6781  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: October 28, 2018, 06:07:29 PM
Btw...  Lukaku's not starting vs former club Everton.  It's Martial --- Rash --- Mata up front in a 4 3 3, with Fred --- Matic --- Pogba in midfield.

Should be good.  Smiley

Man Utd 1-0 up, I had 2-0 in our CloudBet pool prediction league. Difficult match this is for me, I hate both Utd & Everton but at least if United win 2-0 I get some nice points in the pool Cheesy

Manchester United matches suddenly seem to have a thrilling finish, I was literally screaming when pogba gave the ball away for penalty, and that awful miss by Martial in dying moments, didn't wish to see another draw like the one we had at Chelsea. I feel suddenly Martial is Mourinho trump card, and he's ready to surrender Lukaku and Sanchez. I'm a happy Manchester United fan today, and what makes me more happy is we displayed attacking football, there were some errors but a victory is a victory.

@Lfc_Bitcoin I think you lost your bet hard luck mate! by the way Liverpool playing some top class football too so how was yesterday's game?
6782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it better to exchange your altcoins for dollars or btc? on: October 28, 2018, 02:27:46 PM
Actually, It depends on each purpose and plan. Yep, you should exchange cryptocurrencies for dollar if you really need fiat for doing something. But in case you want to invest in bitcoin, you want to reap a better fruits, you’d better exchange for bitcoin. However, I advise you to choose bitcoin only when you are adopted this market, and you are so much keen on trading or investing because if you do not have interest in this field, you will easily lose your money. I hope you guy will have a suitable choice in your situation.

I would advise you to trade your alts for bitcoins, rather than fiat as the value of fiat will stay the same, but the value of bitcoins will only keep on increasing in the long run. Another reason why I advise against keeping money in altcoins is that once they crash they take years to recover or, they never really recover plus most Ico's are scam. It's pertinent to note that you should be careful to time your entry, and exit in the bitcoins market other wise you'll burn your hands if you buy at a very high prices.
6783  Economy / Exchanges / Re: My 1200 BTC Account Is Blocked By Binance on: October 28, 2018, 12:02:26 PM
Hello everyone,

I would like to share my story with the Bitcointalk community, in order to notify you that anyone may simply be scammed by Binance exchange with no access to their funds.

To begin with, I’ve created a Binance account this May for arbitrage trading via their API through the bot that I’ve made. I’ve made a few large deposits and was trading for about 3 months using the arbitrage strategy for some time. My total balance was around 1.2K BTC (bitcoin veterans know how it’s possible) at the beginning of September, and everything went pretty fine until the middle September, when I’ve received the message claimed that my account was blocked because of the several suspicious login attempts, which confused me a lot. My account was protected by a very complicated password, 2FA and the email that I’ve never used anywhere else.

I’ve contacted Binance support as soon as I’ve noted the message from them, in order to clarify this issue. They have asked me to verify my account and pass a KYC (my account wasn’t verified before), in order to prove my identity and show that the name that I’ve provided with them matches with my real name. I’ve provided them with the documents, but during our negotiation, they have changed the reason of blocking of my account to the “internal investigation process.” As for now, my funds are locked by Binance, and every single time when I’m reaching them out they keep telling me that my account now is a subject of the investigation, and that I have to contact the local law enforcement if I conduct the reason of block unwarranted.

Surely, I’ve already contacted a lawyer, in order to speed up the process of getting an access to my funds, however, I still can not find a reason of this block by Binance. Anyways, this message is a notification for every trader that one has to avoid he exchange, if they want to have an access to their funds.

P.S.: Funds are not SAFU, guys.

