681  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Dell PowerEdge PE2850 Server on: April 30, 2013, 06:05:03 AM
two PCI Express™slots (1 x 4 lane and 1 x 8 lane)

so yes you may need riser cables to go from the x4 and x8 slot to a x16 slot - something like this

the issue would be that 7950's need two 6 pin power connectors i would imagine they don't come on Server Power Supplies
you could get adapters like these but im not sure of the power connectors in the servers could even be sata ones

the biggest problem would be the server is rack mounted and with a 7950 you wouldn't be able to close the lid

although with riser cables you could cut a hole in the lid and run the graphics cards outside?

you could probably get a old second hand P4 motherboard with heaps of PCIEx1 slots grab a beastly power supply for around 200  mb+cpu($50) PSU(150)

use a usb to boot from so no HDD needed folow cryptobadgers tutorial for linux

stick it all in a milk crate

not yet, https://cryptonit.net API is undocumented as how to get the rate just difficult as all hell to understand from a C# programmers perspective.

for the moment im manually updating the coins with the *

where does the price from bqc come from?

I calculated it from a price someone was buying at here on this forum, a admin over at bbqcoin.org agrees here

Again the rates with the * are just what I can find around the forums, if I get lazy they wont update... there is a date on the site to tell you when they were last updated.. (if its in the future I am GMT+10)

I make no guarantees that any of the rates are correct..... however the ones that pull dynamically from vircurex, btc-e and mtgox (ones that don't have *) are quite reliable.

I updated the prices on FRC FC and BQC

what ive seen around the forum... could be wrong Cheesy

think someone was trying to sell 10k BQC for 30 LTC so I converted that price through to a BTC exchange rate, might be a bit high  0.00004 -  0.00009978

should i move in more in the middle of that range?
687  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: cryptofolio.info - new version released, now with IXC NVC FRC* BTE* FC* on: April 27, 2013, 02:40:48 PM

688  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: cryptofolio.info - new version released, now with IXC NVC FRC* BTE* FC* on: April 27, 2013, 06:32:05 AM
I have been thinking about adding BBQCoins I probably could add them later tonight...

To fix the speed issues the site updates all exchange rates to a local copy (serialized object) every five minutes instead of fetching them at user request (using cron job)

I need to make a change so it only updates the local rates if there's a new value.. at the moment I think if an exchange is down it will display a zero exchange rate for the affected coins. (Old data is better then no data I guess)  and perhaps I can implement fall over to a different exchange where possible.

Otherwise, site is incredibly helpful.

glad you like it Cheesy

692  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bets of Bitcoin - Bitcoin betting on real world events on: April 26, 2013, 11:21:59 AM

Editor's note: BFL claimed shipping on 4/22.

its also been done on http://betsofbitco.in/item?id=1444  (this one has no power requirement though)

The problem I have is that it isn't clear, I would have liked a bit better explanation saying that they would wait until a customer had one?

Seems like there taking BFL's side... I do see there waiting but perhaps tomorrow they see a video of a dev unit and close the bet?

Also after the stuff up with the last bet like this I think I am well within my rights to be a bit nervous as to how "fairly" this will be decided?
693  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: cryptofolio.info - new version released, now with IXC NVC FRC* BTE* FC* on: April 26, 2013, 11:15:12 AM

I'm not sure what problem swordfish has with the other bet, though.

looks like http://betsofbitco.in/item?id=1444 is now closed

I still think they should wait until either:

1. An actual customer shows images/video of a Jalapeño none if this free/developer unit BS
or
2.  May 1, 2013 end of day Eastern Time

In my opinion all we have is BFL_Jody saying they shipped customer units.. they have lied a lot about deadlines should we really trust them till we know for sure?
699  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / cryptofolio.info - new version released, now with CNC & MNC!!! on: April 26, 2013, 12:00:39 AM
Hi I have just uploaded a new version of cryptofolio.info

Let me know what you think Cheesy

TODO:
If a box is empty put a 0 - at the moment you get "error: check input"
www.cryptofolio.info is diffrent to http://cryptofolio.info in regards to remembering your settings. - fix so its the same
only relies on MT Gox now - fix so not dependent
Resize BBQ icon - still a tiny bit big?

DONE:
Integrate Code to pull FTC price from cryptonit - then use that LTC price to convert through to BTC price
Possibly add Cryptonit as a fallover after BTC-E and VirCurEx where possible
About Page - update from remote host back to dev code. FTC is referred to as FC
Settings need to go from host to dev config
Change FTC icon
Editing the exchange rates - calculate overrides rates (now there's checkbox to allow custom rates)
If a exchange is down I would like it to make it fall over to a different exchange where possible and be seamless to the user.
If one of the exchanges are down it should display the last exchange rate obtained, instead of zero for the coins that it cant get the rate for.
Leaving a input box empty and clicking calculate makes it crash (also non numeric characters)...
Auto update bitcoin to local currency when changed.
speed problems

Notes:
The exchange rate column is in BTC unless it is BTC, in that case its in the local currency.

*Not automatic
