683  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens to Bitcoin when free energy is available? on: July 26, 2012, 01:51:35 AM
If energy is not a limiting factor, other things will be:
-Space (with high enough difficulty, a room full of computers wouldn't get you minimum wage)
-Computation speed
-Cost of labor (with high enough difficulty, people will realize they are making less than minimum wage setting up computers)
-Heat (even with free energy, heat will be a problem as you will need fans or air conditioning)

...and so on

Interesting thoughts... I shall ponder on this.

685  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happens to Bitcoin when free energy is available? on: July 26, 2012, 01:31:52 AM
I'm talking about these techonoliges i've heard about investors creating stuff in the past 100 years or so where the cost of electricity to run batteries generates more energy then it takes to run the batteries. I guess the gov and other rich companies raided these inventors and thus oil continues to rain.. I digress. What will happen in this case of free energy?
686  Economy / Services / Re: [Looking] For merchants to sell items online at no cost | FREE FREE FREE on: July 26, 2012, 01:29:18 AM

Looking for merchants to sell their items on CheaperinBitcoins.com
The motto of CIB is to allow any one to sell products or services and only those who want special treatment can pay for it.

Some features include:
*Anonymous selling and purchasing (Merchant rating system coming soon)
*Fund your product/service to the front page/featured products list
*No wait-time escrow (When a merchant says that he has sent an item funds are released, WOT system that is being integrated will help reduce fraud and scams)

Interesting.
How one learn to constant breath?

I once saw someone using this instrument - is it really a instrument or a  tool to meditate - can you tell more about it?
Think the aboriginals used it as an instrument, I have read of cultures using it to reach higher states of consciousness(Similar to indian cultures drumming, or chanting to send listeners into a trance). I will be using it for the great sound that it makes and every time i hear a didgeridoo I go to a great place Smiley
691  Economy / Goods / Re: [CLOSED] didgeradoo on: July 25, 2012, 08:16:36 AM
Got a didgeridoo from x8drums.com they shipped the day when they said they would(I guess the brand i got took an extra 3-4 days this was mentioned in the slip/reciept and the phone call i had with them) and the didgeridoo isn't bad for $40.. Still having trouble constantly breathing but I expected that once i get it down, I'll be in heaven though.

693  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Cheaper In bitcoins open merchant sign ups to the public on: July 24, 2012, 06:25:22 PM
How much traffic do you get on your site about? Do things sell often?
Cheaper price items tend to sell at the moment; I am working with the owner of an upcoming website for a Web Of Trust system(that is more intuitive than any other WOT out there) I think higher priced items will sell onces the WOT systems ratings is integrated.

If you have that many lazes I'd assume they don't need to be high powered because all of them combined will be low powered.. I've stared at low powered lasers as a kid no harm done Tongue
Do you have any idea how powerful 1.8 watts of concentrated laser energy is? For comparison, a cheap laser pointer will be between 3 and 5 milliwatts. 1800 milliwatts will burn on contact with a variety of materials, including skin, rubber, wood, and more.

Isn't it more accurate to use amps instead of watts? watts is a meta-measurement Tongue
Nnnnooo...... No. Amps is watts divided by volts, and light doesn't have "volts" as such.
What if i have low amps and high volts? or high volts and low amps? I'm saying watts is too ambiguous to use as a measurement tool, im almost not sure why anyone still uses it as a measurement.

Watt is the SI unit of power, regardless of whether it is electricity, light, or heat. When a laser is rated at 1.8W, that is the actual power output in light, which means that at 445nm there are 4x10^18 photons leaving the laser diode each second each with an energy of about 4.46x10^-19 J. I don't know where you're getting your information from, but it's not correct.

Edit: Rereading I think I get what you're saying, which is that the watt is a derived unit and not a base unit, while the amp is. That doesn't mean the amp is a more accurate or better way of rating the light output though, any more than you would rate a 5000W propane heater in amps instead of watts.

Okay i see what i missed, I assumed we are discussing electricity but you are acknowledging that the actual light output it self can be measured in jouls which can apparently be measured in watts of light as well. I had assumed we were talking about electrical outputs i didn't know that’s how lazers were rated in terms of power(light).