I feel this entire post is one big troll let's take one fact at a time, if you have 1200 bitcoins do you come here to rant or simply focus on legal ways to get your money back. Then in his own admission he has to buy a bitcointalk account, and the rank he's brought is a newbie anyone could have made a normal account and posted it, if you're for real and have contacted a lawyer then ask him to deal with it cause no one here can do a better job. Also check this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2642310.msg27546553#msg27546553 why would a 1200 coin holder participate in this lmao.
6784  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: October 28, 2018, 08:15:01 AM
Its good to see the WI fight back in the series and get the win to tie the series with 2 games to go. Kohli has been a shinning light for India in this series just like he was in the test series. I thought that 283 was a decent score for the WI and that they had to bowl well to restrict India which they did so it was a great all round performance by them and they deserved the win. The next match will be interesting now that the series is tied.

It was a brilliant match and all credits go to West Indies for playing the way they played, also a special mention for the Indian captain he played a brilliant knock, but it was in vain. I feel the team is heavily relied on the Indian captain to bail them out, and its high time other players step up and start to contribute. Prior this match there was lot of uproar over Ms Dhoni being rested for t20, but he once again showed why he's the best wicket keeper with his on field actions.

It's  been quiet a long while to see Red Bull in the pole and second position will be interesting to see if this effects the race, I just hope Hamilton doesn't act over confident and throws it away.
6786  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cyber attacks are good for Bitcoin on: October 27, 2018, 04:04:58 PM
The personal data of 9.4m Cathay Pacific passengers has been stolen in a cyber attack on the Hong Kong airline.

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/2018/10/24/cathay-pacific-says-data-94-million-passengers-stolen-hack/

Quote
Ryan Wilk, vice president at NuData Security said “Data in the wrong hands – especially payment card information – can have a huge impact on customers, far beyond the unauthorised use of their cards.”

“Payment card information, combined with other user data from other breaches and social media, builds a complete profile. In the hands of fraudsters and criminal organisations, these valuable identity sets are usually sold to other cybercriminals and used for myriad criminal activities.”

Maybe instances such as this will wake people up to the tangible benefits of using Bitcoin, blockchain and cryptocurrency-not being as vulnerable in an age of unbeknownst vulnerability.

I personally feel such incidents won't act as an catalyst directly, but indirectly the companies will look at alternate payments system as such hackings are bound to create fear in the minds of their investors. It'll be interesting to see if any major company decides to implement blockchain and crypto payments, but any global company that adopts it will face regulatory backlash.
6787  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2016/17 on: October 27, 2018, 01:11:33 PM
I think Barcelona (even wit Messi injured) will teach Real Madrid a lesson this weekend. Every great Champion eventually comes to an end & I think Real are past their ‘use by date’ (forgive the pun).

Barcelona will get the win but it will be a really close match, they always are. Passion’s run very high in El Clasico, wouldn’t surprise me if there’s a red card, probably Ramos Grin

I would be very cautious before placing a bet on either of the teams, it's the fist time after 2007 that el Classico doesn't have Messi and Ronaldo in the match. While it's true that Real Madrid form has been poor, and their head coach could be given marching orders if Real Madrid looses, however this match brings the best in every player, with those high level of emotion anything is possible, haha yeah a red card for Ramos would be really nice it's like the ref is always ready to pull one out for him.
6788  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 27, 2018, 11:20:05 AM
Oh now they decide to sell Bale.  Didn't Lopetegui want to sell him and the  sign one MF and a striker, to which Perez denied?

I wonder how Real fans feel about this.
Florentino Perez should just give the managers the freedom to do whatever they want because his intrusion to their work is not good at all. He should be like Ed Woodward and manage the financial aspect of the and let the technical team do their worl.

I don't think the fans doubt his judgement and it is his decisions and interferences that has helped Madrid in the last 5 to 10 years to win all those European trophies. Some of his decisions were risky which could have gotten him out of power but they turned out to be good in the end (thus, all those players and his friend who later became coach could have brought him down if they hadn't chalked those successes.)

I don't think they can afford to sell Bale now unless they bring in Neymar and Hazard they need these two badly, only then can they become Europe elites again. In another expected news irrespective of the results Lopetegui head will roll, Antonio Conte is the man to replace him, but take my word he will just last till the season, that guy is a no nonsense guy, not really sure how suitable he's for the egoistic Madrid players.

