them and any point in time, the code is pasted on the internet. They only have to change a few variables and then pump and dump. Dogecoin is only successful at the moment. In a few months to a year it will be just like any other coin.
6760  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is the hotest alt coin now? on: January 18, 2014, 01:40:04 PM
Dogecoin is having a good run today. It's insane. I really didnt expect that. Now im waiting for a good time to buy. It's here to stay

I don't think it will be successful in the long run. Normally coins do this and die within a few months.
