I swapped the psu with my desktop psu, i got the status OOO but now it just restarts itself after ~2 minutes of doing nothing. The mining proxy seems to cause my OS to freeze every now and then

Any ideas?  Huh

From another node on your network, you could attempt a TCP connection to 192.168.1.101:8332 just to make sure that nothing on either your network or OS or whatever is blocking incoming connections to your proxy. Otherwise, I can't see any reason, many people reported that Blades are *very* sensitive to network issues that are generally not causing problems to other devices.

I had intermittent problems using wifi with my Blades.  I bought a used switch and hard wired, instant 10.8ghs and runs for days and days with out problem.  Using Pi with bfgminer proxy.
+1 to random network topology problems

Is bitmain working on any newer miners? (Using smaller size process for more hash per watt, etc.)
Isn't everyone?

Thanks for the guide, Dogie!

I'm using a 230 GH/s Avalon box now.  Will be nice to have something much quieter around.

Although I wonder if the 1.45 btc price for February 8 shipment is worth it.... or if its already too late in
the game for the little S1 Antminer that could.

The price is right, compared to my Avalon mini miner, but I'm always semi-cautious.
I know for a fact that the prices are designed to be FAIR to the community, rather than what the community can support. Everything is done on predictions though, so we can never know.
6746  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Broke Internet on Antminer S1 on: February 01, 2014, 10:50:35 PM
Glad its working now. For others finding this thread, most miners need a combined soft (button) and hard (power off + on) reset to get back to default.

Yes, continue to centralize hashrate, please.  Roll Eyes
That's like 1% or less.
I bet you think "decentralized" is accessible to 15-year old gamers with GPUs. Well, that's not going to work if you want to build the biggest worldwide currency and transaction network.

No only accessible, but also profitable.  Smiley
Profit = opportunity = desire to fill that opportunity. Unless someone is ACTIVELY feeding the market money as a GGG, your utopian scenario won't exist.
6749  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain AntMiner S1 Setup on: February 01, 2014, 03:40:56 PM
ok i see i felt as much , otherwise everyone would have done it. shut off at 70 thats high compared to some other machine avalons were at 60 i think.also could 400mhz over clock burn the board out?

Temperatures are all relative. Gen 1 Avalons had on heatsink temps which are lower than die which are lower than core. Gen 2 had on die and so temps allowed went down.

On top of that, chips aren't all built for the same heat. You'll have to look into the spec sheets if there are any around.
6750  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain AntMiner S1 Setup on: February 01, 2014, 09:32:52 AM
I have added exhaust fans on each of my AntMiners to complement the existing intake fans. They both work and are being controlled by PWM. However, the UI consistently reports the RPM for both new fans as zero. Is there some configuration setting I have to change to enable correct speed reporting in the UI?

Its just not coded into the firmware, so rather than it being a function its just a constant (0). It will only ever return 0.
6751  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Voice yourself to KnCMiner on: January 30, 2014, 03:39:02 PM
Heresay: They used the 3rd batch to create some private farms, rather than upgrade modules. After that it wasn't viable for them to make an entire batch as they couldn't sell the rest of the modules at a decent markup. Instead they've used the money for the Neptunes.

Anyone had any units blowing up when you over clock to 400mhz or what's the worst that could happen?
What hash rate does 400mhz correspond to?
6753  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain AntMiner S1 Setup on: January 30, 2014, 10:18:46 AM
Perfect. I'd recommend getting a 750W as it will be able to power 2 miners (Ants or otherwise), or one large miner. 650W is a bit of a weird number.
6754  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain AntMiner S1 Setup on: January 30, 2014, 10:17:32 AM
are you using those fans to blow in, or exhaust in the back ?  i noticed that regular 120, even corsair high airflow fans will not match the same output of air/cooling that the stock ant fans come with.  and i am having a hard time finding those dinosaur fans.  i have contacted the manufacturer for RMA, but down time from mining sucks.  so am looking for a quick fix.

In a closed case, pull though would be better. This is push only.

If you want a temporary solution, take one of the blades out of the case, and run both flat on their backs. You might need to made some standoffs just to leave a gap to the back of the PCB. Then you can use dual fans blowing directly onto the heatsink on both blades - any 120mms will do and you can get them whisper quiet while maintaining good temps.

If you really want to find the original fans or equivalent, look at server 12cm, 3.5cm deep (or even 5) fans. They're loud though, and built for pressure rather than airflow.
6755  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN]ASICMiner Publicly Looking for Potential Customers/Partners for New Chips on: January 29, 2014, 02:29:15 PM
Power Consumption: 0.2J/GHash low voltage, 0.35J/GHash rated voltage

That is insane. 3TH rigs using only 1kw at 40nm. Very, very impressive friedcat, I look forward to seeing them!
6756  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain AntMiner S1 Setup on: January 29, 2014, 12:24:00 PM
i used a powercool 750watt psu for antminer unit and after a day or so it popped the psu, i exchanged it and the second one went in 30 mins also it says 24 amps per 12v shouldnt that be enough whats the problem?
No PSU expert here, but I tend to stick with the high end brands. Corsiar is my first choice.

I am using a Corsair GS 600 without issues. I am not famluar with the brand you have.
Yep, go for a name brand. It'll pay itself off in reliability, generic PSUs tend to be rated very precariously.

Do we have any evidence that those will actually be mining at 2TH/s with no problems?
No, but goat - like everyone - will sell by hash rate. He will tell us what they are when they arrive.
