Since you dont have the seed you will need the password, do you remember anything about it?

btw, dont create two threads for one problem. It will only result in questions asked twice and one thread getting removed for spam.

After some back and forth, Im out.

I dont know what the deal is here, they do not seem to add me on steam. We agreed on a loan; we agreed on a sale, or at least that was my impression. From the sale thread it looks like the game isnt even tradable. I only do a few trades here and I dont have time for this. Do not contact me via PM or steam.

IMO, thread [1] should be in Gambling and thread [3] should be in Investor-based games. Probably there are no report for [1] & [3] so moderator didn't move them.

I agree and reported accordingly.
6764  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Do You have a Bitcoin Full Node running (24/7)? on: May 09, 2015, 05:22:27 PM
So is a Full node basically just running Bitcoin-QT?

All day everyday and open port 8333, otherwise it's not a full node.

Running it 5 minutes a day and only allowing outbound connections its still called a full node, as long as it can sync in that time. A full node is any network node that is capable of enforcing all the network rules.

Maybe by definition, I run my bitcoin core about once a day to sync up and have a full copy of the blockchain, but I only run it for maybe 30 minutes. I wouldn't consider myself running a full node.

Its certainly helping the network more if the node runs 24/7.

No, I do not have a bitcoin full node. I think the requirements to run one are quite high. Do you need a dedicated server for it?

Moderate VPSs can handle one, just not some huge one with thousands of connections.

I run mine off a VPS with 2 GB ram and a single core. It handles 50 connetions fine. The only "propblem" will be the disk space soon. I might be able to switch from SSD to HDD though as I dont need the extra speed anway.

Yes, there are other full node implementations though. Like btcd.

Just post the proof you have if you want anyone to care. All I see are your claims. I dont know you, thus I dont care much about your claim unless you can back them with something.
6768  Economy / Lending / Re: Need loan of worth $43.00 on: May 09, 2015, 07:18:38 AM
The game would cover the loan amount (~106%), but not the interest. Is there anything else you could offer as collateral? Preferable on steam as well to keep it in one place.

I am not familiar with steam accounts. Would you be willing to buy the game at a particular price in case of a default? I would be okay to give the loan if the collateral can be sold for 100%+ of the loan. I am willing to take risk on the interest portion.

need a loan to pay shipping cost
$43.00 BTC, repay loan with $10 interest
Term Length : 7 Days Max
I do not have any collateral, I really needed this  Sad

I do not have anymore, I also got it from the giveaway Embarrassed

Just curious - How do you plan to get BTC to repay this loan?

I wouldnt buy the game in case of a default no. I currently do not have the machine to play it properly. Im still considering whether to accept it as collateral alone or not. My understanding is also that its not a steam account (which would comes with additional risks), but a steam gift. Its an item that can be traded via steam and activated or traded further. Steams policy is to not reverse these transactions.

@Riley Nico: Im a bit busy right now, I will write you tonight (~2100 CEST) unless someone else already filled the loan. 12 hours should be enough pondering Wink

You don't need to post here. Report one of ban evader's post and put links as proof if needed. Here, put link to that post.

I think its good to see posts like these from time to time. It shows that the community is fighting with the staff against spam. They are not that frequent either.

The problem is that transaction, it is to be confirmed in next 6 blocks, and after that the next one will get confirmed

Yes, the bigger TX inputs had been confirmed for ages. This one was probably the one that was swept from the paper wallet.

Anyway...

6772  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Core 0.10.1 has been released on: May 08, 2015, 09:17:20 PM
Hi, i'm new around here, i was wondering if using wallets that don't require downloading the whole blockchain (multibit) is less safe than Bitcoin Core.

No. SPV clients that allow you control over your private keys (like Multibit or Electrum) are for all general purposes as safe as a full node.
6773  Economy / Lending / Re: i need 0,2 loan . no collateral on: May 08, 2015, 09:09:58 PM
reading this section of the forum , I see so many loans without collateral . loans are always a risk . regardless if you are NEW or OLD .
I also have a witness of a person active in the forum that gave me a good rating . I'm honest! I asked a lot of loans and I have always returned.

Its probably best to ask your personal friend for a loan in that case. According to the rating - thats missing a ref link - the loaned you way over 2 BTC in the past. So a loan as small as 0.2 should be no problem, no?

"With alt accounts essentially comes the trade with accounts."? That's like saying "A right to shoot you in the face essentially comes with the right to own a gun." What kind of fresh idiocy is that?

A right you are unable to act out is no right.

There are reason limitations are put on brand new accounts.

Yes, to decrease spam. Its probably mostly effective against the automated kind though. The limitations have been worse in the past. A discussion in meta with your newbie account would have been signigicantly more difficult while we still had the newbie jail.

Those reasons have nothing to do with being able to afford a fraction of a coin for an aged one. If you think Satoshi started this forum so that you can make money buying & selling accounts & spamming here, you're mistaken.

Things change over time. Sometimes the change is positive, sometimes not. Your opinion that the development is bad is just that, an opinion. It is not the fact you try to make out of it. Whatever Satoshi would or would not think about the discussion at hand is irrelevant. They decided to fade into the shadows and let others handle things.

All stuff that's obvious to stray dogs & slow children, why must it be explained again and again here?

Really? You are the one thats hijacking thread after thread with this topic. You drag it back into the light whenever you can. Your points are always the same. Even this little back and forth is already spinning in circles.