In England it seems each match Mourinho has to come out and save himself which is kinda sad, I do hope results Imporve. However the biggest nightmare as a Manchester United fan is to realise De Gea can leave for free, or let's say club extends it for one year and then he leaves us, it'll be one of the worst decisions taken by the people at Manchester United.
6789  Economy / Speculation / Re: The pain of holding bitcoin in 2017. on: October 27, 2018, 07:59:40 AM
the pain of traders who are stuck at expensive prices when 2017 is definitely a lot of people who are depressed and certainly a lot of people are crazy because of bankruptcy, it hurts many who think this is just a cash game, hopefully the price of bitcoin can return to the price of $ 20 k again.
I don't imagine people were invested in the last year 2017 and they holding until now maybe at this time they were knuckling their heads by seeing the price drastically down and it is never coming back at the price when it is so expensive. Well, that is a part of the crypto world before you invested you must know the possible happen into it. Patience is a key here to retrieved our lose if we invested last year.

There's a very popular saying whenever you choose to invest in stock market, and i believe it's applicable to Crypto Market too, "Buy when people sell, and Sell when people buy". If only people started selling at that peak they would not have burnt their fingers, while I also believe the Fomo fear did play an important role during that period. If you or someone has bought at those rates then, I would suggest to ignore the short term volatility and hodl it for the long term.

someone have a backup ?

This is the worst question I have seen till date on this forum, why would you even think of such an unfortunate event to take place, I wish Theymos a long life, as he's a visionary because of whom we're able to use this forum. Also to answer I believe theymos is really smart, he has faced site attacks, and yet he has managed always to get the site back and up, trust me he'll have prepared for this.

Is the world really waiting for a global decentralized money?

No the world is not waiting for anything like it, the average person doesn't really care if it's decentralised or not, all he cares is that it's money with which he can buy food, house and clothes. While people have the herd mentality effect in which one person follows another that might introduce them to bitcoins, slowly when they realise it's power and benefits they may actually adopt it, but as of now no one really cares for it.
6792  Economy / Speculation / Re: To the SEC bitcoin ETFs can be a bad idea.. on: October 26, 2018, 11:39:08 AM
Bitcoin ETFs can be a bad idea because of the bitcoin whales ..I will prove my case..

If i own a million btc plus millions in cash  what i do is buy loads of bitcoin raising the price  meaning i sell my bitcoin SOME of them not all to make a profit from the bitcoin then
sell my bitcoin  and bet on a low turn on another ETF site    see how easy they can fix the markets with loads of bitcoin and cash..

While you have made a strong case the ground reality is quite different, whales do disrupt market like we're told, and forced to believe but not they way it's projected. There're about 32 whales to be approx and rumours is one of them is in jail, and when a proper research was done it was found whales distruption the market is more related to aniexty and myths, hence your argument just lost authenticity. I feel Bitcoins etf is a good idea, as it'll lead to more adoption and higher sentiments something that this market badly needs.

6793  Economy / Economics / Re: Which crypto companies will overtake Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, and Google? on: October 26, 2018, 07:55:36 AM
The economist George Gilder believes the four biggest corporations (Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, Google) will be replaced by "cryptocosmic" companies.

https://dailyhodl.com/2018/10/21/leading-economist-says-current-financial-system-is-ending-introduces-bitcoin-ethereum-and-vitalik-buterin-to-the-mainstream/

"Tell, ten years ago the biggest corporations in the world by market cap were Exxon, Walmart, the Petroleum Bank, China Petroleum and the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China. Ten years later, the top four companies in the world are Apple, Amazon, Google and Microsoft by market cap. I mean, who would have predicted that? And I believe that in the next ten years, there will be a similar turnover, and there will be cryptocosmic companies who will dominate the list of the top market caps in the world.”

Who do you think they will be, and which industries will they dominate?

