I agreed it was massive earlier, but come now. It's fine now, even on my palmtop.
I had to block it anyways. Can't have that on my screen at work. LOL -> Maybe you should be working instead of browsing bitcoin forums ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Sorry to the OP, it seems i diverted the thread from it's main purpose ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif)

Either the DB got corrupted (say, per post unique IDs were not unique or other mysql sillyness), or SMF writes shitty software.
I Bet on the latter... ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

I guess this thread is the right place to introduce you all to my new project: The Bitcoin ShitList - The place to report all the bad stuff/scams that happen around the bitcoin community. If any of you(forum users with good reputation) wants to volunteer to help with the website, design included i will be very happy to have help. I'm sure it will need moderators to weed out bad submissions and to investigate if the claims/complaints are valid or not. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) You guys think it's a good idea?

"Mommy? Where do bitcoins come from?"
"Well son, when the right public key and the right private key mate, they produce a bitcoin. When society approves your relationship is legitimate, the bitcoin is confirmed by the bitcoin gods."
hahahahahaha WINS!

i also had the opportunity to be an early adopter as i got in touch with bitcoin in it's early start, just didn't gave it the importance i should, and now i'm a full supporter of Bitcoin, not a hater...
If i have to be angry with someone it's with myself, not with Bitcoin or it's users/early adopters.

I have since changed the password, and I am currently the only person on the planet who knows it.
Does deepbit have any sort of a log of what IP addresses log into each account? I think that might be my only chance of having any info at all as to who took my bitcoins. If the IP address is one in the same town as my business, I will know the theft was related to one of the employees who knew the password.
If the IP address is in some far off country, then I know it was just some random hacker.
Any other thoughts on how I can find additional information?
Or someone using a proxy or tor... ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif)

I have always hated SMF. It feels outdated, I seem to remember quite a few security issues way back when (don't quote me,) it's hard, if not impossible to watch / unwatch threads, and again, it just looks gross.
phpBB is beautiful in my opinion, and I frequently steal their template system for my projects. The front-end is beautiful, the code is beautiful, it's powerful, and it's open-source.
vBulletin and IPB for me will always be out of the question.
+1 for phpbb ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Hey Hawkix, By nature, the search for block DOES NOT USE ANY STATE. Once you finish one share, you start from scratch on another.
Simply the difficulty controls how its needed to be lucky to find a block. After found block, the chances are the same.
You didn't understand me. The solved block is not the problem. As far as I know a miner starts with a nonce. Then it hashes until it reaches a break condition. After that it checks the computed hash: If it is a possible solution it sends the block to the network and starts a new computation with a new nonce. Otherwise it drops the last nonce and starts again with a new one. Only if the sent block is accepted by the network then it sends 50 BTC back to the address where the block came from. If I did not make a mistake these computations don't need to start from scratch every time a miner is started if there could be saved the last state before quitting (maybe used nonce plus iterations plus last computed hash). EDIT: I forgot the most exciting point of my request. If I could split the big computation into smaller problems it would be possible to start and stop at will with my hardware. I would only need a completely headless microcomputer as small server for sending packets and collecting the results (like deepbit, slush and co. already do with their mining pools). Why is it that the more you talk, the more i think you want to use that in a botnet? ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) PS: In case someone wonders what triggered my comment: it was the part where he says he doesn't own hardware in his first post... ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) PS2: If that's not the case, sorry! ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Maybe i was just doing a little too much outside of the box thinking! lol