How do you suggest to solve this problem in a way that is decreasing the chance of successful scams? By an admin saying in some thread that its bad?
Banning the sale of Bitcointalk accounts right fucking here, on Bitcointalk, by trusted members & forum staffers who love them might make the practice less common. Again, why does such obvious stuff need to even be said?

So your only solution is an outright ban that might be a solution? Cant you see why this is not acceptable to others? You have nothing to offer but the hope for maybe a little bit, while at the same time creating a very difficult situation for the staff. Your suggestion is as efficient as the prohibition of drugs is helping addicts. Besides that you apparently want to keep the possibility or right to have alt accounts. Thus the only thing your solution would lead to is to drive the sales elsewhere. You would not keep a single scam from happening you would only affect those that trade in accounts for other reasons that are not related to scams.
Spam is a problem, but I currently see a very healthy development in that regard. BadBear has cleaned house enough to reach the elborated spammers, signature campaign managers actually care about the quality of their participants and act against spammers. There also have been several lengthy discussions about the topic and my personal impression is that the community in general is keeping an eye open in that regard.
6776  Other / Meta / Re: little icons next to threads on: May 08, 2015, 05:00:49 PM
I'm wondering about the little icons I see next to threads in the forum listings.  I see thumbs up, smiley faces, and many others.  I hover my mouse over them looking for a tooltip but nothing-doing.  Is there a list of these icons and what they mean?

Yes, you can selecte a little icon when you create a thread. Posts also have one if you want.

[] The fact that you seek protection by the rule you deem bad has been pointed out several times. []

And several times I've replied:
Buying and selling accounts has nothing to do with being able to start a brand new one. Which this one is. It was neither bought nor sold.
How is it you still manage to miss that?

Your reason to have an alt is different from the reaons of others. Reasons that are not necessarily malicious. E.g. earning money from ones posts. IIRC Salty even gave a good explanations why signature campaigns in a sense make scams with "trusted" accounts (as in higher rank as well as in trading feedback received) more difficult and expensive.

After Quickseller posted with his alt, ACCTSeller, that there are no rules against selling forum accounts, I replied with "This is why we can't have nice things." Quickseller wanted to vent, and so he did. I've explained to him, again, why he's an ass.
Some folks need to hear shit many times before they catch on, I don't hold that against them & oblige.
Get it? 'Coz I'll explain it again, I don't mind.

Now either explain how I "seek protection by the rule [ I ] deem bad," or stop shitting up this thread.
ty

With alt accounts essentially comes the trade with accounts. IMHO you cant have one without the other. If I am allowed to have a second account why should I not be allowed to use the 17th account of someone else. An account they no longer need or want. Since building an account takes time its only natural that I pay a certain amount for the time someone else invested in the account.

The reason might be as simple as Im spoiled and I dont want to be hindered by the limitations of a new account.

Yes, bought accounts might get used to scam someone, but thats true regardless if there is a rule against it or not. "Self-made" alt accounts can be used for scams as well. You either limit every person to a single account or they will get traded.

How do you suggest to solve this problem in a way that is decreasing the chance of successful scams? By an admin saying in some thread that its bad?

How is gay trust different than normal trust?
-snip-

"Gay originally used to refer to feelings of being "carefree", "happy", or "bright and showy"[...]"

Its not as serious. Trust sold by OP would most likely be gay, because its mainly carefree as nothing was actually risked. I doubt it would be marketed as such to avoid confusion with lesbian trust, which can only be given by accounts under control by the people of Lesbos. As such lesbian trust is rare and highly valued.

As someone on DefaultTrust you should know.
6779  Other / Meta / Re: How can a hero account only have 99 posts? on: May 07, 2015, 10:13:43 PM
Its been a day now. Does your rank downgrade when you delete "x" amount of posts? Is it suppose to and for some reason its not doing it?

That is certainly the outstanding question.  And from the look of things, no one really knows the answer.  Either rank doesn't go down (like activity) or it does on the Tuesday upgrade or there's a bug.  Time will tell.

The activity does go down. You can see that TheGambler has 101 activity whereas he used to have 480+. The real question is whether or not rank goes down as well.

Another good person to ask might be shorena who is running an account deletion service. She deletes all the posts except those which might be related to scams. You could ask her what happens to the accounts after most of their posts are gone:

http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=953262

I know for a fact the rank went down. I am however not certain how long it took. I know it was increasingly harder to delete or report posts as the activity went down and thus increased the time I have to wait to perform certain actions.
6780  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk account on: May 07, 2015, 10:06:19 PM
It's a good job you don't make laws or rules around here. Selling forum accounts isn't against any laws nor does everyone think it's bad. Just because you think something is bad or amoral doesn't mean everyone else does, so drop the petty trolling.

The last thing this thread needs is some sycophant posting snippy comments. Yes, I know that account selling " isn't against any laws," that's why I'm posting this in the meta sections rather than scam accusations.
Rules aren't static, they change. Hopefully for the better. This process can't take place if people ignore the bad rules & STFU.

Its strange though isnt it. It seems its the same person behind all these accounts complaining, sounding like a broken record. The fact that you seek protection by the rule you deem bad has been pointed out several times. Still new accounts keep poping up, none providing any new arguments, just the same old "QS so bad". The only fruitful discussion with Salty is probably long forgotten and instead of staying on the level that might actually convince someone, more trolling.