I don't mean to be critic but this statement will never come true, I do like bitcoins, blockchain and all but no company using these technologies is capable of dethroning the giants. When you say crypto as a whole has huge market cap, let me remind you cryptos is broken up into various exchanges, people and institutions these are not one party but multiple parties.

Also how can you imagine a day without using google or having a iPhone but not using it, I don't think I'm up for blockchain phones where my data is stored publicly for all to see.

I can say coinbase might just make it in to 20 or top 10 but that's it, nothing more than that.
6794  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Circle and Coinbase are partnering to improve the stablecoin concept on: October 26, 2018, 03:35:24 AM
What are your thoughts about it? Will it be success? Will it fit all users' needs?

I'm not sure of the success cause in the end it'll be a centralised coin, will they be able to do a better job than Tether definitely yes. It's pertinent to note that Coinbase is subjected to the strict laws of USA which makes it mandatory for them to get KYC done, and if and when they're compelled to give out users data, they'll give it so knowing all that I'm not comfortable in investing in this coin. However I feel people who invest can be assured there will be audits, all pumps would be checked and rules would be followed which might be liked by some, but I'm not a big fan of centralised coin.
6795  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITDICE - 🎲🎲🎲 New Version Coming Soon! 🎰🎰🎰 on: October 25, 2018, 05:56:19 PM
Back from break, in time to wait a few more days to the new stuff coming onboard BitDice! Hello gamblers Smiley

found this site few days ago when ibwas looking for some reputable websites on which i could play some blackjack with some instant withdrawals
I absolutely love the blackjack on this site, the instant withdrawals are a great feature too, looking forward to the new update !

Welcome Mirae! Instant withdrawals are great aren't they? Scroll up and see even huge payouts are processed with no issues! Never a better time to try out BD, and we're all looking forward to the updates, site keeps growing, and loads more in the pipeline. Try out the dice too, damn addictive and us crypto gamblers have a thing for dice... and don't forget to check out our own CSNO tokens if you want to stick around and get yourself hooked into passive income!
Thanks for the welcome ! Dice is good and all but blackjack is better for me as its not entirely luck  based like dice is hehe
now that you mentioned huge withdrawals still processed instanly i wonder what is the maximum amount that will be processed instantly ? Lets say that i deposited 0.8 btc, won 0.2 btc and wanted to withdraw 1 btc, would it still be processed instantly or would it need to be manually checked like on a lot of other websites ?

1 BTC is most likely instant. I'd imagine 5 BTC might be manual but that's only if hotwallet doesn't have enough to handle it.
great to hear, thank you for the answer !

Hey Mirae you have made a really good choice by joining the Bitdice community, after dice Blackjack is an popular game on Bitdice, if you see the pics posted here you'll see bets as high of 1 btc and more being won by gamblers on black jack. As for the instant withdrawal as far I know they pay really quick, and it's worthy to mention a user had won 30 btc, and was paid real quick, and there was even a bet as high of 20 btc on the site a while back.

Also I believe the site shall be down on 27th October for the final update to roll out I think we should get an official announcement tomorrow, one more day and Bitdice shall have a new look, games and the much awaited sports book. It's pertinent to note there's a major wagering contest coming too with the launch do keep an eye out for it.
6796  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fidelity entering the crypto world on: October 25, 2018, 01:16:30 PM
This is what we need more of because the big money that comes in and the whole marketcap grows, that's when more confidence will come into the markets and more and more retail investors will come in as well and will generate more momentum. I believe the next bull will be better than the last one because there will be more stuff in place and more mass adoption which will bring more people to like and use crypto and also invest in it for the longer term. I am also looking forward to BAKKT as well, so these kinds of institutions are what we need right now. Let's hope the SEC also approves some ETFs as well.
Oh, yes. Bakkt+ETF+Fidelity launch can be a truly rocket fuel for the price of bitcoin. And another crypto currencies from the top. I'm sure that it will be good growth of crypto market in the future. And Fidelity will not be only one.

