Well, mybitcoin.com needs some rework done for sure. When trying to debug my payment module i was sending some 0.05 BTC payments from my bitcoin client in my PC to my mybitcoin.com account, paying fee(yeah, stupid, i know) but the payments take so long to be confirmed that it doesn't ever sends the postback from mybitcoin.com to my shop, it only times out.

Impossible for people to shop like this, or even for me to test it.
6782  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Unable to bind to port 8333 - Bitcoin Won't Start! on: May 07, 2011, 07:25:32 PM
You can also pass -nolisten so that it won't try to listen on a port at all.

Thanks! that saved me one un-necessary restart of my machine.  Grin
6783  Economy / Marketplace / Re: [BUYING] MyBitcoin.com on: May 07, 2011, 06:38:41 PM
I asked them for paid support to help me debug one e-shop payment module postback and that was almost 2 weeks ago and i got no answer.
The service being free we can't expect free support but i was willing to pay...  Angry

Well, until i fix that problem(or someone else opens a bitcoin e-shop) there won't be any gadgets to sell for bitcoins. Sad
6784  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Vote to get bitcoin on Fox's Freedom Watch! on: May 07, 2011, 04:36:25 PM
So when is the deadline for voting?

Probably there is no deadline.
I see they have 3 topics already completed and they have one Accepted tab also that is empty for the time being. It's some kind of ongoing voting, i suspect.
6785  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Unable to bind to port 8333 - Bitcoin Won't Start! on: May 07, 2011, 04:26:24 PM
restart computer? that's what i do if i get that error.

Thanks!

Damn it, i hate restarts.  Cheesy And i hate windoze for that same reason...
6786  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / [SOLVED] Unable to bind to port 8333 - Bitcoin Won't Start! on: May 07, 2011, 03:50:39 PM
Hi, since yesterday whenever i try to start the Bitcoin client i get this message:
Unable to bind to port 8333 on this computer.  Bitcoin is probably already running.

No, bitcoin isn't running, not even bitcoind.

This is my debug.log entry from my last try.
Bitcoin version 0.3.21-beta
OS version Windows NT 6.1 (build 7600), 64-bit edition
System default language is 152 Portuguese_Portugal.1252
Language file locale/pt_PT/LC_MESSAGES/bitcoin.mo (Portuguese)
Default data directory C:\Users\XXXXX\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin
Unable to bind to port 8333 on this computer.  Bitcoin is probably already running.
DBFlush(false) db not started
StopNode()
DBFlush(true) db not started
Bitcoin exiting

The problem existed with bitcoin previous version. I just updated it to see if it would go away, but no luck.

Do any of you guys have any idea to solve this?

Thanks!
6787  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Vote to get bitcoin on Fox's Freedom Watch! on: May 07, 2011, 02:58:46 PM
Just got to 2nd place (with a conspicuously low comment count).

#5 has even less comments - 19 only, so far, so what's the problem?

And it's good that the comments are in low number and they are sane comments.
Imagine all the paranoid people that hang around here went there and posted the same type of stuff they sometimes post in this forum?
Do we really expect the TV show producers/whatever to read 2k comments in a topic? I don't think they will give themslves the trouble.
They will be better off by just researching the matter with their own means, i guess!  Wink

EDIT: Taking a look at the topics with the most comments i realized that it happens when the subject is one that as a lot of opposing points of view.
Bitcoin doesn't seem to be the case. I guess Bitcoin will have to deal more with disbelief than opposition.
Unless it's OCN, where disbelief went hand by hand with very sound opposition!  Smiley

6791  Other / Meta / Re: Should Namecoin Have its Own Forum Section? on: May 06, 2011, 01:54:45 AM
I own namecoin.eu, namecoin.info and namecoin.it.
If someone wants to use one of those for the namecoin website I'll donate the domain, no problem!

+1 to the idea of tying it to the OTC Web of Trust. It takes work to vote there.

So... everybody who doesn't use the OTC or, like me, who stays away from IRC is out of the system... Seems fair!  Roll Eyes
6793  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Vote to get bitcoin on Fox's Freedom Watch! on: May 05, 2011, 11:05:15 AM
I just left my vote.

Seriously guys, it's super simple.

Just visit the link in the OP, sign in through your google account, and click on "3 votes". Done!

there is no need to sign in... Just vote.
6794  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Vote to get bitcoin on Fox's Freedom Watch! on: May 05, 2011, 03:34:15 AM
Update: we are now at 1018 votes and ranked 17th!  Time to beat "Redress of Grievances Lawsuit & Continental Congress 2009", ranked 16th, since there's no need to petition the government if you can instead trade in bitcoins! j/k Wink

Just wait a couple hrs...

6796  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Maybe Gavin could speak at TED on: May 04, 2011, 09:57:19 AM
More realistically, how about the libertarian show "Freedom Watch" by Judge Andrew Napolitano.  Looks like someone has just started a new show topic, so please vote for bitcoin for free here:

http://freedomwatch.uservoice.com/forums/16625-freedom-watch-show-ideas/suggestions/1778101-bitcoin

Only 3 votes so far...needs more!  A lot of great people in the pro-freedom movement have been on that show.  I used to watch it regularly.

Roll Eyes Everybody go there and vote!  Shocked
6797  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: adf.ly of Bitcoin on: May 04, 2011, 08:10:26 AM
I'm thinking of making something like adf.ly that uses bitcoin as the currency. Would anyone use this? Anyone want to help? I bought adb.tc just in case...

I would use it if you pay a little better than adfly...
Yes, i use adfly and i send them some thousand visitors every month.
