6781  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Just-dice and Doge-dice closing? on: June 23, 2014, 10:29:12 PM
silly panicking.. if just dic only deals with bitcoins. then they are shutting down for no reason

the words virtual currency related to the digital form of FIAT.. this is something that bitay/coinbase should worry about when dealing with canadian FIAT.. but pure bitcoin businesses do not need to worry about those pesky FIAT laws.

the only thing i can think of is that any business that does "gambling" has to remain legit with its countries gambling regs if they are going to offer "cashing out services" into fiat.

That's just your interpretation.
From that article:
Quote
“Regulates Bitcoin as Money Services Business – Bitcoin dealing, more specifically referred to as “dealing in virtual currencies” in Bill C-31, will be subject to the record keeping, verification procedures, suspicious transaction reporting and registration requirements under the PCMLTFA as a money services business.”

~Christine Duhaime, B.A., J.D., Financial Crime and Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist of Duhaime Law

Logically, no government with gambling restrictions will allow BTC gambling sites, sooner or later they will take some actions against those.
The only hope is in trusted/anonymous sites operating from countries with favourable laws.

Anyway, JD/DD suspended any bets and are advising withdrawals (they go smooth, so no need to panic).

Just a gentle reminder:

6787  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The obvious attack vector? on: June 13, 2014, 09:10:04 PM
Unrealistic. GHash has 0% fees, so hard to beat that. On top of that, a huge part of cex.io power is their own mining hardware.
You wouldn't go anywhere near 50% by just attracting greedy miners.

Long term Investors,  Buy up the coin....

Hold...in your wallet, nothing to do, coins everyday to your address. Guaranteed, everyday, unlike, unreliable proof of stake. The next level, the upgrade, Proof of Fund. SaveCoin the 1st Proof of Fund coin. We have few coins so our marketcap is low, but wait in a few months, they will start noticing us on CoinMarketcap. With less than 2500 coins produced a day, Long term investors will be taking the lead with this coin. Miners will provide liquidity. This is a great circle as we build our community. Remember buying 1 coin today will be be worth many coins in a year with compounding interest. We are looking for long term investors. Go SaveCoin Smiley

SaveCoin is SPC  ....

Yes, we are looking for long term investors but, we also need to spend the coin and find services that will accept it if we want the price to raise. Check out the listing from CCMC below:

268    SaveCoin   $ 4,160   $ 0.050499   82,387 SPC**   $ 0   +5.48 %

See the big "0"? That's volume over the last 24hrs, there isn't any and that's the problem, we need to generate volume or we will loose in the long run. Other than taht, price looks good and market capitalization is on an upswing, not bad actually.

So, get the word out for inclusion by merchants, funds, services, basically anything you can think of to get the coin moving.

RJF

I agree with you. But don't worry too much about what's on coinmarketcap. I remember when checked this morning, SPC was around position 140 with 24h volume over $3k and over 90% increase in price.
These stats are useful, but they change pretty quickly, especially for new coins.
6791  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Survey: Cryptocurrencies' language Gender on: June 08, 2014, 02:50:00 PM

In Polish, all answers were Neuter.

That's not correct.

By the rule of thumb, in Polish every name which ends with "a" is feminine, if it ends with "o" or "i" or "y" is neuter and if it ends with consonant - masculine. There are some exceptions tho.

So I put masculine in all except for Norwegian Krone (in Polish: "Korona").

What's the purpose of this anyway?
6792  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Ghash.io is as safe as being in your momma's womb. on: June 07, 2014, 10:50:19 PM
Ghash.io can have 100% for all I care because no one is stupid enough to destroy a money maker that they have such a large stake in for a silly double spend.

In theory it can take as little as one pissed off employee. Although I've no idea how cex.io and their internal controls look from inside.

It's a bit comforting that the rate dropped to 43%, maybe they're doing something about it.

Incase anyone wants to sign up:

Anyone have any idea what this is going to be?

Wild guesses?

I'm trying to think what it could be and I'm honestly coming up with nothing at all.

Wtf... whichever mod moved this did not understand the point of this poll. Please move it back to bitcoin discussion the point of this pole is to see which bitcoiners are interested in altcoins.

Agree. My first thought was "What's the point of making such poll in the altcoin section".

6796  Economy / Exchanges / Re: hitBTC.com - super fast and stable BTC/LTC/USD/EUR exchange on: May 27, 2014, 07:55:12 PM
hello hitbtc,

So are there any news on the legality [EDIT to avoid confusion in terminology:] legal status of the company behind hitbtc.com?

This (+rest of the post)

There's no info on who owns the business stated on the website. I believe it's illegal in EU (not sure about US) to run any kind of online business without stating such info.

I would discourage anyone from using this site until they get this sorted out.

Hi, I'm still here Smiley

I've been busy with life since I'm setting up a new business in real life too. Sorry for the lack of updates, however the coin is still being worked on and of course interest payments are being paid out without my intervention. Smiley
Been having internet connection issues too. Those should be resolved soon, apologies once again.

I'm not too concerned about the lack of interest in this coin just yet, this is still very early stages and a comeback will be due soon once I finally get an update pushed out Smiley

Thanks

Good to see you're still around  Smiley

Looking forward to the updates