Fidelity is a huge market player and if it can successfully get it clients on board for bitcoins investment we can definitely see high volumes and some upward price swings. Bakkt platform is another interesting thing happening who knows it can act as a catalyst like bitcoins futures did last year. If the Sec were to approve bitcoins etf then surely the prices would shoot up, only a few days more to find about it.

Went to the LFC vs Red Star game last night, had a bet with BetVictor bookies in the stadium for 4-0 with Firmino 1st goal, won £350. Great result for my boys, top of the group & a great bet win too.
Traffic was shit on the motorway so didn’t get back home until 1am though, tired today.

It was a good match from Liverpool and especially Salah who's faced lot of criticism for not scoring many goals these season, I feel Liverpool are once again contenders for the cup. It's pertinent to note even Barcelona without Messi secured a victory, what was surprising was PSG with all the attacking players could not win it, this shall put their head coach under scrutiny.

@Lfc_Bitcoin I was expecting some pics from the game like you had updated for the premier league game you visited, during such matches traffic does gets worst no doubt about it.
6798  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: October 25, 2018, 03:35:09 AM
Any tips for today match between India vs West Indies, I am going to bet on more than 280 Wil be India going give a target to west Indies so I guess that India will going to cross 280 Mark please give any tips about that because of India is already loss hitman.

It was an interesting and an quite unexpected result while all including me had expected team India to win it comfortably after scoring 321 runs, who would have thought that West Indies would fight back and draw the match. It's no doubt it was because of Hope, fearless innings, and also it's pertinent to note the Indian captain has scored 10000 international runs which is a really nice feat to achieve.

What in the world is happening in UAE right now? 22 for 6 for Australia. Shocked

This one is probably going to be an easy win for Pakistanis.

I am surprised by the way Australia surrendered the match, I feel they're in a crisis mode and need to get Smith and Warner back asap, the team is falling apart and these two can lift it back single handedly.
6799  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need help from a mod on: October 24, 2018, 10:41:14 AM
You can ask moderation to change the nickname, but for this you need to create a separate thread and politely explain everything to them

<...>
It is virtually impossible to change (see Change username/name on the bitcointalk forum), and it would entail paying 50BTC to become a VIP member to get the job done.

Since your account is still a Newbie with not much activity and not already tied to business (at least that I could see), consider creating a new account with the correct name and using that one instead. You don't have to delete your current account. In fact, you can't delete an account. At best, you can try to delete the posts (not all may be deletable, depending on the board you posted them in) and perhaps create a small post in off-topic that states which your new account is with a link to it, in case any person following your account wonders where you’ve gone off to.

The problem is that he is already using the username he wants, but with the wrong capitalization. And the forum accounts are not case-sensitive, so he can’t create the account VELA.re if he’s already using VeLa.RE.

I don't see the relevancy of this thread being bumped after so many months, as the user has left the forum and I don't expect him to return. It looks like the person who bumped it up is trying to spam, others look at profile of the person who asked this question he's gone months ago, this thread needs to be locked for good,

Real won against Viktoria just 2:1 and their performance was really not impressive. Yes, they had many dangerous shots, but it's worth to mention that Viktoria players wasted few great chances to score. I'll just remind that Roma won against this team 5:0.
City had easy win against Shakhtar 3:0. I'm a bit disappointed about Shakthar performance, they played really bad. I lost my BTTS bet on this match...
Juve dominated against MU, especially in the first half and earned deserved victory.
It seems that I missed fun match between Hoffenheim and Lyon - 3:3. Hoffenheim scored equalizing goal on additional time.
And about eqrly today match between Young Boys and Valencia. Valencia had good first half, but after half time Young Boys started to dominate and were close to win this match.

I had a great time yesterday played two very smart bets, I knew Real Madrid would win in the champions league they possibly would not loose, though the way they played was scary and it's clear their coach will be sacked soon. In my second match with Ronaldo playing against Manchester United, I decided to play on Juventus winning it and I got it spot on, I was sure Manchester United would not be able to cause an upset.
